My second time reading this book - Don Aslett is an incredible person in terms of getting things DONE and managing things well - which is why I love his books. His life's accomplishments speak for themselves. This book is primarily for home managers but it applies to all areas of life management - it's a very motivating book with a lot of great principles for management. Sometimes I just wish he had a little more practical insight of "this is exactly how to do it and make it work for you" because that's more of how I think But regardless, it's a great book and will give anyone a good kick in the pants in regards to managing your life better.
I picked this up at the Library when I was getting a book I had on hold. I was seriously on the verge of a panic attack juggling a million things at once. I walked in the library and this was displayed on the shelf right in my line of sight. I've been reading all of Don Aslett's housecleaning books-and love them so I checked it out. I was a little disappointed. It seemed a bit like a seminar spiel. I think for home and personal management Seven Habits for Highly Effective People resonated with my personality much more. It has good information though. And it did make me think I need to get rid of more "stuff" to simplify my life.
It was nice to read a different view on time management. Don Aslett has a practical, no-nonsense take on getting things done and also owning things and the stuff that we have to do on a daily basis. I didn't really care for the set up of the book. I felt like it could have been organized a little better, but it didn't affect the content of the book. There were some sections that I just skimmed over. I borrowed this from the library... we'll see if I feel I need to go back to it for reference. If so, I will just buy my own copy. I will be implementing some of the ideas as well.
Don Aslett is a master at multi-tasking, and in this book he provides insight to getting more done, and he provides tips to getting more work accomplished.
