Once you’ve learned about yourself, be sure to share the book with friends and family to improve the important relationships in your life!
A friend loaned me her copy of Illustrated Enneagram so that I could help her identify her Enneagram type, along with my own. I’m well-versed in astrology, but not personality tests, so I’m new to the Enneagram world.
I went through the book section by section, taking the test located in the back and going from there. I got the result of Type 2: The Giver or sometimes called “The Helper,” which is described as empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. From the Enneagram Institute, “[Type Twos] are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs”
This definitely felt accurate for me, and I liked how the book went into motivations that influence your behavior, fears and how to navigate them, how to communicate with Enneagram types effectively, what kind of relationships or types of security they crave, love languages, and how to better yourself, alongside the cute and colorful illustrations.
The only thing I was left wanting more of was more explanations of the more complex parts of Enneagram, such as wings, growth numbers and stress numbers. There was some mention of this, but I was still a bit confused after reading, so I plan to do more research!
h my goodness! I love this book. I have been really enjoying learning my number, my husbands number and my kids numbers. This easy to read and follow illustrated guide is not only useful, education and fun, but also a beautiful coffee table book. I can finally understand enneagram beau see this book is so perfectly and stunningly laid out. This book has sparked my interest to dig deeper and to learn more. I recommend this book 100 times over if you want to learn more and to have a report understanding of yourself and those you are closest too. This would also be great to use with coworkers.
I’m not going to rate this because it’s so subjective, but the illustrations were beautiful and I thought it was a short and sweet way to be introduced to the enneagram. Once I reassured myself of my number, I mostly flipped through and looked at all the 7’s (me) and 8’s (husband).
