My hot Drexian best friend was tempting--but off-limits. Then we got stuck together on an Inferno Force battleship. Now resisting him is torture. When the Inferno Force battleship I’m working on jumps away to save a colony under attack, I have no choice but to become part of the crew.
But the Inferno Force ship is nothing like the high-tech space station I’m used to—and the warrior crew isn’t used to females on board. For a curvy brainiac who’s not used to being noticed, I’m now being noticed—a lot.
At least my best work friend—also an Inferno Force warrior—is onboard, but it doesn’t help that I’ve started to look at Vekron as, well, not a friend. The last thing I want is to lose my only friend if things didn’t work out.
When we learn that the attack on the colony didn’t come from the Drexian’s usual enemy, but instead from a new alien scourge sweeping across the galaxy, my traitorous thoughts are pushed aside as the entire ship works to rebuild the colony and defend it from the deadly threat.
But life among the gorgeous warriors is anything but simple, and my feelings for Vekron make it torturous. I might survive the terrifying alien swarm, but can I survive being forced to live side by side with the one guy I can’t risk falling for?
This standalone sci-fi romance novel features steamy scenes on an Inferno Force battleship, a smoking-hot Inferno Force crew, and a guaranteed HEA. If you like feisty heroines, aliens with extra erogenous zones, and lots of adventure, you’ll love BURN, the third book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors series.
I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.
I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!
So Vekron and Nina were sexy and sweet together, But I found myself more intrigued with their new allies in this one, the Immortal Taori. More specifically Xaaven.. And also the mysteries surrounding them, the Drexian having never heard of them really, and their unique similarities to the new enemy, the synthians; they are fighting now.
This one was intense with non stop action and battles which was great for me.
Can someone please tell me what these Drexian dudes actually look like? The non description of these males is really bothering me.
Okay I promise I am going to read book 1, now that I've read 2 and 3.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Duet Narration
The Hero:Vekron - he is a Drexian warrior, and he is also the chief science officer, the tech wizard of the crew. He can fix almost anything, come up with new and innovative technological advancements and much more. He has worked closely with the human Nina and has taught her how to work with a lot of the Drexian technology. He has feelings for Nina who has put him in the friend zone and can’t even imagine him as a potential mate.
The heroine:Nina - she is a holographic designer and she works closely with Zoey on The Island, the high tech holographic space station created to house Drexian warriors and human tribute brides as they get matched, meet and decide if they want to be mates. Nina is a curvy girl and thinks the none of the handsome, muscular Drexian warriors would ever even look at her as mate material, but she wants to be loved, just is unwilling to admit it because she thinks it will never happen for her.
The Story: Vekron takes Nina on a tour of one of the Inferno Force battleship’s so they can talk through some holographic improvements to the ship. The two of them worked on many of the holographic features of The Island, so could definitely make some improvements to the ship while it near the station. They talk about turning the sparring space into a holo-deck. While they are on board, the ship powers up and leaves after a distress call is made to save a colony that is being attacked. They have to make a jump immediately and don’t have time to leave Nina and Vekron at the station.
This book was quite different than the first few, in that their main enemy was not the Kronock’s, but are a new race of alien called Scythians, they are a scourge of pretty awful and deadly oversized alien bugs, which feed their young on alien species. They can swarm and easily overtake an contingent of Drexian warriors as they massacre worlds. They also meet the immortal army of the Taori who have been fighting the scourge across the universe and whom are the Drexian’s only hope for fighting them.
I liked the story in this one, the two main characters had a lot to deal with besides just whether or not they wanted each other. Vekron felt he needed to stay on as an Inferno Force Warrior because that was where he could get the glory his family wanted for him. Though he really loved technology and innovation as well. Plus he didn’t want to force Nina to do anything she didn’t want to do since her original plans were to go back to Earth after her stint on the space station. The two were pretty cute together and I liked both of the characters.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in duet narration by Aubrey Vincent and Adam Prugh. Adam Prugh has a nice deep voice, with a bit of a rough edge that I liked quite a bit. Aubrey Vincent has a nice voice and sounds natural and expressive as she narrates. In this book, unlike the last, she did a british accent, which I didn’t like as much. She sounds a bit too harsh. Also I absolutely hated some of the voices she did, like the ones she used for Raina and Serge.
OMG I loved VeKcrom and Nina's book. Só much tension so much heat. Its so cool that he is a sexy nerd with a super hot bod and also an inferno force! They are super tied friends and do e everything together but they are afraid that is they try for more they would ruim what they have. The action on planet was very good,I enjoyed reading about Maddy amd the captain. Also, the Taori? Oh yes, I need to know more about them, so misterious, sexy, strong! So Alone in space too... I want it! I love Tana Stone!
I was looking forward to Vekron's story. I really liked him from previous books. However, he kind of disappointed me in this story. He burned hot and cold with Nina. Getting drunk and making her wait up for him.. Not cool.. Accepting a position that takes him away from her without discussing their future. Grrrr.
I LOVED Maddie's advice: “You need to take back your power, Nina. Don’t be the one waiting for him or missing him or begging for attention. Make him miss you enough to pull his head out of his ass and realize what he’ll be giving up if he takes the position as first officer." Good for Maddie's independence and Nina for agreeing with her.
Too bad Vekron still wasn't willing to fight for her until her life was in danger. This theme sometimes gets old.. The heroine has to almost die in order for the hero to wise up... meh. Maybe I'm just moody but Vekron irritated me and I didn't like how Nina easily forgave him. He'd had sex with her over and over -- knowing he was going to ditch her. I wanted him to suffer. Then Nina irritated me because she started doubting what she said to him. She had every right to be irritated and stick up for herself.
I am not really looking forward to the next book about Dryx. I don't like man whores- especially ones that screw married/mated women and women who are prostitutes/possible sex slaves. I want him to fall in love and be devoted to someone and to catch her cheating. He deserves it. Dishonorable dueche bag. Hopefully the author will spin it so he is likable. Because it's Tana Stone, I'll give it a try.

Now it's time for the Inferno Warriors who aren't looking for a bride to spar off against earth women. Warrior alpha aliens whose lives are spent keeping the peace but for some it is in the front lines fighting an enemy who destroys worlds. Earth doesn’t know aliens exist except for the government. A deal was made, and women are given in exchange for protection. This fun tale sees women and warriors come together to build a new space station that is supposed to be a fantasy place. There is much laughter and action to keep you occupied whilst enjoying this read. Journey along as they learn to navigate a union together with lots of action in fighting the bad guys. I look forward to reading the rest of this sci fi romance series.
Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors is a spin-off from the Tribute Bride series, and picks up where that series left off, Drexians are large muscled humanoid aliens with bronze skin who’ve spent their lives battling the enemy aliens called the Kronock. There had been a secret treaty with Earth for the past 30 years where the Drexians have been granted permission to abduct human females in exchange for protection against the Kronock. However, things have changed in this spinoff, and now Earth is very much aware of aliens and offer volunteer brides instead of abductions. This series begins with the Drexians building a secondary space station similar to “The Loveboat” called “Fantasy Island” where they are mated (married) to their Drexian warriors. The war with the Kronock is still ongoing.
Written in first person perspective, Burn is book 3 in this series and follows Drexian Vekron (aka Vek) and his human mate Nina. Not only is Vek a valued warrior of the Inferno Force, but he is also an intelligent “tech” guy who loves gadgets and advancing technology. He and Nina were contracted to work together on the Island as Nina is an Astro technician like her best friend Zoey who’s mated to the island’s acting captain Kalex. Because they’ve already spent so much time getting to know each other before we became privileged to their relationship, they have already developed a friendship and secret feelings for each other. Had another male not shown Nina attention, Vek may have never made a move, which is worth an eye roll by itself.
For the most part, this story bored the ever living shit out of me. With the exception of FINALLY meeting the Sky Clan of the Taori. I was first introduced to Tara Stone by reading that series, then back tracked to the Drexian Tribute Brides. I was so excited to read the Taori’s first contact with the Drexians. Seriously, that was the best part of this book. The coupling between Nina and Vek was terrible and I found myself wishing Nina cured the Taori’s mating fever instead.
Like all the other books, this couple have their ups and downs, back and forths. She fights the claiming, then he fights the claiming. She fights her feelings and he is a typical male idiot that makes poor decisions. One forgives the other way too easily, then things work out in their favor and they live happily ever after.
I might need therapy, but that’s what books are for, right? Lol. Why can’t abductions by sexy aliens with huge cocks be real?
I recommend this series so far. Tara Stone is a creative author and I prefer the first person perspective. The series is much better if you read the Tribute Bride series first so you know the history and what’s going on. I look forward to the next book in the series.
🔥 “You’ve always been mine, you know that, don’t you, Nina?” ~~~ I just can’t get enough of the magnificent Inferno Force warriors!
Vekron is one of the top Drexian science officers. Not only is he one of the smartest and most inventive Drexians, but he’s also a true Inferno warrior - strong, badass, honorable, possessive, dirty-talking and fiercely protective. And I especially loved the moments when he was showing his inner caveman - so, so hot! Vek was so awesome and I absolutely adored him!
Nina is the graphic designer on the Island. She’s smart, kind, colorful and creative. But she also has quite the temper. This Latina is one fiery woman and I loved her so much!
The development of their relationship was absolutely perfect. Oh, the tension between them! And both of them - torn between friendship, feelings and duty. But they were such a magnificent match and their chemistry was amazing. Their amazing friendship definitely needed to become more! And when they finally gave in to their feelings, the steam level was off the charts. I guess, the quiet ones are always the naughtiest…
In addition, as if the Drexians aren’t irresistible enough. Now we get introduced to the mysterious, badass and sexy Taori... Oh, who am I kidding... gimme more!
Overall, the story is another absolutely magnificent addition to the series that grabs you from the very first page and you just can’t get enough! It has everything a reader could want - fast-paced action, friends-to-lovers storyline, danger, suspense, twists, new dangerous enemies, powerful alliances, scorching hot romance and wonderful characters.
I absolutely loved it and really, really need the next one.. like nowish! ~ I received an advance copy of this book and I’m more than happy to leave a review.
This series has struggled a bit with a few of the FMCs. But not this one. Nina and Vekron have been secondary characters in several of the Drexian books, so it was about time they get their own love story. Both Nina and Vek were onboard one of the Inferno Force battleships in order to install some holographic upgrades to their fight cage. A way for the Drexian warriors to simulate fighting against different alien species. When a distress call comes through, there’s no time for them to board a shuttle and return to the space station. They’re now along for the ride. They have jumped across the galaxy to a Drexian outpost that has been attacked by a swarm of things the likes of which they have never seen. Our hero and heroine must figure how to fight this new threat while navigating a relationship that just turned from friends to lovers.
I have always loved this couple. It did always seem to me that Nina had a thing for Vek, I just didn’t know if it was reciprocated. . . Well, it was. While there is a little bit of silliness when their communication kinda sucked for a bit, but at least it wasn’t long lived. Because they have been in several books, their characters were pretty well fleshed out. Of course, it was nice to get a bit more information about them both. And given that This is about 12 books in, between both Drexian series, world building is very well fleshed out. The plot is interesting and introduced two new alien species; one an ally and one a scourge to any planet upon which they descend. The book was well paced, and I enjoyed reading it.
Nina and Vrek became best friends, working closely together and both denying their mutual attraction to each other. After an emergency pops up during their job on an Inferno Force Battleship, they have no choice but to remain onboard. As one of two females on board, she starts getting noticed a lot more. Nina and Vreks attraction soon prove too difficult to ignore, requiring them to each navigate their feelings for each other.
I have been hanging out for Nina and Vek since they were introduced in the first book. I was so charmed by the friends to lover’s scenario between the two. It is not as common to see a love developed from a friendship and it was so beautiful to see their moments of synchronicity and hints of mutual attraction throughout the first two books.
Nina’s fiery Latina side made occasional appearances and sometimes negated her shyness, which had me super pumped for what she could bring to the table. I felt her calm and understanding personality in between her low tolerance for BS moments balanced the turmoil of Vek’s mind. His obligational duty to his family caused him to put Nina second, even though he didn’t want to. His was a struggle you could sympathise with but his stubborn attitude about the situation was a tad frustrating at times.
I rated this book 4 stars. I am so so so hoping that the Taori people get a series. Like super hard. I would also honestly love to read a book or two involving the Neebix sexcapades. I feel like that could be a fun development. Anywho. Read, breathe, repeat. Onto book 4!
Tana Stone’s book three of the Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors series entitle BURN: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance is a fantastic story of the encounter with two new alien species (one seemingly friendly and one extrememly dangerous). Destined to help rid the universe of the Kronock, now the Drexians must protect planets from something much worse called the Sythians. However, another species called the Taori has dedicated their lives to safeguarding living beings from these devouring Sythian swarms, and without them, more Drexians would have died. But the Taori “might” be a little dangerous as well; they are certainly mysterious and mystical; we just don’t know yet. All of these interesting facts are deftly woven into this love story of Nina (the Island’s holographic designer) and Vekron (the Inferno Force science/tech guru). While working on the new space station called the Island, the two are summoned to Brok’s spaceship to install some emitters. Brok receives word that a planet is in danger from invaders, and before Nina and Vekron can leave, they “jump” to assist. Amid the danger of helping others, Nina and Vekron’s friendship finally develops into a passionate love. It’s a sweet, fiery story, fraught with danger, interwoven with new potential future plot twists, and culminating with an HEA. Readers will be swept away by Nina and Vekron’s tale as they explore life together as more than just friends.
Human Nina has been working with Drexian Vekron for some time on the space station specifically on the holographic and although she can clearly see how hot he is, has always tried to just stay as friends (in fact she considers him as her best friend). On a visit to an Inferno Force Battleship to investigate improving the onboard holographic, they suddenly find themselves on a ship that has jumped away to save a colony under attack. Vek is ok as he can just go back to his Inferno Force previous life but it is not so easy for Nina as the crew is not used to women being on the ship and as a curvy brainiac she is not used to all the looks and attention. When they learn that the attack on the colony is not the usual enemy but a new alien scourge sweeping across the galaxy Nina has to push any thoughts she might have about Vek as something more to the side as the crew works to defend and then rebuild the colony. Can Nina cope with living side by side with the one guy she badly wants but can't risk falling for?
I loved this story which was full of danger, drama, new aliens, crossed signals, misplaced priorities and hopefully the HEA that Nina and Vek definitely deserved together. The new aliens were interesting and the techniques used were great to read about. I loved the way that Nina and Vek were unable to resist each other but also had strong principles that were slightly misplaced. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
Another exceptionally good book in this series with fantastic world building and characters.
Nina is curvy, wears glasses, is shy, intelligent and creative. She is a holographic designer from Earth who has been working on the Island.
Vekron is an Inferno Force scientific engineer lent to the Island to work on the holographic design. They are asked to work on Captain Brok's ship to turn one of the Drexian sparring rings into a holographic deck.
After they get on board the ship has to respond to a distress call on the Gerron colony. Vekron is part of the team to go to the planet's surface where they discover a new enemy, the Sythians, and they are attacked by the swarm. They also find new allies, the Immortal Army of the Taori who have been chasing across galaxies to stop the swarm from devouring planets. Several of their new allies go back to the ship for medical attention, it seems like their mating heat cycles are being affected by something. One of the men makes a hard pass at Nina and Vekron sees red. He carries her off to his cabin and they hook up. The scientists work on a cure for the heat issue and try to come up with a way to defeat the Sythians. Nina and Maddie go down to the planet to treat the Gerrons who need medical attention and are attacked by the swarm. Vekron helps rescue them and realizes he needs Nina in his life permanently and they get their HEA.
More please, I need more. More Drexian warriors, more Immortal Army of the Taori warriors, I just need more. And now works for me *winks*. Please and thank you.
I feel like I speak for everyone that reads the Inferno Force series when I say Vekron and Nina are finally here. Because Nina and Vekron have so much sexual tension between them that you could just feel it in the first two books. These two are besties crushing on each other…until that control snaps….you’re welcome. And thank you to the Taori for helping that along. Oh, we’ll get to them, because I so need more of that group of warriors like nowish. As always in this series, sh*t got real, and it got real fast. There were some new species introduced, and they had me needing more, like nowish.
Safe read, with a dirty talking brainy caveman warrior and his sweet curvy brainy bestie. These two are the sexy smart couple, but don’t let that fool you, these two brought the heat, because that kind of tension just explodes when they both finally get what they want. Edge of your seat storyline that will have you desperately wanting more..you’re welcome. An epilogue that will leave you even more desperate to get more, and an hea. I am so addicted to this series, book crack series all the way. #AllThingsTanaStone
We meet Drexian Inferno Force warrior, scientist, and hologram expert Vekron and Puerto Rican, Terra hologram specialist Nina in book one (Ignite) and book two (Scorch) of the sci-fi alien series.
Vekron and Nina have worked closely together since joining the crew of “the Island.”
The island is an intergalactic space station, military facility, and home base for Drexian warriors (the protectors of the universe and beyond), Earthling experts, future Drexian human brides, and ally aliens refugees.
Vekron and Nina expertise is requested on board of Captain Brok’s Inferno Force ship and Vekron’s former command.
Unbeknownst to Vekron and Nina their three day work trip turns into a week long rescue mission.
Why?
Because the Drexians receive a distress signal from an ally planet stating that they are being attacked by blood sucking creatures called Sythians and not Drexians known enemies, the Kronock.
Being in close quarters compel these two hologram experts to face their attraction to one another.
But the danger of their mission, loyalty to duty, and outside forces may end their romance before it even begins.
Will Vekron and Nina realize what is really important and fight for what they really desire before it’s too late?
I enjoyed Vekron and Nina’s human-alien, friends to lovers, slow burn, fated mates romance. Nina is a human and a holographic designer who is helping to design a new space station under construction. Vekron is a Drexian Inferno Force warrior and a holographic engineer. Vekron and Nina have worked closely together for months. They are both attracted to each other but have been hiding the attraction and being just friends and coworkers. While on a brief visit to a Drexion Inferno Force ship to see about adding holographic controls in a sparring ring, they end up jumping with the ship to answer a distress call from a protected planet. Close quarters and potential danger bring their feelings to the forefront and accelerate the rocky path to their HEA. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as told through sweet moments, steamy scenes, fighting, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, loyal friends, fated mates, coincidences, plot twists, painful pasts, and laughs. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. 3.5 stars
All I can say about this story was it’s brilliant!! I loved the way the story unfolded with Vekron and Nina travelling to the Inferno Force battleship and then they traveled to the planet that was being attacked by the Sythians. Then they meet a new ally the Taori who have been hunting and destroying the Sythians for centuries since they are from the same galaxy. It’s while all this is going on that Vekron and Nina explore their feelings towards each other. There are external issues going on, but eventually they work things out and plan their happily ever after. As usual the last chapter of the book introduced the next story and this one looks like a real doozy, I can’t wait to read about Dryx and Layne next, looks like he will have his hands full there.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
Tana Stone is my all time favorite author and she did not disappoint with this book. I Loved this story of Vekron and Nina, how they have secretly had feelings and a crush for one another working in close proximity but chose to stay just friends. That is until a space jump, a new alien threat and excitement and drama brings them to act on their feelings for one another. And Wow just Wow, it's a fantastic storyline, fantastic characters and just fantastic everything. Than add in the Taori Warriors with the Drexian Warriors and I can't get enough. It's a great read with sexy aliens, romance and everything you could want except TANA I need you to write faster. You must write faster I can't get enough of your characters or your stories. This story will grab you, keep you on the edge of your seat anxiously waiting for the next story.
I received a ARC copy and this is my voluntary review.
Loved it. another fantastically written story with a great plot and beautifully crafted richly detailed characters you fall in love with book after book. In this story Nina and Vekron are friends but each want more without telling the other one for fear of ruining the friendship. Add in that Vekron feels like his future is pre-determined due to his older brother's death when they are accidentally jumped while on board Vekron's old ship to an emergency things heat up and boil over. Loaded with excitement, suspense, drama, emotional ups and downs, adventure, this story keeps the reader thoroughly engaged. Ultimately love finds a way and they find their happy ever after. I highly recommend this series and all the other books by Tana Stone. She is an exceptional author who never disappoints.
I received an arc copy of this book and this is my honest voluntary review.
This is the book for our resident tech genius ' Vek and Nina. Vek and Nina have been working on the holo construction on the new boat for the Drexian brides. They've become best friends and both secretly want more but are too afraid to ruin their friendship. Vek and Nina to aboard an Inferno Force battleship to do some work on the holos for the battle ring when an emergency happens and both are thrust into danger. They work tirelessly on fighting a new horrible enemy, make new allies and at the same time can no !on her fight their attraction to each other. Their are misunderstandings, hot passionate moments, internal struggles, anger and ultimate realizations of bone deep love! Great installment and I'm looking forward to the ext in the series.🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖
It is just amazing how this author manages again and again and again – you get the drift? - again - to write such imaginative, exciting, heartfelt, new world, epitome of a story. How, and where from, do the ideas pop up? Earnestly – all these species that pop up in the stories. And now the latest developments in that field, just WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!! Fantastically fantastic, can that even be said together? Well that is still true. This SciFi and this author, just WOW in a great way. So overall for the story, fantastic storyline, fantastic characters, fantastic beginning, fantastic middle, fantastic ending, fantastic possibilities of new tribes or aliens. So, does the next story come out tomorrow? I am already waiting!!!!!
Vekron is a member of Inferno Force and gifted scientist. Nina is human scientist aboard the space station to fine tune the holographics. They've been working closely together for some time and become friends but both want and are afraid to pursue a romantic relationship. When they're accidentally stuck aboard a battleship on a rescue mission, things quickly heat up. Seeing her sexy science bud in warrior mode is a turn on but Vekron is sending mixed signals. Vekron is torn between his love for Nina and his duty to his family. When the stakes are life and death, they realize love trumps all. Another strong, action filled, sexy romp in the series.
...and what he thinks is his sworn duty, are two different things. Vek thinks he owes a life of service to the Drexian Inferno Force. It's family tradition, his dead brother's legacy, his duty to clan and commander, etc. But what he wants is holographic engineering (he's a genius at it), and who he wants is Nina. She's a brilliant holographic designer, they're a dream team, and if Nina gets her way, they're lovers for life. Nothing like a killer alien swarm, a newly discovered alien ally, and a chronic case of mixed messages to muddle a male's thinking, though. It's a steamy, will-they-or-won't-they, battle bedeviled ride into a holographic sunset, and I enjoyed every bump in their road.
Totally enjoyed reading this adventurous romantic alien story which is about Vekron and Nina. Vekron and Nina are assigned to create a hologram programs on the Inferno Force warship. Vekron notices the other warriors staring at Nina and gets very protective, because he is attracted to Nina too. When the ship gets a call for help by the Gerron colony, the warship jumps to the colony. Vekron joins the mission landing on the planet when they get attacked by a new alien force. Now Vekron and Nina are in the heart of a battle. What occurs next was a engaging story that I was engrossed in till the end. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.
As is customary, Tana Stone hit another one out of the ball park. With this book I was a little surprised. I read on a e-reader this book had quite a few errors that I don’t usually see from her books. But, nothing that makes me want to stop reading. The story is just too good. This book is about Vekron and Nina they’re the holo-geeks who are installing the holo’s on the “ship”. The fancy holographics we saw from the beginning with the “fantasy suites” are being installed by these talented two. This book is definitely worth your time! There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. I recommend their story heartily!
Ughhh, I'm not sure why I keep reading these books. They're good, but too short to be really good. Honestly, they leave you wanting more (Not in the good way) more story, more relationship, more interactions ... It's just lacking the depth a longer book might have.
**Spoiler?** In this book we have two friends who start to act on their repressed feelings, only for the guy to immediately act weird after they have sex and struggle with choosing duty over a relationship. Instead of getting to explore all the emotions this might involve, it's quickly wrapped up and all is forgiven and forgotten. No depth.
Really enjoyed this book, it’s action filled from start to finish. We’re introduced to 2 new alien races, one good race, the other evil. The slow burn relationship that passed between Nina and Vek just had to be realised and l enjoyed the way that this was developed. It was great to see other characters from the series interacting with each other too. Looking forward to reading about the new aliens and also reading more stories in this wonderful series.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and this is my review.
I was really looking forward to this friends to lovers alien romance because it’d been teased in the previous books. Vekron and Nina work together on a space station as holographic designers, and when they’re accidentally stranded on Vekron’s old battleship, he goes back to being a (temporary) soldier while she pitches in in the med bay.
I do wish their relationship had been a little more… fun? They were friends for so long but then Vek burned hot and cold for her, kind of twisting her around without talking to her about what he was feeling.
