Sexy vampires with attitudes, a strong female hunter who holds the key to their demise, and a vampire race who knows her very existence is a threat. Things would be easier if she didn't love them.

By day, I’m an emergency room nurse. By night, I’m a hunter, stalking serial killers that the police can’t catch…until one of my hunts goes bad, and the only thing standing between me and certain death is a handsome stranger who just happens to come with fangs.

But it seems saving my life isn’t enough—he says I’m coming home with him.

It turns out my quarry was a vamp too, and vampires aren’t supposed to kill their own, especially not over a human. Oops. It won’t be long until the dead vampire’s clan catches up with us.

And though my new friend’s hive of alpha warriors each have their merits, not all four are friendly—some would rather throw me to our enemies than help. It makes them especially nervous that their powers don’t work when I’m nearby. But it soon becomes clear that we’ll need each other to get out of this alive.

What alpha vampires want, alpha vampires get.
And what they want is me.

Why choose just one?

The Born of Darkness series is high heat reverse harem paranormal romance that features one badass female hunter, her four fated vampire mates, and provocative MFMMM scenes.

Warning: This review contains cussing and some sexual content. Read at your own risk.

If you want to read a book that’s so bad that it’s funny, then this is the book for you. I was cracking up while reading this. It had tons of cringey quotes that made for an entertaining read. I almost considered giving this book a higher star rating because of how much I was laughing while reading this story.

This book started off like a steamy Twilight. Dawn reminded me a lot of Bella Swan. She’s sort of a Mary Sue type character who constantly gets herself in danger. Silas, on the other hand, gave me massive Edward Cullen vibes, especially with his mind reading ability and how Dawn is the one person his mind reading ability doesn’t work on. The three other men had really interesting personalities at first and I liked the group dynamics.

However, things started to take a turn for the worst after the spicy scenes started happening. Apparently Dawn has a magical vagina because all men lost their personalities after they hooked up with her. Yes, you heard me right - she has a magical vagina. After each man hooks up with her, their magical powers get enhanced. They experimented with being physical without intercourse, but the magic effect doesn’t fully work unless intercourse is involved. This story also would’ve been exponentially better if the men had kept their personalities after hooking up with Dawn. The fun group dynamics were almost completely destroyed by the end of this book because of how the mens’ personalities disappeared.

I still might’ve had fun laughing at the story despite the whole magical vagina thing, but then I realized that the story was rushing. The scenes happening between the spice should’ve been my favorite part of this whole book. I’m really into vampire books and all the action in them, but each action scene and non-spicy scene was rushed in order to get to the next spicy scene. The spicy scenes were rushed, too, so it felt like this book was aiming to include as many spicy scenes as possible instead of writing good quality spice. I wish this book had took it’s time with the plot so that I could truly get invested in the story.

I don’t regret reading this book, but I definitely feel like it could’ve been a lot better. If you want a quick, spicy read with some really dark moments, then this is definitely the book for you. Just don’t go into it with high expectations.

Now onto some quotes. Some of these are funny from how bad they are and some of these are so terrible that if I had to read them, other people should be forced to join me at cringeing from how bad they are.

-“…the peninsula, what the kids call ‘the penis…’”

-“I sometimes wonder if my dad raped my mom, if that’s my real legacy…” (Context: Dawn is hunting a serial killer when this thought randomly pops into her head for no apparent reason and it’s never brought up again in the story.)

-“Not only is this exactly the kind of situation that screams ‘damself in distress,’ but I haven’t had sex in months.”

-“Who needs sex when you can bag a killer?”

-“…that band of purpling flesh does not fill me with thirst or the desire to kill her; it fills me with a rage I’ve not felt since I watched my family die of the plague.”

-“But the surrounding are very ‘horror movie-esque,’ and as a pretty girl with a decent rack, I’m probably first on the kill list.”

-“…I climb off the bike, my spine still vibrating like I’ve been sitting on a washing machine for an hour. Everyone acts like they’ve never tried it, but that’s bullshit…” (Do people actually do this???)

-“She’s beautiful, I’ll give him that, the type of beauty that used to get a woman paired off to the biggest landowner in the region.”

-“This is far better than a washing machine, and nothing bad could come out of making him want me…” (This book literally ruined washing machines for me.)

-“…Draynor’s sitting on it now, legs spread, fully nude except for his black boots…” (AND HE DIDN’T TAKE THOSE DANGS BOOTS OFF FOR THE ENTIRE THREESOME.)

-“‘I’m not afraid of you,’ I whisper. I sit beside the water and lower my hand to the surface. The fish scatter, the big one flipping its tail in its haste to get away. I sigh. Animals have never liked me.”

-“…a flock of birds or perhaps bats take flight with a fluttering sound that reminds me of the slapping of flesh on flesh.”

-“…Draynor’s black boots, the ones he wore when he fucked me…” (Boots have now been ruined for me, too.)

-(Not going to quote a whole sex scene here, but there’s a scene where they think Dawn is dying and she’s so injured that she can barely move, but then Silas reads her mind to see what she wants and they have a foursome while she is literally dripping with blood.)

-“…the sunlight burns. Is it starting? But no, human or vampire, it’s always ill-advised to star straight into the fucking sun.”

-“Fish can’t become vampires either, and Markula’s instructions to them were clear: eat.” (The fact that the only time the men feed their pet fish is when they need to dispose of a severed head-)

-“I’m going to die, but at least I got epically laid beforehand. If there’s enough of me left to bury, I hope they put that on my tombstone.”

Also, special fun fact if you’ve read this far: I was going to say that this author needs therapy because of some of the unhinged stuff in the book, but then I read the author’s bio at the end of the book… SHE WAS A THERAPIST WHO DECIDED TO SWITCH CAREERS SO SHE COULD WRITE SMUT.

What a hot mess 🤣. I figured I was in for a trope-filled ride, so I tried to not be too harsh about the insta-love or fated mates or empathic/telepathic nonsense OR the vampires who only feed on criminals.... BUT, the rest of the book is so sloppy. The wrong word is used often and repeatedly (like coy instead of koi). The author forgets which vampire she placed where, and will mix up names between chapters. The metaphors are mixed or just plain nonsensical (malicious wind!!! 🤣🤣🤣). And the "plot" doesn't take any time to build relationships or characters or ambience or themes... it's just a frenzied excuse of a bridge between smut scenes.

Good for a quick dirty read if that's all you need. But if you read for any kind of substance, or, you know, if you appreciate even mediocre writing - writing which follows the rules of grammar and story structure - look elsewhere 🤣🤦‍♀️.

This is an interesting take on the vampire world. Dawn is a nurse by day and a stalker of monsters by night.
After the violent death of her mother, Dawn takes out the monsters that attack innocents and the police are unable to find. It's on her latest hunt that she encounters Silas who kills a vampire to save her, then takes her back to his hive knowing that he may have just started a war with another vampire hive but he is unable to resist the pull to Dawn.
The writing style is very descriptive and with multiple POV it really gives you a feel for how everyone is feeling.
Silas' hive don't understand the pull they have to Dawn's or the powers she appears to display but they are all attracted to her and wiling to fight to keep her with them.
This does end on a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to the next book.

This one was a quick read that was eerie and intriguing and spicy.
The spice was probably my favorite part but the premise was definitely not what I was expecting.
I do wish the characters had a little bit more emotional depth, especially toward the end when everything starts unraveling.
And the ending felt a little rushed. But overall, it was a good 4✨ book

Beckoned (Born of Darkness Book 1)
By R. B. Fields
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Beckoned (Born of Darkness Book 1) by R. B. Fields. I have always loved vampire stories and this book is a good example of why. The story tells a dark tale that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next, I loved the characters. There are strong main characters that are well-developed. I found myself lost in the pages and the ending seemed to come too soon. I also enjoyed reading about the part that the additional characters play. The author does an amazing job of making the story and the characters come alive. Don’t miss out on an interesting. Intriguing, exciting, and entertaining book. I highly recommend it.

Beckoned is the first book in the Born of Darkness series by R B Fields.

I love it when a new series pulls you in from the start, and that’s just what this book did. It’s been a while since I was drawn into a vampire story, despite enjoying them I find that they usually follow a similar storyline. This book, however, kept me on my toes. The characters are strong and full of personality. The story is engaging and fast-paced. I love it when you can get completely lost in a book and are so absorbed by the storyline that you just can’t put it down.

I quite often find that vampire stories are aimed more at the YA audience. This one, however, is definitely aimed at adults. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Normally vampire reads are not a go to for me, but when I saw the cover and a few teasers I knew I needed to see what this was all about. Fields is also a new author to me so I am excited to get a chance to read what else she has available since I enjoyed this one. Beckoned it the first book of the Born of Darkness series, and I am super excited to get a chance to see what will come next. I loved the way Fields wrote these characters so well you can’t help but to fall in love with them as you follow them tackling the things life throws their way. I really enjoyed the erotic romance undertones as well because they were done well and with grace that this lifestyle deserves. I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

This is my first book by R.B Fields. It’s a very “steamy” book, with multiple scenes that don’t disappoint. I typically read books a little “less steamy”, but this one held my attention very well. The word building was great as well as the storyline. Dawn is our main female character, she’s witty and not afraid to fight for what she wants/believes in. This is a paranormal type story, so our other characters are vampires. There are four main vampires that become part of Dawn’s life. It’s a good story with some great sex scenes, totally worth a read!

Dawn Macewan is a nurse by day and a badass human woman who follows the darkness that lives inside her and draws her to the darkness in others and uses it to solve the unsolvable murders and when she does, she goes after the serial killers before incapacitating them and handing them over to the authorities, but that is all about to change when her latest one turns out to be a vampire and a mean one at that. As she walks down the boardwalk late at night and well after the imposed curfew, she is ready to confront the evil where it preys upon the women, suddenly she hears him approaching her from behind, she grasps her mothers knife and prepares for the inevitable attack, but when she sees another man at the other end of the bridge, she is not prepared for the reaction she has to him, the man with the violet eyes staring back at her.

As the reality dawns on her that there are actually two of them, she is determined to at least get in some damage of her own before she is taken down, but when the guy in front of her disappears, she then feels a bolt of pain in the back of her head and as she struggles back to her feet, she knows the guy is behind her, she can hear him breathing, but as she attempts to get to her phone and finish the call to the authorities, he grabs her arm and wrenches her arm out of the socket, but as he shifts his weight to get behind her, she stabs him in the thigh with her knife, but she cannot escape him and the rest of her blows don’t seem to affect him at all and that's when he starts to strangle her. As she knows she is about to die, the pressure suddenly releases and she hears a tearing sound in the air and she turns to see both men on the boardwalk, the one who tried to kill her is dead and ripped apart on the boards and the other is above him and when he approaches her, his face is covered in blood.

The man approaches her, knowing that he may attack her, but she is drawn to him and it appears that he is feeling the same way as he offers her his hand, she doesn’t trust him, but as he asks her questions, she just barks a laugh at him and as they both realise that she isn’t afraid of him like she should be, even when she lets slip that she knows he is a vampire too, although she says she is surprised seeing as they were working together, he puts that right as soon as she says it disgusted even at the idea. He seems to make a decision there and asks her to go with him and see the others, she agrees to go, liking the idea of safety in numbers, especially when vampires are involved, so getting on his motorcycle, they head back to his group and as she thinks over what she has just seen and how it will affect her future, but the feeling that she is in danger overarches everything else. When they arrive at the vampires home, it is not what she expected, but at the same time she understands the need for it, however as the door opens and a discussion about her ensues, she is not sure what her best option is, to go home and face certain death, or stay here and face possible death.

When Dawn tries to sleep and fails when her nightmares start, she gives up and gets dressed, but realises her knife is missing and goes to find the guy who brought her there, he is the only one who knows about it, however when she goes to confront him, she cannot deny the attraction between them and before she knows it, she is overcome with desire and so is he and they spend the night together, but when the next day, they all set off together somewhere else, she finds that it isn’t just the him she is attracted to and when things start to heat up between her and one of the others in the group, she doesn’t know what to do about it, but that is just the start of the unusual occurrences as they escape from the other vampire group chasing them down, but will she be able to survive them, or will whatever she has gotten in to be ruined before it can even start?

This is an erotic romance with a twist as secrets are revealed and tensions mount leaving you wanting to find out what those secrets are and as this fast paced novel whirls you to the end it keeps you interested all the way through.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields

This is the first book by Fields and I will be waiting for more. Beckoned is an amazing start to a great series. Fields knows how to write and bring the readers back.

Dawn has never felt like she belonged anywhere. She's a nurse in the ER and sees a lot of things. She is told that her mother didn't die by the hands of a monster, but she soon learns that's not true. The quote I chose for Dawn is: “I’m going to sit by the pond. Let me know when I can come in to eat, would you? You do have human food, right?”

Silas is one of the four vampire mates to Dawn. When he finds her on the bridge trying to kill another of his kind he is shocked. He's the first to bond with her and knows how she enhances his powers. The quote I chose for Silas is: “I heard them, too, in the woods, though they were very far away — farther than I should be able to hear. Something about her is increasing my range and the intensity of my powers, and —”

Kain is the smart one of Dawn's mates. When he tends to her wounds he finds that he is stronger. He doesn't want to go too deep as he needs to research. The quote I chose for Kain is: “Not much to tell. I was in the war , which one is irrelevant — they are all the same. I do not remember dying. I do not remember turning. I do know it took me nearly eighty years to find Markula … and those like him.”

Draynor is the second to bond with Dawn. The third of her mates and the one who can feel things. He doesn't know what to make of her at first. Soon that all changes and he doesn't want to leave her. The quote I chose for Draynor is: “I guarantee none of them can hear as well as we can. They can’t sense us the way we can sense them. And if Dawn’s with us, she’ll likely dampen their senses as she did ours before we bonded, leaving our powers all the more finely honed. Our best option is —”

Markula is the leader of their hive. The fourth and the last to mate with Dawn. When he does he finds that she may be playing them. He doesn't trust her and hasn't from the beginning. The quote I chose for Markula is: “There are no vices for us, no real dangers for addiction. We can’t invite that in, especially when we have no frame of reference for what kind of addiction this might be.”

Highly recommended for Erotica Romance lovers.

Beckoned (Born of Darkness, Book 1) by R.B. Fields was a thrilling 5 star read.
It took just a little bit for me to get pulled in but once I was I couldn’t put it down.

Dawn is a nurse who is one a mission to help get bad guys off the streets. At night she goes hunting for serial killers, what she didn’t expect was a vampire. With a dangerous twist she finds herself in the arms of a very hot vampire, Silas.

Silas is intrigued by Dawn, he brings her home with him knowing she is in danger. They both will be hunted by the dead vampires clan. When Dawn meets the rest of the clan they are all pulled in by her, but why? And my oh my do we get some very hot and steamy moments.

Will Dawn continue to bond with all of the vampires? Will they be able to keep her safe? And just what is Dawn?

Overall this was a thrilling read. I loved all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. I felt like I was getting a mix of Lost boys and True Blood with this group of hot vampires. There are some twists and turns that added a great element to the story. We do end on a slight cliff hanger so I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. If you are looking for a great vampire read, 1-click and get started today.

Over the years, I've read many different kinds of vampire books - so many that I run the risk of reading the same old vampire story.
In saying that, I took a chance on this book and I'm happy that I did. I've really enjoyed the journey that R.B. Fields took me on. I felt transported into a new world and the characters are refreshing. The book starts off by introducing the strong, kick ass, independent human that quickly falls into the dreamy and irresistible world of Silas- The vampire.
Their story intrigued me - pulling me in with their quick wit, their banter and their burning emotions. Their story soon turns into a multi point of view story just as I was starting to learn about Dawn and Silas. As much as I love a multi voiced story, the amount of voices put in here almost became too much. It felt busy and almost like a competition too be heard. I got distracted and I felt some characters were just not as interesting as others.
That being said, this story still grabbed my interest from the first page and I completely fell in love with the world building too. It leaves me hungry for more.

I found myself finishing this book quickly because I could not put it down.

Dawn is a nurse who finds herself stalking the streets at night to hunt down serial killers. However, her latest hunt finds her fighting a vampire. When another vampire steps in and kills one of his own to protect Dawn, neither he nor Dawn are safe. However, when Silas brings Dawn home to protect them both...his housemates have their reservations. As time passes, they all start coming to the conclusion that there is more to Dawn than meets the eye...and they can't agree if that is a good thing or a bad thing. It doesn't help that all 4 vampires are sexy and Dawn can't seem to keep her hands (among other parts) off of them. When another hive of vampires come seeking vengeance for their member's death...it is obvious they they want Dawn. Will Silas and the other defend her against their own kind...or is she more trouble than she's worth?

I really liked the back and forth between Dawn and the guys...even surly Markula. I definitely want to read the rest of the series now because I need to know how it all plays out!

Straight to the smut so if that's all you're looking for, this freebie could be a good choice.

The writing is technically proficient but lacks any meaningful attempt to reach beyond sex scenes.*

The personalities are barely developed and are all but obliterated by the first fucks. The heroine's about-face, particularly, is implausible. She's a vigilante, out trying to take down monsters after her mother is slaughtered by one. Wouldn't you think she'd have a bit more of an opinion about her change in fortune or her new lovers' lifestyle? Something more than passively going along for the ride, literally and metaphorically?

I like some smut, but I want it to be balanced out by story. I'm not interested in instalove that has no emotional foundation. I'm not engaged by plot tension that is easily resolved through convenient magical powers. I'm not a fan of clichés. I realise that the big reveal on the last page is supposed to be shocking but I'd have to care about the characters to care about their cliffhanger ending.

* barring some homonyms, particularly "koi" vs "coy". I've never had pet fish but I find it hard to imagine them ever being coy.

This book left me with a lot of questions and ended with a confusing deus ex machina that isn’t fully explained.

Fated mates are rare in this world, but the FMC is special, so she’s the mate of all 4 of the MMCs. It’s never explained why FMC is special, just that she definitely is. There are apparently two types of vampires, good-ish ones and psycho ones, and it’s not explained why that is either, except that it’s apparently in their blood? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Author obviously thinks fangs and sunlight aversion are lame, so just tosses those out along with garlic, crucifixes and mirrors. Just once I’d like to see a vampire novel NOT toss out garlic aversion like so much trash? But that’s neither here nor there.

The spicy scenes were plentiful and more or less immediate. The MCs must have a brain-slug or something, because they lose all their ability to think straight when they get horny (yes this is canon) and then go right back to normal just in time for the next danger to arrive. The whole book is like that. Spicy scene, then discussion about how crazy this is and how the FMC is weird and/or dangerous, gory scene, then back to spice.

This is the first book in the Born Of Darkness series and wow what a start. I love anything to do with vampires so this book was perfect for me. I really liked the adult theme in the relationship between our strong female character and the male vampires.

Dawn knows something is different about her but she doesn't know what that is. After a run in with what she believes was a human serial killer she is shocked when she realises its a vampire and that another vampire saves her.

Now with the hive of the dead vampire after them Silas knows they have to leave and keep Dawn safe. Not everyone in his hive is happy with that idea especially not their leader Markula.

As they leave to escape the vampires after them the relationships between them grows and they learn that by being with Dawn their powers are increasing which is just as well if they are to defeat the forces against them.

Can they face the odds and win? What is Dawn? Is she human or something more? Can their love survive or will Dawn be the death of them all?

I am going to be honest when I tell you that I wasn’t a fan of this book at the beginning. It seemed very slow to start, but gosh was I glad that I didn’t let that deter me from reading this book. Once I really sunk my fangs into the meat of this book, I didn’t want to put it down. I have never read a book from this author before. To be perfectly honest, I’ve never heard of the author previously. But let me just say that she has grabbed my attention, and this will not be the last book I read from her. The characters are amazing, and she provides the reader with enough detail that allows your imagination to just roam freely. I especially found the vampire erotica story captivating and the detail was so descriptive that I felt like I was there watching it all take place. And it was steamy! The chapters contain different character points of view which I personally thought was brilliant. I think that was what threw me off at first, but once I figured out what was going on I LOVED IT! If you liked Twilight and wanted more erotica then this book is perfect for you.

Beckoned (Born of Darkness Book 1) by R. B. Fields. This is my first book by this author but it most certainly won't be my last! Its an amazing dark paranormal romance! Its the story of Dawn who is a nurse in the ER and has never felt like she belongs anywhere. Dawn is also a vampire which might be the reason she has trouble fitting in! At night she travels around looking for somewhere to fit in and one night she gets attacked by a vampire that is a human serial killer. She is also saved by another vampire. Silas is the vampire that saves Dawn and he knows now that the head Vampire slayer is after them so they have to run. While she and Silas get to know each other as they are running for their lives Dawn realizes that Silas is HOT! There are a lot of other characters involved and lots of other vampires, craziness and death. This book will take you by the hand and lead you down a dark, sexy, scary path that you will be screaming for more! Do yourself a favor and read this book to find out if Silas and Dawn survive the Vampire slayers. You will be so glad you did!

I've long been a fan of vampire fiction, and I have to say it's refreshing to see a new take on bloodsucker lore. These are vampire re-imagined, and in a good way. No cookie cutters here, each of the vamp characters are different and well written.

Add in a female protagonist who is strong and ballsy, who shatters the mould of "helpless female in thrall to the males", and this is a cracking good read!

Also? The erotica is white hot. As someone who would walk over hot coals for good erotica - and will abandon a book without a backward glance if the erotica is dreadful - this is saying something!

There's terrific mystery in this book, as the plot begins to unfold. In a very good sign, I read the last page, eyes wide, and suffered that constant reader's dilemma - there were no more pages to read!

Safe to say I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This is a new author for me and I look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is a well rounded story that has vampires and lots of action. This is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters made the story feel real and they are connectable. I had no problem seeing myself with them. They made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about a strong female hunter who is a nurse by day and a serial hunter by night. What will happen when she realizes that the person she is hunting is not only a vampire but hot to look at as well. Sometimes fate has a way of stepping in to determine your life mate or could there be more than one. I enjoyed seeing a strong female hunter and watching her grow throughout the story was great. She was my favorite and really made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields

5-stars

This is the first book by this author that I have read but it certainly won’t be my last, I absolutely loved this one! From the very first chapter I was hooked, Once I started reading, I found it incredibly hard to stop so I ended up reading it in one sitting, and then all I wanted to do once I reached the end was dive into the next book of the series, which I’m really looking forward to reading!

This author wrote with so much detail that I was immediately enticed by the storyline and the fantastic characters. It’s a fast paced paranormal read with lots of action, entertaining and witty characters, and steamy scenes, so many deliciously steamy scenes. It was truly a pleasure to read from start to finish.

This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next paranormal read, you will not be disappointed.

Beckoned
Born Of Darkness
Book 1
By R. B. Fields
☆☆☆☆☆
Vampires, Romance and hot steamy reading. That is what you will find in this story. Full length novel with a touch of Paranormal. Strong women make for a strong story about vampire hunting. But that one vampire is more than she bargained for. This story will keep you reading. There is plenty of hot steamy romance, along with a storyline. All is not what it seems.

R. B. Fields is a new to me author. I have found another writer that writes what I enjoy reading. I love the characters, even more, the strong woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. Beckoned (Born of Darkness Book 1) by R. B. Fields
Beckoned is the first book in the Born of Darkness Series by R.B. Fields and my first read by this author but definitely not my last. This is a Paranormal Erotica Romance that I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t put it down. I was absolutely intrigued and had to know what was going to happen next. The characters are well developed and easy to follow. The story flowed so well I was finished before I realized . This is about a strong female hunter who is a nurse and at night is a serial hunter. Find out what happens next when the person she’s hunting is not only a vampire but a hot vampire.? I highly recommend reading this book I look forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R. B. Fields. This book blew me away from start to finish. I sometimes have trouble sinking into a paranormal story but I definitely didn’t have that problem with this book. From page one I knew I was in for quite the ride with not only the storyline but the characters. It’s definitely a steamy read and I loved every minute of it. The characters truly brought the storyline to life. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m already excited for more from this author. Five stars all the way! Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields is a story full of paranormal and romance. It was a fascinating read. It was steamy. For people who are into vampire romance, this is the book for you.

Four sexy vampires with an attitude. A female hunter whose life is a very threat to the vampire race. Yet, she can’t help but fall in love with all of them. She is a serial killer hunter but a daytime emergency room nurse. Vampires aren’t allowed to kill their own, but one vampire has killed to protect her.

Every chapter was a fun read. The romance was very intense loved every page of it.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields
5 Stars!!!!!

It's a great day when I discover new authors and series. This is such a book and I was really not let down at all. The author has quite the refreshing story and the characters just jump right off of the pages. I was hooked from the first page and could not put this book down.

I really felt as though I was right there in the action and drama. I really liked Dawn's character. She is a complex character and I really like how the story is based around her and the discovery of who she is. I also love vampire stories so this just really grabbed me and hooked me in. I cannot wait to read more from this author and series.

Beckoned is the first book in the Born of Darkness series by R.B. Fields. This book also appears to be the author’s debut novel. I love anything vampire- so it was a given that I would be reading this book the moment it showed up on my recommended book list.
It has a refreshingly original take on the whole vampire lore- making for a captivating read. With drama, humour, and plenty of sizzle- this introduction to the author’s work ensures that I will definitely be coming back for more.

Thank you, R.B. Fields!

Beckoned (Book One of the Born In Darkness series) by R.B. Fields was a really good read! If you enjoy steamy stories with an actual storyline, this book is for! Reading this synopsis, I thought this book was going to be a little funnier than what it was. It wasn't really funny to me, but it was entertaining, steamy and suspenseful with some graphic violence involved. This definitely not a book for people under the age of 18. The storyline was interesting, and the ending definitely leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read the next installment of this series!
