It breaks my heart that Marcille has been shouldering so much on her own this whole time. I can't blame her at all for her dream. It makes me all the happier that she has such a good support system.

It's so interesting how "desire" works, and the way that this series discusses it. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I know there have been times where I've just wanted something so badly, but then when I get it quickly and easily, I don't care that much anymore. Just like with exploring the dungeon, the precious and special part isn't just in reaching the destination, but it's in the journey itself. If you could get to the destination -- the heart of you desire -- quickly and easily, then there wouldn't be anything special or alluring about the dungeon in the first place.

I definitely saw this exemplified in the Dungeon Lord arc that Marcille went on. Laios helped her understand that even though tragedy and death is the hardest thing to go through, happiness stems from it. Every cloud really does have a silver lining. Of course, Laios would never wish Falin to be hurt or killed in any way, but it is objectively true that the misfortune that befell Falin led to them having a wonderful adventure and coming closer as a group. Just as well, when Laios and the others eventually die, that won't be the end of Marcille's world, and it won't be the end of her happiness either... she has to stick around to be able to see it.

This message is truly one that makes me feel so happy and uplifted. No pain is for nothing, and great suffering can lead to wonderful circumstances. It strengthens my heart to read a story with such excellent theming like that.

The dungeon has a new master, and the many different factions of the dungeon are facing off against each other as the race is on to protect, redeem, contain, or destroy her. It's so action-packed they barely have time to cook a single meal . . .

I'm not sure if this is heading toward a finale, but the next volume should bring a major turning point at the very least.

I am flabbergasted by how things have turned out to be, so far. With a new Lord of the Dungeon, everything is going chaotic.

It was nice to see how the people that The Party has helped throughout their journey, have come together in the time of need. Really gives off a good message too.

Today is a sad day bc I caught up with this manga and I want MORE... definitely one of the best things I've read this year. The writing and story were wholesome and soo funny, the characters and all the cooking stuff were so charming, I want to know more about everyone we meet, and man this mangaka can DRAW it was so inspiring! Predictably I liked the early chapters more than the plot heavy stuff in the later chapters but aaaa I need more

I can’t believe that Marcille fucking turns into Mister Freeze. Also her incessant need to make everything kind of cutesy is very funny.

Chil yelling at Laois that Kabru sacrificed himself to buy them time to escape and Laois being like “but dinner??? 😰”

Everyone roasting baby Marcille for the spaghetti with salt and that’s my fucking comfort food aghhh. And the “you run faster than everyone else - you’re going to have to watch lots of people go away” ughhhh. Shoutout to the lion for giving her the evil power of Looking Hot though.

Mithrun being angy at Kabru noooooo. But of course Kabru has a plan to escape (and continuing faith in Laois).

The Marcille versus Mithrun fight SLAPPED. The undines and Mithrun GETTING what it feels like to be puppeted by a demon and his last words being “No good, huh?” and Marcille blowing his fucking head off…. Chef’s kiss.

Laois having his realization that The Dungeon is Bad and Kabru strangling him like YES I TOLD YOU THAT MULTIPLE TIMES OVER AND OVER ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? But then Kabru trusting him and walking away when the lion offers his deal… and Laois swooping in to save him from the dragon after he starts getting flashbacks to Utaya.

Marcille being off the deep shits and still not condoning Izutsumi’s quest for revenge lmaoo

Aghh the last chapter was so sweet and dumb and sad and I care all those idiots very much.

A chaotic volume as the dungeon edges towards the point of no return. I don't think it's a reach when I say the gang basically saved Marcille with the power of friendship.

Honestly, this entire series is getting a five star from me, but this volume in particular has some astounding two page spreads. Kui really knocked it out of the park and I’m so excited to see how things wrap up!

So the story is ending in a bit of a rush, which is understandable since it's like 14 vols.
Still a bit salty that Kabru and Laios friendship was going too fast and that Marcilles half Elf heritage suddenly popped up and her desire of all races life spans overshadowed her interest of creating a dungeon for environmental reasons.
I hope that the Orcs are ok, though, in the end, and I'm kinda laughing at how supposedly the Cannaries are these "badass" elves who are super important, but Laios and his company overtake them.

That was really good. A bit less trippy than the previous book. Silly but in a way that serves the story. There is some philosophy here. What is good and what is evil kind of stuff but it doesn't get too bogged down. Pretty much anyone we've ever me before is in this. And the back story also explains where we get to. And the story itself starts to resolve, though it takes the whole book to get there. 4.5 of 5
