One year and a half after her departure, Varya Petrov is still fighting against time itself. With Grindelwald's attacks on Hogwarts becoming more and more aggressive, there is only a matter of time before the war is lost. Varya has been assigned one task- find the remaining Deathly Hallows and protect them from Grindelwald. With a team of extraordinary witches and wizards, she sets out to track the Cloak of Invisibility and the Resurrection Stone. One of them, however, happens to be at Hogwarts, at the hands of infamous Tom Riddle. Her journey is not as easy as she would have thought, because with Hogwarts under lockdown and a battle looming over their heads, reuniting with the Knights might not be what she had expected.
This book was so good and so frustrating and so sad! It made me feel all the emotions. I just want to know what happens with Varya and Tom in the end though!!!
“Do you not love it when a ruthless woman breaks a man’s heart?”
“Yes, I find myself smothered by your existence” “Well, dear, you will find your eternity to be quite unpleasant then”
“She hated him more than anything, and she loved him soundly regardless”
“I do not fear the darkness […] because it is an irrefutable part of me. It has defined and destroyed me since I was born. And yet I conquered it and bent it to my own will; something that you have failed to achieve […] So, perhaps, it is you who should fear me and what you have bound to my existence- that same darkness you thought would destroy me.”
“Man up, Riddle. Because I am done dealing with boys.”
“I do not love you” he mumbled. “And I still love you”
“That was not love; it was self-destruction.”
“Tom Riddle did not use magic; he was made entirely of it.”
“It is unfair that we must suffer for everyone else, while they go on with their lives as if nothing happened.” “They are people that will be ruled, and we are their rulers. Everything we endure now is the price we must pay for our future.”
“Varya, darling, bitterness does not suit you.” “Tom, love, I could not give two fucks about it.”
“Death was beautiful, for it was a final place of rest. And murder was an addiction.”
“Fine, leave!” The crack in his voice was subtle, “Fucking leave me, Petrov. And see if you can find anyone to love the monster that you are except me.”
“The only thing Tom Riddle was sure of was that he was fucked. Entirely, unreasonably, and thoroughly fucked.”
“You are my eternity,” Tom said slowly, unsure as the uncharacteristic words stumbled past his lips, “I do want you here. I want you by my side through everything I do- even when I push you away, even when I act against you. Perhaps, I had always sought out this, with the obsessive need to have you depend on me when I thought you would chose someone else over me. Or the way I found excuses to bring you back, claiming that I desired to cut our connection while constantly deepening it.”
“[…] but if anyone held a future grand enough to become the symbol of a bloodbath, it was Tom Riddle. He, born from Salazar Slytherin’s line, descendant of the Peverell brothers, and wielder of the Resurrection Stone.”
“You could not defeat me before, yet you have the nerve to try again. You are either brave or outrageously foolish.” “Same thing,” grunted Avery before flicking a knife towards her.

By far the most beautiful book I have ever read aside from the first book in this duology. I cannot even put into words how beautiful and how beautifully written this book was.
If you love Tom riddle or you simply want to read a heartbreaking and thrilling story that keeps you on your toes and never lets you breathe, I highly recommend this because I will never physically, mentally, or emotionally be able to get over this duology.
I do not even bother about Tom in this book; the world revolves around Varva. This duology had me calling all saints and gods like wow-excuse me, but no one does it better than the author. This book is brilliantly written, and the ending? the plot twist? It made me ugly cry while also leaving me joyful. To be honest, this book made me feel a lot, and I adore how each word affects me because it simply goes to show and prove how amazing this book is. All hail Varya Petrov.
This book took me a while to read. The beginning was hard to get in to; but once I got into it I was INTO IT. There were so many plot twists, and moments where I sobbed, but there were also moments where I laughed and smiled. #slay
words cannot explain how much I love this book. like when people ask me what my favorite piece of literature is, I instantly think of this book and how beautifully written it is. this book series was written PERFECTLY. as a huge fan of Harry Potter, this book impacted me so much. I think tom riddle was the most canon in this book; you could definitely see how he is troubled, toxic, and manipulative and will go to whatever lengths he can to get what he wants. But I also think Tom is a troubled boy with childhood issues and that reflects with his need for Varya. Varya is also such a complex character and vary and tom have such a beautiful, longing, angsty, and remarkable romance and companionship. the ending was perfect, I love how it ended on more of a interpretable note and not with a wedding, etc bc that is not tom riddle-like. not only did I connect to tom and varya on a whole another level, but I also connected so well with the side characters. the author did an amazing job on developing the knights of Walpurgis and the seven virtues/devils, and made some of them canon-like. Like I literally refuse to believe this didn't happen canonically. I fell in love with all the side characters and loved how we got to see their back stories and love lives also. I LOVE fantasies with a subplot romance so the plot is good AND the romance is good. Sure this book was long, but it was so worth it. the slowburn was amazing, but never boring because the other plot was interesting. I constantly was staying up until 4 am reading this book and kept wanting more. When I finished this book, I actually felt empty. I cannot wait for the rewrite because this is hands down one of the best literature pieces I have read. The dark romance, the BEAUTIFUL writing, the metaphors, the themes, the intricate character arcs and complex plot developments, all PERFECT. PERFECT.

My one-star review was ready to be sent because of the hatred I had for all the characters in this book. Then, here they are, the last two chapters: was my anger really so weak that it had to be dismantled in two chapters?
And yet, despite everything, I am here again to decree this second book as a masterpiece. The evolution of the characters and the twists keep you on tenterhooks and the writing makes you live the situation described with every fiber. I also appreciate that this second book closes the necessary points, otherwise the author would probably have found any of her social networks clogged with my not very nice messages.
Thank goodness my sanity was kept alive by the girlboss behavior of the protagonist, but let's not increase her ego too much, I would have liked to hit her too at certain moments.
What else to say, dear sins and virtues, I will miss you. With all my hatred, Marti xx.
It’s well written and decent. Writing better than 99% of Wattpad stories. It was very good up until the ending. I unfortunately, didn’t care for the ending. I didn’t like how it wasn’t canon that Dumbledore was the bad guy and somehow Tom Riddle was the good guy?(I love Dumbledore in Harry Potter too) There was a lot of non-canon stuff in this book. If you are looking for a more canon story, this isn’t it. Just be aware of that. The plot has nothing to do with Tom Riddle, more focus on Grindelwald. I was looking more for a fan fiction that focuses on Tom Riddle’s story more at Hogwarts and the horcruxes but that’s just me and my preference. It’s still good though.
I felt there were way too many characters and it was confusing to read as to figure out who was talking. I preferred the first book which was really good and focused more on Tom Riddle’s story at Hogwarts. It’s still good and still worth reading, just a few things I didn’t like or found confusing.

Where do I even begin? This book shattered my soul and left me forced to try and glue all the millions of fragments back together. Incredible foreshadowing, amazing world-building, and poetry-like paragraphs. The characters themselves are what really make this book top-tier. I found myself relating to many of their tragic stories and in some strange way, it helped me deal with my own trauma. I will carry Varya and Tom's story in my heart for the rest of my life.
I am shook. Oh my God. This was 100x better than the 1st in the series and I didn't think that was possible. The way my jaw dropped at the scene in the church when Varya comes back after the battle with Dalibor..... I just. Holy shit. I am obsessed with the entire concept of "history is written by the victors" and this gives an entirely different perspective on the plot of the original HP series that I love. I can't say enough good things about TSV.

FANTASTIC. if i could recommend one book series it would be this one. the ending was - chef's kiss. so many emotions and feelings. the writing is incomparable. i have no words i just wanna scream to the world how amazing this is. I loved this fanfic; fr everything was perfect, the writing, the plot, the characters. I fell in love with every single chapter, and as I kept reading everything was getting better and better. The way that the relation between Varya and Tom grew was chefs kiss 🤌🏻. AND THE EPILOGUE AHHHH 🛐🤌🏻
This is by far the most beautiful two books I have ever read. If you read the first one, then you understand my reasoning. The writing was absolutely beautiful and I have no words for how these two books have affected me. I will forever recommend these, as for how I will continue to reread them.
