“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” —Acts 1:8
Just prior to Pentecost, Jesus told His followers that the Holy Spirit would empower them to carry His gospel throughout the world. The book of Acts follows the early Church as it fulfills Jesus’s words, in spite of outside threats and persecution. This action-packed narrative is more than a historical account. It is the story of Jewish and Gentile believers learning how to live out the gospel together in community as the family of God.
Over six weeks, we will read all twenty-eight chapters of the book of Acts. Join us as we journey from Jerusalem to Rome, deepening our understanding of the Holy Spirit’s presence in the body of Christ and God’s plan of salvation for the entire world.
She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: One of my new year’s resolutions was to study the Bible more. After doing some research, I was impressed by She Reads Truth’s studies, so I downloaded a digital journaling Bible for GoodNotes along with the She Reads Truth’s Acts study. Also, I used the SRT website for the daily readings/devotionals. I liked that I could add the maps and info-graphs to my digital Bible, and the daily readings helped me unpack the Scriptures. I’m looking forward to utilizing more SRT studies in the future.
This was a fantastic study of the book of Acts - I really liked how it encouraged you to especially look for the Holy Spirit, the spread of the Gospel, and the early church. I have grown so much through the She Reads Truth studies!
I was more distracted for this study because of events in my life. I didn’t listen to the podcasts like I usually do which help with excitement about studying. But I did read all 28 chapters and the accompanying verses and I know that any study is not in vain.
