Savage Wisdom will slap you in the face, change the way you see the world, then give you a big loving hug.
In this book, author and spiritual badass Adam Cam takes you on a journey of self-discovery and new life perspectives.
By the end of the book, not only will you have a firecracker under your ass, but you'll feel ready to take on life as an empowered, spiritually aware, badass version of yourself.
*If you are easily offended by hard-hitting truths, dark humour and the occasional swear word... this book isn't for you.
I really like Adam's sense of humour and rather harsh way to cut down to the basic truth. Everything he says is true, but so many of us either do not want to or are not able to hear such hard words. Because at the end of the day, the way we live our lives is up to everyone individually. But it is easier to blame everyone else. Your life = your responsibility. What you choose to do, to listen to, to accept, to tolerate, is up to you. But with that said, I love his IG videos even more, so the book is rather an extra. Since I am a visible learner, I enjoyed the pictures SO MUCH, because they speak volumes. If you need a wake-up-call, read the book.
Purchased this book after following the author’s Instagram account. Found the book to have logical and sound worthy advice. It’s a quick read, it’s enjoyable, and some parts made me laugh. It’s a good book to read if you are in need a wake up call, a wake up call to start living your best life.
I have this as an audio book. I also follow Adam Cam on Instagram. I like the nature of his message and his no-frills way of delivering it. It's very in line with my own internal dialogue: harsh, rough around the edges, but honest, inspiring, and supportive of growth and self-care.
The audio book is, I think, just a little over an hour and a half long. It's short, but that's something I like about it. I can listen to it over a couple of gym sessions. I also listen to it when I feel like my own internal dialogue isn't quite loud enough to drown out the negative little goblin in the back of my head.
There's lots of cursing, and a lot of the content is brutally honest. If that's appealing to you, definitely pick this up.
I love love the IG account but less than thrilled with the book and how it was written. Good talking points however. Rather Generic Instagram is great tho for his platform !
A good motivation book when you feel down. I enjoyed the pictures and also the questions at the end. Makes you seriously question your life decisions and asks you to look at things from a different perspective. I would have enjoyed a longer introduction from the writer (some sort of pre-story how he ended up in the current lifestyle he has).
One of those quick and delightful reads that gives you a kick in the pants, leaves you inspired, and gets you up off your ass. Adam’s irreverent narration makes this book both funny and accessible. My only beef is that the man uses commas incorrectly on nearly every page, but he lets us know up front that he gives no fucks about such mistakes and it’s the message that matters anyway. Touché. This one’s definitely staying on my shelf for those times when I need a reminder of my own badassery.
Brilliant book, completely honest account of lots of subject matters and this author says things straight to the point and is spot on. It's really made me realise a lot of things about myself and I find this helpful.
Nothing new here that I haven't read before in other self-help style books... The delivery is great and I enjoyed the 'realness' of it.
FYI I've read/listened to a load of these type books and felt a little like Cam has whipped out all the catchphrases from everyone else's books and stuck them all in one handy little place.
There's lots of 'Your Vibe attracts your Tribe' and 'Knowing your worth' going on here. It's a good snappy reminder of how you can be effective at life - to be honest, it's a short listen so I'll probably listen to it a few times when I need reminding of a load of these concepts without having to dedicate time to a whole/more complex book.
It's literally a collection of all the other similar books I've read without the fluff. Kind of like a self help anthology. If you're into these types of books you won't find anything new here.
It's like a bastardised Chimp Paradox meets Atomic Habits. If you want a more in-depth read you'd probably better go read those. This is almost like a highlights reel. An entertaining highlights reel though.
Hard hitting and straight to the point. Adam says it as it is and it’s so refreshing to have someone do that instead of feeling patronised and treated like a child. Adam made me actually think about things in my life, past and present.
I wasn’t expecting anything from this book. I thought I would give it a go after following Adam for quite a while on FB, liking his I don’t give a fk attitude and thinking a few times wow he’s right.
I’m glad I read it. Im glad I thought, really thought about the questions. I’m hoping this is the beginning of putting the broken pieces back together. I will re-read this book over and over until some of what he says actually sinks in fully.
I’m kinda sad.. I wanted to love this book and feel it was actually over hyped. I love Adam’s online content but most of that is already in this book, I think the journal points at the end of the book are great so I’m looking forward forward to using those.. maybe the rating will go up following that?
If you need a kick up the arse and need to hear real hard hitting but positive reinforcement then this book may be worth it.. rather give him a follow on Instagram.
This is a good book. And people need to listen and read what he says. So many don’t understand that they only need to worry about themselves, their own happiness and not let others impact that. Read his words and take notes. Stick it on a mirror, put it on art on your walls. Do you.
Everybody should read and take notes with this book honestly it’s true, it’s real and it’s so far from sugar coated. Yeah shit happens to us all but it does not mean we have to become shit simple!!!
I was gonna leave a before and after I’ve read review because just the blurb made me laugh out loud. However, I downloaded it and read it in one go. I love the way Adam has written this book, it’s so refreshing and so relatable. Everyone needs to read this book. I know I’m going to revisit it over and over to keep reminding myself of how awesome I am and how mahoosively awesome I’m planning on becoming. Thanks Adam for an honest, entertaining and empowering read. Fucking loved it xx
Savage Wisdom is like nothing I have ever read before. Right from the start its so gripping, making you question your ways of thinking, your behaviours and most importantly how you view yourself and the world.
It is so raw and totally authentic with no fluffy words, its very straight to the point but thats why its so good!
A book you can refer to again and again. Perfect gift too!
If you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for?
I really appreciate this book. After 4 years of me trying to improve myself,I needed a book that tells me in simple language that I am okay the way I am and that I should stop overthinking and let my past control my mind and life
Very easy to read. This book gives you confirmation about certain feelings in your live and helps you to get back to your selfworth. The book it’s written for people that want to get further in live…
