I consider myself blessed I'm able to do this for a living. I live for fantasy books as a reader and author. I adore books like An Ember in the Ashes, The Night Angel Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Great Library series...I could go on.
Before I write I have four young humans I keep alive and love them to the stars and back again. I live in Utah with my sexy husband, the kiddos, two paranoid dogs, and a sinister cat. Between finishing a second degree, running a business, and eating too much chocolate, I love writing early in the morning when no one is awake. If you can't tell, I basically function on caffeine.
Teagan & Jade set up a home in the new sanctuary as they figure out the next steps. They decide who goes after the remaining stones. Donovan disappears & comes back trying to attack everyone. They have to try to clear all the night energy from his system. Gaia tries to clear her energy after Ced saved her. She now has night energy. She just won't except it. Teagan learns what happens when you don't use protection. I have no idea why it took everyone so long to figure it out. I mean she was moody & nauseous. As a woman it should be the first thing that pops in your mind! Next they decide to start searching for other magis to join their cause. They needed an army to take down King Nag & Bron. While searching for them Nag gets impatient & starts burning towns looking for their hiding spot. Teagan & Jade finally hold a mating ceremony. It turns out a dragonmage only takes 5 months before they are born. And Teagan & Jade will need to take a number if they want to hold their child after that. Meanwhile Teagan is keeping secrets again. He sneaks off after Jade falls asleep. He's trying to protect his new family. Will Jade accept his deceit or be mad as hell? You can bet one thing she won't stay where he put her & the baby. Especially, since he told her he saw a premonition that he dies. Which is exactly what Gaia said as well. However, Jade shows up after Teagan is hurt & she helps hold off Bron while she tries to heal him as well. And Gaia is revealed from her hiding spot (shocking Bron who thought he killed he) tricking Bron into the spot they need him. Onyx was captured but everyone assumed he died in that fight. Bron twists & turn dark magic & night magic into him. Of course, he is after where Onyx hid his stone. He never breaks but is sent to hunt his friends. Bron has convinced him Teagan & his friends were the ones that captured him. His brothers caused him to pause in his crazy brainwashing. However, when Ruby walked in & kissed him that brought him out of it. They were able to clear him of most of it. I love that there is a 25 years later epilogue. Where you get to see who mated with who & hear about their kids. You know just in case the author reads this you could do a great adventure spin-off with the kids. That way we learn all about their powers.
This KU library selection is a great conclusion to the Dragon Mage saga. Teagan has come a long way from the rebellious teen who was sentenced by the court to attend Wyvern Reform in Wyvern Willows. There he met two older reforms, Mitch and Graham, and the warden of the Reform Home, Sapphire. But the person who had the most impact, who challenges him to break Sapphire's rules, is Jade, a student at Wyvern High where the reforms also attend.
Jade Drake is seventeen going on eighty seven. Her parents were killed in the war of the ages after being betrayed by their mage, who had allied with their enemy, King Nag. And she's been trapped in her human form for years to prevent their dark magic from finding her and the other royals. But she has felt change in the air, and knows it's because of Teagan, a human boy who sets her blood on fire.
As time has passed, the final battle, the one to end it all, approaches. Jade and Teagan have grown in their abilities and strengths. They are surrounded by family, friends, and allies. But they also have their weaknesses. Will the dragon mage and his queen be strong enough to face King Nag and his High Priest, the traitor? And to stand?
Lucky me. I just finished a glorious binge read on the most recent additions to Dragon Mage, LJ Andrews’ really wonderful dragon shifter fantasy series. The Prince of Night (Book 4) and The Mage of Kings (Book 5) we’re just what is needed for this kind of a series, books which have well written plots in themselves while also doing a great job advancing the overall series story arc. Fans of this series will be very happy. The dragon mage might not have ever supposed to exist but Teagan is here, his tie to Jade is here, and woe to any who stand in the way, be they Prince of Night or anyone else. The final battle is nigh - and by book 5 the series will end in epic fashion. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
This is the battle to end all battles. They have a plan in mind but it will be risky. There are plenty of surprises in this the final book of the series and it's going to be a battle to the death. They will need all hands on deck. They will need to find the other stone first and set a trap. This ending is as exciting as the first book and even by the end you are still unable to breathe without fear of what will happen next. Don't blink because something might happen. Anticipation is high and so are the stakes. This author does not disappoint. The action and mayhem will keep you spinning and racing towards the end. I love this author and her books. She is definitely one of my go to authors for thrill and chaos and so much more.
Ms Andrews work just keeps getting better and better with each new book she writes. This one was one of the best by far. The tension during the battles left me exhausted. They were written so well I could picture each fight. I felt tears in my eyes at happy news and sad news. The warriors and royals grow in strength although potential dire circumstances threatens to overwhelm them. Very dramatic! As I read towards the end of this book I kept thinking that this would make for an excellent movie, one that would leave the audience in tears of sorrow and also tears of joy for that is what I felt. Write on Ms Andrews, write on!
I really enjoyed this series. Teagan and Jade have grown so close and refuse to give up on a future together. This last book brings good closure to the storyline.
The action and adventure make for an exciting read and the romance warms your heart. I enjoyed getting to know the characters thru the series. Teagan has really changed and grown into a strong man who knows what he wants. He has the chance at a real family. Jade is ready to lead with the man she loves.
As usual, LJ never disappoints me. I hang off every line, every chapter, every book. I can't pick my favourite series by LJ because they are all fantastic stories. I hate coming to the end of a book or series though because the characters are wonderful & I always find I can envisage them in my minds eye as if they are real & not fictional. LJ is my favourite author though, that much I can honestly admit.
Oh what a marvellous book this was. Full of joy, laughter, terror and battles. I found myself laughing and crying with the characters. Such a strongly written story. I get blown away with every single word that this author has written. So grab your copy, and let us find out whether the peace everyone so desperately wants happen, or will King Nag and the Dark Priest win. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed all four books in this series by L.J.Andrews.
Each book gets you more into the different supernaturals and how they evolved. Starting with a basically a juvenile delinquent type behavior and leading into finding out who you are. Add young love and then dark magic and overcoming odds to finally bring about alignments with other supers and humans.
What an AMAZING finish to the series!!!! Thouroughly enjoyed this from start to finish, all tied up perfectly, tears in my eyes at times, edge of my seat even more, truly a pleasure to read!!!
This is such a good story! The plot is very well written and the story itself is really entertaining. Ms. Andrews has an incredible imagination. You won’t be sorry to buy this book.
This was a powerful finale. I had tears in my eyes at the end. It brought out all kinds of emotions and took me on a monumental roller coaster ride. Beautifully written.
What an adventure these books are! I loved them! LJ is now one of my favorite authors she has a beautiful imagination that made these books so fun to read!
A brilliant end to a fantastic series. Gaia, Thane, jade, Teagan, amber, Ced, Mitch, Raffi… I’m going to miss these guys… I want more of them from the author
