Time is too short
This is another story where a macho guy leaves his wife because something bad happened to her. They were separated three years and she is in trouble so he comes back. There is so much going on from a whacked out politician to double agents and a kidnapping and a near death experience. It was good. For safety girls, this one was unclear to me. Times I thought they stayed faithful, after all they were still married, but at other times I just am not sure. They each wondered but it just wasn't spelled out. I am choosing to think They were but I don't know. As for the intimate scenes, they were not romantic to me but that is my preference. The author was really good and I will read her again.

Just finished reading this and my heart is still pounding. Exciting, suspenseful and full of twists and turns. Villains galore and secrets and intrigue all combine in an action packed read that often had me holding my breathe or silently screaming. This poor couple had more than their share of heartache, I'm glad despite all they go through that they find each other again. Wow!

This is book 4 in the Bravo series and while it could be read as a standalone, I would read the other books just so you understand the relationships between the other characters and things they talk about that happened in the previous books. Gabriel Dawson had everything 3 years ago. He was in charge of his SEAL team and he and his wife Ellena were planning for their future. But when he almost loses everything to an enemy he never even saw coming, he decides that the only way to keep Elle safe is to walk away. Elle thinks he stopped loving her, and that is why he walked away. Ellena is a military psychologist who spends her days trying to help service members deal with the things they see in the scope of their jobs. And she spends her nights dreaming about her husband and everything she lost when he walked away. For 3 years she prayed he would come back to her, but when he comes back into her life-it's not for the reasons she had hoped for. When a threat comes to Elle, Gabe is determined he will keep her safe this time. And that means staying with her, and feeling the familiar sparks that have never gone away. But when the worst happens and Elle is taken, can he, his team, and their friends find her and bring her home safely? Or will they lose their second chance for good?
I absolutely loved this story!!! Gabe and Elle went through this horrific experience with someone that should have been able to be trusted. And it broke them in ways that broke my heart for them. When they are thrown back together, I absolutely loved that now Gabe is forced to face how everything that happened made him feel, and to understand exactly what he did to his relationship with his wife along the way. Reading about them truly coming together? Loved it! Bring your tissues for this one! And then you throw in the twist that I was hoping for from the start, and I am sooo excited that it turned out that way!! I don't want to say a lot about that because I feel like that will ruin part of the story but OMG!! I LOVED that part!!! Although I have to say, these men have a lot more restraint than I would ever have-especially with someone they are supposed to be able to trust! I seriously can't wait for the next one, especially after that epilogue!!

Anna Blakely has written a wonderfully enthralling, page turner with Book 4 of the excellent RISC Bravo Team Series and I think I've found a brand-new book boyfriend in Gabriel Dawson! Although it could be read alone I strongly recommend you read the other books in the series first to get the maximum enjoyment from this story. As I've come to expect from the author and her brilliant imagination the plot twists and turns at a fast pace bringing some unexpected surprises and answering a few questions too. There is plenty of action, suspense, heat and of course great characters including Ghost and his team from Susan Stokers world. Gabe has stood by and watched his younger teammates find their HEAs whilst secretly nursing his heartache over Ellena, the love of his life he left to keep her safe. For three years Elle has never stopped loving Gabe, never stopped dreaming of him and never stopped hoping he'd return. Strong, alpha and protective to his core Gabe rushes back to Elle's side when her life is threatened determined to protect her. Gabe and Elle are such a wonderful couple, two halves of the same heart, these two lost souls are meant to be together but can they grasp their second chance at happiness, can smart, strong Elle convince her hero that it’s not his protection she needs it's him! I loved Gabe and Elle and I loved their story, it was everything I could have wanted and more and I highly recommend it.

Rescuing Ellena is by Anna Blakely. This is book four in the series. Anna Blakely keeps the suspense up in this book as she takes us on a brief ride into a dark world of politics. She keeps us on the edge of our seats.
Gabe left Ellena three years ago after she lost their baby girl. He felt it was his fault because Vic Campbell, the man who held her captive, was there only because of him. Gabe had not turned a blind eye when the man had deliberately killed an innocent civilian who had peacefully given up. It resulted in Vic’s being convicted and dishonorably discharged. He felt it was Gabe’s fault. Ellena took matters into her own hands and tried to disarm him and fell. The fall and stress resulted in an early miscarriage which Gabe felt was his fault. He left her. Now three years later, he receives information that she is being targeted by another ruthless man.
Gabe gets his special forces team activated to help him because the man who told him about this threat was Adrian Walker who was named a traitor. However, this time, he was right. Rescuing Ellena is book four in Anna Blakely’s Special Forces:Operation Alpha Bravo series. It’s another great book focusing on the R.I.S.C. Bravo team.
Former Navy SEAL Gabe Dawson hasn’t been honest with the rest of his team. He told them he was divorced, but that’s not true. He and his wife Ellena are still very much married. Years ago, Gabe and Ellena’s world was shattered, and Gabe believed he needed to leave in order to keep Ellena safe. They still love each other, but Gabe left when Ellena needed him most. Now, though, Ellena is in mortal danger, and Gabe is determined to save her and their marriage.
This book has an amazing combination of emotion, action, and romance. Blakely is excellent at writing dialogue that sounds real. She’s great at writing tense, emotional scenes, and her action scenes are breathtaking. In this one, Gabe and Ellena have to work through some very emotional history, and those scenes are fantastic. As always, the loyalty and friendship shared by the guys on Bravo team is powerful.

I have been waiting for Gabe's story ever since the end of Rescuing Gabriella and Rescuing Ellena was definitely worth the wait! If you haven't read the Bravo team stories you can read this however you will not get the most out of the story due to the interconnecting characters. Gabe Dawson has been leading the Bravo team for a few years and in that time none of his team knew that he was married. Dr. Ellena Dawson has been working and living in San Diego ever since her husband walked out on their marriage. As heart broken as she is she knows it is time to move forward. Who knew that the catalyst to bring them together would be one of Bravo team's worst enemies? This story has so many twists, turns and surprises that for me to say much more would be giving away everything. I will tell you that Gabe and Elle's story is loaded with love and forgiveness, hope and humor, lies and laughter and plenty of heat! It is told from dual POV and will not only keep you glued to the last page but have you demanding more of this series!

This is an edge of your seat type of book!!
There were so many great parts in this book. Some parts were sweet and touching while others were "grab onto your seat because here we go". Ellena and Gabe were happily in love but yet something terrible tore them apart. While they were no longer together, they were still in love with the other.
I had to admire Ellena strength throughout the whole book. Given her past with Gabe and what was going on, she was simply amazing. I also loved that there were times she was the level headed one even though her husband was more use to this sort of thing.
My heart broke for Gabe. He wasn't a bad man, in fact, everything he did was out of love. Most of the time it was misguided or should have been talked about, but he did it to keep people safe.
I already really like the secondary characters. I won't give it away but it was very much a surprise.

Well, from page one and Vic, you are on a roller coaster of a ride. Secrets even his team does not know, that's Gabe, their team lead. Ellena, his wife, not-X, but his wife, quite the secret, eh? Take an interfering friend and a traitor and you've got a good combination for resolution, they just have to keep alive to figure it out. Throw in Ghost and his team of Delta's and you've got a spectacular story. I could not put it down. I agree, this is the author's best so far, it felt like a conclusion as a lot of things were tied off, but it also left others wide open for speculation.
Memorable moments or lines - "I didn't lose everything until you walked away." "Being stubborn is like having a p#@*s. It can be good or bad, depending on how you use it." Also, Kumbaya and "a teeny, tiny, baby kitten-sized step." Totally a one-click author for me. Highly recommend.

Rescuing Ellana is probably the most intense book of this series thus far, and I loved every minute of it! There were so many heart wrenching and beautiful moments between the two main characters Ellena and Gabe. The romance between these two was a little different from the other books in the series because they are actually already a couple/married. However, since a tragedy in their past has torn the two apart for a time, this gives them an opportunity to find each other again. Now with Ellana's life on the line... again, Gabe will do everything in his power to keep the woman he has never stopped loving from getting harmed. Not only was the intensity of what was happening between Ellena and Gabe at the forefront, but readers will also get a huge shocker with another character that had my jaw dropping. From the ending, I truly hope this means a book for this character is on the horizon. All in all, a fantastic read and I can't wait for more of the Bravo team.

Another awesome book in the R.I.S.C. series. If you haven't read the others you can read this, but this series is so good I don't know why you wouldn't want to read the rest.
When you're an alpha protector and your wife is threatened what do you do when the threat has been eliminated? Well if you're Gabe Dawson you separate from her and leave her alone for 3 years. Idiot move I know, but he comes around.
Ellena had finally come to terms that Gabe wasn't coming back. She sent him divorce papers. When she wakes up in a hospital and he's there she doesn't know what to think. But she does know someone is trying to kill her and Gabe's the man who can protect her.
I love watching the two of them dance around each other. I especially love the glimpses of past main characters and how their lives are going.

An absolutely awesome read. Can't wait for more.
Wow. I have been waiting Ages for Gabe’s book. After reading the little nugget in the last book that shocked, boy I was not expecting the twist and turns to be what they were. Ellena has had a couple of accidents but her best friend doesn’t think they are, so a call goes into someone she knew 5 years ago. Things start to hot up quickly as we see her life in danger and Gabe doing his best to keep her safe. This book kept my attention all the way through to the end. Twist after twist after turn made sure that I was engrossed right from the beginning. Someone who I have read about from the other books isn’t the person I thought he was but.............I cannot wait for the next book in this series and I so want one person to redeem himself. It’s best to read this awesome series in order (although you should be able to pick up some of the dynamics without it) to get a feel of the team and what they do etc plus some of the extra characters who may show up from time to time. .

Rescuing Ellena is book 4 in the Bravo Series by Anna Blakely. This is Gabe's story and reunites him with his wife, Ellena, whom he has separated from due to an awful tragedy that befell them. Gabe has been informed that Ellena has her life under threat. When Gabe arrives to protect Ellena, he finds out there have already been attempts made against Ellena. Amid the threats, Gabe must face what tore them apart and his reasoning to keep him and Ellana apart. I found both characters to be well defined and written by the author. They were relatable to me and I felt I could understand their feelings and thoughts. As the story progressed I hoped that they would find their second chance together if they lived through the suspense and threats. I highly recommend this book along with the others in this series. I was given an ARC by the author in return for my honest review.

Rescusing Ellena
I absolutely loved this story and I was hoping things would go this way. If you have been Reading Blakely's Bravo series than I suggest you pick up Rescuing Ellena. Gabe has been hiding a big secret which revealed in Rescuing Katherine, yes he has a wife named Ellena. If you read Rescuing Gabriella you know how that ended which brings us to the start of book four. Unfortunately that is all I will say except I love Ellena's character she is smart, sassy and stands up to commandos fiercely. Loved her and Gabe's banter, she gave as good or better at compromising with the team leader aka her husband. She also brings out the nice in Adrian Walker, that's right we get to learn more about Walker in this story. Overall it's one of my favorite stories in this series. Happy Reading!!

This series is kind of a spin of series that runs along side R.I.S.C alpha series from around Book three Jake talks about setting up another team because contracts are coming in loads and he does not want to burn his team out plus some are in relationships and don't want to travel to far all the time.so bravo team set in the same location same office is born.in the other series Jake is spitting mad at there homeland handler for something that he did to bravo team we don't know what?
This book gives some light to that when gabe gets his story and fight for love, plus walker is in this one and questions gets answered not all they skip the he killed kats dad? You would think that would get talked about? Was he on a list?

I borrowed Rescuing Ellena ~ R.I.S.C. Bravo Team ~ Book 4, by Anna Blakely from the Kindle Unlimited Program.
Bravo team leader, Gabriel Dawson has been married for five years to his wife Ellena; he left her to keep her safe from the evil he deals with in his work as a special forces guy first for the military and then for R.I.S.C. but it found her anyway.
The title Rescuing Ellena tells the whole plot in just two words, but the fun is reading all the excitement and romance to get to the happy ending. Adrien Walker’s waiting when Gabriel Dawson gets home. Gabe’s psychologist wife, Ellena’s in danger. Despite 3 years of separation, Gabe is packing within minutes of Adrien’s delivery. As he walks out the door, Gabe gets a call from a hospital advising Ellena was hurt in an accident. Rushing to Ellena, Gabe can’t stop reliving the reason he’d left, the love he still feels and studiously ignoring the divorce papers he’d gotten last month. Before Ellena’s recovered, Walker returns and his story gets told, now to bring the team, that doesn’t trust Walker, onboard.

Gabe & Ellena
Sigh...., have you ever read a book that was so full of emotions, plot twists and turns, and felt completely wrung out but in a good way? That was me with this book, I actually had to take a day off from reading just so I can figure out what I wanted to say in this review.
Gabe and Ellena had everything together, and one tragic day they lost it all, that was three years ago. Now they are separated and on the verge of finalizing their divorce, when Ellena’s life is in danger. Gabe doesn’t trust anyone else to keep her safe, and Ellena wouldn’t feel safe with anyone else anyways.
The pain that they endured together is shadowed by the fact that someone wants to kill her, and while they are keeping her safe, Gabe finally comes to the conclusion that being with her is more important than anything.
I sooooooo loved this book, I do suggest that the books be read in order, so you don’t miss a thing!!

Best laid plans
The plot thickens with Walker and we find out what Gabes story is regarding his wife! The backstory for both men is amazing and the action and romance between Gave and Doc is fast and non stop. Communication is key and the dialogue is witty. The teams spend more time together in this book and secrets are exposed. It was great seeing the intrigue behind the case and seeing a cute HEA. Walkers story is not quite settled and I can’t wait to see what all her and Jenna find themselves in.

Great!
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed all the characters. This was a book all determination, compassion, control, And getting your first love back. I really enjoyed Gabe and Elena story. I think they made a really good couple. This book was well written and I think the author did an amazing job in writing this book and putting these two characters together. Their was a lot going on in their lives but they made it work. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Rescuing Ellena is an awesome book. Anna Blakely’s stories are addictive. I could not put it down! The Bravo team books just keep getting better and better. There are some great plot surprises in this book. I love a good second chance romance! You are going to fall in love with Gabe and Ellena! Their story is steamy and sweet. The rest of the team have their moments too. I love Bravo and Delta team interacting. I can’t wait for the next book!

I’ve been waiting for Gabe’s book ! And I was not disappointed!!!! This is my favorite of the Bravo team series. A lot of suspense and a lot of ‘I can’t put it down ‘ moments. Gave and Ellena are my favorite couple in this series because of their unending love for each other. This could be read as a stand-alone, it’s that good a story, but the backstory from the other books just adds to this one.

I loved diving back into the world created by Susan Stoker. I thought this was a really good story and I really liked how Ellena and Gabriel were able to reconnect. My only issue with this book was I feel like the speed in which they reconnected was a bit unrealistic and that maybe the process could have been drawn out a bit differently. I really liked how we got glimpses into characters from Susan Stoker's books aswell!

I loved Gabe's story. The pain and guilt of what happened to his wife and their unborn child rolled off him in waves, and I felt every bit of it. His not opening up or not wanting to talk about it and walking away from Ellena for three was as frustrating and infuriating to me as it was to her, but I was fist pumping the air when she finally forced him to lay it all out! Also, the action/suspense definitely kept me on the edge of my seat too!

Rescuing Ellena is yet another engrossing book from Anna Blakely. It's filled with suspense, intrigue and action not to mention some deep dives into emotional issues. There are several twists that will surptise but definitely furthers the storyline. Gabe finally gets his story and we meet his estranged wife Ellena. It takes her life being in danger for him finally getting his head out. But, will she give him the second chance he desperately wants or is it too late?

Another brilliant addition to the series
Brilliant story. The only thing that would make this stories better, Is If we could catch up with the characters from the previous books.
I would love to know more about Gabby's sister, Sam. How it went when Gabby took her home to her parents and how she is doing , and how she is coping.
Love Ellena's story. There is only one book left in in the series and I am said to see it end.

Absolutely loved this book. Has all the feels and plenty of surprises twists and turns. A second chance if they can get past their emotional scars and survive what's to come.. A great addition to the series.

I’ve been waiting for this book very impatiently since the end of the last book. It was so worth the wait and so much more than I could have imagined. There were so many twists and turns.
Gabe has always been so aloof in all the previous books but this book shows you why. Ellena is so strong.
This is right at the top of best books I’ve read all year.
