I’m disappointed because I thought this would be a poetry book and it was just rumbling thoughts that often repeated.

I am…. Underwhelmed.
So much so that I’m almost angry I paid so much for this book.

This isn’t poetry as we know it, there’s hardly a part that even rhymes.
It’s more on the philosophical side if I wanted to label it in some way. It’s tiny pep talks that your friends and family (or even yourself) give you when things get a little confusing, sour or tasteless in life. Classic motivational quotes.
It’s like a get well soon card in 126 pages.

I’m really a fan of poetry and also of easy-to-digest new age poetry that kind of reinvented the whole thing and even I can’t enjoy this really.
It lacks… heart.

Before I come to the part of what I liked, there’s one more thing - so much repetition! Not only are some quotes reprinted in a different font basically but the texts themselves also carry the same metaphors and it felt like I was reading the same piece over and over again.

However ! There were passages that I actually liked and touched me - the introduction was one of them. When I read this part I was actually excited to dive into Sophia’s world.
And the few actual poems that rhymed and bared a little spark of originality.
I think this book could be cool for young adults, those who are still very much figuring things out for themselves.
I’d imagine to find this in a UO store…

To me, every part sounded like something I’ve read before. And I’m pretty sure I did.
Sophia said in her introduction that you could even tear pages out of this book to make the most out of it and at first i was like “nooo I could never”…. I changed my mind midway through. These bits work well as post it reminders, motivational quotes.
Oh god, I really wanted to like this. But the price and the performance really rubbed me the wrong way.

Highly recommended from a 22 year old girl! I’m about to graduate college and move onto a new chapter of life. This book made me cry happy and sad tears at the same time. It felt like the author was speaking directly to me! I highly recommend it to anyone, especially those going through life changes and entering a new chapter.

a book for aesthethic girlies that don't read and need a "thought provoking" book to post on their insta stories

Life has been tough lately and I haven't been reading as often as I would like but I saw someone recommend this book and I decided to read it for something a little more comforting.

Aside from it being mildly repetitive, it gave me the words I needed to keep going.

To those out there having a tough time, I hope you know things will get better eventually!

This book was the perfect thing to read first thing in the morning or last thing before bed. Each poem is filled with something special, and left me with a new thought, a comforting feeling, or a smile. Sophias words were such a treat to read!

I love love love this book! I would read one poem to my team at work each day and it really put us in in the right mindset to be successful. Would be a great thing to read before meditation or before bed each night.

I found this quite comforting and reassuring. Sometimes we forget that the struggles we go through alone aren't unique to just us, and that there are other people in a similar situation. It's so nice to hear your thoughts through the words of someone else.

Most of this is not poetry, just random thoughts or words of encouragement. It also repeats the same thing over more than once for no apparent reason. It did have a some actual good poems and points though. Over all it could have done with a lot of editing down.

Sorry if this really brings the score down I did enjoy it!! Not the most inspired I’ve ever been + had a big dollop of white womanhood, but there were some moments of tenderness that did me well ❤️

Really enjoyed this collection. Loved how it talks about growing up and outgrowing some things how it talks about friendship and feelings and I feel connected to it.
