Dragon Daddy

'Dragon Daddy' by Jean Stokes is the second book in her Adams' Claw series and tells the story of Shelia, single mom to Brogan, and Mike, an actor and dragon shifter. Sheila and Mike had a relationship five years ago then he left to be an actor. After Mike had moved away Shelia discovered she was pregnant but decided not to tell Mike and raise their son on her own and was doing a fabulous job. Now Mike is back in town and Sheila doesn't know what she should do. Brogan is at the age that he is asking about his father. Should she introduce Mike to his son?

Mike is back in town because his cousin has asked him for help with the Unicorp situation. He is interested in seeing his ex-girlfriend again while in town. The day after he gets to town he runs into Sheila while driving to Luke's house. Getting out of his car he walks over to talk to her and sees a child in the back seat. He realizes right away that the child is his son. He is determined to have a relationship with his son and hopefully with Sheila.

Ms. Stokes has written an excellent addition to her series. The story has likable characters, a wonderful plot, and fab world building. The book flows with drama, secrets, laughs, passion, and plenty of heat. I loved how Sheila put Brogan first in her life. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend.

Can He Convince Her To Give Him A Second Chance?

Emily is raising her son Brogan in Adams Claw. His father broke up with her so he could go to LA and start his acting career. She knew being a father wasn’t in the cards so she never told him she was pregnant. Five years later he suddenly shows up in town.

Mike is back in Adams Claw to help his parents fight Uni Corp, to keep it from destroying their town. He wonders if he will see his old girlfriend Emily while he is there. He hasn’t ever forgotten her but his acting career has come first in his life since he left town. When he sees her the very first day he pulls over to talk to her. He sees her son in the back seat and immediately knows he is his father. To say he is shocked is an understatement. While he is trying to work things out with Emily his mother has decided she is going to find him the perfect dragon mate. When Gloria starts showing up all the time at his house, despite him telling her he isn’t interested, things get even more complicated. When Mike releases the video he made about Uni Corp and they start getting pressure and press from Mike’s fans, Uni Corp starts threatening him and his family. How can he work things out with Emily and Brogan when he is afraid to be seen with them so they don’t get targeted by Uni Corp. Sometimes a dragon has to make tough choices!

Mike left Sheila almost 5 years ago to focus on his acting career - he didn’t have room in his life for his girlfriend. When Sheila discovered she was pregnant, she decided she could raise her baby on her own. She’s worked hard to be both Mom and Dad to 4 year old Brogan.

Mike wants to reconnect with Sheila and meet his son, but he’s worried about UniCorp - he’s been threatened, and he wants to protect his new-found family.

I enjoy Ms. Stokes' books, love her writing. She's the one that introduced me to shifter romance! But I really couldn't get caught up in the characters of this book. I was disappointed in it.

Sheila and Mike were high school sweethearts. Mike wanted to go to Hollywood and become an actor. Even though she was pregnant Sheila didn't want to tell him and have Mike think he had to stay. She didn't want him to end up resenting her and their child down the road. She tells no one who the father is and raises Brogan with her sister.

Mike is in town to help with Uni Corp, a corporation that is trying to buy out the town and pretty much terrorizing the people who won't sell. He sees Sheila and Brogan and realizes that Brogan is his.

I simply couldn't get caught up in Sheila and Mike's story. Even what Uni Corp was doing couldn't get me to want to turn the pages. An unusual circumstance in a Ms. Stokes book!

Jean Stokes has done it again. She’s created an idyllic little town, gave us a a man and a woman to work through their issues, all while evil lurks. This time that it’s dragons makes it so much hotter!

billionaire dragon faux-paranormal

Sheila is a single mom of a four year old boy, her boyfriend left her for Hollywood before she knew she was pregnant. She never tried to get in touch with him as she did not think he would want to be a dad as he did not want to settle down.

Mike returns to Adams' Claw during a break from filming to help aid in the fight against UniCorp, in hope that his celebrity would shine a bigger light on it. He sees Sheila near a friends house and the little boy in the back seat and know that it his child.

This is the second in the Adams' Claw series, a second chance at love for Sheila & Mike. This book steamy with lots drama around misunderstandings between the two main characters. Looking forward to the next installment in the series.

1.5 stars. The fact he's a dragon shifter is completely irrelevant. The couple scenes where he turns into a dragon are inconsequential. Take them out, make him human, and nothing changes in the story. There's basically no world building, and zero character development. The relationship between these two was so meh. He is "not ready to settle down", until basically the epilogue when he proposes, which felt like that was about the couple in the next book or something, because they didn't even say "I love you". They say "I really like you" and "I care for you", but that's not necessarily love. I mean, I can say the same to my friends, and I'm not proposing to them. He treats her as a doormat, she lets him do it, and forgives him way too easily. Also, the writing style felt immature, the dialogues were stiff, and none of the conflicts are solved before the epilogue takes you by surprise.

Sheila and Mike were HS sweethearts, but he wanted Hollywood fame, she found she was pregnant. She never told him and let him go. Mike comes back a few years later to visit his family and to maybe hook up with Sheila for a few days. This is where I disconnected with these characters. Mike felt like a selfish, self centered, ego maniac, worried about his next shot at fame. It really felt like he didn't care for Sheila other than a place to "dip his wicket". And Sheila felt really desperate to me. Not my favorite couple, but you can read it for FREE along with the rest of the Adam's Claw series, with your KU subscription.

This steamy, paranormal Book 2 in The Adams' Claw Book Series has a wonderfully constructed world with an independent single mom and a hot protective, alpha dragon shifter. This interesting book takes place in a small Western town and has really strong characters who belong together. Theses characters are passionate, protective and full of personality. This story are well-crafted with well-developed scenes. These characters come together and are brought to Life with amazing chemistry. A must read. I cannot wait to read more and find book 1 to read.

Mike is an actor, he is asked to come back to Adams Claw to help with the Uni Corp problem. What he doesn't realise is that his ex girlfriend has been keeping a secret from him. He is a father and when he sees Sheila again he realises that her son is his and wants to have relationship with him. But their attraction to each other is still there, but will Sheila want to start up a relationship after he chose his career over her before.
I enjoyed this story and would recommend reading it.

The author has given us a wonderful second chance story that pulls us into the lives of Mike, dragon, and Sheila, human, and her son, Brogan. Mike and Sheila had a relationship years ago but he left her to follow his dream of becoming an actor. He returns to town to try to help the residents and runs into Sheila. Will this be their second chance? The story keeps you turning the pages with danger, misunderstandings and love.

This small town dragon saga continues. Mike returns home to help the town fight the UnI Corp take over. With his high profile status as an actor he hopes he can bring the company down by exposing their plans publicly. Sheila never thought Mike would return back home and discover the son he knew nothing about. But as soon as he see the little blond boy he knows it’s his son. Just didn’t like how this story ended. Too many unanswered questions.

Nice story

I liked that the story was about a strong woman, who, one way or another, she was raising her son to be a good person. She had a good support system in her sister, and having a 4 year old, with no help is a chore. I was surprised that it didn't go the usual route, of once he finds out he has a child, the whole world stops for him. Nothing will stop the family from connecting. His parents were, species bigots. They should have little "half breed" as they called children from Dragons and human women, become a super powerful Dragon, and denounce them as grandparents.

This book is good I love the characters and the storyline is great . Sheila is a single mother who is doing everything for her child . Mike likes to have fun and partying all the time . An old friend who needs Mike help in the fight against sinister Uni Corp. Can two old flames come together and work out their differences for the sake of their child .

Book two of the Adam's Claw series. Here we meet two new characters that use to be together but had walked away from one another. Now with a ongoing problem in Adam's Claw it has brought these two back together. Feel the frustration and the angst of the two denying what they still feel for each other while dealing with the ongoing problems that is going on in Adam's Claw.

Great

This was a lovely second chance romance. Mike is a famous actor who comes home for a break. Sheila has a secret that she never told Mike. Mike eventually discovers that he has a son. This is an emotional rollercoaster for Sheila who still has an connection with Mike and doesn't know if she trusts him enough to do the right thing. Loved the story.

Mike is home to visit his family and check out the Uni Corp problem hopefully to expose what they are doing to the people. She runs into his ex girlfriend Sheila who has a child that he notices looks just like him. Sheila is hesitant to let him met his son at first but then agrees. But will he go back to his life away from Adam's claw. I am loving the shifter books.

An enjoyable second chance at love story. This is the second book in this series Adam's Claw. This is the story of Mike a dragon shifter and a actor and his mate Sheila who is a human. Mike left 5 years ago to pursue his acting and left behind the one woman he ever loved and his child that he didn't know about. This is their journey to their happy ending. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I was immediately drawn in. I loved Sheila’s snark, though Mike could get around it so easily. There is so much action, drama, passion and so much more throughout this well written story. This story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. You won’t be disappointed with this book.

Love is in the air

Good read. Sheila and Mike's history seems to have been rekindled after finding our that he has a son. The feelings have not faded when their paths cross. He has alot of making up to do. Cute HEA story with a bit of a twist that involves UniCorp. We'll have to see if they can keep their town safe.

Shelia and Mike

Adam’s Claw the second book featuring Shelia, a second grade teacher who four years ago became pregnant, unknown to Mike who left her to follow dreams of being an actor. A lot of angst over what Mike should do for Sheila and his son and
Sheila’s fear of being hurt once again. Strong characters with a happy ending.

This is book 2 in the series and the continuing storyline is quite enjoyable. Mike and Sheila are great as the main characters. You cannot help but root for the good guys as the story evolves.
