What better way to enjoy the scenic splendor of Lancaster County than from the sky? When Martha and her sisters, Elizabeth and Mary, attend the annual Lancaster County Hot Air Balloon Festival, they’re excited about getting a bird’s-eye view of Bird-in-Hand. But as their balloon drifts across the idyllic landscape, Martha is shocked to witness what looks like a kidnapping taking place in a parking lot below. When the Classen sisters finally make it to the spot of the abduction, all they find is a small charm from a Girl Scout summer camp held years ago. Could this be a clue to the identity of their missing woman? When no one files a missing person report, the sisters have no choice but to take matters into their own hands. Will they find the woman—and discover the reason she was kidnapped—or has the sisters’ penchant for mystery made them see a crime where none exists?

This mystery involves a kidnapping, a lost charm, a balloon festival, and a restaurant. The mystery was interesting, but one of the characters got obsessed, which was annoying.

Another cozy mystery for the Classen sisters to solve
This time Mary, Martha and Elizabeth are taking a balloon ride when Martha sees someone being kidnapped. The only clue they have, if it is a clue, is a charm from a bracelet. The girls put on their sleuthing caps but gradually run out of options. Even with the help of Officer John and teacher Alex, the information is not enough to go on. The sisters do not let that stop them and continue to help people along the way as they weed out suspects.
A vey enjoyable story from picturesque Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. A great addition to the series. I am always glad to see what the sisters are up to.

Mary, Martha and Elizabeth Classen are enjoying the Lancaster County Hot Air Balloon Festival. While riding in a balloon, Martha is sure she sees a kidnapping taking place. However, once they reach the ground, they can find no evidence of a kidnapping. Not being deterred, the ladies put on their sleuthing hats and try to find answers. With leads diminishing, will they be able to find the supposed victim in time? I love the sisters. This story is a wonderful addition to the series. Shaen Layle and Nancy Mehl do a wonderful job with this addition to the series. I love the cozy mysteries involving the sisters and their perchance for trouble. I received an advanced copy from the author. A review was not required. Those expressed were my own.

I enjoyed this book so much! Very well written and I was thrilled to read the whole book without finding one mistake in spelling. I have never been a big fan of cozy mysteries but this book was great and held my attention from the first page to the last. I love the three sisters, Elizabeth, Martha and Mary. I admired the fact that after seeing what she was sure was a kidnapping and couldn’t get the police to get involved that she wouldn’t rest until she could solve the mystery and find the victim. I would only hope that if that was me someone would get obsessed about finding me. Also the touch of romance was just right, not overdone. Shaen Layle and Nancy Mehl are both excellent authors and I can recommend this book to you even if you are not a fan of cozy mysteries. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher with no requirement for a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the first book in the Mysteries of Lancaster County that I've read. I'm definitely going to read more of them.

Set in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania Amish country, the Classen sisters run Secondhand Blessings, a gift and thrift store. The store is housed in the family barn on the property they inherited. Elizabeth, Martha and Mary are compassionate individuals with a big heart. They are the first to help someone in need. Martha during a hot air balloon ride spots what looks like a kidnapping happening below. Determined not to give up the search to find out who it was, Martha sometimes carries things too far putting herself in danger.

I loved the clues, and the way Martha refuses to give up. The suspense throughout the story was great and had a nice buildup clear to the end. The ending did surprise me. The characters were very relatable, and I enjoyed the sister's playful banter. Can't wait to read the next one.

I won this book in a giveaway.

Another great story with the Classen sisters. I would like to think I'd do exactly what Martha did if I were to see a crime happen before my eyes. I love the way these sisters come together always for each other. It's a great story to get your mind working and investigating right along with the sisters. Great job Shaen & Nancy. Highly recommend!

What a great book! It was so hard to put down once I started to read it. Boy, the situations the Classen sisters get themselves into at times.

The girls were on a hot air balloon ride when Martha was sure she a woman kidnapped. Here sister weren’t sure at first if they should believe her because it was dark and hard to see. They had very few clues to find the woman. But, Martha was determined and couldn’t think of much else but the missing woman. They were getting close to finding her when Martha found herself in the in the kidnapper’s sight. Boy, was surprised at who the kidnapper was!

What an intriguing & creative read. What would you do if you witnessed a (potential) crime from a hot air balloon, but by the time you landed there was no evidence that anything happened? Martha, her sisters & other characters have their hands full looking for clues & solving what seems to be an unsolvable case. I also enjoyed the day to day life that happened to the sisters because life doesn’t stop because of a mystery to solve. I would love to meet them on a trip to Lancaster.
