I was born to be a vampire hunter. In her days, my mother was known simply as "The Huntress." I had great expectations placed on my shoulders, even after she left the world of Paranormal Protection to raise me.I've never struggled to live up to them. I've only been hunting for a short time, but I have my own nickname. "The Vampire's Bane."Everything is going great, until I find something I never thought I would see, something that shakes me to my core. Vampires are heartless monsters, and they would never save a witch like me.Now, I'm on the run from the very council to which I swore my life.Even worse, I'm on the run with four infuriating (and sexy) vampires. Things couldn't possibly get any worse, right?Vampire's Bane is an enemies to lovers 18+ Paranormal Romance that includes MM themes in later books.
Finished in a day, it's a super quick read and there are areas where the plot suffers because of it. (Another couple reviews mention hopping into bed pretty much immediately, which isn't wrong.) There's also a need for a thorough re-editing of it, both for spelling mistakes and for continuity issues. (Hands that were in pockets a sentence before are all of a sudden holding things, etc.)
THAT SAID....I enjoyed this? None of the characters particularly annoyed me, although none were that in-depth either. It reminded me of my YA books of ol', which were easy to chew through and didn't require much brain power to keep track of 190 names and places and plot lines. I've been reading some hefty multi-book series and this was the perfect break in between...and it was such a nice break that I'm just rolling into the second book before going back to my heavy fantasy novel. One more day of a girl making out with a bunch of vampires doesn't sound bad to me!
Fast paced romance, editing errors, overall good start good story.
I’m not a”slow burn” romance fan but also not jump into bed immediately fan either. I guess I fall in between - I need a little more depth I guess. This was a very fast paced mating(s), the plot of the story is not there yet, the editing errors were very irritating to me but others may breeze past, overall start to good story. Definitely a cliff hanger.
Good start, good start. Character introductions are perfect, I'm hooked already to all 5 of them.
There were some bits where I would have BEGGED for more details and drawn-out scenes, but I digress. I'll take what I can get. And a couple minor muddled details, like how long they were holed up in Mr. Rich man's mansion.
I have high hopes for book 2 in the romance department and the big secrets to finally be revealed. Also, they keep mentioning dragons, and I really hope that what the authors other series are about. Because dragons? Yes Please!!!
So far I like this. The world building is slow, I still feel confused on things, but the characters are interesting and I love that the h is brave and can handle her own.
I gave it a shot bc of a tiktok spice scene. The scene itself was so short and underwhelming. This book has no down time to get to know the characters fully it’s fuck fight fuck fight. No fluff.
If that’s what ur into, go for it. Not for me. DNF series.
A super start to a series. Luce is great as main character, loving her harem. Lots of action and everyone against them. Already some twists and turns. Totally hooked on this well written engaging book.
I got this book because its outline was an example in Write a Book in a Week, and I was curious how it turned out. Paranormal isn’t really my thing, but it was interesting and suspenseful. It’s a little sloppy but overall, I liked it.
My first read by Alexis and won't be my last. I have to find out what happens next. I love vampires and this was a great start to the Vampire's Bane series.
Fantastic world! A missing letter here or there but intriguing magic system and characters so far! I love that it pulls you right in and has multiple POV.
I really enjoyed this book. However, I wish it was longer than it was.
There were a couple of spelling mistakes throughout the book, but nothing that took away from the overall experience.
This book has multiple POVs, which I always enjoy. We follow the bad ass witch called Luce, who is a vampire hunter. However, after a hot night with a vampire, she is accidently mated to him. Que all the other vampire hunters now hunting her. However, the 4 vampire men that she is with have her back.
I am definitely looking forward to the next book as this one does end on a cliffhanger.
