The highly anticipated sequel to Bits & Pieces , the psychological thriller that kept readers up at night.
For the past five years, Tessa has lived a normal life, the kind she always dreamed of. One without her gift and the flashes that tormented her for as long as she can remember.
All of that changes on a winter’s day when, out of nowhere, the flashes return. Only this time they’re different.
Along with the flashes, Tessa makes a gruesome discovery on her property. Images haunt her. Voices from beyond the grave plead for her help. She is thrust into a quest to find and stop a murderer. Time is running out.
Tessa scrambles to fit all the pieces and parts of this hideous puzzle together before someone she loves becomes the next victim.
Pieces & Parts is a spine-tingling psychological thriller with a touch of the supernatural that will keep you guessing and turning the pages until its chilling end.
Tessa is back and she’s married to Jonas. When the remains of a child are found on their property, the FBI begins to suspect them in a series of child killings.
Her flashes are also back, but different, and she sees and feels the gruesome past deaths of these children as she tries to figure out who the killer is, and how to stop him before he kills again. Taunt thriller that will keep you reading late into the night.
A fantastic continuance to Tessa's story. I was absolutely blown away by how well this story just sucks you in from the beginning and holds on tight until the very end. You will not be disappointed by the twists and turns that happen. This is one of my favorite reads of the year!
I flew through this book! Even as a busy single mom I was able to read it in less than two days, I couldn't put it down. Pieces & Parts is the sequel to Bits & Pieces, and it is just as good as the first one!
Tessa hasn't had a flash in almost 5 years. Her and Jonah have married and are settling into a comfortable life together. Shortly after they find out they are expecting their first baby, Tessa's flashes return, only there's a new color that she has never experienced before. These flashes lead to the discovery of a child's bones in the stream on Tessa and Jonah's property.
With the help of her best friend Chandra and her daughter Lilly, Tessa and Jonah work to unravel the mystery before its too late. As more remains are found, they race the clock to stop another serial killer before someone they all love becomes the next victim.
This book was so hard to put down, and kept me on the edge of my seat! Another 5 star read from Dawn Hosmer!! If you like thrillers with a sprinkle of the paranormal, you'll definitely want to add this series to your TBR!
An incredible sequel to Bits and Pieces. I was lucky to read an arc copy of this book before general release and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. It’s an immersive leap into Tessa’s colourful world again, with twists and turns aplenty. The character development was wonderful. It was a gripping storyline and one I highly recommend if you’ve already read Bits and Pieces.
Gripping, fast-paced, and taut with tension, Pieces and Parts brings all the feels.
I'm a huge fan of Hosmer's writing, and I've been waiting for a long time for this sequel to come out. And whew, was the wait well worth it. Pieces and Parts is a heart-pounding thrill of a ride. Imagine, if you can, touching another person and being able to feel their joy, pain, suffering, and loss... whether you want to or not. Now, imagine actually EXPERIENCING those things with them -- as BOTH victim and perpetrator. When Tessa's flashes return this time, they return with a vengeance, and it all starts with the remains of a young boy being found on her and her husband's property. The race to stop this particular serial killer makes for a tense read with pages flipping as fast as I could because I needed Tessa to find the answers, especially before she had to experience the horrifying, painful death of someone very close to her.
In Bits and Pieces (if you haven't read it, do yourself a favor and read it now), Tessa's flashes were a little different. In Pieces and Parts, she actually experiences things my mind cannot even fathom, and she experiences them from every side. It is a grueling ride of "hurry up, Tessa" as you flip through the pages.
So, I absolutely recommend, and I highly suggest making sure you have some time carved out because you aren't going to want to be interrupted while on this thrill ride of a read.
Dawn did it again! This psychological thriller had me hanging at the edge of every page! Check your triggers always. Tessas journey was beautifully wrapped up in this book with so many twist and turns!
This fast-paced thriller will have you finishing this novel in one sitting! Hosmer has done it again! Readers are reunited with the characters from Bits & Pieces to solve another string of murders. Tessa's gift has returned just as her life is gotten back to normal. She's happily married with a baby on the way when the flashes of a young murdered boy begins her journey once again. With the help of her husband Jonas, her best friend, Chandra, and Chandra's daughter Lily, the mystery of several missing children begins to unravel with a startling ending.
I loved the concept/idea of the first novel, and I enjoyed the sequel!. This is one to add to your TBR!
More twisty, turny goodness. Once again, the author has us experiencing it all through the main character, Tessa. Everything I expect & love in a psychological thriller series.
Hosmer delivers a terrific sequel to Bits & Pieces. This one kept me reading way past the time I intended to go to bed. In typical Hosmer fashion, she also delivers some outstanding twists and turns along the way. I tore through the last hundred pages of this book, because I couldn’t sleep without knowing how it ended.
First off, it’s important to say—if it’s been a while since you read Bits & Pieces (it had been at least 2 years for me), you’ll be able to jump right back into Tessa’s life. Dawn Hosmer did a great job sprinkling in reminders of what happened in B&P. Plus, this really is a standalone, and you don’t have to recall all the details of Book 1 for Book 2 to make sense.
Okay, on to the book!
Dawn knows how to tell a story! I loved the characters. Super cool to get to know Chaundra and Jonas better and to meet Micah—I thoroughly enjoyed the secondary characters in this one. Tessa is engaging, and I know she’s fictional, but I felt such empathy for her!
There’s great tension throughout, an unexpected twist at the end, a villain who’s both creepy and sad, and even a bit of romance.
Solid 4.5 stars for this one. A worthy follow-up to Bits & Pieces.
I read “Bits & Pieces” by Dawn Hosmer when it first came out and found it to be very creative with a driving plot that kept you reading, stringing you along with just the right amount of tension. So when I saw she had a second book in the series available, I jumped at the chance to read it.
And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Tessa returns as the main character, one whose gift allows her to see flashes of the future or past, each flash accompanied my colors that relate to a type of memory. However, unlike before, Tess is having flashes without having to touch someone.
The flashes begin, accompanied by a previously unseen color, green, when Tess discovers the remains of a young boy in the creek near the home where she and her husband live. This starts her down a path of trying to find the young boy’s killer, not just to find justice for all of the killer’s victims, but to keep them from striking again. Because the next one could very well be someone very close to her life and heart.
As Tess struggles with the visions, she draws many people into her whirlwind. And while most are willing to help her in any way they can, the pressure also drives a wedge between Tess and the most important person in her life: her husband.
Will Tess find the other victims and bring peace to their families? Can they find the killer before they strike again? Will her marriage survive the strain put on it as Tess tries to balance all the demands on her? And oh yeah, how will Tess manage all of this while nearing the end of her pregnancy?
I definitely enjoyed this book and recommend it for anyone who enjoys fast-paced thrillers with a good touch of love and humanity. You don’t have to read the first book in the series before “Pieces & Parts,” but it would definitely add some depth and color, pun intended, to this one.
Tessa had a nice break but now it’s over. She thought she was going to live a calm, normal life after a long stretch without her strange ability. Well, it’s back with a vengeance— and new rules. About to become a mother, the last thing Tess needs is visions of and from dead children. On top of this disturbing development is the fact that the flashes/visions are hurting a living child close to Tessa, and might lead to death for another.
Dawn Hosmer has a unique way of giving you Hitchockesque hints to lure you into the world of the story, stringing you along with her skilled storytelling and lovable characters — before you realize you’re reading the stuff of (entertaining, fantastic) nightmares. Her writing has a distinctive bend to it; pleasant and comfortable — but also full of blood and guts. Before you know it you’re knee-deep in green flashes and horrifying pieces and parts.
Pieces & Parts perfectly continues as the sequel to Bits & Pieces. We meet Tessa, the main character, again after a number of years have passed and we see her settled into married life, but from the very first page the reader is gripped with the understanding of the return of her unusual gift. We follow her obsession in wanting to find a child-killer through many fascinating psychic and psychological episodes. The story becomes an emotional roller coaster of desperation and horror with a thread of tension building throughout. Tessa is a believable character (I cared about her) and her relationships with others bring everything back to the reality of life and the love that importantly binds them together. A very satisfying read with such a clever central exploration of Tessa’s unusual gift.
A world made of vibrant Pieces and Parts by WickedWolf
Being back in Tessa’s world was amazing and frightening. To be so consumed by an ability and yet so stead fast, had me clinging to the edge of my seat. Murders, mayhem, and motherhood all rolled into a vibrant heartfelt world that touched my very soul. A definite must read for anyone who like psychological thrillers. Honestly, I hope Dawn gives her readers one more( *spolier alert*). I have to know about Zoe.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Pieces and Parts is the sequel to Bits and Pieces. A disturbing psychological thriller with more twists than the first book. Dawn Hosmer has a writing style that leaves so much to the imagination the reader isn’t sure what to believe. I had questions throughout the whole book. It’s an edge of your seat read that you must experience.
Dawn Hosmer has done it again with her follow-up to Bits & Pieces! Pieces & Parts is both cleverly written and disturbingly chilling - the perfect recipe for a sink-your-teeth-into psychological thriller!
I highly recommend this book to anyone craving a plot twist (or two).

I was a lucky ARC reader of this follow up to Bits & Pieces. Just like Bits, this book grabs you immediately and takes you on a ride. I read this in 2 days because I didn’t want to stop reading! It’s so well written and keeps you guessing.
Earlier this year I read Dawn Hosmer’s amazing book, ‘Bits and Pieces’. It captured my attention like no book had before. When I found out she was releasing a sequel, I stood in virtual line, chomping at the bit to get my hands on it. She didn’t disappoint. It’s been five years since the events in Bits and Pieces and Tessa has adjusted to a happy, normal life. Having married the man of her dreams and come to grips with her gift and the events of the past, Tessa is content. Then suddenly the flashes reappear. She’s immediately thrown back into a world of doubt and suspicion. A world where there are very few people she can trust. Only now the police are looking at her. How can she explain what she isn’t sure of herself? Will she end up in jail or worse as she tries to find this new killer? And why are the flashes back? To find out she’ll have to rely on her closest friends to help her sort out this mystery before the police haul her away. Once again, I found myself addicted to reading this book until my eyes refused to stay open. Ms. Hosmer has written another excellent pageturner. If you like mysteries with a slice of paranormal, this series should be at the top of your list.
First off, I miss Dawn Hosmer so much and I wish she was still with us so I could tell her how much I enjoyed this book.
This was an amazing conclusion to the Bits and Pieces duology. I really enjoyed seeing Tessa back to solving mysteries and catching murderers. Definitely check the content warnings because like the first book, this can be a little intense. I had a sneaking suspicion about the big reveal at the end, but it was still a fun ride along the way. I listened to the audiobook and it was so enjoyable!
I loved getting to see Tessa in the future and her journey and how far she came. I loved seeing her relationship with Chaundra continue and her husband, Jonas. They are adorable together. The murder mystery had me anxious and wanting it solved. Such a unique concept with this duet and I enjoyed the creativity.
This was a good sequel to Bits & Pieces it also was a fast-paced read. Everytime I had to put it down I had the urge to pick it right back up & continue to read. Tessa, she is now married to Jonas and her flashes did return when some remains of a child were found on their property but this time her flashes are different. I thought this was sad with the flashes about all the murders and all it also made me cry towards the end. I don't want to go into anymore detail about this book so I don't give spoilers to the people who hasn't read it yet. I highly recommend you give this book a read. You won't be disappointed I really enjoyed reading this book it was a really good read❤❤
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Just as I thought I had it figured out something more happened or developed! Very, very good read. Couldn't put it down.
What I Did Like: -Mystery is satisfying. You’re wondering who’s responsible and what will happen all along, you’re picking up the clues, this one is a great mystery! -Characters. They’re all back from the first one and you’ll love the way they’re coming together in this one. Relationships are deeper, friendships are amazing, and the kids are just awesome as always. -Ending. As with the first one I think the ending works. You get your answers, the solution is reasonable, and the characters are left on a nice note. Love the way this one played out!
Who Should Read This One: -Fans of mystery/thrillers who want something a little different! The addition of a character who is not a detective and cannot control the messages she’s receiving is interesting, but the case is definitely one that will grab your attention. -Paranormal fantasy fans. This isn’t your typical gift -- but it’s explored in amazing ways in this duology that will really get your attention.
My Rating: 5 Stars. This is a highly recommended sequel to wrap up a highly recommended duology.
“Atonement Heartbreak Seven to go Come Home Sacrifice.”
For the past five years, Tessa has lived a normal life without the pain of her powers. She was able to see colourful flashes whenever she touched someone. This could be good, bad memories, even their futures and their deaths.
Distance from her painful gift has been wonderful but one day on her property, Tessa makes a gruesome discovery. Images and spine chilling voices from beyond the grave haunt her and they won’t stop. She must find the murderer.
When I found out that Ms Hosmer was writing a sequel to Bits & Pieces, I was really excited to read the next chapter of Tessa’s life. It didn’t disappoint and it must have been stressful to pen a sequel. If you’re looking for a wonderful blend of a psychological thriller, horror and the supernatural, check this one out. You don’t have to read the first book but I highly recommend you start at the beginning of Tessa’s journey first.
In Bits and Pieces (Book One) we met Tessa and her special abilities. That story took me on a thrilling, terrifying ride. This sequel picks up her story 5 years later. She is happy, married, and believes her gift is gone, when suddenly it reappears, but in a different way. The new version of her gift leads her to find the remains of a child near her home. This event leads Tess, her husband, and friends on a journey to identify a child murderer. I found the sequel less terrifying that Book One, but the mystery more nuanced. There are other things at stake affecting Tessa's loved ones. I love the characters in this series and I really enjoyed the story. This series is perfect for those who like psycological/paranormal thrillers.
Predictable in the twist. Don’t like being inside of the killer’s head, but this one was more sympathetic than the last. Really loved the counseling parts and showing what healthy relationships and support systems look like. Feel a bit cheated that we didn’t experience the full pregnancy and it skipped around quite a bit, but felt every bit of her delivery, especially the pushing. Good read over all.
I’m kind of disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this book as I remember really liking the first. Maybe I just caught on to the big reveal too early, because the whole book I felt like the main character was just acting stupid for not noticing what was obviously happening. That’s mostly where the bad rating came from- because I was just feeling so annoyed that the main character took like 300 pages to figure out what I had figured out within the first few chapters.
