Dancing in the Dark What if you discovered all you ever wanted were the things you left behind?
CIA Paramilitary Operator Matt Kincaid is back in tiny Walton Springs, only to find Janey Blackmon waiting to ask him a favor. Matt's not there to reminisce with the girl he's never forgotten...and he's definitely not there to divulge government secrets about her missing brother.
Ten years and Janey hasn't forgotten the love of her life...or that he abandoned her on prom night. Bound by duty and honor, he was shipped out to parts unknown by Uncle Sam. But she knew he'd go because adventure is in Matt's blood. Being stuck in a small town with plain Jane the librarian wasn't ever in his plans.
Trapped by a flood, with no phone or power, desire tempts them both. Will passion—and Matt's offer to recreate prom night—lead to a future together? Or are they just dancing in the dark?
In the Arms of a Stranger
Wanted for treason… Burned by his agency and running for his life, CIA Paramilitary Operator JP Blackmon is determined to clear his name. He tracks down his former partner, but when JP discovers the man is dead, he must turn to the only person who can help. His partner’s vulnerable widow.
Drowning in lies… Abby Price never wanted anything but a safe home to raise her son with the man she loved. But her husband was hiding secrets. Secrets that branded him a traitor and got him killed. Now the CIA is watching Abby’s every move and she’s sure they’re hiding proof that would clear her son’s father. So when a stranger shows up swearing he’s her husband’s partner and asking for her help to find the truth, she agrees to risk everything.
A love neither can deny… As JP and Abby race for answers, they must elude killers…and try to ignore a passionate attraction neither wants to face. Because JP has secrets of his own, and Abby will never allow herself to be betrayed by a man again. But in the end, it’s only by trusting each other that they can make it out alive.

Skip the prequel and go straight to the main book: Dancing in the dark was a quick prequel that delivered an okay story. For being so short, it nevertheless felt rather repetitive and drawn out. Basically just a friends to lovers 2 day romance. I nearly didn't continue on to the main book, In the arms of a stranger, but am so glad that I did as this was so much better. You could really feel the tension, which turned into serious chemistry, between JP and Abby. The slow burn romance kept things grounded but the intensity of their situation was thrilling too. I really enjoyed the intrigue and mystery which came with many unexpected twists and turns. I also liked that it highlighted the strain placed on families when their loved ones have to lie and keep a part of themselves hidden due to the nature of the work that they do for the government. his set contains book one, Dancing in the Dark and book two, In the Arms of a Stranger of the Shadow Heroes series. Wow!! I absolutely loved these two books. The first is a little shorter of a read, more of a novella than a full length. Matt and Janey's story (book 1) is more of a sweet and steamy second chance than romantic suspense and helps setup for book two which is about her brother JP. JP's story is a romantic suspense and boy is it one whorl wind of a story. It's an excellent blend of romance, passion and suspense. I couldn't stop turning the pages. Excellent story! I've found a new favorite romantic suspense series. Off to grab the next book in the series.

These two were the first two books in this series, I greatly enjoyed them and am looking forward to reading the rest in this series. In the first one Matt and Janey have been friends for years and now she needs his help to find her brother. He can only tell her so much about what they do. after years of dancing around each other and the feelings that they have for each other they finally give in to them. JP has been on the run for a year and needs to find his partner to figure out what happened on that last mission, what he finds is his widow and her son. Together they have to figure out what happened and how is out to hurt them.

These two books were really good. DANCING IN THE DARK is the shorter book giving us Matt and Janey's story which offers them a second chance to fall in love. It also leads into Book 2, IN THE ARMS OF A STRANGER, where we are given the romantic suspense story of her brother, JP. Lots of suspense, passion, and action in that one that puts the pressure on with a mystery over who is trying to kill him. I enjoyed the stories and the characters we meet. You really will be on the edge of your seat and you move quickly through the pages to follow the intense action. Don’t miss this thrilling duet!
I absolutely loved these stories. Matt and Janey, JP and Abby were both so suspenseful, rave against time stories, that took my breath away at times. The drama unfolded gradually as you find out where they have come from, and turns into a slow burn, steamy thrill ride. Both very well written with a great depth to the characters and scary situations that keep you gripped to the story. Absolutely fantastic books, both of them and I highly recommend them.

This duet gives us a wonderful pair of books. We are drawn into these stories full of secrets, lies, betrayal and edge of your seat suspense. It kicks off in the 1st book Dancing In The Dark which is Matt and Janey's story and once we finish that we continue on to book 2 In The Arms Of A Stranger in which we get JP'S story who is Janey's brother. You really get caught up in these page turning stories that I would definitely recommend reading.

Two very good stories that kept me turning pages. Book one is Dancing in the Dark a second chance story for CIA Paramilitary Operator Matt Kincaid and Janey Blackmon the girl he left behind ten years ago. The second book is In the Arms of a Stranger and is CIA Paramilitary Operator JP Blackmon and Abby Price's story of lies that need to be uncovered. Dancing in the Dark- Matt and Janey letting their love come to light. In the arms of a stranger- JP and Abby, their story has a lot of action, mystery of who's trying to kill him, and dealing with feelings that are getting stronger. Awesome
