Cleaning can only be so riveting of a concept but as a pet holder I was curious how different cleaning products and strategies have changed. The book was extremely thorough in tackling all sorts of pet messes. I’m not sure I’ll retain any of what I read but otherwise it was a good read.
Naturally, given the fact that the publication date is 1988, much of the information is out of date. It's packed full of info about mail-order pamphlets you can get for more information on various topics, products that are no longer on the market, and prices that have changed greatly with 30 years of inflation. Few of us have the resources or inclination to set up a full-scale professional cleaning station for our pets or the desire to disinfect everything they touch. That said, there are some good tips in here, and I suspect the 2005 edition is better. I was given this book when my in-laws were decluttering to read before it gets donated, but I would definitely go for the newer edition if I were picking up a copy for myself.
