Blaise Callaghan is a man on a mission. Released from prison for a crime he did not commit, he is once again a free man, his overly-strict parole officer notwithstanding, and determined to clear his name. However his small, idyllic hometown has not forgotten or forgiven, and his return there sets off a chain of events that push Blaise to the edge of his endurance. Can he win back the trust and love of Sophie McDaniels, the woman he loves, or will she keep her wedding date with another man? Can his mother continue to live with what she's done? Who will survive this tangled web of deceit and lies?
Definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Accused of a crime he did not commit he has to face the turmoil that the accusation created and in the meantime try and prove his innocence. I really felt sad for him and what he had to go through. I would have given 5 stars but found some of the story lingered too much on other characters.
This was a wonderful read...albeit an emotional one...! Eden Monroe nailed it with every twist and turn; she captivated each character to a T; I loved, I cried, I smiled! Can't wait to read another of her books..! Theresa TeeTee MacAllister
