“She’s missing,” Danica said. “For almost two weeks.”
For years, Alex Fossor travelled with the Visatori, a clan of hedge witches who lived off the grid, far from the Rimbault Society and its Edicts. When they abandoned him on the road, Alex never thought he'd see the nomadic mages again. But then an old flame shows up at his door, begging for help. The young girl Alex saw as a sister is missing, and he’ll have to put bitterness and hurt aside.
Alex’s quest to get her back to her family leads him into the city's grim underbelly, where human traffickers sell their wares to inhuman buyers. Where blood is the product no one is safe, but a necromancer’s wrath is inexorable, and Alex enlists the undead of the Gallows to bring about justice.
In a search that begins in the very sewers of the city right up to the glitzy world of the mage elite, who can Alex trust, and how far will he go to find someone he considers family?
MG Gallows lives in Alberta, Canada, where he stands in the frozen snow daring Australia's deadly, over-sized spiders to 'no, you c'mere'. He loves all things fantasy and horror, tabletop and video games.
For years, Alex Fossor travelled with the Visatori, a clan of hedge witches who lived off the grid, until they abandoned him. Alex never thought he'd see the nomadic mages again. Until one day an old girlfriend shows and asks for his help. A young girl that Alex considered to be like his baby sister is missing. Alex is lead into the worst of the worse areas of the city, where human traffickers are selling the young to serve as blood products for non-human beings. Human children are served to be blood syphons for the undead. He follows the trail from the very sewers of the city to the wealthiest of the wealthy. Who can Alex trust? How far will he go to save one of his own? M.G. Gallows is a talented and gifted author. This is a brilliant read ... well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with and wonderful world building. I highly recommend this novel. As Alex becomes closer to his necromancer side, he starts to realize what it means to be one. He is tasked to find someone he considers his sister by the woman who broke his heart. Not realizing what it was going to cost him, he agrees out of love. The residents of the Gallows decide to help him and he becomes closer to them, kinda like family. Alex makes some blunders along the way (some worse than others) but eventually saves the day. A well written story, can't wait to see what happens next.
