A dragon will kill her creator to protect her family.

Dr. Eva Paz wants only a peaceful life on Roatán for herself and her dolphins, continuing their research in dolphin communication and educating children on the importance of caring for the reef.

But when the Navy reactivates Taffy and Finn for exercises in Pearl Harbor, that all changes. For she finds Julian is there as well, and he is armed with yet another genetically modified creature. This time, it has the spirit of an actual dragon.

Thankfully, Eva has her friends and her family—and Thomas—on her side. Not to mention a whole host of new friends: the members of Dragon Clan.

Join Eva as she works with Thomas and her dolphins to save the Hawaiian Islands from an environmental disaster that could destroy them all.

For fans of Michael Crichton, Dragon Clan is book three in Kristie Clark’s Order of the Dolphin series.

Book club questions included. May be read as a standalone, but Dragon Clan is best enjoyed with the other Order of the Dolphin series books: Killing Dragons and Dragon Gold.

It is fantastic to be back in Roatan with Eva and the gang to find out what happens next in this creature feature. No slow start. Action from the getgo.

Now, they are being moved from Roatan, Honduras to Hawaii, courtesy of DARPA and the US Navy.

Kaili is the guardian spirit of the Dragon Clan. She is a Komodo Dragon like no other.

Eva is worried about her dolphins. They have dealt with a mutant Tylosaurus, drug lords, mutant CobiX fish ad Julian Gulliver. It’s hard to tell which is the most dangerous. As if that isn’t enough, now we have to deal with tsunamis.

Kristie Clark does insert ecological, climate change as it applies to the events in the story. She doesn’t get preachy, just includes the pertinent data, just like any other part of the story. I find, when an author does that, it adds that real element and makes the story richer.

You may wonder how someone can write a series with dolphins as the stars. Ask Kristie Clark. She has managed to keep me eager for more and surprises me with how quickly I become involved. She blends fact and fiction seamlessly.

I caught the hint, but was still surprised when she hurt her arm.

I am soooo loving this series. Kristie Clark does her due diligence when it comes to research, sharing the rich history, myths and legends of Hawaii.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dragon Clan by Kristie Clark.

Julian is Back !! . . .

It seems things are still not ready to calm down for marine biologist Eva Paz, because her ruthless enemy, Julian Gulliver, is back. The Navy reactivates dolphins Taffy and Finn for exercises in Pearl Harbor, but Julian is there also with another genetically modified creature containing the spirit of an actual dragon.

Eva once more calls on her amazing friends and family. Also ex-Navy SEAL and former boyfriend Dr. Thomas Sternberg is right there when she needs him. And she has some new friends, the members of Dragon Clan. Can Eva, Thomas, and the dolphins save the Hawaiian Islands before Julian destroys everything?

This was an incredible read from start to finish.

Dr. Eva Paz and her dolphins were the highlights of the story! I loved their relationship. The way they pushed each other forward was incredible. I always love learning about the different sciences and this was truly one of the best!

The dolphins were so cute! Taffy and Finn training for the Navy and seeing them in action were such a thrill. I loved that the author gave us the dolphin’s POV too. It was amazing watching them communicate with each other and with the humans. They are so smart.

“Semper Fidelis!”
“What does that mean?” Eva asked.
Sarah beamed. “Always faithful.”

And to top it all off, a dragon! And there is a clan of people descended from the dragons - the Dragon clan. We see Thomas and his family are descendants of this clan. Thomas’s grandmother fighting to protect the dragon and the dragon protecting them were thrilling.

Thomas was an interesting character. I loved his job and his affection for his family. I loved how he dropped everything to go help Eva and find his grandmother. I am very much interested in knowing more about him.

Eva and Thomas team up to save the dolphins and the inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands from a natural disaster. The dolphins are taken away by Julian when Eva leaves them to find Thomas’s grandmother. All the events come together and the objective turns different. There is a higher purpose almost.

“And is that what Luahine is doing with the bones?" Laura asked. “Trying to bring back a living giant Komodo dragon, like what we found in the cave?”
“That’s what she was trying to do, Dr. Wilson. I believe she’s accomplished it.”
That was exactly what Thomas was afraid of.

Truth be told, I did not read the first two books in the series. But the blurb sounded so good that I had to try. I am going back to reading the series in order immediately. Definitely recommend this series!!

😭 Continuation and end of a great series ❤

Mu fish farm, Hawaii :

On the deck of the Tesoro yacht, Julian’s partner oversees the transfer of a Mo’o dragon clone to his new Pool.

The transfer is perilous, the animal having grown a lot and having become formidable...

--------------

It was with great pleasure that I rediscovered the continuation of the dangerous adventures of scientist Eva Paz, who invented the software for communicating with dolphins.

A captivating volume 3 to read, which takes the reader on a successful and entertaining new story.

As always there is action and the unexpected in this great novel which closes the whole series and whose ending I really liked.

I’m sad 😭 it’s over and a little nostalgic already...

I recommend this superb series ❤ !
I wish a great success to the author 🌈

I love this series! Order of the Dolphin – Dragon Clan – book #3 – Dr. Eva Paz is continuing her human-dolphin communication research on the island of Roatán when the U.S. Navy advises her that the dolphins are being called up for naval maneuvers in Hawaii. So, the entire clan, animal and human to travel to Hawaii. Meanwhile her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Thomas, is called home to Hawaii for a family emergency. Non-stop action ensues to make a very enjoyable read. The reader is treated to more knowledge of the Hawaiian/Polynesian culture and religion along with more critical elements of climate change and its effects on ocean creatures and humans living by the sea. I really enjoy learning more about both. Anxiously awaiting book #4! I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the opinions voluntarily expressed are my own.

Dragon Clan is Book 3 in the Order of the Dolphin by Kristie Clark. This book is an exciting conclusion to the series. Dr Eva Paz old enemy, Julian, has returned with a new creation, genetically modified fish. When the Navy reactivates Taffy and Finn. Julian wants revenge and Eva along with Thomas must fight for her dolphins. There is a tsunami and so much action. I really enjoyed the ending and Kristine Clark concluded her trilogy perfectly. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Eva is back in the third installment of the Order of the Dolphin saga. The story continues without breaking stride from the previous entries. Although a good story there is one story line that takes far too long for completion. We, the readers, figure it out long before the conclusion is confirmed. I found it a bit frustrating waiting for the shoe to fall so to speak. Still, I did enjoy the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my unsolicited and honest opinion.

Same formula as the previous two, which is becoming less engaging every book. Dolphin stuff, romance woes, disaster strikes, failed rescue attempt, everyone bands together to work on the crisis and everything works out ok because teamwork. Not sure if I'll go on to read the last one because it also sounds exactly the same.

With a new setting and adventure, this book is a nice addition to the series.

Sad to say it' snot out of this world exciting, but it's a good continuation of the story lines and closing some overreaching arc's and giving preparing us for new adventures with the characters.

Fast paced and hard to put down. This story wraps up themes from the previous two novels, but in a new setting. There were new scientific phenomena introduced, and new characters. Some things were predictable and others were a surprise. It is less violent than the previous two books. A good read.

I liked this book but I feel like it didn't live up to the others in the series. The best one is the first book, Killing Dragons. You can read this as a stand alone but it would be a lot better to read them in order. I guess I felt like for the conclusion of a series there were still questions unanswered. Maybe they'll be a fourth?

Dr. Eva Paz and her dolphin Taffy and wholphin Finn have been reactivated by the Navy and are on their way to Hawaii. Eva is going too, along with Axel her sound manager and Taffy's son Chico and a third dolphin, Cleo, whose title is Chico's babysitter. Eva is hoping to get this over with as quickly as possible and return to Honduras.

In the meantime, the villain of the prior two books, Julian, is up to his old tricks again genetically engineering extinct monsters to try and sell to the highest bidder. In this he has swept up Dr. Thomas Sternberg's (the other regular character in the series and Eva's old flame) grandmother, or tutu, into the mix as she found the bones for Julian's newest creation and believes it contains the spirit of the ancient Hawaiian religion that protects the Dragon Clan, Thomas' ohana. It makes a lot more sense in the story, trust me.

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

This isn't the first book in the series but that didn't make it hard to read. I went right into it and found it an easy and enjoyable read. I enjoyed the book and the tinge of magical along with regular life fit right in. Well done. The Hawaiian information at the end of the book was fascinating.

Outstanding book of science fiction. All your favorite things from your past as a kid and the science of DeoxyriboNucleic Acid and genetics. Everything in this book is plausible.
