Rate this book
The seventh " Mountain Man" adventure from JJ Bonham has arrived!

Uzziah and his partner, Immanuel, got a tumbler pigeon message. They rode the two days to get to the settlement and who should meet them, but James Pierson Beckwourth. He wanted them to accompany him to the last buffalo run ever up in Montana Territory. T

They run into trouble – first the journey up there was nothing if not filled with danger and when they got there, both tribes were contentious. By the time the buffalo run occurred on the ancient mesa, tensions were high.

The buffalo run was a success, but the tribes became bellicose as things went awry.

All hell broke loose when the Blackfoot chief had the son of the Crow medicine man abducted. The Crow medicine man’s son had served as the buffalo runner. Both tribes prepared for battle, as Immanuel rode with Oscar Blanchard to get the medicine man’s son back.

Will Immanuel succeed? Will Oscar ever forgive his wife for saving their family by using her feminine wiles? Will the battle between two warring tribes be averted? And if not, will Beckwourth, a Crow War Chief himself, and the four white men make it back to safety and the peace of the settlement?

Join Uzziah and Immanuel as they step into unfamiliar territory and make their requisite amount of blunders and almost lose it all.
