Declan This was not supposed to happen. I liked easy, uncomplicated and baggage free, God knows, I had enough of my own! Anita was none of those things. I didn't even know who she was when I first met her...when we first got together and by the time I did, it was too late because now I needed her like I needed my next breath. I mean, what we were doing wasn't wrong, but my brother, Mase, might not agree. Anita I wasn't looking for anything, but I found him, a stranger who was now anything but, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. This was only going to end one way, with me hurt and carrying more baggage and scars than I might be able to bear. We were adults and able to make our own decisions, although, I had a history of bad decision making. When this went wrong it was going to be too close to home and I could only hope that I wouldn't lose my sister, Olivia, because of it.
I have always said I could and should write a book and now I have.
When I was sixteen years old my English teacher told me I was going to be the next Harold Robbins with my love for writing slightly risqué tales, but it was almost another thirty years before I truly took the plunge into writing for adults. Away from writing I work in the public education system and am a wife and mother of two. We share our home in the UK with a very spoilt and pampered cat and dog who truly rule the roost. I have a passion for romance, reading and writing it. The stories I write ooze chemistry, sensuality, love and sex. However, they do not shy away from uncomfortable subject matter such as death, violence, unhappy marriages and abusive relationships making them suitable for an adult audience. It is my hope to portray relatable characters who are three dimensional with redeeming qualities, flaws and room for growth that readers learn to love as the story develops.
Disaster-in-Waiting is my first self-published book that has evolved from dozens of previously written stories, many unfinished and the thousands of books I have read. I am incredibly proud of the story it tells and honestly believe I have written a story I would want to read.
I read One Night or Forever by the author years ago and just discovered this second installment. Not a fan. And I’m a fan of her writing. I felt she should’ve just done a second book, novella, whatever with Mase and Olivia since they featured so much in this book. It felt like she was trying to make a Mase/Olivia 2.0 rather than developing Declan and Anita. All I got was Declan is essentially like Mase, brothers go-figure, but a current rather than reformed man whore and Anita is curvy and can’t dance, but who they are what makes them them is flimsy at best. Wasn’t really interested in the thin plot devices to cause conflict in their relationship either.
