Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV. A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit. She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions. She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides. Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'
I started the first of this series somewhere on line. I *thought* it was going to be some stupid romance story. I was so mistaken. This series is amazing. I couldn't put it down. Some commented Alora's thoughts were "too much." I very much enjoyed it. I felt it fleshed out the story better. Reminiscent of Ann Rice. This author is INCREDIBLE.
You can tell the author really found her footing during the second book and told this story well. I initially gave 4 stars, but changed it to 5 once I had read the full thing. The reason for the lower score, was because sometimes a slang would be used instead of the word. An example is this: the author was writing about someone's thoughts and they used "uncomfy" instead of just saying "uncomfortable." This was done with other words as well, and I just felt it was a distraction and took away something. But I will definitely be buying the next book and can't wait to see what happens next. As a side note, I honestly thought that Carmen and Jasper would get their own book once they imprinted and he rejected her. I can't decide if I'm glad I don't have to wait to find out if/when they get together, or if I'm disappointed that we don't get a more in-depth look at their mating. 😉
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES! I was so excited to start this book. The angst and suspense had me felling jittery inside. The excitement was like an earthquake and the aftershocks just kept on coming. I loved Alora and Colton characters. They were both so strong and totally bada** I was ecstatic with the way things turned out with the green mist. Meadows charter was fun, at times I was laughing out loud. At times I had tears in my eyes. Poor Carmen, could life have been any tougher for her. This series definitely left me wanting more. I really wish there'd be another book or a novela to find out how the twins turns out. I Highly recommend this book/series to everyone.
I really appreciate the camaraderie that the females in this book had especially with how Carmen was fleshed out more in this book. She captured my interest way more than the FMC and that says a lot. The supporting characters were done well.
That being said, I felt like Alora was set up to be badasses and then all of that potential I shut down with her pregnancy. She felt whiny, unreliable and an ingrate especially towards LC who deserved more recognition than she was given.
Everything was wrapped up too neatly and easily. If a spinoff comes out based on her daughter's, I doubt I'll pick it up.
I listened to this on FreeFM app that I pay yearly for (you can listen for free while watching ads too). I’m never looking for anything great when listening to audiobooks, just something to listen to when I’m cleaning or in the car and can’t physically read. This app is the best I found so far for this because I can switch from reading to listening and it has the best set up price wise. All that being said, I’m not looking for the best book I’ve ever read just something to pass the time, but this was pleasantly surprising. I really enjoyed this story and recommend it.
I loved both of these books from beginning to end. The writing and story pull you in and I get all the feels. I'm excited to read more from this world and can't wait for her to release what she has for us next. Highly recommend!
Totally enjoyed reading these, the first one went into to much detail on literally everything so I had to keep skipping a lot but book 2 was awesome. I would receive this book for supernatural lovers..
Loved the follow-up book on Alora and Colton. What a lovely couple! I like how all the main characters in this series have their own interesting backgrounds and cool yet sometimes tender personalities. Thumbs up!
The sotry was interesting, and the approach to the lore was definitely fun. There were a few inconsistencies in the story line and spelling and grammar edits are definitely needed.
I blew through both books in 3 days. The writing was wonderful, the characters fleshed out in such a way I couldn't help but gather drawn in, and the story was never redundant or felt rushed. I cannot wait for more!
this story did really well it now they placed things as well as how they integrated the people and things great story all around cant wait to see the rest of it
