We are living in the golden age where true crime content has seen a huge rise and is gaining a lot of popularity, whether it is through movies, TV shows or books, hence naturally, there has been resurgence in the mystery novels as well.

However, the downside to this acclaimed novels getting reinvigoration is that there are so many of them out there that chosing a good quality one becomes quite a tedious task.

‘Bones in the Blue Barrel’ by Dr Ajay Kar is one such book which definitely has the ability to stand out from its numerous contemporaries owing to its ability to keep the attention of the readers engrossed and gripped through out the story.

The book begins in Bheemili Police Station where two boys from Sukhna village come with the news of a shocking discovery which was found in a concrete filled drum. Inspector Raghu Ram, who normally does not like to take cases which have run cold is immediately intrigued by this latest one, and he decides to further investigate in to the matter.

And thus begins the journey of our Police Inspector along with his subordinate to find what actually has happened at the scene and how the events must have shaped up or unfolded, leading to the current situation.

The Barrel Case, as it has been called in the novel, was quite an interesting read and definitely had some good mystery build up, hence I am going to give this book FIVE BARREL STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a thrilling story it is. The suspense was maintained till the last without any miss. At first I thought Why the characters are being so much dragged but the I understood why the characters are analyzed so much.
I must say maintaining the mystery till the last and then the ending would take such a turn.
At every chapter I think that he must have killed him, she must have killed him but at the end the story such a turn that you will feel sorry at the same time and raged at the same time.

- Bones In The Blue Barrel is a crime-thriller read featuring a strong main character named Raghu Ram who is an inspector at the Bheemili Police Station in the Sukhna village. Two boys come to the police station one fine morning with a baffling case. The two had found someone's bones in a concrete-filled barrel nearby a lake. Raghu Ram takes their statement and begins his investigations. A forensic report conducted suggests it is a homicide case and the event happened nearly two years back. However, the absence of leads and missing reports of the deceased leads him to a dead end.

- Taking it up as a challenge, Raghu reviews the case and dives deep into it, looking for hints and proofs in unlikely places. The case leads him and his team to mysterious places and suspicious people. The book continues the story to reveal the mystery to the readers.

- It is an exhilarating read. Right from the beginning, the author had me hooked on the story. The portrayal of the inspector and the sub-inspector is amazing. They are shown to be strong and intelligent officers. The plot is very unique and intriguing. It was really fun to read the story to its conclusion. It has interesting twists and turns.

- It is a well-paced book. I really liked how the author connects all the dots and the loose ends towards the end of the book giving us an unpredictable yet satisfying ending. Overall, it is a great suspense-thriller read.

SKELETON IN THE BARREL

How are your guys handling post Diwali blues? talking of blues look what I got here!!!
A murder mystery!!
So the week has started on a very very hectic note, trust me my co-authors and publications will definitely be mad tomorrow if I don't submit the manuscript on time and etc etc, you get it.

But regardless I have as usual found time to read up something.
So without wasting any time.

The story revolves around two characters, Inspector Raghuram and sub inspector Balaji Prasad, both of them carrying out their service in Bheemili police station ( located about a few kilometres away from Vishakhapatnam) are reached out by two frightened boys who have found a human skull in their barrel.

Given the narration and pace of the book you'll find the characters so very familiar to Shrikant and Talpade from the Family Man (subject to the condition you have watched it)

Regardless, further forensic investigation and toxicology findings suggest that the case is two years old.

Being one with major twists and on the verge of becoming a cold case, Raghu has this challenging nerve that will make him come throughout the book as an action packed character.

Even if you're able to predict the events or culprit throughout the plot the narration and especially the depth and intensity at which the forensics and toxicology has been elaborated, those things really did keep me hooked .

So definitely was worth my time and definition a quality break!

Happy Reading ✨✨✨

Genre : Thriller/mystery/suspense

Review : as the title suggests, the beginning of the book itself is mysterious, the very first event is mysterious, it kept me hooked up from the first chapter and I went on a rollercoaster ride of 20 chapters each with another surprise! I must say it'll definitely surprise you and Give you different feelings, I myself felt eager, yet confused. The story is very fast and you won't get bored in any single page, infact when I picked this book, I thought it'll take me 2-3 days to complete it but I just couldn't stop because I needed to know what's going on! And so I read it in one sitting. The characters are described very well and so it was easy to imagine it. I was impressed how I didn't even realise what page I'm reading and for how long I've been reading this book until I finished it. It was so captivating and I recommend this book to all the fiction lovers and crime/mystery/thriller fans.

Narration : the author has carefully chosen the words that are easy to understand but fun to read, the writing style is fancy and sweet. The way the writer has narrated each scene with twists and turns is mind-blowing.

My ratings - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm back with a murder mystery again guys! Been a while now. So lets dive into this!

The story opens in a police station situated in Bheemli, Visakhapatnam. Two boys from a near by village that comes under the Bheemli juridiction are here to file a complaint and give statement regarding its details.

So begin with their introduction and go on with their story of how while trying to play cricket in a ground near the lake they realised that there was something foul smelling nearby. Initially thinking that it was either some bird or animal that must have been dead and assuming that the smell would eventually go away they left it as it is. However the odour kept increasing day by day and then they searched for it to bury it.

However, they were in for a shock as they found that the concrete filled barrel had what looked like a human skull in it. They report it to the village head who asked them to report ot immediately at the police station.

Now, this entite thing is narrated to Inspector RaghuRam and SubInspector Balaji Prasad. Here on they go through investigation of all sorts. The forenscic and toxicoloy tests declare that the murder must have been made two years ago.

Realising that the case could turn into a cold case the police officers buckle trying harder to solve the case. Raghuram and balaji are in for a good turn of events and twists.

The story though predictable at many places is still well narrated and goes on in a medium pace. The medical aspects in the story are well researched d very accurate. That strengthens the plot. The book would be great for a beginner in this genre.

Also another point to be mentioned is the action packed scenes that we get to read regarding our police officers. Thats well narrated and quite enjoyable too.

The book "Bones In The Blue Barrel" is a murder-mystery by Author - Dr. Ajay Kar.

This story is set in the place named Bheemli which is twenty five kilometer away from Visakhapatnam. The story begins with two boys visiting the police station.
They both witnessed skeleton bones and skull in a concrete filled drum which they found while playing cricket near that place. People from the village say that the place where the barrel was found, was unused for many months. But because of the rain, foul smell was very high which lead to the discovery of a huge mystery.

So the boys decided to inform about this to the police inspector Raghuram.
Being intrigued by this case, Inspector Raghuram and his sub-inspector start the investigation immediately. The reports suggests that the death must have happened two years back.
With fast moving findings, suspense unravels one by one leading to many different factors. Many close circle people were the prime suspects. A lot of depth investigation happened and then....the end.
Did they find out the mystery? Who was the murderer? Why did they kill the victim? Read and find your answers.

This book has twenty chapters with equal measures of thrill and suspense in each. The book cover was eye catchy and the narrative was professional. The mystery which was the main element of this book kept me hooked up till the end. It has interesting elements to keep us on edge. It is a fast paced and short read. I loved the way author brought the true incidents in a realistic manner in his fictional story. There were many characters, but author had clearly characterized each with details. I would recommend this book to all mystery-thriller lovers out there. Overall it was an intriguing read.

The true mastery and the very essence or beauty of the best mystery novels is that they latch and prey on the readers most primitive and prominent human instinct to look for answers to questions.

It can feel a little unsettling, or rather maddening to not know what is there that is going to come or happen next.

But even if all these above things are true, the readers yet still love it when a crime thriller is impossible to predict. Even better are the circumstances where the mystery book has us on the edge of their seat until the very last second.

‘Bones in the Blue Barrel’ by author Ajay Kar is a gripping thriller that is inspired by true events, which is bound to make us anticipate about who the culprit is and the events that took place.

Inspector Raghu Ram is someone who always likes to push himself beyond his limits and the cases which do not offer much happenstance do not appeal to him.

However, when he gets to know about a concrete filled drum, his intrigue is elevated and what happens next as he makes the discoveries pertaining to the case is the entire plot and narrative of the story.

The author has done an excellent job as we see that every word was chosen carefully, every sentence was crafted in a very thoughtful manner and every paragraph was brimming with meaning and purpose to further the story.

This book was different in a sense that it not only holds the attention of its readers right from the first page of the story, but along with it, it also has the ability to command our attention.

The readers will be so engrossed in solving the mystery of The Barrel Case that it will be difficult to put it down. Hence I am going to give this book FIVE BLUE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Life's strange and at times, thoroughly unpredictable. Ever come across a life where you see nothing other than blood spread all over the floor you walk over? While on one end this book speaks of things happening in the world to be disturbing enough to a person who's got to unveil a series of secrets yet stuck at square one, on the very other end,
this book holds up unnumbered amount of emotions, classy form of narration, commendable form of plotline which is executed in a well manner while
the characterization holds a few minus points which could have actually been improvised. The concept of the book is simple yet makes the reader stay engaged in the whirpool of secrets to know how things in actual could be.

There were moments where I felt the pace fell apart while the story was on a run which are minute yet essential things to be taken care of, from the writer's end.

A race to find out the mystery behind the murders is a race against time which I feel would make the readers easily visualise things although the length of the book demands quite an attention.

Over-all performance of the book in terms of appearance with its cover page built up in a way which could pass a hint on the story whereas the title holds its uniqueness well indeed. A selection read which can be opted for once and pretty much works as a companion over the weekend.

BONES IN THE BLUE BARREL:
Is a crime thriller storybook. The book starts with an old case. Two boys come to the bheemli police which is situated in sukhna village. They find bones in the blue barrel is filled with concrete found near the lake. The Inspector of that police station is officer Raghu Ram. By forensic report, they found that the event of killing a person was 2 years back from work.

Because it was an old murder there was no witness nor any lead which gives information about it. So Raghu Ram takes it as a challenge to solve this mystery but what happened next? What he'll do? Who will be the murderer? To know everything you should read this book by yourself.

This book contains 20 thrilling suspense chapters. How their team will solve the mystery, what they'll find, amazing twists and turns! The storyline was intriguing. Their way of finding leads was interesting. Inspector and sub-inspector are shown strong and intelligent officers!

This book is very much interesting, as we have read many crime thriller books but when I was reading this book. I found something unique to know what it is you should give it a read. The author did a great job and I appreciate the author's work.

Bones in the Blue Barrel by Dr. Ajay Kar is a murder mystery inspired by true events. I was really intrigued by the title and the blurb and the fact that it is based on true events.

The story start with few people finding a blue barrel with a skull visible in it on a secluded lake side while playing. The case become sensation in a short time as it was unique. Will they be able to find the identity of the victim? Will the justice be prevail? What's mystery this barrel contains?

The story shows the journey of finding the victim identity and the different twists and mystery it kept unveiling throughout the investigation. The incorporation of forensic science with police investigation and the usage of many modern technology in finding the culprit as refreshing specially because it also shows the growth in investigate work as it's inspired by true story.

The language was pretty simple. The narration style needed a little work as it wasn't engaging enough for mystery/thriller. The plot and climax was good although the characters needed better description as it wasn't connecting/engaging enough. It was a good crime mystery read and the climax was pretty decent too.

📙:Bones in the blue barrel
✍️: Dr. Ajay Kar

"There is no such thing called perfect murder. There may be many unsolved cases. With each crime, the murderer leaves behind a clue ". - Do you believe in this statement ???

The book starts with a chill scene. A blue barrel abandoned for years in the middle of forest is found to have dead body. The police investigates the scene and finds out a bolt in the skeleton indicating the person had fracture.

With this small piece of information, here is a chart leading to murderer.

👆Investigation with bolt manufacturer

👆Hospitals which bought the bolts

👆 Scrutinize the list of operations done with those bolts 2 yrs back.

👆Get the list of patients

👆Check whether any of them are missing.

📍The investigation scenes were fast pacing. When the person being murdered is revealed, we get different dimensions leading to murder.

📍The end was unpredictable and I felt sorry for few protagonists who suffered because of other's deed.

📍Faced paced, unpredictable , gripping murder case based to true events.

A few children while playing find out a human skull in an abandoned blue barrel packed with cement and concrete. The case reaches Inspector Raghu Ram, and he sets out to solve the dead-end case, a two-year-old homicide, with no evidence or even a missing case reported.

What attracted me to the book is of course the title. And the cover seemed promising too. However, to be honest, the book couldn’t live up to my expectations. The plot is set in a gripping premise with an intriguing case but as it moves forward it somehow misses that thrilling element that fuels the curiosity.

Unlike the usual cliches, there isn’t any superhero or exceptionally sharp investigators or criminals. Inspector Raghu Ram and his assistants all appear as normal cops with many limitations. Even the culprit seemed reasonable.

The language is lucid and the narration is good too but could have been more engrossing. It may not be a good pick for ardent crime thriller lovers but would be a great choice for beginners.

Raghu Ram, inspector of Bheemili police station was informed by two men from his village about their discovery of human bones in a blue barrel filled with concrete. The inspector being intrigued takes up the case and starts investigating with his subordinate. Forensics stated it to be a homicide case that occurred two years back. Even though the inspector didn't get any substantial evidences and leads, he delved deeper into the case to unveil what was being hidden from view.

First of all, I genuinely appreciate the author's narration of the story. Written in a simple language and lucid writing, the author had intricately weaved the details of each of the characters that fit correctly to the plot. The characters were well developed and the plot is really intriguing.

The book had an ample amount of thrill that keeps you on edge till the end. The author managed to connect the dots to give the book a wholesome feeling. You won't see the twists and turns coming and it was really fun to read the book. It kept me hooked till the end. The pace of the book was medium but fast enough to keep you engaged.

Narrated with the right dose of twists, mysteries and thrills, the book is so gripping that it will keep the readers engaged till the very end. The book is a short read and can be finished in one sitting.

Bones in the Blue Barrel by Dr. Ajay Kar is a murder mystery set in the suburbs of Vishakhapatnam. The story begins when two boys from Sukhna Village come to Bheemili police station and complain about a skeleton in a blue barrel. Then, the thrilling and twisted journey of officer Raghu Ram and his subordinates towards solving the layered case of this murder.
Edgy and provocative, Bones in the Blue Barrel is a sensational murder mystery that depicts the cunning minds of criminals. This exciting page-turner with its compelling storyline is one of those books you finish in one go. one fact I found very interesting in the plot is the character sketch of police officers. The author realistically portrays them with limitations and basic human instincts.
Though the book is full of intense and dramatic scenes, I found the narration stretchy and repetitive. Apart from this, it is a skillfully written chilling story that will entertain everyone who relishes thrillers with suspense elements.

📍Book:- Bones in the blue barrel

📍Author:- Dr Ajay Kar

📍Genre:- Crime- Fiction

📍First give a big round of applause for the author, he has done such a great job by keeping in his mind the twist and turns. You hardly get bored or find any cliches throughout the book.

📍Book has an engrossing storyline that keeps you hooked up till the end.

📍By the title of the book yes, you can easily understand the story but it's hard to visualize the climax.

📍The protagonist of the story is a cop named Raghu Ram, the in-charge of the Bheemili police station. He's allocated with the moratorium homicide case of a man called Sukhna. The mess here is that the post-term testimonies ascertain the massacre to be an accident!

📍Oblivious, Inspector Raghu Ram is censured with the responsibility to unravel a murder paradox. What transpired subsequent? Will Raghu Ram be triumphant in grabbing the grip of the criminal?

📍Overall, the book is a considerable suspense-thriller read.

So the story start on August , 2018 , both the boys came and started complaining . The case is then taken up by Raghu Ram. In the whole story one can see lots of twist and turns in every part. Dr. Bhagat helps a lot to Raghu Ram to find everything.

What I loved the most is that the author has tried best to maintain the curiousity among the readers to know how the bones are been found in the lakes. At last we found the case fair.

How would one bear the sight of violence while the entire life has been peaceful and quiet like that of a life spent near the seashore. Well, this book is quite a different one right from the title which delivers the hint of upcoming series of suspense in the book where every page could be a secret unveiled. I could very well relate with the turns the book holds in its narration which again is a thing rich in class with plotline very well executed. The thrill and the experience this book offers, is of a competitive level with its pace being maintained well indeed for the reader to like the concept used in the book by the author. There are multiple characters in the book and each of them, somehow serves their purpose well and makes the reader adapt the read as a better one when compared to the others in the same genre listing. I liked the read and the manner in which things have been lined up.
