Like the previous book, this really felt more like a fraction of a story than a complete book. The Marked by the Dragon series in general seems episodic in nature, each audiobook being only three hours and each book only giving so much of the story at a time.

Because of this, it's hard to accurately review just one part of it.

I will say I enjoyed this one likely the same amount as the previous book, though more so in some areas. I do very much so like the way the dragons are depicted and the additional lore we get, and the plot is picking up.

When I've read the last book, I'll do an series review and update this (as well as my review of the previous book) with it.

I gave the 1st book 2 ⭐s & Im giving the 2nd 2 as well. The plot is interesting enough to make me want to read on but the books aren't that great. They end at awkwark parts and honestly, these two books could have been one.
I don't even really know what to say about this one.

this is the 2nd book in the Marked by the Dragon series by Richard Fierce and I am enjoying them a lot. Mina finally learns which Dragon's scale she has in her leg and he tells her if he removes it it could kill her. Meanwhile she has uncovered a plot to kill the High Prince. Copper the dragon she is now bonded with (whose scale she has in her leg) decides to take Mina to a meeting of the Dragon Elders. Meanwhile Kaden, is taken out to be killed, after finding the plot to kill the High Prince. Call of the Dragon is book 3 and I am looking forward to reading the further adventures of Mina, Copper, and I hope Kaden.

This story had me invested. I couldn't put it away until I've finished the book. It's getting better and better. Keeps me thinking who will betray whom next.

It's good to see the main character is developing. A good story and some pieces do leave you in suspense for what will happen next. I can definitely see the characters changing from my original impressions as the story gets more complex. Awaiting the next part. And yes, I'm still struggling with the Audiobook part, mostly it's the attempt at changing the character's voices, the main character's in particular.

The story continues in book 2, and it follows Mina and Caden as the unexpected continues to happen and dragons become the center of their lives. (For me, it's unfortunate that some of these authors and publishers insist on splitting one good book into four, and that is what is happening here. Each book is short - #3 is shorter still. Sigh - pet peeve for me!)

Getting better

There are still some conventional plot twists that diminish the story however it's still a quick and enjoyable read .
