Ocena 4⭐️
Format papier

Pierwszy komiks w biblioteczce dziecięcej i jest super! Raz że ciekawie opisuje mitologię grecką, dwa jest zabawny, trzy cudne wydanie i piękne ilustracje, no czego chcieć więcej.

Myths, monsters and mayhem in Ancient Greece is a fabulous account of known and interesting stories in Greek mythology.

Sharing the perfect blend of bite-sized information, storytelling and humor through a comic format, this book is sure to capture the imagination of curious children. The size is great for sharing or to dive deep into the details of its depictions. Every spread is a master work in composition, referencing essencial elements of Ancient Greek history and culture with a nod to our current way of living. The usage of a limited colour palette gives the book a special mythological flavour, blending old history and stories, which this book does so brilliantly in every instance.

Through its pages the reader gets to meet the Greek Gods, their story of the origin of the world, discover some Greek heroes and heroines, story of Pandora’s box, Heracles’ twelve labours, the Trojan war and much more.

Funny, delightful, informative, and deliciously entertaining this book is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers, covering not only history, myths and culture, but also drama (comedy and tragedy) and can be used in a myriad of ways to deliver knowledge and entice creativity.

Highly recommended for 8-12 year olds (and adults will love it too!)

A simplified, but not dumbed down, collection of myths and legends from the world of Ancient Greece. With wonderful art reminiscent of something out of the best episodes of Adventure Time, this book is a fantastic entry point for kids that want to learn about the stories of one of the most fascinating and important civilisations in human history.

As an adult I thoroughly enjoyed this, despite already being familiar with many of these myths on a more detailed level - so I've no doubt that children, especially budding young historians, would absolutely love it.
