In Our Element: Using the Five Elements as Soul Medicine to Unleash Your Personal Power

Rate this book
Immerse Yourself in the Wisdom and Healing Power of the Elements All five elements live within you, and experiences like heartache, anxiety, and procrastination are signs that one of them is out of balance. This beginner-friendly book introduces you to each of the elements―Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal―and shows you how to use them to improve your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. In Our Element weaves together Eastern medicine, Western psychology, Indigenous traditions, and African ancestral principles of spirituality. With a practical approach that incorporates journal prompts, flower essences, yoga poses, and music, Lindsay Fauntleroy teaches you how to tap into the five elements for a balanced and empowered life that aligns with your soul's calling.

This book is magic! It is full of wisdom and specific exercises from diverse cultures and modalities to help you identify where you are stuck or stagnant (or where you are thriving!). It is surprisingly easy to absorb given all the information it relays, but the author is very skillful at presenting the material in a narrative that is relatable, compassionate, humorous and contemporary. The exercises are unique because they include guided reflection, yoga poses, music, and flower essence formulas--just to name a few. You can read all the way through or pick a section that is calling to you.

I read this book through, but I think it's better to dive in a little at a time, refer to things, pull out and practice. She incorporates SO many different things into this book - acupuncture, five elements, flower essences, yoga poses. Lovely book.
