A sci-fi smut buffet. I'm just over halfway through. Are most of the stories less than mediocre quality? Why yes! But the gems I keep finding are making this journey worth it.

💠 Elizabeth Stevens "Taken to Revatu"
★★
Fancy aliens crash on a primitive orc planet. Alphabet soup names and a dorky made-up language.
🔹Fated-mates

💠 Zoey Draven "Rescued by the Luxurian"
★★
Vacationing human crash lands on an alien hermit's private paradise; she continues her vacation on his idyllic planet permanently.
🔹Fated-mates

💠 Kate Rudolph "Kallan"
★★★
Human secretary on vacation crash lands with an alien dude she just met and they overcome an "evil clone" plot together.
🔹Fated-mates

💠 VK Ludwig "Press Pound for Refund"
★★
Bitter old maid with commitment issues crash lands with an alien concubine. She leers and negs him until he gives in and shags her.

💠 Tana Stone "Prize"
★★
Human menial worker crash lands on desert planet and meets psychic alien twins.
🔹Fated-mates, menage

💠 Octavia Kore "Plummeting Hearts"
★★
Human nurse starts work on a space cruise ship, immediately enters into a triad relationship with the staff. And yup...you guessed it, they crash land on a planet
🔹 Fated-mates, menage

💠 Hope Hart "Stolen by the Arkov"
★★★
Human on the run from her alien overlord mate, crash lands with him in the Amazon Rainforest.
🔹 Fated-mates, enemies to lovers

💠 Olivia Riley "Shade's Embrace"
★★★★
Aerial dancer crashes onto criminal planet and quickly gains the attention of the main crime lord. Mafia romance vibes but the dude is a spooky alien. Ends abruptly, so I get the feeling that she might flesh this story out to make a full novel later on
🔹Dub-con

💠 Tasha Black "Promised Mate"
★★★
A sheltered princess and her cultural advisor crash onto a jungle planet just before her wedding to another man.
🔹Teacher/student

💠 SJ Sanders "Wandering Star:Fallen"
★★★
Two alien lizards manning a waystation discover a mechanic in a space pod. Sander's stories are consistently creative and interesting, but the writing style has always felt stiff, idk how to explain it.
🔹Menage

💠 Jessica Grayson & Jade Waltz "Saved by the Fae Alien"
She crash lands on faerie planet and red fairy boy is fated to love her forever
🔹 Fated-mates

💠 Veronica Scott "Talinn"
★★★
Woman crashes onto desert gladiator planet
🔹 Fated-mates

💠VT Bonds "Mated and Marked"

I just don't "get" omegaverse. She'll literally die if she doesn't constantly consume semen, what???
🔹 Fated-mates, omegaverse

💠 Nancey Cummings "Caldar: Warlord Brides"
★★
Artist on a space cruise gains a purple dilf stalker. Ship gets raided but he's a warrior so everything turns out fine

💠 Alana Khan "The Yearning"
★★★★
Woman abducted from earth ends up on an asteroid occupied by a sentient machine. I wasn't expecting this to be so good, this is supposed to be an anthology of cheesy sci-fi smut, not a fulfilling romance, I'm not crying you're crying!! 😭😭😭

💠 Ivy Knox "Trusting his Mate"
★★
Generic dragon shapeshifter decides that a generic middle age woman is his mate.

💠 Ella Maven "Saved by the Prisoner"
★★
Alien with 4 tits crash lands on prison planet and meets her mate
🔹 Fated-mates

💠 Kyra Snow "Protected by the Alien Warlord"
★★
Abducted on a space cruise and becomes a pet. Turns out her owner is actually a nice guy with a tail
🔹bdsm

💠 L Starfyre

Scorpion/human/gorilla (???) shapeshifter assassin finds enough mates to populate a small town
🔹 Reverse harem, omegaverse

💠 Kate Stevens "Archlord of Exile"

💠 Alison Aimes "Princess Claimed"
★★
A princess and a criminal and omegaverse garbage
🔹 Omegaverse, Fated-mates

💠 Ava Ross "Escorting the Alien"
★★
Pilot and a diplomat crash on a planet

💠 Hattie Jacks "Fated"
★★
Woman no longer has to save the forest when she meets the feathery man of her dreams in space
🔹 Fated-mates, dual wielding

💠 Julie K. Cohen "Alien Tempted"
★★
Trafficking survivor cures her trauma by sleeping with an alien she just met
🔹 Fated-mates, dual wielding

💠 Lilly Griffin "Pippa's Quandary"
★★★
A genetically modified group of women escape a lab, only to be abducted by aliens multiple times. Interesting elements but feels like too many things mashed together.
🔹 Possible reverse harem?

💠 Annabelle Rex "The Bodyguard's deception"
★★★
A woman who's the grand prize in a gambling tournament befriends her bodyguard

💠 Honey Phillips "Alien Castaway"
★★★
A mail order bride on the run from her white trash life, falls in love with a friendly criminal on the same ship
🔹 Fated-mates

💠 Alexis B. Osborne "Mate for the Alien P*rn Star"
★★★★
A rebound one night stand accidentally turns into much more when the space ship explodes.
🔹lgbtq, sex positive 💯

Releasing Maladek by Victoria Aveline
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m a simple girl. Just give me some fated mates, a human who was abducted by aliens and has been living most of her life in space, a really tall, muscular, and rough around the edges alien who’s so strong he can break rocks with his bare hands, and make them super horny for each other while they’re in danger and surviving on a hostile planet. You know, simple 😆

This was a hot and fast-paced novella in the Clecanian series universe. It had every single thing that I wanted and nothing that I didn’t. I read it in one sitting and loved everything about it!

I loved Katie as a heroine. She’s lived so long in space (as a regular worker, not a sex slave—which was nice) that she hasn’t seen another human in forever. She was the perfect mixture of confidence (because she’s proven to herself that she can carve out a living for herself literally anywhere) and insecurity (because she’s been so thoroughly othered by every alien she’s ever encountered). She definitely deserves a Clecanian boi 🥰

And Maladek!! If you like them super strong with just a hint of dumb, then let me present this enormous purple alien. I am absolute trash for the heroes in the Clecanian series. Despite the fact that they’ve been preparing their whole lives to be in a relationship, they are CONVINCED that they’re not worthy of their human mates. They try so hard and feel so many feelings. Ugh, my heart!

Alright. I've finished the vast majority of the 49 stories, and have indicated below which ones I couldn't get through.

General comments: I really appreciate that the authors who contributed to this massive anthology gave their time and shared their stories for a good cause. Great effort.

That said, the final product would have been much better if there were less stories and more careful copy-editing. Quality was very inconsistent. Replete with typos throughout but particularly in the final third of stories, awash in plot point repetition, and with occasional mid-paragraph shifts in verb tense or grammatical person, I felt like the desire to cram as many short stories and novellas in as possible really compromised the quality of the anthology, both stylistically and rhetorically. But hey, if it moved book sales for charity, that's good too.

A number of the stories were exceptional. A bunch were enjoyable. A couple were just not my jam, but maybe someone else would like them. Fortunately it is possible to skip ahead past anything that doesn't strike your fancy, and find a story that does satisfy. I would have liked to see more diverse settings and story (literally there are dozens of stories with the same interpretation of the prompt...), although a few took the concept and put a fresh twist on it. More attention could have been paid to pacing, order of stories, and consistent tone and style. Abrupt endings to some stories, as though the author ran out of time and had to submit at the eleventh hour, were rather jarring, breaking the immersion.

Many submissions were obviously just extensions of existing universes, referencing prior novels. I think if you like and have read the applicable series, it's nice fan service. Otherwise it's surprisingly excessive. How many series are there where human women for *some* reason are passionately desired by hot aliens, who will do anything to have them, including abduction and slavery? More than the number of stars in the night sky, you can be sure of that!

Maybe if I attempted to draw a Venn diagram outlining the numerous tropes and storytelling devices typically employed in sci-fi romance, and then mapped this anthology onto it, I would come out with something that vaguely resembled a circle, with a few exceptions.

A nice little summary (2-3 lines) per story could have helped navigate between them more easily. Generally speaking, fated mates, Alpha/Omegas, and overly 'alien' romantic alien protagonists make me groan - and not in an especially good way. God forbid they have a 'knot' (🙄). Alas, sometimes I had to read a fair bit before getting to that point, which felt like a waste of my time. Say what you will, but I think fated mates is usually just laziness and a way to hit 'fast forward' on the tough work of building rapport between vastly different people and actually having to *show* how the chemistry builds.

Below I provide brief comments and a rating for each story. Mind you that I am assigning them grades purely based on my own preferences and interests, so it's hardly an objective system and you may disagree.

⭐⭐⭐ Taken to Revatu, by Elizabeth Stephens
First-person, loads of made up alien words that break immersion. Non-human Heroine. Insta-love (or at least insta-lust). Good pace and strong descriptive language. Heroine kinda bland and occasionally helpless.

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 Rescued by the Luxurian, by Zoey Draven
Fated mates, blegh. But I will admit it was enjoyable. Draven always delivers. The exaggerated gender tropes are artful, though nearly tiring.

⭐⭐⭐ Kallan, by Kate Rudolph
Fated mates, blegh blegh. Virtually indistinguishable from the last two stories ~* but with a twist! *~ Strong technical skills.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 Press Pound for Refund, by V.K. Ludwig
This was charming, humorous, and heart-warming. Heck, even the title is a bit punny. Artful lover-boy (or old man, I suppose) is all too in over his head when he meets our BAMF heroine. I am always amazed when space porn makes me tear up.

⭐ Prize, by Tana Stone
Reverse-harem (or whatever twins wanting to share is called) isn't my thing. Nevertheless, getting clobbered in the head with class analysis was a real hoot. Didn't love the undertones of misogyny in that critique either, even as someone who grew up below the poverty line.

⭐⭐ Plummeting Hearts, by Octavia Kore
Fated mates, more or less, but also MFM. Meh, not my thing. Writing was somehow clunky.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stolen by the Arcav, by Hope Hart
Y'know what, I did NOT expect the fated mates trope to be so utterly inverted. Mind you, it totally could have gone in a darker direction. But I liked it. Good sizzle factor throughout and strong dramatic tension.

⭐⭐ 1/2 Shade's Embrace, by Olivia Riley
Groaaaaan. Hero is a Bad Boy with a Troubled Past™, which is really just code for "he's an irredeemable asshole and real trash, but it's okay because at least he's ~~seeeexy~~~~."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Promised Mate, by Tasha Black
Okay, the name made me assume the very worst. And yet - and yet! - this was A++ super good, holy moly, did I ever love it. Our heroine is every naive, wide-eyed innocent royal trope ever. She has the hots for teach. And yet! And yet! 👩‍🚒🔥🚒 Tropey-ness is self-aware and takes NO shortcuts. Passion, drama, declarations of love, etc. are all also primo.

⭐⭐ The Wandering Star: Fallen, by SJ Sanders
Author writes well. Alas, I couldn't get past the bird/dinosaur-like alien hero(s). MFM, maybe (I think?!?), although I couldn't read long enough to finish. I just kept imagining chicken man from Family Guy and let's just say that's one cock too far. 🐔

⭐⭐⭐⭐3/5 Saved by the Fae Alien, by Jessica Grayson and Jade Waltz
Lush, descriptive prose. Each sentence felt like it had purpose. The love story blossoms. Hero and heroine are rounded characters, decent to each other, and have more to them than just dropping their pants and going for it. But, of course, they do lots of that too 😏

⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 Talinn, by Veronica Scott
Prison planet stories are SO overdone, but Scott's expert storytelling really shines here. However, I can only take so much, and I'm not sure it would be fair to my sensibilities to reward use of the words "Alpha" or "mate" with five stars.

⭐ Mended and Marked, by V.T. Bonds
Pregnancy kink with a hefty dose of Alpha/Omega. Not for me.

⭐⭐⭐1/2 Caldar: Warlord Brides, by Nancy Cummings
It was cute and I enjoyed where the plot went (a bit unpredictably at times, which was certainly enjoyable). Kinda alienating (haha) when it often references the plot of another book, but like I said, fan service can be nice too. Protagonist a smidge too much of an asshole at the start, but his raw sex appeal seems to make up for it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 The Yearning, by Alana Khan
Aw shucks. What *does* it even mean to be a person? I'll hand it to Khan: it's rare for smut to ask those questions intelligently. Particularly so when the tone is expertly balanced with humour so that it never feels like the author is on a soapbox. The hero is a great (if you liked The Doctor in Star Trek: Voyager...). I appreciated the heroine's compassion, sensuality, and openness.

⭐ Trusting His Mate, by Ivy Knox
My eyes rolled into my head so far, I couldn't quite dig them out far enough to read this. Heroine isn't like the dumb other girls, k? Latent misogyny abounds, and it's unclear that the main character ever grows beyond her acute case of special snooflake syndrome.

⭐⭐ Hunting Galaxies, by Samantha Rose
Strong premise, but pacing is totally off relative to what the plot promises. It literally reads like an outline that was lightly beefed up before hitting send. The hero is different, in a good way, but it's a shame we don't really get to know him.

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 Saved by the Prisoner, by Ella Maven
Heroine is not human, and that's pretty fun. More prison planet, but it hits the highs of the trope and largely avoids the lows.

⭐⭐ Protected by the Alien Warlord, by Kyra Snow
Not my jam. An alien abduction (what's new?) leads to our heroine having to 'pretend' to unwillingly obey a secretly virtuous slave-owner, while secretly being really into him. Or something.

⭐ Cyborg Assassin: XZ20T20, by L. Starfyre
Reverse-harem, so it wasn't for me. Pacing felt all off - at least as far as I read.

⭐⭐⭐3/4 Archlord of Exile, by Kate Stevens
Kinda overwrought, and some of the chemistry didn't quite land (our couple is already married, you see), but I liked the plot and it was rather sweet. The villain was a Big Bad, to be clear.

⭐⭐ Princess Claimed, by Alison Aimes
*Shrug* It didn't really pull me in. Narrative voice was a bit too simple for my taste. Didn't love the gratuitous profanity and then when I saw the word "Alpha," I sighed and moved on.

⭐⭐⭐ Escorting the Alien, by Ava Ross
Didn't really do anything for me. Hot-bod alien king clearly wasn't hot enough to make up for his appalling personality. And I just didn't feel like the heroine was very relatable.

⭐⭐1/2 Fated, by Hattie Jacks
Alien abduction AND the hero has two 🐔🐔. Oh yes, and as the title suggests, it IS fated mates.

⭐ Alien Tempted, by Julie K. Cohen
I've read enough "heroine is a former sex slave to aliens" stories to probably get what that trope is about. Honestly, I don't. Is it a complex metaphor for plain old sexual violence? Abusive relationships? Idk, man. Oh, and the story starts with a (gratuitous) attempted sexual assault/murder. Trigger warning needed, I guess. Of course it MUST be another case of fated mates 😤

⭐⭐⭐ Silver Sidhe, by Iona Strom
Forced mating, or at least it is attempted. Fated mates. Highland warriors but actually aliens. Need I say more? At least the chemistry and smut were well written.

⭐1/2 Pippa's Quandary, by Lilly Griffin
Complicated alien abduction experiments occurred in this heroine's past. I developed a bit of a headache and opted to skip the rest. Heroine has a child and gushes over her with gusto.

⭐⭐⭐1/2 The Bodyguard's Deception, by Annabelle Rex
Short and satisfying. Some tropes definitely feature, but I didn't mind them as much given the author's skill in deftly keeping the plot going. Although the romance was a bit cliche at times, it still hit the right notes.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/3 Alien Castaway, by Honey Philips
Heroine is a basket case with the most tragic of backgrounds. Hero is an accused criminal being transported on the same ship. Innocent waif is drawn to burly brawn incarnate and the results are explosive. It's a tale as old as time and the delivery is crisp and enjoyable.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mate for the Alien P*rn Star, by Alexis B. Osborne
It really proved my initial assumptions wrong. Exceptional hilarity and misunderstandings are the heart of the rather unserious plot, and characters are delightfully imperfect. They 'mate' but it doesn't rely on magic or an unexplained bond. Hotter than a frying pan, Osborne's story is well-served by her clever worldbuilding and thoughts on gender, sexual compatibility, and social norms.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reaver's Kiss, by Elin Wyn
I really enjoyed this. Intelligently written, good world-building, and believable (although accelerated) romance. It's the Platonic ideal of the "marooned on a desert island" survival romance. Unfortunately, the ending was far too abrupt. A backdoor to a sequel? Or just writing hurriedly to a deadline?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Out of the Frying Pan, by Tamsin Ley
This was FANTASTIC. Our heroine has a real can-do attitude, even while suffering amnesia. Her and the hero are *chefs*, so yumminess ensues. 😏😏 There are laughs, gasps, and moans. I was intrigued by the emotional depth of supporting characters in such a tasty nibble of a story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 Claiming Her Freedom, by V.C. Lancaster
I was a *bit* torn about this story, because slavery doesn't usually lend itself well to true love (especially when the hero purchases the heroine...). But Lancaster pulls it off and it is an enjoyable ride with delectable tension for miiiiles.

⭐⭐⭐ Scarlett and the Alien Savage, by Liz Paffle
Okay, but it's basically just a sample of what feels like a story that is intended to continue. The emotional intensity of the plot goes like 📈 and then it just ends. That said, I was thrilled by the hero being an archaeologist, the promise of political intrigue, and the hero's unbridled nature (because he grew up in the jungle, geddit?).

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Releasing Maladek, by Victoria Aveline
I felt like this provided the right mix between sci-fi and romance, though it decisively leans towards the latter. Although it's yet another prison planet romance, I didn't mind as much. The writing is immersive and compelling, and the desperate romance *feels* real.

⭐⭐ Savage Galaxy Rescue, by Kassie Keegan
Efforts to recap the world-building of what must be an entire series beyond this collection fell flat. It didn't really elicit much beyond criiiiinge at the "mate," "female," etc. vocabulary. Oh and the hero is basically a lion-like humanoid. Not my jam.

⭐⭐ Her Warrior from the Stars, by A.G. Wilde
The prose and pace didn't really do it for me, so I skipped past.

⭐⭐⭐ Captured by the Riloxian, by Ella Blake
I somewhat struggled to relate to the heroine or her thought processes, despite the story being in first-person. However, it was a sweet short story with some interesting intrigue.

⭐⭐ Space Fighter's Mate, by Lynnea Lee
Not really my kind of thing. Hero was far too alien for my liking. But maybe it was just the description of his massive maw that put me off it.

⭐⭐ Honeymoon on the Red Planet, by Hannah Haze
Not all that into super naive, super immature heroines. The vast experience and skills gap between the hero and heroine was concerning more than anything else.

⭐⭐⭐ Stranded Hearts, by Leslie Chase
It was alright. Didn't really feel particularly emotionally invested in the romance or the non-romantic plot. Good pacing and descriptive language.

⭐⭐ Alien's Getaway, by Tina Moss
Another "former captive of aliens" story, combined with (you guessed it!) fated mates. The tone failed to appeal to me, and so did the overly descriptive language. There's showing and there's telling, and I felt like there was too much of the latter to enable me to get into the story.

⭐ Claiming Kara, by Stephanie West
I skimmed through the whole of it. The heroine is a Mary Sue and the hero is some kind of werewolf creature. Definitely reads like an insertion into an existing universe.

⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 Tumbling Through the Stardust, by R.L. Olvitt
Dang. Now THIS is sci-fi romance. Not just romance in space 😏 A bit cliche in parts, but overall quite enjoyable. Our tortured hero has had a rough go of it, and meeting our heroine changes everything. If that appeals, go read it! I teared up a bit.

⭐ The Exiled of Sha'Reaux, by Ana B. Starr
Alpha/Omega something. I lost interest practically immediately, though I did try to keep reading.

⭐ Crash Landed Alien Love, by C.Y. Croc
Can't tell if the main character lost a few IQ points in her crash landing, or if her level of vapidity is just par for the course. Lost me entirely with the astrology references, and that's as a  typical Gemini. 😂

⭐ Rescued by the Lantian Prince, by Amarra Skye
Something something BDSM society. Not my jam.

⭐⭐ A'jax, by Julie L. Vance
Heroine felt like a one-dimensional character, despite the interesting setting. Story was quite rushed and so was the romance.

⭐⭐ Doggone Alien Love, by Loretta Johns and Sarah Johns
Okay, full disclosure: I loved the plot, the characters, and all the work that clearly went into imagining the story and setting it up. However, it was riddled with typos and grammatical errors. I counted half a dozen on one page. It basically dropped off at a point where it felt like there was still half of the story left, wrapping up with a minimally satisfactory ending. I wouldn't mind reading it in finished form.

If you get to the end of this, and find yourself craving more, go read Planet X by Evangeline Anderson. As far as I'm concerned that basically defines the genre and whole plot. Is it literary? No. Does it offer the best characterization or cleanest plot? No. But it sure set a high-water mark, and I'm still thinking about it more than a decade later.

This anthology is enormous and I've read about half of the stories, enjoying some and not finishing others. Some of these stories have started being released individually since the anthology was only available for a limited time so for anyone who missed it, there are reviews that break down specific books that could be searched for. I think my favorite that I read was Rescued by the Luxirian by Zoey Draven with a hermit hero and a heroine who crash landed on his planet.

So, I won’t deny that this is one of the quickest pre-orders I have ever clicked. And one of the best .99c I ever spent. Worth every penny…and so much more. I am a huge sci-fi romance fan, and this box set has quite a few of my favorites…so it’s pretty much like book crack for me. Mates and HEA's everywhere.

TAKEN TO REVATU by ELIZABETH STEPHENS (Xiveri Mates Series)
I am huge Xiveri Mates series fan, and this story is set in that world. Of course we do get to see a few of the couples from previous books. Including my Xiveri mate Rhorky Bear. And apparently my man has quite the ruthless King of the Pirates reputation, except for when his tiny and sassy mate is leading him around.
Ok, so onto this story. Latanya aka little monster and others crash land on Revatu. She luckily is found by Grizz, that happens to be her Xiveri mate, because he can protect her from her awful stalker. She incorporates Grizz’s help finding her parents. These two have so much hot af chemistry, with a soulmate bond for sure. Safe read, great storyline, and a hea. I adored these two, they were a great addition to this already addicting world.

RESCUED BY THE LUXIRIAN by ZOEY DRAVEN
Lyra is on a galaxy cruise, her last hurrah before her life changes, when she has to get in a life pod, and lands on a planet…which happens to be a planet thats only inhabitant is her mate. Talk about lucky af. Of course she doesn’t realize he is her mate, but she is extremely attracted to him, and obviously he is to her as well. This is Droxan’s planet, yes he bought it and it is all his, he is a loner, which he prefers to be. She has to stay with him for a bit until the transport can get her. Not that it’s really a hardship for either of them. They just go together, and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wants, which was very obviously him. She is very forward about it, and I loved it. And when these two finally come together…whew hot af.
Safe read with a couple of dirty talking mates, can’t ask for more than that. And a sh*t ton of baby batter. They are relationship goals all the way. A sweet epilogue and hea.

PRIZE by TANA STONE (Barbarians of the Sand Planet)
Twins…that should be all I need to say…😉😈. Well twin barbarian warriors *wags eyebrows*....that should be all I need to say. Cat is working on a space cruise, when she has to escape, puts in the wrong rescue coordinates…and ends up on the sand planet with a couple of hot twins that happen to be her mind mates…plural. These three were burning up my kindle with their shenanigans. She is trying to get back to her ship, they have agreed to help her, and take her to the into the city where their people have a truce with the city people. I think we all know that things aren’t always what they seem, and I love some action/suspense in all of her books.
Safe read, with a hotter than hot insatiable trio. Basically she is the filling for a twin barbarian sandwich. I know lucky, lucky. We also get to see our favorite bounty hunters. An epilogue that left me needing more nowish, and a hea.

TRUSTING HIS MATE by IVY KNOX (Aliens of Oluura)
Autumn is on a luxury space cruiser, and has to get in a life pod that lands on Oluura. And also just so happens to land on Bexo’s land. You know the hot as sin dragon shifter brother of Niro, that has trust issues, oh and likes to be alone on his huge farm…yup, she lands there, so that’s fun. Of course at first she doesn’t realize he is the dragon shifter, and he was funny about it. But then once she realizes and he takes her flying, she was so excited afterwards, it was so cute….and of course he thought so too. She is the sunshine to his dark, and they were perfect together. She brings out his soft side, I know, I know, he really does have one, and it was so moving to see.
Safe read, with a couple that has my heart. I loved seeing this big grumpy dragon fall so completely and head over heals, or snout over legs..whatever you know what I mean. Adorable. Hea, and the end of this one definitely having me need more of this series, because there are more mates apparently…and I need the book nowish.

ALIEN CASTAWAY by HONEY PHILLIPS
Darla escapes her dad and brother, to get away from the planned marriage, and the fact that they pretty much think they own her and she’s the maid. She is sweet, and gets helps escaping. She goes to one of the breeding centers to get a breeding contract off world. Little did she know that she would meet her alien mate on the transport. After seeing each other in the distance, they already have a strong pull towards each other, so when she stumbles across him chained up, she continues to come and see him daily. When their ship is attacked, they get in an escape pod together and land on a habitable planet. There’s quite a few little twist in the story, which I loved.
Safe read with a sweet mate and her warrior. An epilogue and hea.

FATED by HATTIE JACKS
Sooooo…this one has double the pleasure, and there are no twins, so I am going to let you think on that, and work it out for yourself😉. He is an assassin that is being controlled by handlers, yup not an ideal situation for him. She was kidnapped from Earth to be a sex slave. There is just something about her that calls to him, so when the ship gets attacked, he saves her and they crash land on the closest hospitable planet.
Safe read, mates. Quite a bit of action. These two were hot, like I said double the pleasure, wags eyebrows. An epilogue and hea.

NOTE: I will keep adding to this review as I read the other books….thank you.

Finally finished this anthology, y’all! Soo many great and entertaining stories about alien romance. The ones I loved, I really really loved and even read Shade’s Embrace probably three times! Others were so good I still think about them. Overall, what a fun ride! Mild spoilers below.

I love that this is a charity anthology and the variety of authors. I would give it 5 stars but there were tons of editing problems and a good deal of duds so I think 4 stars is good. I’d recommend this anthology. Easy to read without too much of a commitment.
I skipped several and don’t plan to revisit BUT if you see one I skipped that you were a HUGE fan of, please convince me in the comments and maybe I’ll give it another shot! Enjoy!

1. Taken to Revatu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I thought this was original and loved the uniqueness of the heroine. She is dark skinned with long white hair, strong and relatable. Love the villain in the story and that the story actually includes the heroine’s family. Seems like a lot of women in alien sci fi romances are sans family. Entertaining read!

2. Saved by The Luxirian ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Fated mates trope but this was cute and pretty sexy. Kept my interest.

3. Kallan ⭐️⭐️: ok. Fated mates trope and luxury space cruise plus crashing on strange planet. Not super memorable, maybe because of all the tropes?

4. Press Pound for Refund ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Cute, amusing and funny. Nice original take with typical male/female role reversals. Not quite good enough to get me to read the novels in same universe but good enough to appreciate.

5. Prize: didn’t finish, couldn’t get into it
6. Plummeting Hearts: didn’t grab me and didn’t read very far, I was kind of tired of the luxury space cruise trope though so maybe it is good 🤷🏻‍♀️

7. Stolen by the Arcav ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: fated mates but with an enemies to lovers aspect and originally executed, plus sexy as hell and exciting, though short.

8. Shade’s Embrace ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: tied for my FAVORITE in the whole book from what I’ve read so far. Olivia Riley is a BOSS! I gobble up everything she writes and this short story got me in the heartstrings in addition to stimulating other parts of my body, if you know what I mean! The cost of this book is worth it for this story on its own. Just read it!!

9. Promised Mate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I thought this was so cute, sexy and heartfelt/endearing. Very likeable characters and cool world building. This likely could have been written out as an entire full length novel.

10. The Wandering Star:Fallen: I skipped this one for a couple reasons unrelated to the writing, one of them being it was on a luxury space cruise trope. But maybe it’s good 🤷🏻‍♀️

11. Saved by the Fae Alien ⭐️⭐️: did not finish. Boring, fated mates trope. I also kind of hated that they tried to mix fae with aliens. Just kinda feel like fae belong on the earth only, you know?

12. Talinn: for whatever reason, didn’t read much of this one. Not sure if it’s good.

13. Mended and Marked ⭐️: this was good for most of the story and interesting enough to keep me reading until the end. Unique because heroine was pregnant and had some hot scenes. The ending just sucked balls and didn’t match the tone of the rest of the story. That is all. Omegaverse

14. Calder: Warlord Brides ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I liked this one and thought it was cute and entertaining. Alien stalker romance

15. The Yearning ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: this is the other one tied for my FAVORITE in this book! Sooo damn good. It had so much depth and avoided cliches and the hero in the story was truly amazing and such a fresh take. Out of all the stories I’ve read this one haunts me a bit and really tugs the heartstrings.

16. Trusting his Mate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Solid despite the fated mates.

17. Hunting Galaxies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Original and a little dark. Not your typical alien which I like.

18. Saved by the Prisoner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I thought this was great, full of action and I liked that the heroine was the alien instead of always having the heroine being human.

19. Protected by the Alien Warlord ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Very sexy and had some good S&M vibes. Kinda had a lot of elements going on but it somehow worked well together.

20. Cyborg Assasin X…: it could be great but way too much work to follow. The cyborgs all had like 6 digit hodgepodge numeric and letter names. My brain hurts, didn’t get far before giving up.

21. Claimed Princess ⭐️⭐️: did not finish. Started off strong but I got so bored with the fated mates omegaverse tropes that I didn’t feel like finishing it. One good thing is that I enjoyed the physical description of the princess and could see her clearly in my mind’s eye.

22. Escorting the Alien ⭐️⭐️: I liked the beginning, the banter between them and resistance to coming together. It would have been great if the fated mate trope hadn’t come out of nowhere. Automatically makes for boring storyline. Also there were several continuity errors in this story that made it sloppy.

23. Alien Tempted⭐️: I tried really hard to finish this and it was just impossible. Insta love. Big blue aliens with moving horns and heartmates. Just not good. So many cliches and characters in love within a week based on fate and nothing else. The two headed beast between his legs could not save the story.

24. Silver Sidhe ⭐️⭐️: I liked the silver alien features and description and liked the premise of both being captives. I was even able to look past the fated mates thing, but this story had tons of spelling and grammar errors (example: one line says it was harder said than done), build up that didn’t pay off, and a crappy ending. Feels like I was told I was going along on a certain fun ride and got left in the parking lot. I will be avoiding this author’s (Iona Strom) work.

25. Pippa’s Quandary-tried to read twice but could not get interested

26. The Bodyguard’s Deception- ⭐️⭐️⭐️- middle of the road. I don’t think the fated mate element was necessary at all, couldn’t they have just loved each other based on shared experience? Why does it have to be fated in sci fi stories for characters to be faithful and loyal to each other? Favorite and most interesting part was the beguile scene, that was very well written. I just wish that it was explored more and the rest of the story didn’t end up being so cliche.

27. Alien Castaway! ⭐️⭐️⭐️- fine story, liked that heroine was more assertive with the alien she liked. Liked that she visited him as he was a prisoner and they had time to talk and get to know each other so it wasn’t insta love. The first half of the story was really excellent. After the first half, things got a little mundane and boring. Same ending has been told a bunch of times before.

28. Mate for the Alien Pornstar ⭐️⭐️⭐️: this story was very original and unique. It was the first time I’d read a story where a character uses the “they” pronoun, in this case it was an alien species that all goes by “they” due to their dual sex anatomy at birth . Ambitious and definitely deserves props. I would have rated it more highly but the sex scenes didn’t sizzle for me as much, that could be my personal preference.

29. Reaver’s Kiss: skipped for now, will maybe revisit

30. Out of the Frying Pan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: 3.75 liked unique alien, cooking and the originality. Beth was unfortunately unlikeable due to her lack of gratitude and bratty attitude. Also I definitely could’ve thought of a better ending, kinda ended on cliffhanger.

31. Claiming her Freedom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I know people will have issues with this one big time but I liked it a lot. Sorry/not sorry. Sometimes fiction can just be an escape and not some political/moral stance.

32. Scarlett and the Alien Savage ⭐️⭐️: Interesting at first, but then became predictable. Ending is unfinished with lots of problems. Full of distracting typos.

33. Releasing Maladek ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: 3.75 stars. I was really interested in the Char Tomi character, just wish for more story with him in it. Interesting take on a human living and working independently in the galaxy and not knowing any other humans. Creative and avoids tropes, except for that pesky fated mates thing.

34. Savage Galaxy Rescue-skipped for now
35. Her Warrior From The Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: this one had some darker elements but overall it was really good. Props for showing a disabled heroine plus super hot and fun alien guy.

36. Captured by the Riloxian ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: solid and kept me entertained

37. Space Fighter’s Mate ⭐️⭐️⭐️: ok, had some interesting things but fated mates made for a lazy story

38. Honeymoon on the Red Planet: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: 3.75

39. Stranded Hearts: ⭐️⭐️⭐️: 3.4 started out strong but the romance was too easy and predictable at the end.

40. Aliens Getaway: DNF fated mates, no romantic suspense at all and sacrificed a likeable character at beginning for no apparently good reason

41. Claiming Kara: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: pretty good though it could have wrapped more up in the finish

42. Tumbling through Stardust: ⭐️: kinda hated this one because it was so slow and also way too depressing for my tastes. A lot of world building but not enough happening to move the story along and the boringness even extended into the sexy scenes unfortunately. Feel like I have a bad book hangover. Also title has zero to do with the story and title might be the only thing I like about it

43. The Exiled of She’Reaux:⭐️⭐️⭐️: omegaverse story with all the expected tropes, including fated mates and knotting

44. Crash Landed Alien Love!: ⭐️⭐️⭐️: interesting enough and keeps you there till the end.

45. Rescued by the Lantian Prince:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: unique and had some super steamy vibes. Human/merman M/M S&M story. Not every day you can say you read one of those!

46. A’jax: ⭐️⭐️⭐️: this was different than the other stories in this book where it dealt had an element of cheating in it and also had a very visually interesting planet and hero. I like how it featured the animal life of the planet. Not super steamy but it did have some scary vibes that I enjoyed.

47. Doggone Alien Love:⭐️: Did not finish due to it being too annoying and not enough aliens. It was about an influencer and her dog Mr. Sparklepants. Don’t care enough to put up with typos and dry material. Darn was hoping to go out with a bang.

This review is for Princess Claimed by Alison Aimes:

It’s raining cats and dogs…no wait… and princesses?
Loved the beginning of this story!! …and the ending…and everything in between.

When Ari falls into Pavel’s arms, literally, there is no denying their chemistry, their connection, their bond - it’s powerful. All within a matter of minutes, these two knew they were meant to be together.

Fierce and primal and growly and virile, Pavel was one sexy beast. If I were to ever have an outlaw of my own, I’d want him to be exactly like him.

And not only is Pavel a beautiful, pierced and scarred alpha who is not one to be messed with, but Ari is one badass omega. She’s sassy and feisty and will do what it takes to protect those she loves. An ex-con and an angel - a perfect match.

I am yet again blown away by the talented words of Ms. Aimes. Even though this is a novella, it still packs a helluva punch. It’s intense, it’s full of passion and heart, and has plenty of smiley and swoony and emotional moments. I was always FEELING, always reeling with each page. I should know once I start a book by this author, I’ll be so immersed in the world she created, I won’t want to do anything else but read and finish the story.

I loved Pavel & Ari’s story so much.
It’s crazy good. And crazy HOT.
I want an outlaw of my own. And I want to be his angel.

Action galore and steamy deliciousness all the way through had me biting my nails and gripping my kindle often. The author did a fabulous job at making me crave more, want more, NEED more with each turn of the page.

Do you need to read the other books in this series? No. But you’ll want to after reading this one.

I look forward to reading more stories from this anthology!

Once a fierce warrior, now a gladiator with special abilities, Talinn finds his fated mate in the arena, of all places. Thanks to devious scientists, Talinn’s body is filled with reptilian DNA, making him super strong and the ideal gladiator. He takes no pleasure in fighting in the arena, only finding the strength to survive. He sees no escape but refuses to give up. When he first lays eyes on Bailey, he instinctively knows she’s his fated mate. But convincing her is a long, enduring ordeal. The locals are afraid of her so they make her a prize for one lucky gladiator. He must win her to protect her from the other gladiators. How can he protect her after he claims victory? Can she love him the way he loves her, even if he isn’t human? Together, they hatch a plan for escape but will they succeed or will they be trapped forever in their circumstances.

Talinn is a story featured in the Claimed Among the Stars anthology and it’s an unforgettable sci-fi romance. This is book three in this series and must admit, it’s my favorite so far. Talinn is a rugged hero you’ll fall in love with, and Bailey is a spirited heroine. Veronica Scott is one of my favorite authors, especially when it comes to science fiction romance. Her expertise in world-building, characters who leap from the page and into your heart, and expressive narration are on display in Talinn. From the beginning, I connected with Talinn. He’s a paradox especially when it comes to love. The plot moves at a terrific pace with plenty of characters to interact with. I adored the pecking order amongst the gladiators. I found myself mesmerized by the romance. If you’re a romance reader, you’ll enjoy Talinn. If you love sci-fi romance, you’ll want to read Talinn. If you like your romance dark and filled with adventure, pick up Talinn. Highly recommend!

I only read Shade's embrace by Olivia Riley for now; I will maybe read the others later but was mainly interested in this story.

"This is my city. And you're mine now, little human"

✴ Madelyn, the heroine, has crashed her pod on the wrong planet/city: in "the shadow cleave," humans are not liked or considered; they are used for sex or food.

Shade is an alien crime lord who hates humans and considers Madelyn indebted to him since she crashed on her territory; he decides to make her work for him and quickly realizes he wants her for himself.

I loved it; the only downside was that the novella was too short, and I think Olivia Riley is an author who works better with longer stories and slow-burn romance.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a little more "steamy" and darker than the author usually wrote.

One of the things I like the most about this author's books is how inhuman-looking her heroes are; when I read a romance between a human and an alien, I want him to look and feel like an alien.

Tropes :

🟪 "Dark" romance
🟪 Alien / human romance
🟪 "Ennemies to lovers" ( It doesn't last very long)
🟪 Possessive H

Safety/ Spoilers / TW :

🟦 No sharing or cheating
🟦 History: H is experienced and had a lot of lovers in the past. h is not a virgin, but not many details on her experience.
🟦 OM: Not really. h is a dancer and makes H jealous when she is touching one of the customers.
🟦 OW: Not really either. Some of the other dancers are past lovers of H and try to make h jealous, but they only have eyes for each other.

I'm a sucker for a good sci-fi romance, so when I came across this (while searching to see if Victoria Aveline had announced a new Clecanian book), I mashed the pre-order button so fast. There's a ton of different authors' stories in the book (my Kindle is showing a reading time of 80+ hours), many of whom I'm unfamiliar with, but I'm pathologically unable to skip around, so I'll be adding short-but-sweet reviews in the order they're published, editing the review as I read. ✌️

Taken to Revatu by Elizabeth Stephens
⭐⭐⭐
While I enjoyed most of the story, a few quirks of it lost me. I adored Grizz and didn't mind Latanya, though I wanted to facepalm a few times at her actions. I had a hard time keeping the mishmash of language straight; I forgot between "sesiva'a" and "nebiya" which was "what" and which was "why", and was getting a little annoyed every time "sesiva'a" in particular showed up and I read it wrong. I'm also not a fan of female gushing, but that's more of a personal squick. I also didn't care for Negunn--he seemed a little mustache-twirling--and . I did enjoy the reveal of and the smut was admittedly hot (gushing aside). Although this story wasn't enough to put the rest of the Xiveri Mates series at the top of my to-read list, it was still enough to pique my interest for when I'm hunting for a different series to start.

Rescued by the Luxirian by Zoey Draven
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is my favorite kind of romance--a sweet, character-driven piece. No big baddie, no evil to overcome, just two people learning how to fit together. Droxan and Lyra were both charming and well-adjusted, which was a lovely aberration, and I could believe in their romance, even beyond the "fated mates" aspect. I would've loved to see it a little longer, but such is the nature of an anthology. I've already added the first book of Warriors of Luxiria to my wishlist.

Kallan by Kate Rudolph
⭐⭐⭐
This really needed to be a much longer story. The drama and action felt a bit lackluster--they needed a little more build-up and room to play out. Kallan and Jana could also have used some fleshing out to bring unique traits to the fore; they struck me as a little flat. Sweet together, but flat. The motivations of the in particular eluded me, as did the fact that there was a at all; it went from speculation to accepted fact way too quickly. It was well-written overall, but felt like it went off the rails, like it couldn't decide if it wanted to be a gentle romance or action story and settled as a soft combination of both.

Press Pound for Refund by V.K. Ludwig
⭐⭐
Despite having just finished this one, I'm having a hard time remembering it. Jero was a little wishy-washy to me, and Dani a little abrasive. Jero's acceptance of Dani's offer was quite sudden to me, as well; I didn't feel like there was enough build-up for him to seemingly compromise his life goals for what she was offering. I don't know, the whole thing just didn't gel. There were also some typos that caught my eye (seizes v. ceases, plains v. planes) and threw me here and there. Overall, this wasn't one for me.

Prize by Tana Stone
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m always down for a good threesome but wasn't expecting it in the anthology, so this one was a pleasant surprise. (I'd tag it as a spoiler, but it's pretty obvious that's where it's heading within a couple of chapters.) Cat never really clicked for me, but I enjoyed Dev and Trek's relationship with each other and Cat (although the move from rescue to sex was a little abrupt). There was just enough conflict to keep things interesting without overwhelming the romance or requiring a longer story to be resolved. I could've done without the epilogue, though--it seemed weird to put a teaser for a new novel (at least I’m guessing it'll be a new novel) in an anthology, but that's me. There were a few typos here and there, but what really threw me was part of a chapter that inexplicably switched to first person; I had to read back to make sure I hadn't been hallucinating that it was third-person prior to that. Still, I really enjoyed the story in the end.

Plummeting Hearts by Octavia Kore
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good lord. Remember what I said about being down for a good threesome? This is a good threesome. Sherrey, Brakeer, and Vrauk are all distinct and likable individuals, and Brakeer and Vrauk have a relationship outside of what they share when Sherrey joins the mix. The story itself carried along well, and I loved how the author wove in bits of Sherrey's culture despite them being in an alien setting. There were some parts I wish had been tied up----but overall it flowed well. My one complaint--which is more of a personal thing--is that Sherrey goes into heat; I’m absolutely not a fan of that trope. The relationship between the three overall made up for it, though, hence the five stars. I have such a weakness for relationships, whether a threesome or larger reverse harem, wherein the males are willing and eager to cross swords. This is a story I see myself revisiting at some point--after I’ve checked out some of this author's novels, which seem to follow a similar trend. Yay!

Stolen by the Arcav by Hope Hart
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There were parts of this I really liked, parts that confused me, and parts that made me roll my eyes, but overall it was a good read for me. I enjoyed the fated mates trope not being sunshine and roses, and actually liked Raimox's attitude toward humans in the beginning. Well, perhaps "liked" isn't the right term... Appreciated? And Devin's reaction made sense in the context of the world-building. On the other hand, I was confused by some of the other characters' actions. The eye rolling came . I’d be interested in exploring more of the world, regardless--it strikes me as a little darker than the norm without being completely apocalyptic, which will hopefully be a good balance.

Shade's Embrace by Olivia Riley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally, an author I'm familiar with! This was darker than anything in the anthology (so far), which was honestly kind of welcome. I'll confess to usually preferring fluff, but every now and then I want some meat to sink my teeth into, yeah? This delivered that for me; it was just dark enough to satisfy the craving without being so dark as to be distastefully grim. Shade was delightfully alien--a preference of mine when reading romance about aliens--and Maddie balanced him well enough. I did enjoy that she had value that she brought to the table but also a sense of vulnerability, instead of being a sassy airhead. I enjoyed less . Was it part of the anthology prompt and had to be shoehorned in? I don't know, but I think everything would've stood on its own just fine without the ambiguous reference. That being said, I did still enjoy exploring the relationship between Shade and Maddie.

Promised Mate by Tasha Black
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This really needed to be a full-length novel, but for its length, it was charming. It was interesting to see a human (sorry--Terran) female with an origin that wasn't Earth. I would've loved to see Pacifica's (and the Foundation's) culture developed more to give Hyacinth and Viktor's personalities and capabilities more context. Also: I think a little more room for development could've easily solved those issues, though. I did enjoy the story, I mostly just wish there was more of it.

The Wandering Star: Fallen by SJ Sanders
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Let me reiterate that I loves me a good threesome, and this is my favorite so far. Hlek and Krith were distinct and interesting individuals, and the draconian aspect of their appearances was intriguing. Kelly was believable--nervous and cautious initially, growing braver without turning sassy. I liked her much more than I expected to! The story itself was interesting with enough tension--outside of sexual tension--to keep things moving, though there were bits of it that made my eyebrow go up. Kelly's attraction to the Zelekzans seemed to develop a little too quickly, but, again, that's heavily influenced by the anthology format, I'm sure. I'm also still trying to figure out why intimacy between humans and aliens was illegal in United Earth. I think my favorite part was the lack of fated mates; it was wonderful to see a romance bloom without it feeling coerced. I'll be looking up more from this author, for sure.

Saved by the Fae Alien by Jessica Grayson & Jade Waltz
⭐️
This was my least favorite so far. Avery and Kiran were insipid and unappealing, and their insta-love is absolutely not my thing. I prefer at least a little tension before lovers accept their feelings, but if there was any here, it was a blink-and-you-miss-it thing. There was so much potential with the pirate raid, but that all but vanished after the first two chapters. I’m a bit baffled by the Elveron physiology, too. They have wings like dragonflies, but Kiran can wrap them around Avery. They knot. They lay eggs. They have fangs that sound just shy of vampiric. They can control the element their goddess imbues them with, but Kiran doesn’t use fire (his element) for self-defense when he and Avery are attacked, only to cook the animal he just slaughtered with his retractable claws. It was… too much. The Elveron society was a little too perfect, too— I’ll admit that the insta-love put me off enough that I was disinclined to give the story much of a chance, but I still didn’t find much else that suited my tastes here.

Talinn by Veronica Scott
⭐️
This was very nearly a DNF for me--it was so very not to my tastes. Pacing was awkward and POVs flipped back and forth within chapters, which was a little disorienting. Dialogue was stilted and everyone was too verbose yet sounded pretty much identical to everyone else. The approach to the genetic engineering/modification of the Badari didn't gel for me, and the mind reading shared among the pack didn't make sense. It felt like a hodgepodge of ideas that didn't quite come together. Plus: knotting. (Rilling?) Also, I found "The Lords of Space" to be a really weird reference to deities, for whatever reason. I made it through this in the end, but definitely will not be revisiting it.

Mended and Marked by V.T. Bonds
⭐️
Nope. Nope, nope, nope. A/B/O is even less my thing than genetically-engineered gladiators. I can't even rate this fairly--I should've noped out in chapter one with the giant semen pill, but I pressed on until chapter ten, growing more repulsed with every word. Was it well-written? Maybe? I can't move past the subject matter to assess it, so if you don't mind A/B/O, this might be the best thing since sliced bread. I honestly don't know.

Review for Alison Aimes - Princess Claimed

Ari and Pavel were an ahhhmaaazzzing couple!
*****
Rating: 5 sassy Ari stars
Steam: 3 “Good Girl” Flames
Genre/Tropes: Sci-Fi Romance, Antihero, Steamy, Fated Mates, Broken Hero
*****
I absolutely love Alison Aimes books so I was ecstatic when I found out she was writing a story for this anthology… I couldn’t wait to gobble it up… and gobble I did!

I love the growly, bossy (oh so bossy in a good way) alpha, loner, and antihero, Pavel. He has some issues and life has not been kind to him…He's been through more than anyone should, and he now makes a living transporting contraband throughout the galaxy.

Ari was a sassy, spunky, and fierce heroine. When she falls into Pavel's arms, neither of them realizes how their lives are about to change. These two have to overcome enormous obstacles if they are to have a happy ending.

Princess Claimed has a lot of punch for a short story. Ms. Aimes ensured this story had world-building, originality, great characters, STEAM (did I mention the whole praise kink) and page-turning plot! Often with short stories, I feel like something is missing... but not in this one. The only thing lacking is more Ari and Pavel...

This collection not only features some fantastic authors, but it also benefits a worthy cause, all proceeds will benefit The National Women's Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation. As a survivor of domestic violence, I sincerely appreciate everything these authors have done for this cause.

Do I recommend it? Heck yes! You get a ton (5784 pages) of short sci-fi romance stories from some of the genre’s favorite authors AND purchase makes a donation to help women! That is a WIN WIN in my opinion. What are you waiting for? Grab this limited release anthology today!

I bought this for VC Lancaster’s story called ‘Claiming Her Freedom’ and it was totally worth it!

I have binged 95% of her catalogue and I was still pleasantly surprised by the ‘reveal’ of the story. No spoilers, but I had so much fun reading about Elle and Borial.

I keep creeping on her social media to find out what she’s working on next but the last blog post we have is from 2021. 😭 Of course her mental health comes first.

VC, if you’re out there, just know I just absolutely adore your stories and would like more to binge. Silver and the Tirra sister series was so much fun!

Oh my goodness! This is a treasure trove of awesome stories! (and yes, this means I wish I could do more than 5 stars) So many of my fav authors are tucked in here, along with some new-to-me ones, and while I haven't finished the entire anthology, I can't say enough about how much I've enjoyed diving into new stories by Alana Khan, Elin Wyn, Kate Rudolph, Ava Ross, Julie Cohen, Tasha Black, Honey Phillips, Lynnea Lee...do you see where I'm going with this?? So many fab authors, so many fab stories - and many hours of binge reading fun :D

Claimed Among The Stars is FILLED with FANTASTIC stories! I promise it will feel like you have the deal of a lifetime for only .99 cents!
You know how you always have one story in an anthology that just resonates in you? For me it was The Yearning, Galaxy Artificials by Alana Khan!
First, Evelyn is kidnapped and when she wakes up, she's put into a shock collar then, shoved into a little cage. She finds she's been sold to reptilian humanoids as a sex slave. Could the day get any worse? Of course it can. Now the ship they're on is crashing!
240 is the android caretaker of an asteroid for the Cartel. When he sees a pod crashing he investigates. He finds the little human and to his surprise she's alive. Is she a spy? Is the Cartel onto him?
At first she fears him but he's nothing but accommodating, seeing that her every need and comfort are met. As time goes on they get more and more comfortable with each others presence and draw closer. She no longer sees him as an android but as someone with emotions and a beautiful heart. For 200 years he's evolved. He's yearned for companionship. He yearns for her to see him. He yearns for her. Only her.
Grab your tissues, you'll need them!
Great characters and world building.
Another great one is Taken To Revatu by Elizabeth Stephens!
After her escape pod crashes, Latanya is faced with two choices. First, dive off of a cliff. Second, be assaulted by an affluent perverted prince who even though he has never hid his lust for her but has also talked down to her from the moment they met. The cliffs looking pretty good right about now.
Gormativ or Grizz and his hunting party see the crash and go to investigate and salvage what they can. That's where he finds, , ,her. He's sure of a few things. First, that she's a sentient being. Second, she's a lovely one at that. Third and most important, that she's his Xiveri mate. The one that could unlock his Hunger!
Without her translator working correctly, she can understand him and his tribe but, they can't understand her. It's just not her day! He's paired with her to show her the ways of the tribe and that's suppose to be all. Yet they can't fight the Xiveri's call. I will say this, when they do come together it's as unusual as it is explosive!
Unanswered questions get answered. Dangerous, deceitful and devious villians get their comeuppance and surprise character pop ins made the story for me.
Was this a delightful story? Shenti (yes) very much so!

The Yearning by Alanah Khan: AI in the garden of Eden
I really enjoyed this story exploring the interaction between humans and AI. Tying into the cartel storyline from Alanah’s other novels, this brought yet another dimension to relationships evolving between abducted human women and enslaved males. The creativity and imagery used to explorer what “being human” was all about was simply wonderful. Although the epilogue did leave me in tears, it was a beautiful ending for Adam and Eve.

Fated by Hattie Jacks: Finding Home
This was an enjoyable story that dovetails with other novels in the series about the Gryn warriors. Sara and Lyon meet in the most unlikely and unexpected way, making several discoveries together. Although brief, the couple forges a path away from the past and embraces a new place to call home. I enjoyed the sci fi situations, descriptions and aliens portrayed blended with some snarky fun banter between several of the characters.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

This review is based only on the story by Stolen by the Arcav by Hope Hart.

This one was short, but covered so many feelings for when the Arcav arrived and how learning of mates went. While this one ended in a good way, you have to wonder how it would have gone had they just talked at first.

9/11/22 - Shade's Embrace - Olivia Riley. 3'ish stars. I found Madelyn to be extremely idiotic all throughout the story, which made it hard to like.

Originally reviewed on 8/2/22
When this was promo'd by the authors at 99cents, I thought "what the heck, and it's for a good cause."

Zoey Draven - Rescued by the Luxirian. This is also part of a series but I was able to jump in without much trouble. Draven did a good job giving you enough background so that the reader isn't completely lost. I have to say this was just ok for me. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.

Stolen by the Arcav - Hope Hart. I love her Arcav series and was glad to find this as part of this book. I wasn't prepared for how emotional it was. 5 stars

I intend to read more of these when i can. I do have to say that the majority of this anthology is mediocre at best. I'm glad it was only a dollar to buy.

I was very impressed with the story “The Yearning written by Alana Khan” and it is a fantastic addition to this Sci-Fi Charity Anthology. I’m not going to give the plot away but I can tell you that it is definitely worth reading as there is excellent world building & outstanding character development.
There is: a human female (Evelyn), an android (240 aka Adam), an alien mafia cartel (ZanMar), pirates, various kinds of aliens, drama, suspense, twists & turns, action, abduction, complications, a crash landing, discovery, fear, distrust, attractions, threats, danger, confrontation, compromises & some steam. The epilogue is quite sad but it is a fitting ending to a magnificent love story.

Alison Aimes - Princess Claimed - 3 stars!

For the time being, this is the only story I am going to read in here but if I read more I will go back and add to this review. Princess Claimed is about Ari and Pavel and it was good. Pavel is our hero and has been through a lot in his life. He sees the worst in people and expects nothing from anyone because most let him down. He is a loner, most definitely an alpha male and spends his days transporting goods through the galaxy - illegal and mostly legal.

One fateful day, Ari drops into his arms but she is hurt and remembers nothing of what happened or who she is. Ari is tenacious and fierce but she melts like goo in Pavel's arms. But with Pavel's life and history and Ari's currently blank sheet, they will have to work through everything that comes their way to have a happy ending.

“You . . . you are fucking beautiful.” He cleared his throat. “I’ve transported a thousand riches across this galaxy and never seen anything that shines as bright as you.”

I have really enjoyed Alison Aimes Omegaverse world but I think this one fell a little flat because it was so short. Everything felt rushed to me. That being said, it was full of action and steam and I wish it had been longer.

Overall a LONG and great anthology to read through.

Taken to Revatu: *4/5* A great start to this 40+ stories of sci fi romance anthologies. An orc that turns into a dragon and we get dragon smut?? Yaaaas. It was a bit difficult to read. We've got a language barrier and it was a little confusing for the reader for a bit.

Rescued by the Luxirian: 5/5 Breeding Stars. Damn this was good. Angsty but the sexy kind. Not the fighting back and forth kind but the electricity is in the air, we gonna make a baby tonight with just our eyes kind. Isolated on a planet just the two of them AND her body is fertile from fertility medication. Hot hot hot.

Kallan: 2/5 It was pretty average. Average aliens and humans make stupidly average choices while they're running from danger. One smut scene. Meh

Press Pound for Refund: 5⭐This made me giggle, swoon, and horny all in 100 pages. This was cuuuute. Alien with horns and a tail that spent two decades becoming a master in how to please women to prepare him for his future mate. The effort is astounding.

Prize: 3/5 pretty hot. Twin alien brothers find their fated mate when she crash lands on their sand planet. Also they can MIND MATE. That's right, they can read each other's minds. And they do, for filthy reasons. This is a short story in an already existing universe by Tana Stone, (Barbarians of the Sand Planet 7 books and I'm gonna read that before I continue on with the anthology.)

"Plummeting Hearts 5/5 This was SO GOOD. Def going to look more into the author.

Stolen by the Arcav: 4/5🌟 very interesting. There are 8 books in the Arcav series and this happens during events of the first book. The ending was rushed and I wouldn't have minded it being a little longer but it convinced me to read the series.

Shade's Embrace 1/5 fmc got Stockholm syndrome with a warlord who makes her dance in his club. no cheating but there is flaunting of other women. It's a short story so we don't see ANY of the kindness she talks about that makes her fall in love with him. A naïve girl.

Promised Mate: 3/5 🌟 teacher/student trope. Loved the background of an all woman planet and babies born through science instead of men. Our couple had great tension, I just wish I had more than one short smut scene :(

The Wandering Star: Fallen 3/5 🌟 MFM ROMANCE! Also, the mmcs were described as dragon-like. Reptilian scales. Horns everywhere. A snout. Very monstrous and not very human looking at all. So literally monster fucking in this one. Even though sex is pretty light. Tail play, DP. What was off for me, time was skipped and in that time their bond grew. I would have wanted to read all that.

Saved By The Fae Alien: 3/5 was going to be two stars but the smut was pretty hot. The writing however, meh. Idk if it was because it was two authors but information that we were aware of changed on accident I'm assuming and conversations were duplicated The story was a mishmash but you could understand it. The mistakes just took you out of the story.

Talinn: 1/5 I did not enjoy this author's writing. I was bored and their discussions were flat. They didn't bicker or fight their bond, which I liked. It was a good story, I wish it wasn't written so flatly.

Mended & Marked: 1/5 It was gonna be a 2 but the ending was weird. I've read a few books where the fmc is already pregnant and finds love, and none of them have been as annoying and emotional as this omega. If she wasn't crying, she was growling with jealousy, or whining from being horny. There was nothing normal. It was a short story where she was in distress the entire time. Odd and not satisfying to read.

Caldar: 2/5 This was a tease Our mmc gets shot with a serum that makes him want to breed and WE. DON'T. EVEN. GET. TO. SEE. IT. Like at all. He claims his mate with a bite but they don't have sex. :( these characters are cute as hell and that is the only reason this gets 2 stars. The first half of the story was fun and then the second half was boring and the lead up to mating led to friggin nothing.

The Yearning: 5/5! omg this is a great robot/human romance. This was enjoyable to read and giggle at. Also crying. idk what it is about robot/cyborg/machine epilogues but they always get my sobbing. Totally going to check out this author, Alana Khan.

Trusting His Mate: 5/5 this was funny and cute. It made me want to read more from this author!

Hunting Galaxies: DNF. So boring. The writing is awful.

Saved by the Prisoner, 3/5 needed some editing and be a bit more descriptive because I didn't realize our fmc had 4 tits until she got naked. Lol like halfway through the book I was like HUH? FOUR?? How do they stack?

Protected by the Alien Warlord, 1/5 trigger warnings: slavery more than just the kinky kind, sexual assault and physical abuse, rape. I wasn’t really fond of either main character. It didn’t make me feel good. The overall story was about the Prince (mmc) signing a treaty with a tribe that makes women their pets. And although he isn’t okay with it, he signs it anyway. I was expecting an overall plan to take them down but no. he signed the treaty and is now in cahoots with a man who traffic females as “pets” There is a scene where our couple is in a banquet hall and it’s a large orgy. But the women are “pets” she says some are laughing, some are on their knees. (This is the only moment in this book that the women are seen as happy) When the orgy happens she looks to the woman next to her and remarks on how she is moaning and looks so into it. BUT SHE IS NOT. The King literally shoves her away like an object after he used and abused her. The women have been kidnapped and were put on display to be chosen by a warrior for pleasure. So yes, their is rape. Someone can experience pleasure while being assaulted.

Cyborg Assassin : XZ20T2O 1 / 5 a why choose romance with no personality.

Archlord of Exile: 2/5 was pretty sad for most of it. One out of three semi smut scenes was forced by the villain's hand so the couple would make a baby for the Queen. It was kind of dark.

Princess Claimed: 4/5 amnesia/temporarily blind princess and outlaw smuggler. Alpha and omega, knotting. This was noiiiiice.

Escorting the Alien: 1/5 The writing turned me off. It was all very mechanical with the way they spoke to each other. and they kept having the same conversation over and over again.

Fated: 2/5 bird man love story, 2🍆 but i was confused for a lot of the story. It didn't make sense most of the time.

Alien Tempted: 2/5 I liked the story but they kept talking about the same thing over and over again. wishy washy characters. TW: mentions of sex slavery, rape, kidnapping. The heroine has a darker history.

Silver Sidhe: 4/5 this was a good story but there is literally no conclusion! The story ends with them on a new planet, hiding from an alien, waiting for rescue.

Pippa's Quandry 1/5. So confusing and boring.

The Bodyguard's Deception 3/5 This was so cute! Knotting!!

Alien Castaway: 5/5 LOVED THIS. Honey Phillips is on my tbr so this was exciting to read.

Mate for the Alien Porn Star: 5/5 this one was so cute and sexy! A fun adventure

Reaver's Kiss: 3/5 This was cute and a very easy read. no tension at all, they basically fall in love easy peasy. There is a huge time jump so we don't get a lot of detail but I looked up the author and they turned this novellas into book #4 of an already existing series. So in the future I'll check it out!

Out of the Frying Pan: 4/5 I wish we had dual POV but this was a fun story. smut was meh though

Claiming Her Freedom: 3/5 I don't know how I feel about this. This was a hard read, like how as a reader am I supposed to route for a love interest who bought the fmc as a SLAVE. Like, girl hated him but also felt sorry for him, but also was attracted to him. So many emotions.

Releasing Maladek: 5/5 This was amazing! I loved this couple. The hero is sweet as can be and is very protective of his mate. I loved Maladek so much!

Savage Galaxy Rescue: 2/5 This was odd. The author has a more edited version with a bonus scene that is published if you want more but I don't think I will be reading more for this world.

Her Warrior from the Stars: 2/5 meh. Idk I like that there is disability representation and the beginning was great but there wasn’t a lot of character development. It was a bland story. Could have been so much more!

Captured by the Riloxian 1/5: I was really bored. They all spoke so oddly it was hard to relate to any of the characters.

Space Fighter’s Mate: 3/5  Fast paced and cute story. But very fast paced, not a lot of detail or character development.

Honeymoon on the Red Planet: 2/5 I like the premise but the execution was bland. The story didn’t match up with the world. It was like modern touches to a Victorian story. For example, The aliens have wallets with condoms? Seems very human when aliens have more technology, more advancements in medicine.

Stranded Hearts: 2/5 I could care less about the main love interests and their journey. The planet they crash on is so freaking cool! I'm no stranger to sci-fi romance books where worlds are deserts or forests of giant truck size Venus flytraps. This crystal forest, though, is the first time I've read something like that, that I can recall. And it was so cool to read about how it works.

Alien's Getaway 5/5 stars. This was super cute and I loved how easy it was to enjoy their coming together moment. Low angst and lots of fluff!

1 book down so to go. This is my dream collection as I love sci fi and alien stories, and such a great chance to try new authors. Not sure how to review each 1 once I've read but this is a review for the 1st story, Taken to Revatu by Elizabeth Stephens.

Was really looking forward to this story, but also wasn't too sure about this book. As although I've absolutely loved the other books in this Xiveri collection, I'm new to an Orc hero. I really didn't have to worry cause I loved Grizz and Latanya.

Although this book is a novella, it still feels like a proper full length book. Obviously it's shorter but it doesn't feel rushed, and you still get brilliant chemistry between Grizz and Latanya and all the drama, humour and sweet and sexiness that I've come to expect from Elizabeth Stephen's. Oh and there's some serious raunchy scenes lol.

I definitely recommend this book, and if you've not read the other books in the Xiveri collection, go and get them now and you'll seriously not regret it. Although this is a standalone so you don't have to, too thoroughly enjoy this book.

I will slowly work my way through this behemoth of an anthology and update my review for each story.

🪐Releasing Maladek, by Victoria Aveline
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quick Summary: Katie, a human servant for alien royalty, is onboard a ship when it crash lands on a hostile planet. She must survive, avoid capture, and find her friends. Everything seems hopeless until she discovers a prisoner, Maladek, who offers to help her in exchange for release.
✔️Fated Mates
Thoughts: A much deserved HEA for the big, burly Maladek! He is a character we meet in Using Fejo and, without giving anything away, his future at the end of that book is left very unclear. This was sweet (albeit, a little insta-lovey), spicy, and I enjoyed the characters. I hope to see Katie and Maladek pop back up in the series.

The Yearning by Alana Khan- 420, a highly functioning robot who yearns to be more, rescues Evelyn, a captured earth female, after she crash lands on his asteroid. Can Evelyn's initial dependence on 420 as she learns how to exist in her new life turn into friendship and perhaps the illusive more? Captivating story enriched by great character development.
