I wish I had a Daddy who hugged me real tight so I never needed to hug a pillow... I'm not saying that I feel lonely because ...well ...I'm used to being alone but if there was a play-daddy available who would just hug me, I'd do anything to feel the warmth of his touch, both inside and out. *Sigh* Okay. I'm touch starved.
I'm a Turkish multi-genre indie author. I love writing tales swirling (or intertwined by) with elements of romance, passion, mystery, horror, and fantasy where falling in love with a different kind of hero is the only possibility...
David thinks he’s no catch, to avoid heartbreak he’s alone and also lonely. Little does he know... he’s colorful, has a big imagination, is creative, and wears beautiful mostly handmade creatures. Only for his eyes. While there is a pain in his heart, he can entertain himself, singing loudly in the woods near his cottage. He yearns for connecting, the one where you can cuddle and hug. At times he’s just a little boy who desperately needs a Daddy.
In the same woods lives Faine, a mystical creature, he’s the one who hears the earthling. When he finally sees him he’s stunned by his features and overwhelmed by his delicious scent. There is instant attraction and lust. He watches the human from a distance. There are predators around who want to claim this tiny, much too thin earthling. Faine wants him for himself.
What an utterly sweet and playful fairytale. A story with all the feels, where dreams come true, where fantasy and reality are combined. David is an endearing, adorable, childlike character, watching him made me a bit sad at times, he was so alone, it was somewhat bittersweet. Faine is a versatile creature, he can shift in many forms. It’s an airy, slightly developed, entertaining story, the fantasy was fun. The author has a friendly, positive way of writing, with some hurt here and there, I love their stories!
I enjoy reading MM romances and this story was quite a delightful tale. It is an intriguing blend of fantasy and reality. David is a young man who works at Elegance Corsetry where he sells corsets among other lacy lingerie. He enjoys his job but longs for more in his life. You see, David is a “little” who desperately longs for a Daddy to love and take care of him. I could feel his loneliness and pain in every word Ms. Lamb wrote.
David does find small ways to lift his spirits such as taking walks and singing in the woods that surround the quaint cottage he lives in. This is where Faine first sees him. He is immediately attracted to David which is somewhat confusing for him. I can’t say anymore other than Faine is a unique character and the Daddy that David always dreamed of and so much more.
David and Faine’s discovery of each other and ensuing relationship warmed my heart. Finding that special someone that completes you in every way is no easy task, but David and Faine soon realize that they were meant for each other. Their story is so romantic, sexy, and hot!! It’s everything I look forward to in this type of dynamic. I couldn’t help but fall in love with these two.
This is my first book from Lily Lamb and I am now a fan. If you enjoy MM romance or you are just looking for something sexy and different, I would recommend Daddy in Training. I wasn’t disappointed, in fact I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed David and Faine. I think you will enjoy them too!!
If there were trigger warnings, I missed them. This needs a TW for an eating disorder (ana), body dysmorphia , homelessness and food insecurity. There's also a bit of homophobia which leads the MC to being homeless, but it's a passing comment.
This book also needs a better blurb. The blurb tells nothing of what this story is really about.
I was honestly tempted to stop reading this at 25%. It's a story with an identity crisis. David going back and forth with his "daddy or little" voice was really hard to follow. His lifelong dream was to make corsets, but his life long dream was to open a little cafe. It just wasn't fleshed out and would have benefited from an outline during writing.
The last 2 chapters were really the "best" part of the book, but the book just ends. There's literally nothing of their relationship as Daddy/boy. Nothing. Ugh
*I received an ARC, but all thoughts and feelings are my own.*
Ok...Imma say this...this book had sooooooooooooooooo much potential...I kept reading and was like OK...its gonna get better...David was gonna get his forever daddy because the poor flighty kid was lonely and in much need of someone to take care of him...then comes Faine...doing all the right things as a mate and daddy should do but from afar...so I got this ARC wayyyyy before I realize this was a "playful fantasy". If I would have known that, I would have been better prepared to read something quirky and teasing. I'm not gonna say I didn't enjoy it because it was OK but just not what I originally expected. Wish the ending was a little bit more...maybe added a epilogue to see how little David and daddy Faine doing in their HEA.
This story is unexpected, the characters are unexpected and the writer is unexpected. I read the first few chapters wondering why I had to meet David, a young man with a dreadful past. Of course the author knew why I had to meet him. David is as unique as a rare diamond, sweet as a pie, and a damaged man through circumstances. The most amazing thing is the author’s imagination creating a character like David. In all honesty this is the most difficult part, yet it seems effortless. Bravo for creating a story with depth and dimension yet playful, fun and with a happy ending. Needless to say this story is wonderfully unusual.
I blame the blurb. Sold me a different kind of book and it wasn't what I wanted :( I wanted a touch starved little who will find his perfect daddy and he will train him to be his one and only. I wanted some paranormal elements too, because hello, look at that cover! But what I got? A little who talks to himself and play both the daddy and little role because he is alone and desperately wants a daddy. It was so creepy, the guy talked nonstop real conversation with himself. The daddy came late into the picture and it wasn't romantic or erotic at all. No real daddy/little scenes, no romance, no paranormal... nothing. It was emtpy.
Different daddy/ boy book but had to finish it to see what happens. David had been kicked out of his home when he told his parents he was gay, he likes lacy corsets and being a little but also being the daddy to his little. He is very insecure has no friends and has an eating disorders. Along comes Faine who hears him 'singing' in the forest. Faine is magical and looks after the forest. Took a while to get into the story, could have been longer. I received an advanced copy of this book from GGR for a honest review
Whimsical story about David, a little that likes wearing pretty and frilly corsets while dreaming of a daddy to take care of him. Faine is enamored with David when he hears him singing off key in the woods. This was a very sweet story about a young man that was extremely lonely and wished for someone to care about him. I enjoyed this book and recommend it if you are looking for a lighthearted story.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I was taken by David. He was so sure he was never going to get a daddy of his own, he had an imaginary one. He worked so hard, didn't look after himself but was adorable. Faine was drawn to him unexpectedly. David disturbed more than the animals in the forest, he kept the interest of an original being. Faine found himself doing everything he never expected he would, because of the human, David, who had captivated him. An unusual, unique, interesting read which I enjoyed. “I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.”
With a mixture of sweetness, fantasy, and myth these stories let the real world slide away. This one especially embraced the fae and the beautiful soul of Faine. David is such a sweetheart but he needed a Daddy who would love and treasure all the parts of him. To be loved and appreciated completely and be seen as the beautiful person we all are.
This is most definitely not your typical romance. It’s a bit silly, whimsical and fun. Oddly, it’s entertaining as it’s not what I’m used to reading. Fun characters give a fairy tale quality to the story. It’s a short tale with a happy ending that leaves you smiling. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
Yet again. I was VERY pleased with this author. I have loved the work of this author. This being her newest novel all I can say is well done. The sex....twists.... made me interested from the beginning until the end. All I wish was there was MORE! David was such an interesting character, and I just wanted to read more. I also love the paranormal theme that was through the story as well.
David does find small ways to lift his spirits such as taking walks and singing in the woods that surround the quaint cottage, he lives in. This is where Faine first sees him. He is immediately attracted to David which is somewhat confusing for him. Loved the characters and how the relationship developed between the two men. I found it to be a touching yet very real in some instances of how some people deal with life's harshness. I received an ARC of this story for my honest review.
Sweet and heartwarming tale about two men’s search for love
This is essentially a story about two men’s search for acceptance and their soul mates David lives on his own in a cottage in a forest and he yearns to be dominated by a daddy. As a little disclaimer in my sheltered upbringing I’ve heard of the world of littles and daddies until now. David is afraid to show that side of himself though until the magical guardian of the forest, Faine, catches him singing and falls in love with him. But with Faine resembling a 7 foot creature with antlers will David accept him for how he looks. I definitely recommend you read this book to find out. This was beautifully written and the authors sense of humour showed throughout.
Absolutely loved it!!! It's a unique Daddy book with an adorable, lonely Little and a Smitten mystical creature. I really loved the fairytale aspect of it. Such a sweet wonderful story!!!
I'm not entirely sure what I've read. I feel as though the author was on something or that maybe someone slipped me something when I wasn't looking because this book is like looking into a kaleidoscope as a kid. You know how it works but you still there staring at it, trying to work it out, whilst enjoying the pretty colours that's interweave. I feel like once the haze has worn off I might be able to make sense of it.
This book was such a cute, adorable, funny, enjoyable, steamy, delightful, fantastic, and totally awesome read. If you're looking for a lighthearted and endearing story, then I would definitely recommend getting this immediately!
Fun! David lives alone and spends a lot of time in his head. He longs for a forever person who will love him, hug him and care for him. Faine, noties David and is intrigued and enchanted. Faine, observes David and secretly courts him. Is David receptive? Does Faine understands David's behavior and role in the human world? This story, while a little different than the tease in the summary, is a bit better! David is many things. Is he enough to maintain Faine's interest? What does David think, when Faine reveals his true self? Absolutely enjoyable. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
To be true, some of you will hate this, some of you will love this. There is no in between! In years to come, this is definitely going to be a cult classic. I loved it. I’m as male as you come but I now want to try on a frilly corset! My wife does too. This is a fun, easy and enjoyable read. If you want to just try something different, unique, fresh, then go for this. You’ll either love it or hate it. Get your corset ready....
David's story at the beginning nearly broke my heart. Such a sweet person and so lonely. When he takes his walks in the woods, some really interesting things happen when Faine sees him. Loved Faine's journey as he tries to understand himself, David and what they can be together. A lovely, gentle blend of romance and fantasy.
David lived alone, lost in his own thoughts and fantasies, living his dream of being a 'little' but desparatly wanted to share this with someone, craving a 'daddy'. He travelled to work on a daily basis, returning home to his empty home, totally unaware that he was being watched and admired from afar! A great fantasy romance where two characters, poles apart in every which way, form a deep relationship that was craved by both. David is such a lovable character, with his sweet ways he just wants to be loved. Faine is a masterful being who knows what he wants and no-one else is going to stop him or suffer his wrath. A cute and heartwarming fairytale story, interspersed with steamy sexual scenes and humour that all blend together so well to form this intriguing and captivating read. Well written, a joy to read, another great book from this talented author!
I hadn't read the blurb, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I liked the build-up to David's character and the kinks he was into.
Faine was a strange character, but that's the fantasy side of this book. I liked the slow burn, but there seemed to be a lacking in the story of their actual relationship. It just needed something more for me.
Saying that I did read the entire book and enjoyed it, I just wanted a bit more. However, I do like the way Lily Lamb writes.
Daddy In Training (Playful Fantasy) Kindle Edition by Lily Lamb
David was an interesting character with a sad background. I don't know exactly how to express everything without containing spoilers. I did like the creative creature of Faine, bringing both a traditional fabled creature and placing a new twist on it. I felt it could have had another chapter at the end. That it ended too abruptly. But they still got their HEA which is what counts. It was well written and I connected well with the characters.
This was a sweet read about a Little wishing he had a Daddy to hold him and keep him safe and warm. David got more than what he wished for. Faine may not completely understand the human concept of Littles and Daddies, but he will get there. I would have liked to see more of his realm.
But a little s ad.. A lost boy no daddy and has problems in his life ..lonely and needing a daddy badly he dreams of a perfect daddy and lover... And he finds what he is looking for and a surprise also
