Okay…I don’t like doing this, and maybe part of this is my fault, so I am taking partial responsibility. Honestly…I just came off a bunch of really back to back awesome books, this was bound to happen…but the last one was an extreme mind-fuck and I’m wondering if that isn’t part of the cause for why this book didn’t work for me. Mentally, I just don’t think I was connecting with the book.
I like the premise…I really liked the opening scene (it’s what pulled me in and made me be like hey…maybe I need to read this one)…I really liked Brady…and I really wanted to like Sadie…but it just wasn’t there. I felt like I was getting all of the facts but none of the emotions. Like I was being told what was happen but nothing was tying me to the events or making me really even care enough. The way she described Brady was awesome, but I never felt Sadie’s desire or feelings towards him. I don’t know how to explain it…the whole time I was reading I couldn’t figure out what the big deal was, I knew she obviously had a secret and she needed to guard herself, but I still need to be able to clue into her and connect to her somehow. And I didn’t.
There were also a few ’duh’ moments for me, like a little redundancy and kind of wondering why we were being told the obvious…then a few minor things just didn’t add up at all and the point that finally broke me was when her roommate walked in and decides now is the time to bare all her secrets. It just didn’t seem realistic, it was too forced. Also, the writing was very staccato and fell flat for me, probably because of the lack of emotions I was already feeling.
I take full responsibility for why I didn’t like this book…I do want to give it another shot maybe when I’m out of the crazy head-space that I am in and when I can try and connect with the characters again…I really hope it was just me.

I'm not normally into softer books like this but my sister-in-law has been hounding me for absolute ages to read the series or, at the very least, the first book and so I did (thus the super late review but so be it lol). As expected, it wasn't to my liking and that's not just because this isn't my usual genre, either.
I won't downplay Michelle Lynn's eloquence by any means! Man, that girl can put together some great scenes and, Jesus, is she heavy with the literary devices. I couldn't get over how cliche the entirety of this book really is, though, and that ruined much of it for me. I definitely liked the beginning and the whole concept of Sadie's character As soon as the small bit of her previous college experience was revealed, I was all in! You don't read stuff like that every day (or maybe you do but I don't so I was taken by it) so I trucked on. As the story began to unfold, my heart began to sink. Great start but no finish; there was no follow-through. It was a good idea turned into a classic plot we've all read before. Don't get me wrong, I know that endings are limited; there's happy, unhappy, okay, and then the casual to be continued, there's not much to choose from and I get that. But must the entire book be so predictable that I was rolling my eyes each time one of them spoke? It got to the point where I was highlighting and making notes like a mad woman, angry and just plain irked by the cliche lines. And when I say cliche, I mean cliche. Lynn definitely wrote us a nice, classic romance here. We have a damsel in denial/distress, a knight in scuffed-but-slightly-shiny armor rushing to her rescue, random explosions of drama that makes no sense

Like I said before, she has a way with words and can definitely paint a scene and the start of the book was awesome! But, as also previously stated, the originality died off and it was almost like she finished the book because she had to or something, not because the desire to write it was still there. I still have a lot of holes and questions in my mind and some of these may be answered in later books but I've yet to come across any answers and, to my understanding, each new book is based on a new character so, that being said, I think Sadie's book is literally closed at this point. When I wasn't flinching at overused lines and over-the-top scenes , I was apperciating the cuteness of the ill-matched pair. Hard-rocker falling for the bad-girl-turned-good? It was a nice balance, I have to say.
I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unfortunately, nor would I read it again. However, I do think Michelle Lynn has a talent for making characters you could easily fall in love with. I can't tell you who I was swooning over more between Brady, Grant, Trey, and Rob! She has the ability to make even the biggest a-hole side characters seem irristible and intriguing so I really hope I get to read a Rob book soon! I have started the second book, Let Me In, but that's a completely separate review. If you're interested in reading Michelle Lynn's Don't Let Go, I would suggest that you go in with a heads-up: it's fairly predictable and your enjoyment is not guaranteed

I really enjoyed reading "Don't let Go" and although heart breaking at times, I was glad the main characters got their HEA.
Sadie Miller had a devastating past she was desperate to get away from. She'd spent her life trying to find her place in the world and with one tragic event after another, all she craved was security. My heart really went out to her because she was looking for this comfort blanket in all the wrong places and time after time, she was left hurt and alone. I was so pleased that very early on she decided enough was enough and a fresh start was needed:
Sadie's character was so vulnerable and she had massive insecurities. I got a glimpse into her past from the prologue but I knew her actions were as a result of so much more .... I just didn't know what yet. But as her story was slowly revealed, her character became so much clearer to me. I could see why she was fighting her attraction to Brady and why she was so reluctant to let their relationship progress from anything more than friendship. But Brady Carson wasn't about to take no for an answer and he was going to fight for this girl!!!! (Oh be still my beating heart!!!!).
This man had it all. He was the perfect package and he was just what Sadie needed in her life. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word from his manners to his caring nature to that protective streak but ultimately he provided that comfort and security that Sadie so desperately needed.
I was willing for her to let Brady in. I was just hoping that what ever he was hiding, whatever it was that he couldn't possibly tell her wouldn't leave her devastated because secrets always have a habit of coming out and it's always the ones you care about the most that get hurt.
I loved Brady's pursuit of Sadie. The attraction was instant and the sexual chemistry undeniable. God there were times I thought if these two don't get it on I'm going to combust!!! lol. But Brady had no intention of pushing Sadie and he was willing to wait and I loved him for that.
This story was full of mystery and intrigue. There were hundreds of questions swirling around in my mind with no clues to guide me to the answers. I was desperate to find out the connection between Grant, Brady, Kara, Vodka Vince... the list went on and who were all the people that spent time talking to Vince when Brady had warned Sadie to steer clear of the man? And what in gods name was Brady's secret? Maybe it was just me but I just couldn't work it all out. I finally managed to work out the Vodka Vince connection but everything else that came out of the woodwork was definitely a surprise.
This book was told from Sadie's POV and although this is a standalone with a HEA, there is another book in the series... we get Grant's story!!!! Yay. We do get a sneak peak into Grant's world as the epilogue is told from his POV.
I rated "Don't let Go" 3.5 stars.

Hold on your seats because Michelle Lynn will give you one heck of the ride starting from the first chapter down to the last page.
Sadie Miller is the ultimate bad girl – she sleeps around, drinks booze and likes to party hard. She would wake up in the morning on a stranger’s bed. THIS WAS THE PAST. She did a total 360 in attempting to change her life – no more parties, no relationships, and most of all, no sleeping around. She just want to graduate, get her degree and finally be free of her parents.
Until Brady Carsen came along, he’s the lead singer of the local band who called themselves The Invisibles. She tried to fight off the attraction and the sizzling sexual tension between them. He was different from the rest of them. While others may stay away from her after she brushed them off, he stayed and effortlessly made his way into her heart. He wooed her continuously, showing up when least expected and always there for when even when he’s not needed. He’s the perfect man and anyone would be lucky to have him. If only she was worthy enough…
Her past was sordid enough to leave her with doubts not only with Brady’s intentions – but her own worth as well. On the other hand, Brady knew she was the one for him. No deal breakers – no matter what she is, or what her past is he doesn’t care. All he wants is her present and future. Would she feel the same if she knew his secrets? Both their pasts are looming above their heads waiting for the right time to strike. Would their love be strong enough to withstand their past to ensure their future?
To love Brady was effortless. He was sweet, thoughtful, loyal, smart, talented and HOT. WHAT CAN HE NOT DO? I have no idea. But to be loved by him must be really great. No wonder Sadie is quite adamant in getting into a relationship with him. Sadie, on the other hand, may have been a total sl*t in the past, but she tried to change – I think Brady was her reward for all the efforts she made. I felt sad for her, especially when she thinks she would never be worthy enough for Brady.
Make a room for the secondary characters in your hearts as well. You may doubt Grant at first, but you will just love him by the end of the novel. And Jessa – my heart goes out to her as well. I wish she will chose wisely on whom to give her heart. We will know them more on Michelle Lynn’s next novel!!!
Change is the only permanent thing in the world. No matter what other people may have done in the past, what important is the effort that they are making to make their present and their future better. It doesn’t matter what other people may think of you, what is important is that you and the people you value the most know who is the real you.
I cannot let go of Michelle Lynn’s novel. She had written an amazing love story which can resemble a fairy tale – only this time both the princess and the prince had a dark past and only together they can save each other. Don’t Let Go is a story of love, friendship, family, second chances and change. It’s sweet, it’s hot, it’s heartbreaking, and it’s freakin’ great!

Def does not cover it for me. This book was amazing. Sadie is @ Drayton University when she realizes she is not the person she want's to be, things she has done, the person she is becoming so she transfers out and goes to Western College for her Senior year for a fresh start. Her roommate is Jessa, and she drags her to a bar/house and this is where Sadie meets Brady. He is in a band and is the total opposite of anything that she has ever fallen for or been with, she fights it of course, he asks her to stay and watch his band perform, and she stays until after they start playing and then she sneeks out. But Brady is not about to give up, this beautiful story is about Brady and Sadie learning what love really is, about learning to trust and opening your heart to someone even when you feel like you could never do it again. It's about being loved no matter what has happened in your life, or what is currently going on in your life.
There are surprises in this book two i def didn't see coming, and another that i figured out but was still a great twist. Brady Carsen is such a great guy, he is patient, supportive, loyal, and loving, the perfect book boyfriend.
Yes he does have a few secrets, but they are def not "deal breakers". I love how he loves Sadie unconditionally, does not judge, just loves. How perfect that could be in real life. The side characters just made the book that much better, I have read several books, where I could not stand the side kicks, Jessa is a great friend, and just what Sadie needs. Sadie's Mom and grandma LOVE them!!! OH, and Grant!!! yummy!!! Can't wait for his story!!!!
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet love story that warms the heart.
I just finished Michelle's other book Love Me Back, and I def needed this heart warming story to snap me back, both amazing reads, but so opposite. Both get 5 stars from me. So if you liked this book pick up Love Me Back, Michelle is a very talented writer, I can see her shooting straight to the top!!!

Don't Let Go started off with a bang! (pun most definitely intended) *wink* So, to say I was very interested in seeing where things would go, would be a safe bet. Sadie Miller was not the typical good girl we usually get in books, in fact, she was quite the opposite.
Trying to overcome a few demons from her past, she moved to finish college in a new city. There, she vowed to stay away from parties and most importantly, guys. Luckily, Sadie had the best roommate, ever -- Jessa. She did not put up with anyone's crap and she didn't let Sadie just waste away. It was thanks to her, that Sadie came face to face with the hot, lead singer of The Invisibles, Brady Carsen.
You see, Brady really wasn't a bad boy rock star. In fact, he was very intelligent, respectful, sincere, caring, responsible, but...full of secrets. Secrets that had me turning the pages wanting to find out what they were.
From the moment Brady laid eyes on Sadie, he was a goner. I absolutely loved how he went about getting her to go on a date with him. Their banter and overall dialogue had me giggling and straight forward laughing. But mind you, Brady can definitely make a girl swoon.
Brady and Sadie's chemistry was amazing...but their sexual connection was off the charts. Simply put, they were perfect for each other -- just what the other one needed. Throughout the book we got to see both of them grow individually and as a couple and I absolutely liked that.
There was some angst during the book, which I definitely enjoyed. Yep, I'm a sucker for angsty scenes, and Michelle Lynn did not disappoint. Kara... ugh. Can you say, stalker?
Anyway, the plot was very intriguing. There were a few twists here and there that kept the ball rolling. The secondary characters were great and very well developed, too. I'm SO looking forward to Grant's book. I instantly liked his character when he first made an appearance and throughout the book, I ended up loving him. So yes, I cannot wait for Let Me In.
Don't Let Go is a sexy, heart warming story that should not be passed up!

Don't Let Go started off with a bang! (pun most definitely intended) *wink* So, to say I was very interested in seeing where things would go, would be a safe bet. Sadie Miller was not the typical good girl we usually get in books, in fact, she was quite the opposite.
Trying to overcome a few demons from her past, she moved to finish college in a new city. There, she vowed to stay away from parties and most importantly, guys. Luckily, Sadie had the best roommate, ever -- Jessa. She did not put up with anyone's crap and she didn't let Sadie just waste away. I fell in love with Brady and Sadie. Don't Let Go is fantastic, one of my favorites of the year by far! This story is my favorite type of romance. The hero and heroine are both trying to change from their turbulent pasts, they find each other and work through it together. Sadie is a great heroine. She's strong and confident without even knowing it. She is dealing with her past and starting fresh; finding Brady wasn't planned but he was a welcomed distraction. Sadie finds herself living a better a life with better values but still remaining true to herself. Her love for Brady is palpable almost from the beginning of their courtship. Sadie knows they make each other better and is confident in that. Brady is awesome; sweet, kind, romantic. He saw Sadie for the first time and was done for which makes me love him even more. I loved that what we thought was the first time he saw her wasn't actually the case because the first time he saw her is beautiful. Brady is confident in them too and never hides his feelings for her or his convictions about their relationship. Their physical relationship progresses slower but it seems so natural for them. And while they both are hiding something from the other they're not hiding their feelings for each other. They are always open and honest which causes them to grow together and have faith in their relationship. That faith is strong when it comes to each other, it's their faith in themselves that is constantly tested. My favorite part is the speech Brady gives Sadie in her room when her roommate, Mom, and Grandma are present. The secondary cast of characters is great too. Jessa was a spunky addition to Sadie's life. Brady's roommates are great for comic relief as well as Grandma Ida.
Don't Let Go is a heart warming, special story. The writing flows seamlessly. I couldn't put it down and read it from beginning to end in one evening. I'm so happy I read it and look forward to Grant's story next.

After only six months I do not remember a single thing that happened in this book. that has never happened before! says a lot about the story though...
2 stars. I'm sorry, but I did not like this book. I was really looking foward to reading it, but it completely disappointed me.
Three things I didn't like: insta love, the writing style, the "issues" Sadie and Brady had to deal with.
I hate insta love books. I just don't believe in love at first sight. Lust, attraction or being intrigued at first sight sure. But not love. I don't like when couples have been together for a week and act like they built a realtionship and trust for years.
The writing style was just not my cuppa. It was too short, too clipped and the author didn't describe she told us what we were supposed to see/feel/think in any situation. I don't like that. I like thinking and evaluating situations for myself. I rather interpret a mischievous smile, an arched eyebrow or a twinkle in his eyes myself, than having the author just telling me he said something in a playful way. That might seem nitpickerish but after a while that just really annoys the crap out of me. Sorry.

I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn't get behind Sadie as a likeable lead and that soured the rest of the story for me. I don't feel like she was mature. She was a spoiled, little rich girl who I really just didn't like. Sure, she had reasons for her issues (although I couldn't get behind the reason for her sluttiness, that seemed very unrealistic to me), but she was not grown up at all. She'd never held a job before and when her father cut her off she would have been completely lost if not for Brady and while that is definitely a major thumbs-up to Brady, she needed to go through something to make her grow up. You'd think the death of a family member would catapult someone into maturity, but it just didn't with her.
I liked Brady, and most of the secondary characters were believable and likeable, except I felt the character of Jessa was a bit inconsistent. And like another reviewer posted, I didn't feel emotionally-connected to the characters. It could be because I didn't care for Sadie, but I felt that the story was emotionally-hollow.
It did have all of the pieces and parts to make a great story, but just lacked the muscle to tie them all together, which is why I marked is as "okay."

This book had potential and I loved Brady Carsen. However, I could not find the love for Sadie Miller. She transfers to a new university her senior year after something terrible happens at her prior school that had her seeking escape through a series of one night stands. Brady sees Sadie long before he actually meets her and is thankful when she shows up at a venue where his band, The Invisibles, is playing that night.
Sadie is surprised by his interest but is convinced he only wants what every guy wants from her. Brady continues to pursue her without pressuring her to do anything. He asks that she trust him and it would be worth it. Both characters have secrets. Sadie finds herself falling for Brady despite trying to tell herself he won't want her once he knows. I wish she would have sought some professional help for her issues instead of feeling like a martyr and causing Brady some unnecessary angst.
Sadie is surprised by his interest but is convinced he only wants what every guy wants from her. Brady continues to pursue her without pressuring her to do anything. He asks that she trust him and it would be worth it. Both characters have secrets. Sadie finds herself falling for Brady despite trying to tell herself he won't want her once he knows. At the beginning, it was a bit too plain and boring, but as I continued reading the story I got hooked. The best part of the book ; sex scenes. Those were steamy hot.

I had the pleasure of being a beta reader for Michelle, so I got to meet Brady before the rest of the book world did. I fell in love with Brady from the moment I met him.
People looking from the outside in, thought that Sadie Miller had it all. Sadie comes from a very wealthy family to say the least. Sadie used sex to help cope with the pain that she was feeling. Sadie has a past that she is trying to leave behind when she transfers to a new college her junior year. Sadie wants a new life, a fresh beginning where no one knows her past. Sadie knows that using sex to cope was not helping ease the pain that she was feeling. When she transfers school, she vows that she will not be intimate with anyone, she has a new found respect for herself. While attending a house party with her roommate, Jessa she feels uncomfortable and wants to leave. As she is leaving the party, she literally bumps into a hot guy and loses her balance. He accuses her of being drunk, and doesn't want her to leave and drive home. He convinces her to stay and watch his band perform, but while he is on stage, Sadie makes a run for it.
The hot guy that bumps into Sadie at the party is Brady Carsen. Brady is immediately attracted to Sadie. He can not keep his eyes off of her. Brady needs to see Sadie again. When he realizes that she left her iPod behind at the party, he uses that as his opportunity to see her again. Brady wants to get to know Sadie, but Sadie is hesitant and keeps pushing Brady away. She knows that she won't be able to give him what he wants. Sadie does not want a relationship and she will not have sex with anyone.
Brady will not take no for an answer and pursues Sadie. There is just something about this girl that he is drawn to. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. Sadie thinks that Brady deserves better than her. Sadie has a past, one that she doesn't think that Brady will be able to accept. Little does Sadie know, Brady has a past as well. AHHHH I want more BRADY!! I can't stop reading him. His story was to short and ended abruptly in my opinion. I was sooo excited and turned the page to see it is over...sniff sniff...I want more!!
Ok so this book is about 2 people with baggage...like crazy sad baggage. Sadie blames herself for the death of a loved one while Brady hides his family secret ashamed of what people will think.
The two meet at a bar when Brady's band is read to go on stage. He didnt stalk her per say but when he saw he he went out of his way to meet her. She totally blew him off in a major way. WELLLLL, like I said not a stalker but, Brady tracked her down and made her realize she was his. The two begin to date but Sadie knows that once she has relations with him, he will be gone like every other guy she knows. Brady knows something is up and wont push her but they are both head over heals. When she is drunk and says " i love you theo" while Brady holds her, yeah he insists she break the wall.
Brady and Sadie move is a great direction until she takes Brady home to meet Mom and dad. Dad is a jerk and mom is "polite" but her grandma is a RIOT!! gotta love a cougar Grandma!! LOL Well some drama at home makes Sadie and Brady leave.
They continue their relationship but Brady is hiding secrets. When Sadie finally figures them out, Brady tried to push her away. The 2 are so perfect for each other but are so scared to hurt the other. With the help of friends and even family the two have a great ending.
My favorite scenes are when Brady describes how they will spend their "first time" and all that will happen....it was very hawt. i also loved when Brady was "Sad" Sadie didnt have on white when they went to Niagara Falls. He wanted to see a wet t-shirt show. I had to laugh. The two of them have such a fun and amazing relationship.
I cannot wait for Grant's book!!!!1

This was a very good, generic love story. There were a lot of over-used cliches that made this book a bit boring and unexciting. At the same time, this love story unfolded in a tried and true way that is always nice to read.
Sadie transfers from Drayton to a new school her senior year of college. She has secrets, and she is afraid to get involved with anyone. Brady Carsen is in a band and he has secrets too. Brady has a faux-hawk so he is a "bad boy" and Sadie has designer clothes so she is a "princess". How could they ever make it work?
I think, in this day and age, it is pretty obsolete to use the cliche "boy from the wrong side of the tracks". That type of dynamic is no longer realistic. In our modern society, I am almost certain that college kids don't really give a crap about socio-economic disparities and their parents relative income. For the most part, kids gravitate towards like-minded people and that is all.
It is hard to understand why anyone would have a problem with Brady. He is smart and lives in a nice house, and his father was a professor. He is obviously not a bad kid. He doesn't even have tattoos! Similarly, there is nothing especially prissy or waspish about Sadie. She lives in the dorms and goes to class and wears jeans and t-shirts. For the most part, I can't see anything especially different about them. I wish we could just leave this cliche in the past, it feels really antiquated.
One thing I didn't get was Rob's antagonistic behavior towards Sadie. It was never really explained that well and he never redeemed himself.

This is a New Adult novel with an HEA; part of a series but not a cliffhanger.
I'm on the fence with this one. I kept wanting to stop reading at certain points in the book; this was another I-have-a-tragic-circumstance-in-my-past-which-I-can't-reveal-to-my-current-boyfriend-otherwise-he'll-leave-me kind of story. *ROLL EYES* Does every new adult novel have to have this kind of story??? It's getting old.
The writing was fine -- not outstanding, but fine -- written in present tense which I enjoyed.
However, I had issues with the main characters and how their backgrounds were formed. For example, Sadie due to circumstances in her past, turned to sex to deal with her issues (not). Apparently she got around quite a bit, earned a reputation of slut. But for someone who got around quite a bit, she was relatively naïve and still sexually inexperienced?? It didn't quite add up for me.

Get ready to fall in love with Brady Carsen ladies! The story follows Sadie who has just transferred from another college to get away from the tragedy that transpired there. Sadie has a past and is determined to avoid it and start new. Once Brady enters her life it becomes more and more difficult for her to keep her secrets hidden. With the love and support of Brady she's able to face her past.

I loved this book! Great story that keeps you turning the pages! A must read for anyone who loves a HEA! I can't wait for Grant's story! I have found a new author to follow!

Loved these two!! It was great to see them fall in love even though there was a slight bit of drama... But it all worked out in the end. I can wait to read the rest of the series!!

Don’t Let Go has been in my TBR for awhile and I’m glad finally picked it up. Brady and Sadie story was so beautifully written. This story has so much heart, hurt, healing and of course love. This was my first read of this author and I’m definitely continue on with this series.

Great beginning to this one, but it lost it way throughout the story. It really needed something. All the elements were there, just not totally executed.

Sadie and Brady were definitely meant to be! They both had these secrets they were keeping from one other. But I feel like it made them stronger together. I so happy they made it worked. 💚
