Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.
Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.
She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.
The beginning I was not really a fan of. I don’t remember much about their interaction in the previous book and I don’t know why what Sam did to his sister made Yvette not like him. I get she has trust issues and is friends with his sister but it doesn’t concern her at least in my eyes. Then the kidnapping happened and I was felt eh about it because I didn’t expect that. Also the repetitive thoughts they had. Her not trusting him and him thinking he is not good enough. Now for the good things. I really did enjoy the last half. It was just so sweet and ugh so good! There was enough interactions between them to grow feelings for each other and wondering how the other felt. the tension of what happen to the kidnapper. And then giving a home and family to those sweet boys after what they though. Can’t wait to read the next book!
Yvette is a spoiled rich girl. Sam is a simply cowboy with extremely low self esteem, and almost no confidence in his self-worth. Can two polar opposites come together?
Loved the Scripture references and the strong faith these two shared. Tad and Gil…my heart went out to those two little guys. I loved how Yvette took to them so quickly.
Sam, towards the end, got on my nerves a bit with his reluctance to man up and admit his feelings to Yvette. But, I understand when you’ve been degraded most of your life, you don’t have the confidence you need.
This is a sweet and loving story about the fifth son of Circle A ranch. Sam and his brother are part of the group of boys brought to the CircleA after John was in hired and Maude needed help. They have become a large loving family and Maude has taken it upon herself to find brides for all seven boys. Sam an Grace’s friend are kidnapped by a wicked man. He intends to take to to ransom her to her father for lots of money and this is their tale. You will enjoy discovering how they come to be with Gil and Tad and escape the kidnappers clutches. You will also enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
Engaging adventure of a kidnapped spoiled rich Yvette and Sam whose simple task was to take her to meet folks to take her back to her parents. The bumbling, Blackie is uncle to two orphaned boys and Yvette and Sam fall first in love with them, then each other. To get to the fort, Blackie leads them on what nearly turns into a death march for the couple and the children, but it is he who succumbs. But not knowing the ending of Blackie it is Sam who proves his abilities for surviving in the island brings the assembled family to the fort.
Sam’s sister is happily married to Adam. She had her best friend from back east come visit her, Yvette. Sam was taking Yvette to town to go back home. Yvette is still mad at Sam for lying about the letters Adam had written for him. Then Blackie comes in the picture and kidnaps Yvette for ransom from her rich daddy. He knocks out Sam………..don’t put the book down because you have to see how it ends. Awesome book!!!!!
I really enjoyed the book. It was intriguing, yet had drama and some romance. You take one pampered young lady who was not impressed with her friends brother. While the brother doesn't understand the friend. There in begins a complains events that leave 2 children who have suffered greatly by an uncle. You add our 2 adults who are Kidnapped by the uncle. There in you mix a little of this, and some of that and it makes a family.
Yvette a girl that Blackie kidnapped her and held her for ransom from her rich parents. Sam a Cowboy who was supposed to deliver her to meet two people to take her home, but instead she was kidnapped and held hostage. I don’t want to give this away, but it’s really an awesome book. I highly recommend this book.
Keep it all in Prayer Great adventure with lots of danger and problems but it all worked out with God's help. Sam and Yvette needed to overcome disparate backgrounds and the adventure gave them reason to do the work to overcome the issues. Their common ground was a good upbringing with attention to scripture as the centerpiece. That also really helped a lot.
Very nice story of how money can be harmful. A pampered girl from money finds herself in a harmful place. Only her friend's brother won't let her be seriously hurt by a man wanting money from her wealthy father. Another one of the authors heart warming stories.
I loved how all the boys came from either an orphanage or they lost their parents and the couple that adopted them treats them like their own. I would recommend this book to all and must read the whole series. I love reading Linda Ford's books.
Another cowboy Mets hi match! The adopted sons of Maude and John Arbuckle teach us to overcome adversity and trust in the Lord! Love the scriptures sprinkled in the story! Great read!
By far my favorite cowboy, his book didn't take place on the ranch, there were many trials to overcome with being kidnapped and having to deal with abuse. This is the best book so far
I really enjoyed reading this book. Loved the mystery surrounding the story. Loved how God worked out all things for good. If only we could always remember that we can trust Him . Really enjoyed.
I liked how this cowboy who was raised as an orphan worked to show this woman that he could save her from a mean man. They then save his nephews from his tough treatment of them and married to make them a family.
Two more little mistreated orphaned boys found a mother and father who would love them. After an arduous journey Sam, Yevette, Gil and Tad are now a happy family. I love these books. Thank you Linda Ford for another great book.
As usual Linda made you to keep guessing. The family has grown. I enjoy every book Linda Ford written. She always has the families who love the Lord. She is a great Christian.
The rough cowboy and the rich city girl find themselves in an adventure for survival toss in two little boys and. It becomes a story well worth reading.
I have enjoyed this whole series, but this one was even better because of the kidnapping. Gil and Tad were awesome kids who you couldn't help hoping for the best
This is the best of this series so far, and they've all been good. It had a good bit of excitement, and was less predictable than a lot of this type of book.
