Six-Pack #2

Alpha Theo

Rate this book
I’m known for two things: screwing girls and screwing things up. My father doesn’t think I’m mature enough to become Alpha of our pack, so in a bid to prove him wrong, I decide to take on more responsibility with the Security Squad as the new liaison to the IT unit. Of course, I immediately get distracted by a girl- one who happens to be my polar opposite and wants nothing to do with me. Just like I’ll never be good enough for my dad, I’ll never be good enough for little miss perfect, either... but what if I’ve finally met my match?

~

Alpha Theo is book two in the Six-Pack Series, a collection of interconnected paranormal (wolf shifter) romance novels. While this book ends with a HEA for the main characters and no major cliffhangers, there are some overarching storylines that may not be resolved at the conclusion of this book because they run throughout the entirety of the series. As such, the books of this series are best read in order. These books contain mature content (steamy scenes!) and themes that may not be suitable for younger readers. If frequent use of profanity and f-words offend, then these books may not be for you.

Hoo boy. This was a long and windy road to HEA. This couple legitimately goes from enemies to friends to it’s complicated to lovers. But it felt very realistic for their characters.

I initially didn’t want to deal with the slow burn, but tried the sample. I was hooked from Theo’s first interaction with Brooke. He’s supposed to be this suave guy who’s slept with everyone, and he completely bombs his first attempt to flirt with Brooke, which was absolutely hilarious to me.

Both go through quite a bit of character development so I was glad to see them do that before they entered a committed relationship.

Awesome book

Loved her. She is a nerd and reading her pov was fun. She is soft but knows how to stand her ground against Theo.

What an asshole. He‘s a walking red flag and I had my problems with him. I‘m glad his character developed well and he truly cared for Brooke.

This was a great book. The author has a good and captivating writing style. Everything is easy to understand and the pace is appropriate. I had fun with this story although I wish we got more of the characters in wolf form. I mean I read this book for the wolfs and it‘s kinda disappointing that the shifting played only a minor part in this book.
Brooke and Theo are like ice and fire. While she is a soft and kind nerd he is the loud and hot head asshole alpha. Still they match and I liked their dialogue and interaction. Theo got more mature with Brooke at his side and Brooke starts to live her life properly with Theo. Both are good for each other.
Overall this was a good book and I‘m happy to continue with this series.

BROOKE~ is smart and a bit of an introvert, knowing theo's reputation, she shuts him down at every turn.
She just wants to do her work & be left alone...Which would have been fine until they are forced to work closer together .
Theo takes her rejections as a challenge....and initially just wants to get into her pants....but the more time they spend together, the more he realises that Brooke is someone he genuinely enjoys spending time with and respects.

I really loved how they would bond over Brookes love of music. And that because of his history of just hittin it and quittin it, he is also quite inexperienced when it comes to relationships, so seeing him fumble the bag was pretty adorable.

Their journey was hardwon, but when they finally opened up to each other its totally worth it. And the spice is 🥵🥵🥵
The character development & depth for Brooke & Theo was done really well. theo had a lot of self reflecting to do, and even Brooke had a few of her own insecurities that kept getting in their way. Perfect if you love angsty, tension filled werewolf romance.

Just discovered this shifter series by new to me author @c.j.primer

I adore shifter series and @c.j.primer has built an excellent world. I love reading the different takes on shifter life and the mating bonds by various authors. @suzanne_wright_author does this excellently and I have to say, so does @c.j.primer

The writing is fantastic and the story is the right amount of lengthy and engaging. The sex in this was hot, hot, hot.

The Six Pack series derives of six neighbouring packs, each with their own Alphas and autonomous in their own right. Forming a super pack alliance to protect their territory from a power hungry and dangerous pack, these six packs have each other’s backs.
Only the full moon can reveal who their fated mate is which I think adds a lovely relationship and tension building between the H and h before their fates are revealed. I also think it’s great that you can choose your mate if the bond is strong enough regardless of whether they are fated mates or not.

Anyway, check out her stories! Looking forward to Quinn and Jax’s story.

This book is soooooo good! I really loved the plot of the two of them being the two getting together. Even if it was a bit cliche lol. I really enjoyed it. I loved that you could see the love he had for her bloom from the beginning it was sooooo cute and I loved that when she told her sister about the sparks she felt whenever they touched her sister had an inkling that he was her mate. I really hope that the next book in the series is just as good as this one and the first one and that the story isn't solely like the first two where it focuses so much on the relationship between them and that spanning 50-ish chapters. I want to see like it sort of happen quickly and well and then like the story focus on their bond and the life they have etc. More of a story than their relationship being the plot. I feel like something hinky is going on in Denver and would love to see more of that in the next book as well!

Theo is absolutely hilarious. He reminds me of so many guys I knew in high school. He’s so arrogantly sure of himself, but then he also knows how to laugh at himself.
I love the way the author developed his character throughout the book, she really nailed it!!

I wish I could give this book more than five stars. It was so good I read it all within a day. Cant wait for the next instalment!!

Theo

It was okay! I gave it 3 stars...honestly behavior like his is almost all of the romance books. Bad behavior, and just poor judgement seems to be the norm. I was hoping the twin sister of such a bold character that was in the first book, she wouldn't put up with his behavior.

For a Wattpad book, this series is a true finding. It's refreshing, light and funny. Yes, it's the typical alpha mate bond story, but the writing style is good. I didn't like this book as the first one (Alpha Gray), but it was still enjoyable.

It took me a little while to start this book, I liked Alpha Gray - but l'm an action girly, so the full on love story was a bit,,, lot? But, if that's for you, you'll love book one and two, I really enjoyed this book and glad I picked this series back up, part of me just wishes there was more action, definitely reading 3, about Jax - because the world building is just too good when it comes to the authors story telling! @c.j.primer
Brook is a really sweet, demure, kind young lady with a wild side begging to be let out, Theo is a strong willed stallion who isn't wanting to be tamed, when hard to get and shamelessly flirty collide, you get the sweetest love story you didn't know you needed.
Side characters aren't huge in this series thus far, but what we do get of them feels natural and adds nicely to the plot
World building - I would love to be alive in this universe within one of the packs, specifically to be best friends with Vienna.
Plot twists/cliff hanger - book was really predictable, but as someone who's only just getting into "chick flicks" | enjoyed it, was new to me! Cliff hanger was pretty soft, but has me excited for the next book!
Overall, I think I'll be finishing this series, as my favorite is a few books away and I wanna see him go from grumpy gills to googly bear lol

I have a new favorite for this series!
This was seriously so much more my vibe then the first book. A bit of a slow burn with so much tension.

This is Theo and Brookes story.
Theo is this bad boy ladies man that’s determined to think that he’s this huge screwup that will never live up to his father’s expectations in order to become the alpha of his pack. Because of this he is a raging douchebag. Sleeps around, arrogant dick with a huge lack in communication skills. Like be prepared to not like him lol.

Brooke is this very quiet reserved computer nerd that is known for being the pack “Good Girl” and makes all the safe choices in life.

They start hanging out when Theo is assigned to supervise the IT department where Brooke works. This man is determined to hit it and quit it with her. She’s determined to not fall for his charm because she’s very aware of his history.

But as he’s forced to become her friend first they end up having fantastic chemistry. He’s sweet and thoughtful with her and just tells himself they’re just friends. She likes hanging out with him because he pushes her out of her comfort zone. But on paper they think they’re so wrong for each other.

Things kind of just grow from there. But I will say when this man falls. He falls HARD

Read this book if you love a redemption arc, mate bonds, slow burn, and just a man so down bad.

This was a rollercoaster of emotions.
Enemies to friends, friends to lovers to it’s complicated to HEA and I am here for it!

Yes it was a much slower pace than book 1 but because we know how Brooke was in book 1 we knew she wouldn’t be as reckless as Fallon was. When I originally thought it would be her and Theo together I was reluctant to read as I didn’t like Theo much in the first book. Boy did my opinion on him do a 180! He went through so much, his dad is a complete dick and it’s no wonder he struggled and rebelled In his youth.

There was so much more character development in this book than the first which was so much better. The way Theo developed throughout this book was brilliant. We saw him really trying to change his ways, sometimes he slipped up and went back to his old ways but he grew from this and this just made me love him even more.

Brooke was the sweetest girl and I’m so glad she came out of her shell. It was so sad to finally see why she tries to keep her wolf hidden.

The author has really grown in this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

4.5 // What an improvement from book one! I loved this installment. The character development is excellent for both Brooke and Theo but particularly for Theo. He has a lot more to overcome emotionally and his evolution is poignant.

When he’s a boy he loses his mother tragically which causes his father to become hard on him. Theo grows up blaming himself for her death and believes his father does too. He consider himself a screw up and numbs his pain with casual sex and his motorcycle, bailing always whenever emotional intensity rears its head.

Watching him crush on Brooke, mess it up more than once, take accountability for it while also taking the initiative to shore up the packs defenses is the maturity we want to see in him and has you cheering for his successes.

Meanwhile Brooke has one foot out the door because she’s unsure if she can trust him but also lacks confidence when she compares herself to his past conquests. She has to decide to jump in with both feet same as Theo and be willing to risk her heart.

Theo, womanizing Alpha

Theo was all about bedding and drinking when not being present for the training squad. He was angry and deep inside lonely.
Theo was looking for something else to do with his time, he was bored. Grey suggested he help out with the IT hub. The manager was going into labor soon, so she'll be gone for awhile. He would fill in, report there findings on, send the info to Grey.
Brooke is identical twins with Fallon. She found her fated mate with Alpha Grey. She preferred to stay in the hub. It was safe and comfortable. Even on her off time, she was continuing coding for the hub.
Theo was drawn to Brooke, but had no idea why. So he sat next to her to annoy her. It amused him.
Slowly he just wanted to be around her, formed a friendship of sorts. He pushed her to live a little. At times pushing to far, scaring her.
They both needed to open up to one another. His anger was deep rooted, but Brooke was holding back too.

After reading Alpha Gray is I was abit aprehensive as I didn't enjoy it that much however this one is a vast improvement. Having previously met the characters in the first book we get to know more about them and how they tick. It is the nerdy female and playboy alpha storyline but this shows great character development and redemption for Theo.

After the first few chapters you just want to keep reading. We know its gonna have a HEA but its fun going on the journey with them and the things Theo does to try to impress Brooke and her trying to get over his history with other women.

Its not the typical werewolf story as there is only a couple of instances where they shift but there isnt really anything said about them in wolf form. We have the odd mention when the leads are with each other that they are there in their eyes. If this is not an issue then this book is worth a read.

~ bad boy/nerd
~ manwhore
~ character growth
~ slow paced

⚠️ Theo is a manwhore, even after he decides to pursue Brook he’s trying to hook up with ow and thinking crude thoughts about them. Brook catches him getting a hand job, but before they’re officially friends.

I had a lot of reservations about Theo and the first half proved them all true! He was a right jerk to Brook, and I felt like she definitely forgave too easily, but ultimately I really loved the connection and relationship that developed between this couple, more so than Fallon/Gray. This is pretty slow moving with more relationship building, Brook holds out for what she deserves, Theo falls hard lol it was cute to see, we get more adventurous than Gray/Fallon in the 🌶️ department.

I’ll be reading Alpha Jax’s book when I get more Amazon credits.

I am not sure that I believe in the concept that opposites attract, but in this particular case the live story is precisely that.

I liked the fact that the heroes went through different stages, from people who couldn't possible stand each other to building something resembling friendship and then finally reaching that stage of admitting their genuine feelings for each other.

Again, it was a pleasant book and it was nice to see the transformations that Theo went through as a consequence of his interactions with Brooke. I reckon that what I thoroughly liked about their connection was that the FMC saw something in Theo that he himself had long forgotten and for that his character really developed towards the end of the book.

I'm giving this one a 4.75⭐️. The .25 deduction is because I would've liked to see a bit more drama. However, you have to take that with a grain of salt, because my typical genre is dark romance (stalkers, assassins, vigilantes, etc) and I'm used to high energy, chaos, suspense, and lots of unaliving.

I was always 'Team Jacob' so, I picked up the Six-Pack series - mind you, its my first one. I didn't know what to expect. I knew it wasn't my typical "dark romance", but I wanted to read something new.

I was pleasantly surprised. It's just your basic romance. Predictable with a HEA, but it has a nice plot and once the spice hits (pretty late in the story, but that's to be expected with the story) its good.

I would definitely recommend this book.

I would

🇺🇲I loved the relationship between theo and Brooke. I feel that each of them had their own problems and they were able to talk about it, and face them together. I loved that although it is a story of love and soul mates (fated mates), they worked together for what they wanted. Very nice story with characters (within the fictional) very real

Hmm well I have a lot to pick apart with this book. First off the MMC Theo is so immature through more than half the book that it’s hard to like him at all. Brooke is almost just as bad. Picking fighting with her insecurities. It’s too much like the first book but with different characters. They bicker on and off. Hot and cold constantly. Then all the sudden they click and are all in. As far as plot goes nothing has happened in the 2 book. They’re supposed to be gearing up for a fight from another pack but it never comes. It’s more work around the compound and bickering. I just can’t finish this series. I was hoping to love the series but it was pretty underwhelming

Read through the GoodNovel App. Thankfully I liked the characters of book two as well as book one (hopefully that continues), took an adjustment not to see Fallon and Brooke as the same person as I was reading (given they're twins). Loved the nerdy but shy persona and yet can't quite pinpoint when Brooke changed into a naughty girl... but I loved that Theo brought that out in her. In which case I might have to go back and reread certain bits for clarification. The rhythm of stopping and starting of waiting to read chapters is getting easier.

In Alpha Theo, you can notice the improvement in the writing style of the author. I was very excited to read Brooke's book, and I feel satisfied with what C.J. Primer gave us. Theo is a very simple male lead, but in the end, his chemistry with Brooke worked, and the couple's story was interesting enough to get me through the book. The sexy scenes were also quite good.

I'm not really curious enough to continue reading the next books, so I'll stop with this series here, but nonetheless, It was a good book.

Wow this book guys… I wasn’t sure if I completely hated the mmc or loved him, the angst was that good.

The spice was a solid amount all towards the end of the book but it delivered nothing too crazy so I’ll give it a 3.5🌶️

Characters. They carried. I LOVED the trope Hot bad boy to nerdy shy good girl mmmhhhm I eat that up every time. 5/5

The plot and story line was well developed too and there was good character growth and all that.

The banter was good I’d give it a 3.5 had me kicking my feet occasionally which we love

2nd favorite (1st being Chase)

I just live for how CJ Primer writes. Not only are her characters so unique, but she makes you feel like you know them personally. Theo is no exception, with his bad boy exterior but sweet boy underneath it all, you can't help but turn the pages to see Brooke bring that sweet boy out. I've read this book AT LEAST 4X and each time I'm just as into it as the last

A slow 🔥… but worth it!

Theo and Brooke had a super rocky road! They went from enemies, to friends, to it’s complicated to lovers at the very end. Both had their ups and down and I really liked how CJ Primer didn’t force them together before they were ready. They both had to grow individually and grow together before they could really work. In the end, they were able to make it work.

The second book in the six-pack series. Once again the author does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life. Theo the main male character in this book is so different to the male character in the first book, but you will still fall in love with him. An amazing read with twists and turns that keep the audience interested at all times.
