The book starts with yet another session in the simulator, these are getting really tedious and I worried this was going to be another boring story. Fortunately this book was back to what made the series interesting in the first place and I really enjoyed it.

There are a couple of minor issues, too many of the characters opposing Bob turn into caricatures that are so idiotic that it’s amazing they remember to keep breathing.
Also these stories are galactic in scope, but even after twenty books ‘Earth’ only seems to mean the USA.
I presume it’s because the author is American that he finds it difficult to consider anywhere but the USA, the only other countries he mentions more than once are Russia and China, as enemies (again very American).
The author appears to have a very low opinion of American politicians (not without good reason), but still doesn’t have Bob consider anywhere but the US.

Overall this has been one of the best in the series so far.

Heck, the 20th volume in the series and still going strong, hard to believe I'd still be entranced and enjoying twenty books on from the start.

More of what's gone on before, good laughs, down-home wisdom, some action, idiotic bureaucrats, and of course aliens, spaceships, and more. I love this stuff.

Hopefully, one major issue which has featured in the last few volumes is now settled and we can move on to new pastures.

What I would say to the author if he ever looks at these reviews is give the hero something more challenging to deal with. He's a man of many resources let's see him pulling them fully into use. Not that I'd complain much if things stay as they are, but we all need challenges in life.

another excellent book, glad I stumbled over this series.

I read a lot of books, usually military science fiction paranormal science fiction, spy stories but when I stumbled over the series it was a breath of fresh air. I kept coming across the title Bob and Nikki and I kept wondering what the books were all about.
I started the first one in the series but did not stick with it, then I decided to give it another chance and go through the entire book and now I am hooked on the series, it is a breath of fresh air. The stories are funny imaginative and entertaining this book was as well. Yes some people say it’s repetitive but so is life. It does not have all the blazing action, kill everyone and let God sort it out or extreme violence that other series have. That’s why I like it.
If those of you out there want to get away from the extreme violence and get back to some down-home country style characters you may enjoy this book and the series.

Throughly Enjoyable

I'm so sorry I missed getting this on the release date. No excuses I'm afraid. I'll do better next time. I can't wait until Mr. Ciulla catches up. I use the kindle unlimited for the print copy and buy the audiobook to keep. I don't have room for more books in the library, however I would love to make room for them in hardback. I would free up shelf real estate for those in a heartbeat. The writing style is fabulous. I enjoy creating the images of the characters, events, and locations in my head. Some works are so descriptive that continuity throughout the series is hard to maintain. I've read reviews that complain about too many new characters, not enough imagery, and "he must be anti-government." Well Pumpkin, you can still read Dr. Seuss if you need pictures.

I still read the books but Bob is becoming something of an ass. He is turning into exactly what he said he didn’t want to before going to get the fleet. He said he was afraid he would turn into someone who would say “do what I want because I can blow you out of the sky” and has started doing exactly that. Not to mention the torturing people by putting them in the airlock and removing the air.

I mean I enjoy the way the stories are written (which honestly surprised me) and I like the other characters but Bob is becoming less and less likes me each book despite everyone in the stories loving him to death. Not sure how much more I’ll read. It’s too bad because I loved where things were going in the earlier books and loved all the characters.

Another fulfilling great story

Always something new. I wonder if Jerry ever sleeps? #20 showed up pretty quickly.
Bob and Nikki continues to evolve. Some reviewers continue to whine about repeated by plays and snappy come backs, but they don't seem to enjoy the different situations that BSR, Bob's Saucer Repair, get into and out of in many entertaining different ways. The dialogue may sometimes repeat, but according to the situation the repeat is appropriately funny.
Thank you Jerry and keep them coming!

Another BSR story

I really wish I could be at one of their BBQ. It was a good episode in the tale of Bob and his interactions with the faithless Presidential tool, the Too-clever-by-half Walnut Cartel and the pecksniff Commonwealth. I hope there is more in the offering. It is not deathless prose, but for an afternoon at the doctor’s office or a short eternity at the DMV, it will do nicely.

Home Run

Mr. Boyd is still knocking them out of the park. With book 20 the Company returns to earth and try again to make a deal with the government, so they can rest and recuperate at Saucer Holler in peace and quiet. What new tricks and betrayal will happen this time? What new hires will Bob make? Will they break the bank? What new discoveries? Will they finally arrive before the leave? Read to find out these, and more interesting adventures of Bob's Saucer Repair Company.

Long good read

I started on this series on Kindle unlimited when it was just a few volumes long (6 I think) and started following it and reading each new volume when they came up, when it reached 10 volumes I decided to buy it in case Amazon decide to stop selling old volumes like it happened with other series I've read...

Every new volume is worth every dollar invested, good stories told in a fun and engaging way.

Wow! Another great story

I love this whole series. Good old boy meets the universe with a humble, sneaky sense of humor and a big dose of Intuition. Think of Tom Clancy meets Samuel Clemens and you've got the flavor and color of this series. If this sounds confusing, you'll just have to read the series. Allow lot of time because once you start you'll want to read all the books without any interruptions. Enjoy!

Another satisfying dip into the pool...

The story cycles are still a little excessive, but you kind of look forward to them to stay mellow in the big picture. The president is somewhat of a boob, but it's tough to judge the portrayal as exaggerated. Overall this sets us up for the next books, inching forward with each installment. Start at the first book or risk missing 80% of what is going on at this point.

Stories just keep getting better

I had originally avoided reading the first book because it sounded silly. Twenty books later, I'm still hooked! The chapters are believable, the plots are devious enough to keep you guessing, and the solutions are satisfying. How the author keeps coming up with ideas is a mystery. Just read the first book and then settle back for a great ride.

Hooŕaÿ!!! They finally did it, but I won't tell you what, so you'll have to read it yourself.

This is the twentieth example of what I consider to be excellent writing! It is exciting, fun to read, and funny. The characters are awesome, the situations are logical, the ones who believe themselves to be in power are just as egotistical and stupid as those in this and previous times. Read it and see if you agree with me.

Only he missed a good one. " home again, home again, gigady gig, every time I get home . even one of our astronauts said this as he put his food once more on terra firma. Just can't remember right off who it was. Oh and 'deep kimshi' my husband was Air Force and for years I thought kimshi was and Asian swear word. Now I make it ., kimshi not Asian swear words.

Coming home

This book rounded out the series very well . I have enjoyed the whole series and am sad to see them come to a close. It's said that most authors have one good story, great authors can do it again. I would really like it if Jerry could take us on another wild ride into his world of imagination.

Always a fun read

I really had a problem with the writing style at first but over time I have learned to enjoy it! When Bob is talking to a new addition to the crew or story it feels natural and like your there in Bob’s head and not just watching as a spectator like most books. If you just need a good entertaining read this series works that way for me!!

Mr. Boyd has me hitting the buy button after 20 books so if he gets me to shell out $4 every time he must be doing something right. That something is characters the reader cares about and inventive crossing plotlines. Don't look for great literature that uplifts your soul. but if you want a lighthearted fun read for weekend afternoons, this series fits the bill nicely

Home again

Another good book I couldn’t put down till I finish reading it. I like the way he does his characters and the plot line. I do feel like that on less he can come up with a different twist for the next stories that this series is coming to an end. But you never know the author may surprise me. I hope he does.

Home again

It is difficult to maintain a really long series of books without letting the characters get stale but the Bob and Nikki series is an exception. The series has held up and maybe even improved over time. The only thing I would change would be to add chapters to have a place to stop.

Better each time

This was by far the best of the series so far (book 20 already? I can hardly believe it). Nice plot, all the best at characters, and rounded off to a solid and satisfying finish. Super curious where Bob goes next as there's plenty of open (but not dangling) threads.

Another great story!

The twists and turns in the plot keep on coming. There are some surprises and others interesting points. I have to wonder, based upon Jerry's words of thanks, for us sticking with him, are you finished with the story or will there be more to follow; if the latter, I'll be waiting!

Another great read from Jerry!

I think this is my favorite one yet! While there's still too much "how great thou art" aimed at the "Boss," and I'm not personally thrilled with that moniker, the dialogue just keeps getting better and the stories themselves are riveting. Great job, Jerry!

Sorry it's over

What a treat! I have read all 20 books and enjoyed getting to know the characters. It is good clean fun with humor and a bit of romance thrown in. I do wish we could learn more about how the fleet does after Home Again and also hear more about the twins. I think they will be special.

Perfection!

Once again I spent way too much time checking to see how close I was to the end of the book, dreading BSR withdrawal symptoms. Someone needs to invent a memory editor so I can start the series over, no wait, I’m old enough to show the beginnings of that naturally. Being a senior citizen does have a few advantages.

unique style- great stories

The first couple of books were irritating, because of a lack of paragraphs, but I kept reading to find out what happened next. The later books are almost in a journal format, but there are no chapters. The stories are great fun though and difficult to put down.

What a ride

I decided to do a review every 10 books. The series is really excellent. Since there are no chapters it feels more like sitting around a camp fire listening to stories. The characters are great and the action keeps you on the edge of your seat. I pounding through one per day.
Keep up the good work Jerry.

steak, beer and a place to live equals happiness

I love this series as it keeps getting better. I wonder when the Fuzzys will make an appearance? I love bringing Amelia Earhart back and some of the other touches they’ve done in this series. Yeah they make the president look bad but hey, it’s a story.

A excellent continuation of a story line!

I ams rereading this series. It just gets better as I notice new things. I was purchasing the issues as Mr. Boyd released them. Good solid science fiction with hints of Eros. Feels like fiction from the Golden Age of science fiction! Never get tired of it. Lots of action!
