Trust Me is a sizzling hot and sexy read. It contains very detailed and explicit adult sex scenes, as one would expect in erotic literature. This novel's story and characters are fictitious. The storyline includes an age gap, new adult, saga, contemporary woman, romance, erotica, romance erotica, and fantasy. This romance follows the tropes of an alpha male. The male character is a lifestyle dominant, and there are BDSM themes built into this book.
He is a DOM looking for a new submissive.
She is a no-nonsense lawyer and the farthest thing from a submissive.
There are sparks and fire when their two worlds clash.
The female character is Natalia, an independent and high-powered lawyer. As her attraction towards her suitor, Marcelo, grows, her intense need to remain independent becomes a challenge. Initially, she brushed Marcelo off, considering him as some 'pup' wanting to bed her.
Marcelo is a lifestyle Master within the BDSM community. He is a charismatic and up-and-coming young architect who is thirty-three- and nine years Natalia's junior. It has been two years since he parted ways with his previous 'Pet,' and he has a desire to find someone fresh and not part of the existing community.
Update 2.0 Mr McNeil's writing and ethics are so inspiring. See below🙏🏻⬇️
Proof that Ace McNeil and Erotic Storm (the sexual predator banned from GR) is the same person: (kudos to Neela for being an FBI:review; rat pack is back, Mr. Storm🖕🏻 no amount of hiding and sneaking will help you x)
There is a lot of other evidence that shows those accounts were made by the same man (his behavior - harassing female readers in DMs + comments, similar bios and even almost identical reviews of Erotic Storm aka Ace McNeil left for Pam Godwin's book). If you want, you can see for yourself and compare.
📣More info about Erotic Storm's offences in Shawna (the girl he sexually harassed) and Tanaz's reviews for Carnal Submission; they're on top of the book page.
📣Lemme show you all the comments and his review he left under the Ace Mcneil pen name. He deleted them all yesterday in his desperate attempt to cover all the tracks but you know what mr Erotic Storm?? I made screenshots of everything you said. How lucky for you that I fucking hate sexual predators. 😇😇😇 You can thank me in the comment section mr Storm, don't be shy, I know you're stalking this review:)))
Guys, take a look at his review in which he called his female reader a troll and posted a link to her review so that..what? His other readers could bully her for her opinion?
His comments under very delicate negative reviews (Ace):
Not to sound creepy or anything, I have more screenshots. Mr Erotic Storm's erotica awoke my stalking habits;);)
Let me also remind you that my review has been hidden from the book's page because obviously protecting a misogynistic piece of author is more important than freedom of speech and the necessity to alert readers about a sexual predator. 🤡
❤️If you're not indifferent to the situation, share the knowledge in your mini-reviews /notes to self and/or warn your mutual with this "author" friends and/or report him to GR staff for harassment and/or like reviews that provide info about him (anna, neela, tanaz, shawna, JD's etc My review ans Anna's are the only ones so far that have been hidden 😂😂💀). Let's not support sexual predators (!!!) by allowing them to sneak on our favourite platform❤️ It's disheartening to see that I still have 9 mutual friends with him (but there were more than 20 mutual friends a few days ago, so there's that) 🥲🥲
🚮The complaint to Goodreads Staff has already been filed so hopefully soon they'll investigate the case and ban him from this platform like they already did in July (hurry tf up ❤️❤️❤️) so I can finally rest assured that GR streets are safe 😇
And if Goodreads doesn't take action, I'll make sure to rewrite my review in accordance with all the guidelines 🤩 so that no amount of reporting will help mr Erotic Storm take it down🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻 because everyone who comes across his crappy erotica has the right to know what kind of shitty books (❤️in my humble opinion ofc❤️) he writes (believe me I tried) while harassing, mansplaining and acting condescendingly towards his female audience.
Original review
This book was Erotic Storm of epic proportions. If you know, you know 💩🤡🤡
Don't be shy, guys, and go read the comments under negative reviews of this book (especially those ones: melanie's review and ashleyjo's review + his own "review" 🤡
and you'll find white male supremacy in its full glory there.
A perfect example of the simple fact: male supremacy cannot be cured.
I advise all of my friends to read the comments to this book AND remember a few lovely word exchanges between readers and a very entitled, creepy male author who called himself Erotic Storm (back then 🤥) (for example: flor's review)
that took place in July. 🤡 You'll find quite a few similarities between Erotic Storm and Ace Mcneil... evil twins?? 😇
Choosing to read this book should be an informed decision, my friends, 🙌🏻 because the author harasses his readers thinking he can easily get away with it, huh? 🙄
The author blocked me for no reason🤣🤣🤣 so I can't comment on his review.
Anyways mister, this is the song I'll be listening to when Jeffrey Bezos takes the time out of his very busy day counting $billions to read your email🤡 and bans you from Amazon for harrasment❤
Oh gosh, apparently Erotic Storm is back with a new name. Here's my review of his other book in case you didn't see it:
CW// NSFW
Please proceed with this author with caution. They kindly offered me a copy of their book. I agreed to read it but their messages soon got out of hand. I only responded to one of their messages yet they continued to message me things that made me more and more uncomfortable until the last straw happened last night... this was the message I received from them last night: "Maybe I should put you over my knee and smack you like I did in my book Immoral Gratification. I think you would like that Shawna." Agreeing to read a book for an author is in no way agreeing to receive overly sexual messages from them. Read this book if it interests you, but if the author messages you, please be careful.
And Goodreads, I'm only posting this to protect other readers. While I am grateful you took action when this author initially harassed me, allowing this man to stay on this site using other pen names puts reviewers and readers at risk of being harassed by this man. There's also not a star rating in this review so that it doesn't impact the book's overall star rating so that there's no reason to take the review down. I'm just trying to protect people on this site in any way I can.
Note to self: I will not read this book. Author contacted me to read, and I politely declined on the author’s own review of the book. Author questioned why I have erotica on my reading interests, insinuating that I must be misrepresenting my interests if I’m not interested in this erotica book. Pet niches aren’t my brand of erotica. After checking other reviews, I found this author is a bully… belittling, berating, and attacking reviewers for sharing their opinions and experiences. Unprofessional.
Reminding myself to never read this author as you can see from other reviews he bullies people who don't enjoy his book.. and I see him bully many of my friends so please do yourself a favor don't accept his friend request ignore the manchild.
This author attacks me and several others who called out his harassment and misogyny on his Twitter feed. Because he links to our reviews, you really have to question the intelligence of someone who provides hard evidence of his own bad behavior. Interesting that he doesn't mention that GR banned him... ____________________________________
BTW, Mr. McNeil: When are you going to address the "Erotic Storm" charges? Because so far you...haven't.
ETA: There is no reason to believe that this person heard back from Amazon. Just like there is no reason to believe that this person is an expert on BDSM. Just like there is no reason to believe that this person is an expert on Erotica. Just like there is no reason to believe that this person is first-time author Ace McNeil and he's being "trolled." Really, no one needs to believe any of this.
11/04 (Hopefully Final) ETA: He's no longer a member of GR.
"'Pet,' you are a proud woman, no matter what role you're playing. Unless I tell you otherwise, your position is with your head held high. Be proud of what you are and proud that you are mine."
After discussions with the author I was excited to read Trust Me. I absolutely love the artistic, sexy cover as their are way too many covers of bodies out there in my opinion. After reading the dig about Fifty Shades of Grey I thought, finally there is someone on the same page as me. In my opinion it was one of the most overrated books on the market and the movies were even worse. The products listed at the end of the book are a great idea for a visual. I’d of liked it if when reading and the aid was mentioned, one could hit the link and go from story to picture and back.
Sadly I struggled with this book and it just wasn’t for me! An author regardless of whether they are male or female has a story to tell and I respect it is their story not mine. Although I do love reading various genres, as a woman I am looking for some romance and an emotional connection. Unfortunately I didn’t relate with the characters and on reflection I feel it was due to a lack of conversation between them. It almost felt like I was reading a clinical tutorial from Marcelo’s POV. With further character development and more sharing of their lives outside of the bedroom it could of been a great debut book. It’s a good place to begin and leaves room for growth.
Sadly this didnt work for me. Choice of language in some descriptions I found odd and didn't quite believe in their relationship. Explanations at the end of the read were unnecessary almost felt like trying to prove knowledge.
I’m not sure all readers will get this story if they think going in it’s a contemporary romance and although love eventually comes it’s not what this story is about. This is an erotic, sensual and very sexual read so please read with an open mind. It’s also an age gap, younger man, older woman, consensual dominant and submissive relationship.
For me the crux of Trust Me is the seduction and submission of self and not only Natalia’s submission to Marcelo as his Pet, although that does come. I could separate love and romance from what Marcelo wanted for Natalia and I don’t think romance initially needed to play a role in this story although I did love Marcelo’s desire to woo Natalia. There’s language used that in some circumstances could be offensive but in this story it fits the characters and their chosen lifestyle. There was a point when Natalia fully understood what true submission was but also a point when she realised she held the power. But it wasn’t just Natalia who needed to submit and trust and when they both came to this realisation the rewards in their new relationship followed.
The title really says it all! So if sensual erotica is your jam then trust and submit to where the author is taking you and enjoy the ride. Congratulations on your debut and the monologue is a great inclusion for every couple.
From the book:
‘In Natalia Marcelo can see someone strong with a need to submit. Someone who will cherish the pleasure he gives her and give pleasure in return.’
“Trust is the foundation of our relationship. I must trust you and you must trust me.”
Disturbingly satisfying ride to PleasureVille Resistance is not always a good thing. So, bend before you break. Trust Me is an illustrious feast for women who want to realize their sexuality and for men who wish to give the possible high to the women in their life. Undoubtedly, a give-in to rise-up experience throughout! Triggers like Pet, Slut, Whore, and maybe others that I didn’t care to catch were not the same for me. If taking in a pet is powerplay, is that what pet owners are doing? Is it demeaning to be a pet? So that is what we do when we get a pet? No. We have pets to bring discipline to our lives and a sense of responsibility. Not to mention, it is also to feel loved. That is what Marcelo strived to be to Natalia in Trust Me. A Dom to an otherwise domineering woman. Natalia is a highly successful woman, but she is equally disappointed when it comes to sexual relationships. Marcelo is a young and comparably successful man who introduces Natalia to the world of BDSM. Completely resistant and somewhat doubtful of this new lifestyle, she understandably rejects Marcelo. After four months of contemplating and fighting the idea, she gives in. And why not? How much control do we as women need when it comes to our sex? It was liberation from the pressure of always being in control that Natalia let go of when she submitted to Marcelo as his Pet. If you are a woman who wants to tire herself out by always being on top, by all means, move along. This is not the book for you. But if you're going to try something out of your expertise, then give complete control to the professional. Like you do when you board a plane. It is not that you cannot do the job with proper training, but the trust you put in an expert. Trust Me is about the exploration of a high from submission. Trusting the authority with absolute abandon. Only then can you experience it in its entirety. Natalia made a brilliant and bold move by giving in to the attraction she felt towards Marcelo. He gave her what she was sordidly missing in her forty-two years of a successful but empty life. Pleasure!
At first I wasn’t sure about this, but the more I read I couldn’t put it down. It was refreshing that it was a younger man going after an older woman. It was very educational regarding BDSM life style. I know I will be judged because I read this book. Knowledge is power & brings understanding. You may not understand this lifestyle but you can’t deny that if with the right person there is respect caring & love. Nice to loose yourself in a fantasy.
Please bear with me on star rating. An honest and unbiased review for Ace McNeil on offering his read.
Love the dedication to woman around the world. This read, firstly let’s comment on the book cover is hot and intriguing. The concept of the storyline is based on Trust. Quote “Trust must come first. Little else matters”
It appears in the beginning a chase of cat and mouse. The seduction has come to play and play it will. A slow yet leading Dom/? Pet-Submissive/??Slave. I’m opting on title of ‘Pet’ as will become clearer as you read along. Major factor for both Marcelo & Natalia is TRUST. An emotion they both take seriously yet in different context to themselves. This read is not a Dom/Pet - Slave - Sub abusive read. It’s a lifestyle where Trust & Respect is shared between each person. Natalia has to overcome not the age difference between them but understanding and releasing her power to someone younger than her who won’t also hurt her emotionally. Can she willingly do this? What steps will Marcelo take to prove to her she will be his Pet? Marcelo, a Dom is introducing Natalia as his Pet, who of the 2 is taking their positions in its true form? I question Natalias understanding, which leads me to question their situation!
When is ‘Darling’ an appropriate term of use? Though this reads as a BDSM story, the endearment of ‘Darling’ for me doesn’t fit this story. ‘Darling’ feels as though it shouldn’t be present. (This by Natalia). Which then took me to an up and down effect for me, questioning the feel of the storyline. No disrespect to Ace and his work.
Overall, Ace’s work is new to me. At times, read as a third person or as an audio. There were enlightening sections throughout but at stages I almost felt like giving up. No disrespect to Ace and his work for all authors are to be congratulated for their work. There we’re signs of a strong BDSM storyline then it became a romance. This is why I’m unfortunately reviewing at 3 stars.
Will there be a continuation? Only time will tell. Do check monologue at the end of book. You will comprehend why throughout the book references to ‘picture 1’ etc.
Great Story, Good Character Development. Worth the Read Even with the editing/prodding needs
First let me get the technical stuff out of the way, because in spite of these issues, it was a well told story. Editing and proofing is sorely needed as there are some typos, misspelled or misused words and punctuation issues. Also, I suspect the author's first language may not be English because there are: 1. Inaccurate adages, e.g. "pull the shots" instead of "call the shots". 2. Phrases in sentences seemed like they should be reversed. (For example, a statement made by a character followed by that characters thought or reason for the statement, then he/she said to or told so and so.) It was sometimes confusing and seemed like something was missing, particularly when the thought/reason was lengthy, and initially required reading it again to understand correctly. Once you understand that pattern and get used to it, it's not too bad. I hope the author gets some editing done because honestly, it was a good story.
Now, to the good parts, the story itself.... This is a different kind of BDSM story and one written by a man, so we get a male's perspective on the subject. The actual premise of the story is of a woman's journey into the lifestyle so their first sexual encounters do not involve typical BDSM elements/scenes...that comes much later in the book.
She is a wealthy, forty-ish, successful, high-powered attorney who meets a younger (30-ish), successful Architect who is a Dom. He has lived the lifestyle since his college years, but has grown bored with with the typical "immature, pain sluts" that frequent his club. He has been without a sub for a while, looking for something different when he first spots the h at a charity function. Their first encounter is interesting as she deems him too young, but "boldy refreshing". But he sees something in her and is too intrigued to give up easily.
Their journey together is not an easy one. He is used to dealing with subs already in the lifestyle or training pain sluts, so dealing with such a successful, driven woman who is used to controlling everything is a new experience for him, so mistakes are made. Once she gets past the age thing, she is attracted to, and wants him, but she has fears about the lifestyle and giving up control is not easy for her. A previous relationship that ended badly has left her hesitant to let go with a man again, plus she fears losing the herself; the powerful, confident woman she is, if she gives up control. But she also has a fierce desire to please him and fears losing him if she disappoints him.
The author did an excellent job of making you feel their emotions; her insecurities, fears, and heartbreak when she feels she's failed him or disappoints him, as well as his contrition and worry that he might lose her when he thinks he's failed her or that he might have pushed her too far too fast. Their journey, as well as the sexual scenes are interesting to read from a man's perspective and surprisingly emotional coming from a male writer. We are so used to reading dark romances/bdsm stories from female authors, but there are few males that write in this genre and I have always wondered how their perspective might differ. I think Ace McNeil did an job handling this subject and did so in a realistic manner. He made both characters seem human.
I had some email conversations with the author before reading this book. He warned me it wasn't an emotional romance. I think he's wrong. It is certainly a romance when you have a man and woman finding each other and getting their HEA, and it was definitely and surprisingly emotional. For the story telling and character development I giv this a solid 4.5 stars, but have to deduct 1 for the editing issues I mentioned in the beginning. So 3.5 stars. Still even with these issues, it is worth the read if you enjoy bdsm stories. This one is definitely more unique and emotional than most.
I believe this is this author's first publication (self-published) and I think he has talent in telling a good story. I hope he keeps writing (and gets a good editor).
Do you ever pick up a book knowing exactly what you’re going to read? You think, “This is going to be a (another dominant/submissive)” and then you start reading and realize you were one hundred percent, right? Yeah, this is NOT that book #sorrynotsorry! The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! Can’t say I didn’t warn you. Natalia is intelligent, beautiful, always on the defense (to protect herself) tough working in a male dominated world as a high profile attorney, and independent (she doesn’t think she needs anyone until…… 😊). Marcelo sexy as all get out architect, self-assured, believes in his ability and his dominance (who loves the control but also the freedom it allows). Both are at a party neither wants to be attending but part of the demands of their job when he notices the work of beauty that stops him. Natalia is board out of her mind at the event and just trying to stay long enough to be called an appearance until the arrogant man takes her glass and offering her a new glass of champagne with an air of confidence offering to show her the most beautiful view of the building. Oh and of course he is right which kind of ruffles her feather so to speak add to that she is older than him and thinks like an attorney (yep can’t say you didn’t see the confrontation coming 😊 of course the dominate isn’t going to allow it). So, with that being said it is a journey where he doesn’t want to take her down a notch or two but to show her that she is so much more. Marcelo is a Dom in the BDSM world, and he sees possibility with her becoming his Submissive add to that he loves challenges (what Dom wouldn’t) and knowing his Natalia will definitely be worth it but will she allow herself to let go and where is it all headed just a submissive and her dom or something more.
So the writing was off. It was disconnected and not climatic at all. I started to read some reviews and every last one of them said to stay away. Yes the author contacted me for a review, but it wasn’t as in appropriate as the other readers experiences. Due to my being uninterested in the book from the start, and the reviews, I just decided to not finish.
I really enjoyed reading about Natalia’s journey into BDSM and becoming a submissive. I loved how the age gap is a mature older women and younger man. This was a well written and very, very sexy story. I hope we get a continuation of Marcelo and Natalia’s journey.
Natalia is a high profile lawyer and is beautiful, Marcelo is a building designer and a Dom. When Marcelo sees Natalia he must have her and he does everything to get her. Slowly he is bringing her in to his fold and teaches her about Trust and BDSM. The hot scenes are definitely hot, but halfway I found it difficult to stay invested. There is a lot of sex scenes in my opinion too much. I think this story gets better when shortened.
I read this book with curiosity, it wasn't my usual genre but the foreword did promise alot. Firstly I think Marcelo was a worthy made lead and that Natalia also read well. However as the book progressed I realised I liked them both separately and they didn't connect as a couple for me. The language they used towards each other was cold, distant and formal. The change happened too fast, Natalia did go from courthouse savage to crying in a ball on the floor. That didn't work for me. I also didn't like the picture Inserts, it made the book less fiction and more instruction manual. I did like the subplot of the power within Marcelo's club and wish more of this has been explored. I have a feeling that both characters were just too perfect for me, I needed some flaw in order to connect.
3.5 stars for me. I don’t want to be too critical but the storyline kinda felt off (flat). I understand all the BDSM parts and that sex scenes are a must however there should be a storyline to go with it. This has one to a point but unfortunately I couldn’t really connect to it or the characters. I guess I just couldn’t get into it as much as I’d hope too. I believe if there would’ve been more monologue between the two characters it could’ve been improved. Overall not a bad start and leaves room for the authors growth. I did like the age gap, especially her being older and that they both had successful careers. I love the cover!!
I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This book delves explicitly into the BDSM lifestyle and all it entails. Marcelo has been looking for a submissive and meets Natalia a lawyer who prides herself in maintaining control in her professional life. This is their journey…Marcelo will teach Natalia about the lifestyle. This book was meant to teach the reader about BDSM as well as being a romance book. Well done.
My first experience with this author. I really enjoyed the story line. The characters and the anticipation leading up to finally submitting. The info was intriguing. I had a hard time following the format in first person. Entertaining and enjoyable.
We are introduced to Marcelo and Natalia, both successful, career orientated and fiercely independent individuals looking for more than just an average, mundane relationship.
Marcelo a Dominant, takes Natalia out of her comfort zone. As he takes her gently by the hand, he introduces and guides her into his BDSM lifestyle. Natalia, apprehensively accepts as she cautiously steps into a new and exciting world to becoming a submissive, where she rides a rollercoaster of emotions as she struggles with her own internal battles.
The steamy, erotic intimate scenes have been beautifully written and presented by the author, giving a believable level of passion, tenderness and sensuality which develops between the two characters.
The book cover is eye-catchingly different, intriguing and piques your interest. Also the monologue at the end of the book will be appreciated by many women!
This is not a novel in the conventional sense, nor what you'd probably be expecting, but is based solely on their developing relationship, which makes this novel a refreshingly different take on a BDSM read.
I look forward to reading future books by Ace McNeil and hopefully a sequel to Trust Me.
I enjoyed that both characters have known life and choose this. I had a harder time reading because conversations were not written like they would be spoken. The perspective from Natalia to Marcello jumped back and forth making continuity not always fluid.
Tales of lust and discovery. This isn't your usual story of lust and submission. Here you witness a controlled mature woman give into desires she doesn't know she has or wants. I would like to see more from this author.
Now we all love a sexy alpha male; And Marcelo is one of them. A hard-working young man that reaps what he sows. He knows how to get exactly what he wants. AND to top it off he is a Dominant/ Master...
Natalia is a gorgeous, sassy lawyer. A woman that does not allow any man to push her around nor tell her what to do. She likes being the modern, independent woman but that becomes difficult once Marcelo enters the picture.
Trust Me is a good read, giving you a glimpse of the BDSM community from a Dominant himself.
This author has been harassing me and spamming my inbox for months after I promised him I will read the book. I was about to read his book today in fact, but I couldn’t find the book on Scribd (thank god I actually never planned on reading it). I don’t know whether he blocked me or he deleted his account because I cannot find any of messages of his spamming my inbox. Anyways also heard the whole situation and it sounds exactly like the EROTICSTORM guy. F*** you! Ladies, don’t read NA/Erotic Romance books created by men!
