Heartbreaking and messy… Not gonna lie I hated every single person in this book except for poor Jordan and maybe Chance and Cortez parents. Phoenix and Chance especially deserved to rot. Cortez wasn’t no better and I don’t feel sorry for him at all. His actions sparked all of this with his trifling self.
The only reason I despise Phoenix more is because she doesn’t have any remorse for what she did, not even to the only person who didn’t deserve it which is again Jordan. That being said it was very well written and for it to inspire the kind of hatred I harbor for these characters meant the author did what she was supposed to do. I would definitely recommend this book.
It took me a minute to even say what I wanted to say! I’m halfway speechless because this story was so good but it was SOO CRAZYYYY! I can’t even pick a “villain” because to be honest everybody had their flaws. Sometimes you have to be selfish when it comes to your happiness but other times the price is just too high. Whew 🥵 This was 🔥🔥! Forbidden Love with a Twist for sure
Messy but it was good. To me Phoenix was selfish as hell. But on the other hand I kind of understood why she did what she did. Cortez was wrong for how he aaa treating her but you get a dude back like that. In the end she got the happy ending she wanted.
This one was a doozy! This is my first read by this author but it won’t be my last. There is so much here in this book! Without giving away the storyline, the overarching theme for me is being true to yourself and living for you. Living for others and what is expected always leads to failure. It’s better to fail at being you than to be something you are not and all of the characters learned this the hard way.
Idk even know where to start lol… this was a good story. But man the only characters worth a damn was the babies and Jordan… lol like man.. ugh when things finally hit the fan The secondhand embarrassment was real lmao cause that’s one hell of a way to get caught up 😭😭😭… even though they were foul I was happy they got their happy ending.. cause ain’t no way y’all went through all that to walk away from each other. And I couldn’t rock with Chance and Gabby.. that’s one’s reason ppl don’t like their significant others to have opposite sex “best friends” anyway cause ain’t no way my boy. But good story overall
Phoenix should had follow her heart from the beginning instead of going along with her own mother foolishness . Sometime as a women we get fed up and can’t forgive a spouse after being hurt repeatedly. Cortex grew up to late to ever save or prove his Love to his wife . Phoenix cross a line that should have never been broken , Jordan went through so much but through it all she try to get help and seek help from a professional. Mental Health is real and we must not think bc we get help we are crazy . Think about it either you get help or hurt urself in the end . Which one is more important ur life !! Love this story and truly enjoy see how it unfolded in the end .
Phoenix is the most selfish, trifling woman I have ever seen. She does all this dirt, hurts the people closest to her then plays the victim. Her and Chance for trash period. Cortez and Jordan both deserved better and the fact that Phoenix and Chance get to live out their happiness after what happened to Jordan makes it even worse. Phoenix is more trash than Chance in a sense because when she doesn't get her way she chooses to throw her loose cat at any man just to make the other man mad. I was so happy Ty played her yet she still got a happy ending. Poor Jordan
This was intense for real. I legit had real tears and felt real emotions behind this story. Seeing the characters point of view and also understanding them is something great from this author. I didn't know how I felt about each situation but it's like you never know how you will react or do things when in the situation. I root for all things love but sometimes love hurts but we have to be willing to take the consequences with our actions and stand on what we believe. I can definitely relate...
This book started out the gate with the drama. First, I’ll start by saying that this was the first book that I’ve read by Tiana and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well written, flowed well and kept my attention from beginning to end. Phoenix was a selfish individual and really didn’t care about anyone’s feelings except her own. She had no remorse as to how her indiscretions effected her husband or friend. Jordan and her son suffered most from Phoenix and Chance’s action. Jordan with her life and her son growing up without a mother.
This author wrote the sh*t outta this book cuz I'm left discombobulated 😩 Phoenix made her children sibling & cousins! And she bothered me the most cuz of her attitude and how she went about everything. Chance ain't no better....their selfish acts created chain reaction that cost someone's life. Im happy Cortez finally grew up and got his BF as his lady. I can't say I'm happy with the ending tho...Phoenix & Chance were disloyal & love ain't got nothing to do with how disrespectful they were...smdh
This was a lot! From the beginning the author pulls you into a story fraught with scandal and just when you thought it couldn't get worst, it did. At some points the lines between who were the protagonists and antagonists were blurred. You didn't know who to cheer for because it was that insane. I am not sure about the ending but I will say that this will not be my last time reading works from this author. Definitely an engaging read. Whew!
I really enjoyed this story from a New To Me Author. It was a very complex story. While it was definitely messy, it was told in such a way that provided a first hand look to how you can get caught up in messy decisions unintentionally. I was sad at some of the outcomes, but overall, I was happy with how everything unfolded. It was messy, no doubt about that. But also, beautiful. I can't wait to ready more from this author.
This was really a head banger for me this author is 🔥🔥🔥 she really brought it with this novel. Wow the plot the storyline the cast of characters were awesome I'm looking forward to other works by her. Please don't sleep on this book if you do you are missing out on a treat.
Messy messy messy..., but I get it. You can' t help but turn the page to see how it all turns out. Overall pretty good story would have like to see a little more of how Chance and Phoenix started off instead of a brief summary. Also, would have like to know more of how the family dealt with how things turned out in the end.
I loved this action filled back from start to finish. I fell in love with the characters. This was one of those books I couldn’t get enough of. I dreamed about the characters, I thought about the book 24/7. We read this book in our book club and everyone truly enjoyed. This is my first book with this author and I will definitely be checking out more books.
I am so glad these people got it together. Man oh man! Our parents has got to learn to let us have our own relationship. If they stick to their own business sometimes we'll be able to make them proud without having to be a royal fuck up. But damn kids wit brothers. Hahaha hahaha that shit was hilarious!
For the storyline! I'm not saying I agree or don't take issue with some of the things that took place in this book, but I'm basing my rating on the sheer pen talent! I read this book in one sitting. And usually when that happens, my rating reflects this! But it definitely took me through it!
This was a crazy love triangle! It had some sad parts, there was betrayal and cheating but in the end I guess it ended up how it was destined to be! I hate what happened to Jordan but sometimes we make decisions based on emotions and end up with the short end of the stick! This was really a good read!
This book was definitely different and messy. Like I don't know if I would ever be able to forgive my brother or my wife. In Jordan case my best friend nope they would get these hands every time
This book speaks to the life of real relationships and how not following your heart and effect everyone around you. The author, Tiana, captured the feelings, typical life situations and the hope for every situation.....a happy ending.
I enjoyed this book It really touched on a lot We as women as forgive men for cheating but don’t fully forgive or heal It just so happens she fell in love with an unlikely person We All know the Heart wants what the Heart wants
let me first say this is my first read by this author and it will not be my last. i was in from page one. The energy that come from the pages were real. i hold my breath on portions and was sad and then mad by the end i was satisfied. i truly enjoyed the book. Well written
This book was very good. Alot of times we as ppl sweep situations under the rug. Phoenix was painted out as the bad guy but she was not. Everybody made mistakes and had lessons to learn. I'm happy about the ending .
You want drama? You want romance? Mixed with a little bit of hood and life's lessons??? Well, this is the book for you. I seriously did NOT want this book to end. ❤
