Honor death and decay deities through a compost ritual for Samhain. I was skimming this by halfway through, to be honest. There were some snippets of interesting info but so much of this was so poorly edited, it just lost me.
I only made it half-way through. It’s so Wiccan. I thought it would at least be educational, but it seems like they are just recycling the same information every year, especially in the color magic section. I don’t see how this is worth reading year after year if nothing new is added. It’s boring and not worth the buy.
I read the yearly version of this almanac every year. I love the recipe and craft recommendations for each Sabbat. The active at the beginning of every Sabbat is great too.
Definitely not a bad book by any means. The information would be great for beginners. For the advanced, there may not be much. I wish there had been different authors for each section. Instead it is the same writer of recipes, same writer for astrology, same writer for the rituals, and so on.
There are lots of great ideas concerning crafts, rituals, colour magic, traditions, astrological occurrences, recipes, and more in this handy guide. I highlighted the evergreen content to use as inspiration in the future even though the book is customized for 2023.
A great overview of all the forthcoming Sabbats, complete with astrological information that is currently over my head... I will be buying the 2024 Almanac when the time comes!
