Oh man…what a read that starts off like a bullet and doesn’t stop till the end…and even then you want it to keep flying and not stop.
Kevin gets the task of deciding whether to help Layla or not, a former CIA agent, who my or may not be still one. A skilled liar who will say and do anything to get the results she wants. But she isn’t fooling Kevin, or his team and Zane is not having any of it….unless she can convince Kevin to help her. Kevin wants all the info from Layla, the good, the bad and the ugly before he commits to helping her and her team and to get that he will need to break down all her walls, get all her secrets….but can he and his team handle what she reveals when it all comes out.
I LOVED this read, the steam, suspense, secrets, betrayals, twists and turns and most importantly the banter that will have you laughing out loud. Ooops, and the dimples, that make their famous appearance on you know who. Kevin needed a strong woman who could keep up with him and Layla was the one who could go toe to toe with him and not worry about getting her hands bloody…literally…and that was perfection. This read encompasses not just these two, but another team member who is closely entwined with Layla’s team…no spoilers you’ll need to read it to find out. The story flowed beautifully and the descriptions were spot on, felt like I was right there in the middle of all the chaos….not surprising since it is this author and proves once again that she does not disappoint.

Kevin and Layla🤩
Kevin is the next book in the Blue Team series and I really enjoyed this one❣️
Layla meets with the Blue Team and Zane at the end of the last book in the White House with the President, a meeting she secured through a contact, to try enlist Zane’s help to rescue one of her men that’s disappeared overseas and hasn’t made contact in a reasonable timeframe. However, she has to win over Kevin first in her quest and Zane’s not going to make it easy😉
I loved this story and how it shows us more about Garrett and his past and I especially like catching up with my old fav characters and their antics….aka Zane😂 and the new ones as well. Can’t wait for more Blue Team stories😍

I loved this book for its suspense, steamy sizzle and great action. One of the best parts way the fact that the two main characters, Layla Cunnings and Kevin Monroe, were both 40+ years old and brought a lifetime of experience, career highs and emotional lows to the table. Corrupt national security operatives, a decades old vendetta, an international rescue mission and a white hot love affair make Kevin an incredible story. Added to that getting to meet the members of what will become the newest Z Corps team means more great reading coming my way. The interactions between team members is the perfect lighthearted touch. Their banter is irreverent, over-the-top funny and the perfect stress reliever for both before and after an op.

This book was so WORTH the wait.
Action. Suspense. Heat. and best of all, Respect.
Layla needs Zane Lewis' help with a assignment that has gone out of hand. But here is the catch, she has to prove to the Blue Team, specifically to Kevin that's worth their time to take her case on. Layla is a professional liar and Kevin wants nothing to do with someone who is withholding information. The information that Layla is withholding? Crucial. So crucial is will hurt Zane and one of his teams.
Riley Edwards never disappoints. Her stories make you feel like you're hanging with friends in a lounge, playing catch up. She makes you laugh, she makes you cry, and she makes you want to jump up and down on your chair as you cheer on your favorite characters. I particularly love her Team series because it's like reading a live action movie but in a mental reel. She feel what her characters are feeling. I also love how she balances out what her past, current and future characters are experiences.
Kevin was an incredible read. I love how it's addition to the series but it's a gateway to what's upcoming and what to expect down the line. It's a must read and you will definitely enjoy it more if you read her Red and Gold teams series.

I was half and half about this one. And, to be honest, I'm not sure why. I think I didn't really connect with Layla as a character... and I do feel that I need to have some kind of empathy or... even interest in a character in order to want to get to know them. Kevin was fine.
I think part of my 'not totally loving' this issue is that it felt more like an intro to a whole new team. Whereas, it should've been focussed on Kevin and Layla. Sighs.
Not really a spoiler as such, more like we know it's gonna happen type thing...
ANDDDDDD... Garratt? When oh when will Garratt get his prophylactics convo from Zane? December 2022?? Poor bloke isn't going to have blue balls... more like midnight!
No doubt, I will look forward to... and will read both Cooper and Garratt... but, I have to say it is the next 'Takeback' and 'Triple Canopy' reads that I am truly excited for!!
Lastly, in the last 24 hours I have read the latest Lani Lynn Vale, Kris Michaels AND Riley Edwards... wow! Just need some Susan Stoker and Cara Carnes and I will be a happy January bunny!

This story pick up when Layla a former CIA agent or is she really meets Zane, Kevin Monroe former Navy seal and the rest of the blue team. Kevin can spot a liar and one look at sexy Layla he knows she isn't telling the truth. Kevin is giving the task of weeding out her lies before he agrees to help find one of her teammate who has gone missing. Layla a trained liar has to come clean and prove to Kevin that he should help her? But her tale of treason, corruption, murder, betrayal and damaging information will open old wounds for a team she wants help from. Tensions are high as Zane is about to explode with what Layla is insinuating, a secret about one of his men, Garrett Davis which will have a detrimental effect on everyone. This story is full of danger, witty banter, betrayals and sexual chemistry between Kevin and Layla. Has Kevin found a woman who can hold her own against him as he is instantly attracted to her and finds he will protect her at all costs. Book 4 of the Blue Team series hit all the feels and once again (gosh, I do sound like a broken record) Riley Edwards checked all the points and then some. At this juncture, I do believed that no other author writes instalove as emotionally believable as Ms Edwards. At this juncture I would like to make a petition for us to protect Ms Edwards at all cost because I do need her to spin more tales from this world for many more years to come.
Now the story itself, if you have a hard time getting into it at first I do urge you to plow through. Layla can be difficult to swallow at first. You think her cold and remove but dig deep you will see the depth of her loyalty and battle that raged inside her. She feels more alone than ever but she soldiers on for she is the TL (team leader) and if she has to take the fall for the better of her men (and woman) she will do it. She took the gamble and I'm so glad she did because she met Kevin and he's the only man who can unravel her. At first you can sense Kevin's disdain and his BS meter just went off the roof. Then, the more he got to be in Layla's presence he sensed (and need) her to be honest and tell him the whole truth. He feels their connection and he wants to explore it. One thing that made me love this book so much is both MCs are mature, they're in their 40's so when they're committed ... they're truly committed and they don't play mindgames. So many scenes in this book just catch me in all the feels, my favourite is to see the reunion of Garrett and his former team. So so so sweet.
Also, can I please have this special space to declare my undying love for Zane? We do so miss Zane in action and in this book Ms Edwards gave us a tiny smidgen of Zane who went wild. Seriously though, I may really like all the H in this world that Ms Edwards spun but none is like Zane and his drool dripping make you go ga-ga dimples.
Can you read this book out of order, I would say ... maybe yeah but I don't recommend that. Why short change your reading pleasure, read from Book 1. Heck grab the previous series as they are all kind of inter connecting anyways. Enjoy!

I loved watching Layla and Kevin’s connection grow. Kevin was not quite sure of his feelings but knew there was a mutual attraction and his protective instincts roared to life when she was around. He was determined to protect her from their enemy, herself, and even his team. And Layla had been lying about her whole life forever, when her walls came down and she finally confided in Kevin…their connection, feelings, chemistry…sooooo awesome! Definitely a top favorite in the series!

Stand Alone? No, this is a multi-series crossover world. I suggest beginning with book one of the Red Team Series Titled Nightstalker.
There are instalove romances, and ex military romances, and security romances, and suspenseful romances, and covert ops romances….. then there is Kevin, a delightfully funny, super intriguing, edge of your seat combination of all of them.
The latest member of Z Corps to fall hard and fast does so in spectacular fashion! Riley is among author royalty with her super hot, possessive, protective, dirty talking alpha males and she stepped up her game with Kevin.
Once I got going on this book I couldn’t stop. She pulled no punches, she left no room for boredom, she started the action right away and she kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I am bound to have an “up too late reading” hangover and I honestly could not care less since it was beyond worth it. Her books always are but this one is currently top of the list, leader of the pack, the alpha of the Z Corps book universe…. I don’t know if I can handle it if she tops this book like she keeps doing. If every book is better than the last like keeps happening I don’t know if I will survive the next book……….. but what a way to go!
Kevin and Layla are truly a pair written in the stars. They couldn’t be more perfect together if they tried. They balance each other and their chemistry is off the charts! Not just the sexual chemistry but their interactive chemistry as well. He brings out the truth in the woman who lived in lies her entire life and she brings out the big emotions in a man who never expected to feel them. Their story is one I know I will come back to again and again!

Another great read by Riley. I loved all the suspense, action and the chemistry between Kevin and Layla.
Layla was a CIA officer, but for the past 10 years has been trying to nail down a corrupt group working as a DOD contractor with her team who also has given up their lives in order to find who is responsible for all the corruption.
Now one of her team is missing so she enlists ZCorps to assist and Kevin who is part of the Blue Team is tasked with finding out what Layla really wants (he is a human lie detector and knows when someone is not truthful).
Layla is well schooled on deception and lies and she is finding it very hard to keep that up when Kevin calls her out on her lies. She is also trying very hard not to open old wounds for one of Kevin's team members so she is vague on what is needed. Kevin calls her out and bit by bit she starts to reveal what she has kept secret.
There’s instant chemistry between them but neither Kevin or Layla trust easily and it takes time to sort through everything,
This book has lots of twists and turns and had me on the edge of my seat.

Oh my goodness! This book yall.. I just can't. Such a great read as always. Kevin Monroe is on the Blue team at Z corps. Kevin knows that Layla Cunnings isn't all she seems to be and has some pretty big secrets even for a trained liar. She used to work for the CIA. Their first meeting is in the president's office. Layla has managed to get a meeting with the president and Zane and takes the Blue team. Kevin is tasked by his team leader to see if the intel she had collected is enough to convince Zane that is good enough for him to send his people to retrieve Theo. What can I say? Especially chapter 13, I laughed so hard at the jokes and antics we are used to from the guys, but then add in Layla’s sass and that of Kira, her IT guru and its ON!!! I can't even. Throwing landscaping rocks, condom jokes, the “meat” references. This book was awesome. These books just keep getting better and better.

Wow, just when you think this series can’t get any better, it does. Kevin and Layla’s story is deeply intertwined with several of the other books in the series and their stories. Although you can read it as a standalone, I highly recommend the entire series. Kevin is a former Navy Seal working for Zane Lewis at Z Corp. He is like a human lie detector. He is fascinated by Layla from the moment they meet and he listens to her lie. Then he is tasked with finding out if her story has any merit and if Z Corp should get involved. The story that unfolds is one that you don’t want to miss. The secrets Layla is keeping are not all her own and trying to protect those secrets for the ones who have worked with her the past ten years gets harder and harder. The connection between Kevin and Layla is instant but Kevin is conflicted with protecting Layla and being loyal to his teammates. This is definitely a story you don’t want to miss!

One of the best things about a series, is that I get to know these secondary characters until they become the primary ones. They grow and I become more invested. That was definitely the case with Kevin. This guy had no filter and I loved him but I didn't know just how much. I enjoyed getting to see his depth.
Layla was a bit of an anomaly for me. I wasn't sure about her. As the story grew, I liked her. A certain scene at the end, got me in the feelings. That was a beautiful scene, even if it was hard to read. She wasn't losing hope and that was beautiful. Loved the introduction to Kira. Her and Zane are my favorites.

Kevin was another awesome book from Riley Edwards!! I missed the Zane crew and Riley did a wonderful job bring Kevin and Layla’s story to life. With all her books she sucks you into another world, in which you so want to belong too. She weaves stories like no one’s business, and you just cannot get enough of her stories. I really enjoyed finding out a little bit more about Garrett and how he came to the Z corps crew. There was action, self-discovery, love and friendship, and steamy scenes with a side of Zane humor you can't get enough of. Cannot wait for Coopers and Garrett’s books to come out. Plus, another Plus we won't be seeing the end of Z corps, thank God because this storyline I can read over and over again.

I think I have a new favorite Blue Team book, and this is it. This combines so much of what I enjoy in Riley Edwards’ writing – great characters, fast-paced storyline that never quite goes where you’re expecting it to, and enough heat to warm even the coldest room. Kevin has a radar for lies – and Layla keeps hitting it. Once she starts to be herself, the woman she wasn’t even sure she still could be, their relationship heats up – as fast as the danger approaches. There is a sense of peace and redemption by the end of this book, but it also features Zane at his Zane-est – and the rules, both Zane’s and Layla’s, are enough to have you in stitches. I was genuinely sad when it ended.

I loved this one! Or maybe I just love Kevin!! Lol! Who doesn’t love a good romance full of lies, deceit, and government operatives? Right? Riley can write a story like no other. Kevin and Layla have both given their entire life in the pursuit of justice. But sometimes being so caught up in that world, they forget there is a life outside of it. Call it fate or call it Karma but once again she steps in and reminds them both of what is important in life. This book is full of the usual hilarious team banter and then some, but it is also an amazing story of family, life and love(and some really hawt sex)……❤️

One thing that I love about Riley Edwards book is the fact that her characters can monologue like no other. And in these monologues is where we get so much emotion, and depth into the character and their feelings. It never fails that one or both of the main characters let loose and allow the words to flow. Many times, letting out truths that the other one sometimes isn’t quite ready to hear.
Kevin and Layla are no different. These two have intense chemistry from the get-go, but their situation makes them both extremely wary. The storyline in this book ties to many people together, and also gives us insight to a possible new team joining Z-Corp as all we some history on a team member that we don’t know much about yet.
There are all of the moments that you want and expect in a Riley Edwards book. But this book, there is a moment that brings the Red Team into the spotlight and makes me want to re-read this series. This moment truly shows the strength and backbone of Z-Corp as a whole.
Zane Lewis is perfection each and every time he is on page with his humor and attitude. While Kevin brings forth that alpha you know you are getting. Layla is extremely strong in her own right, but is struggling with the reality that she finds herself in. But of course, with the help of the Blue Team and Kevin she is pulled from the chaos and finds a new path. And the tease we get into the next book is just enough to keep us waiting impatiently.

Loved this book. I loved Kevin and Laylas's story. Lots of twists and surprises from old characters in previous books popping up, like a favorite of mine Zane. I still crack up at his one liners and loved meeting the new characters in this book. There were some laugh out loud moments where the word shart was used and i couldn’t help myself and laughed until I cried. I wondered bout Layla at first and didn’t like her in the first chapter but i knew Riley Edwards would make this story awesome. This book is standalone but to me I loved lrwady knowing all the side characters. Can’t wait to read and on the new team. The audio was just as good as i always read the book again as I listen to the audio.

I just love Z Corp all up in blue teams missions. Zane is so awesome and Riley never ceases to amaze me at how she weaves this clever, punchy character into current plotlines and boy are the H and h in for a hard run of chemistry. Layla is turning out to be a tough nut to crack.
And I swear Violet and Layla are sisters considering the plot and their sassy, gutsy character.
Everything pours out straight up at the beginning of the book and away I went. Squealing and clapping so eager to jump in.
I'm so easily sucked in when Riley writes political, espionage with pressure and mystery. The humour and dry wit is such a refreshing listen, especially when it's mixed in with angst and difficult missions.
The comical common thread that runs through blue team surfaces again in Kevin's story and I'm laughing once more with Kevin, Zane and the rest of the team and to top off the h's get involved as well. Hilarious.
This is a favourite for me, this common weave in Riley's books. The one that describes comradarie within the alphas and how their dry wit resonates perfectly. Be it Red, Blue, Gemini, TC, to name but a few.
The way in which I learned about Laylas past was enjoyably different, and I also love the h's of blue team. They don't mess around, they go in hard, just as hard as the H's.
And when the steam ramps up, hooweee they both combust.
I can't say enough about the world Riley writes in, it's just positively brilliant.
To have linc appear while Zane disappears is both fun and emotionally gut wrenching, the twist after twist just kept appearing, I was holding my breath, crying and smiling all at once.
There was a red herring in amongst the storyline and I had suspicions there was another player but I just had to keep listening excitedly. It was wonderful to have all loose ends tie up.
And Silver Team is born.
The mix with Susan Stokers world even better. It was awesome to catch up with Tex and Annie...all grown up.
To Sebastian and Janine. What is there to say but extraordinary.
Sebastian is an absolute koo for listeners like myself. He is a 1 click go to for me. I just can't get enough of his tone and execution, especially with the blue team.
The wit that Riley portrays in her novels just explodes to life with Sebastian's voice and I feel so comfortable with Janine, she is wonderful at keeping the h's sassy and totally witty.
Can't wait for hilarious Kira and sexy Cooper
And the colouring book..OMG! LOL

This is book 4 in the Blue Team series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one. The other's bigger story moves into this one, and you meet these characters in those books as well. In this one we Kevin and Layla's story. Layla is a former CIA agent who needs the help of Zane and his teams. She knows this is a long shot, and she doesn't want to give up the secrets that her team is keeping, but she will do what she has to in order not to lose a single member of her team. Kevin can sniff out a lie better than most of then men working for ZCorps. And when he is tasked with finding out if Layla is telling the truth about what she needs, he knows she is lying, but not about what. And when he finds out, can he not only have his brother's backs but also have hers?
I absolutely loved this story!! The chemistry between Layla and Kevin is off the charts. I loved the fact that they are older, so they know exactly what they need from each other-even if they never knew it before. They knew they were the puzzle pieces that fit together to make a whole. The back story for them is heartbreaking for other members, but it also enables this author to add more characters and to bring Garrett's story closer to fruition (which I CAN'T wait for!!). There was part of it that seriously made me cry, I was really expecting the worst. But it also showed how much these men (and women) can and will deal with in the name of those they consider their family. I loved every single bit of it!

An exciting and swoony military romance
Kevin and Layla’s love story was so good. From the first sentence, the excitement, danger and revelations do not let up for the rest of this book except for the loving moments between Kevin and Layla that are beautifully woven into the story. This is the fourth book in the Blue Team series and it has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous heart stopping action, painful pasts, strong friendships, evil actors, loyal henchmen, secrets, and quite a few chuckles, all set against the backdrop of the Z Corps Agency. Kevin works for Z Corps, a private agency that sometimes works for the government. He’s also a former SEAL. Layla is a former CIA agent who has been the head of a secret clandestine group for 10 years. When Layla asks Z Corps to help rescue her operative and friend, Kevin is tasked with spending time with her and determining if they’ll help her. And just like that the dangerous heart stopping sweet and swoony roller coaster ride of their HEA starts. Kevin, unlike the majority of the alpha males at Z Corps does not fight his HEA with everything he has, instead he basically embraces it right away as does Layla. I especially loved that Layla was not a damsel in distress, she was just as fierce as Kevin which made them a phenomenal team during the dangerous moments. Kevin and Layla’s love story has all the feels - fear, swooning, redemption, tears, and so much all encompassing, nurturing, protective love. With Kevin, Riley Edwards once again proves she’s fantastic at crafting a beautifully paced, exciting military romance. I am excited to hear what happens next for the members of Blue Team.

What a swerve to the left this is…..just when you think its getting interesting all sorts of history gets brought up and whilst this book is all about the Layla/Kevin story, there is a lot to be said about Zane and Garrett here too as well as a whole slew of new hotties to drool over coming in to play.
I feel like I repeat myself with most Riley Edward’s books but boy does the woman know how to write a strong FMC. Layla is the top of the tree for me now and I love how she didn’t bat an eye at everything she sacrificed for what she felt was right. I loved how despite everyone hating her she still stood up for herself and took all the chances to make sure that her team were safe.
Kevin is even more comedic that you think he will be having met him in the previous books, but there is so much more to him than you think. He is deeper, more charming, dirtier and more protective than you imagine, yet he stands by Layla and supports her in everything she does (well once the initial showdown has calmed down and ruffled feathers are smoothed…)
With such strong characters you need equally strong narrators and Janine Granada and Sebastian York deliver everything you want them to in their performances. The book is amazing to read, the audiobook is even better.
No spoilers but that ending broke my heart then put it back together again and the narrators really brought it to life.

Kevin is the fourth audiobook in Riley Edwards’ fantastic Blue Team series. Listen, I know I say this every time, but this series truly does get better and better. These audiobooks are a perfect marriage of story and performance, both of which exceed expectations in this case. In this book, Zane tasks Kevin—his team’s human lie detector—with figuring out whether Layla Cunnings is being truthful about her request for Z-Corp’s help in finding her missing teammate. Or is she leaning into her roots as a supposedly ex-CIA agent and playing games with them? Normally, this would be a walk in the park for Kevin, but he’s finding out it’s a lot more difficult to assess when you’re insanely attracted to the person in question. I found it gratifying to watch Kevin—the jokester of the group who has never missed an opportunity to turn his sometimes-questionable humor on his teammates—meet his match in Layla. This book is non-stop action, intrigue, and romance right from the jump. And there are some very important reveals in this story, not all of them involving Kevin and Layla. We also gain some important insight into Garrett, the team’s resident tech wizard. I can’t speak about any of those insights or reveals here because I don’t play when it comes to spoilers. You’ll just have to listen to the audiobook yourself to gain all those juicy tidbits. And, let’s be honest, listening to this audiobook is not exactly going to be a hardship with the likes of Sebastian York and Janine Granda narrating the story. These two celebrated and sought-after performers do a wonderful job of bringing these fascinating characters and this incredible story to life. I highly recommend this audiobook as well as all the others in the Blue Team series.

Kevin was such an exciting and surprising read. The build-up to this book has been in each Blue Team book. Zane is more present in this series--which I love, by the way. The tone of Kevin is so suspenseful, and watching the relationship between Kevin and Layla go from very antagonistic to the other end of the spectrum was a wild ride. Layla is a professional, and she fits in this world perfectly. She's a tough lady and reminds me of Liberty in that she's doing a job few women would take on and excelling at it. The emotion in this story was tough to read at times because the people put their lives on the line for everyone when they go on their missions. There are feelings (BIG FEELINGS), excitement, a lot of Zane humor, more about the mysterious Garrett, and cameo appearances from some of our favorite Red Team members.
Another thing I found particularly likable was the fact that Kevin and Layla are in their 40's; I love reading about people finding love in middle age. Riley never disappoints in doing what she does best, telling a story with strong men and women who feel deeply, are honorable, and filling her stories with some of the best romances around. Kevin was a 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I do not believe you can write a book that isn't stop what I am doing and read from beginning to end!

Even while years ran down my face, (I finally turned music off, not my time of year) I did not stop reading, nor when the pain felt horrible bc I made mistake of laughing too hard,(broken sternum), I kept going!
My goodness, you brought it all out in this novel, Zane's prophylactic jokes, his RULES, and let's not forget a captured Zane is on scary mofo!
Kevin is exactly what Layla needs, someone to lean on who truly loves her, and Layla, well Kevin needs a woman crazy enough to did him out of a impromptu grave with her hands without stopping! Basically a woman who will not take his shi*, and be his biggest supporter!
While this novel of Z Corps centers around Kevin and Layla's story, it was so filled with much, much more!
For the record, the coloring book was priceless!

Oh how this book pulls you in with a heroine who is alpha. Layla was smart, tough and could hold her own against any man. She worked with the best and could lead a team to victory. Kevin knew Layla was a liar. There were trust issues with someone like her because, well...he was one of them. He knew how to tell if someone was lying miles away and he knew there were a lot of things Layla was not telling them. When he met her, the circumstances was out of the ordinary and within minutes danger was banging at the door. Kevin knew he would protect her against all odds but the future events for them could and would be deadly.
These people coming after Layla also wanted Zane. They were doing everything possible to pull him into this web, but are they ready? Zane was amazing in this story and trust me his mental strength could not be shattered. Can Zane keep those he loves, his family, safe? Will he be able to survive what coming for him?
This story was absolutely amazing! This is a must read!

Did I put a reminder on my calendar for this book's release date? YES. Was it worth it? YESSS.
Riley Edwards is a 10/10 author for me and Kevin's story was no exception. Honestly I wish that the main characters were a bit younger, but I think all of the things that they had to go through as young adults led them to where they are now, in a good way.
Layla and Kevin are a perfect match for each other in so many ways, and being able to get inside of both of their heads at different points in the story was so satisfying. There were times that I didn't like Kevin, but understood his perspective. I didn't like Layla as much overall, but I identified with her on a lot of levels.
In addition to the romance storyline, Riley Edwards always includes an exciting para-military aspect that involves the other members of the team, which is my favorite thing about her books! It shows the relationship between the men as brothers and shows how well the women bring another into their ranks. I'll be adding the next Riley Edwards book to my calendar and anxiously awaiting its arrival.
