My name is Emory Raine Ivie, and I'm 16 years old. I was born in Texas, USA, but now I live on a small farm in North Carolina with my horse, Shadow, two dogs, a rescued cat, numerous ducks, chickens, geese, and guineas. In my free time, you can find me drawing, writing, playing with my animals, or listening to very loud, very upbeat Christian music.
I've had a passion for writing since I could hold a pencil (though I prefer to use a computer, now). I have a soft spot for all of God's creatures, which is why animals are the main subject of my writings - most specifically, horses. I'm currently working on the fourth book in my children's fantasy series, Legends of Saphirra, where I express my fascination with these beautiful creatures (in the forms of unicorns and pegasi). I love writing/drawing so passionately that I hope to pursue a career in screenwriting/storyboarding for animation in the future. I've been featured in several magazines, including Young Rider! I absolutely LOVE the freedom of writing fantasy. You don't have to follow the set rules of the universe - I love creating my own spin on traditional mythical creatures (for example, in my series, all pegasi are named after birds). My favorite book series is Harry Potter (I'm a Hufflepuff).
My word of encouragement to all young writers is to never give up! You will face obstacles as you journey through life, but with determination, you will persevere! God's got you and He's given you those talents for a reason!
