They say that cats and women will do what they want, and that had never been more true than in the case of Kitten. I mean, she didn’t even have a name; my best friend Beckett and I had named her Kitten when we were fifteen. She’d been dumped on the edge of Maxton, that much was obvious. We hadn’t know when, or why, but she’d been living out there for so long she was a hissing, spitting mess. She could barely speak, she was skin and bones. We’d tried to take her back with us, but she’d be stuffed in the Sanctum, and she’d die. They didn’t care about saving people in there, especially not weird feral girls.

Sometimes I thought we’d made a mistake, leaving her out there. We built her a house, in a fucking tree at that. For years we brought her food and clothes, slowly taught her how to speak, made sure she was comfortable as a wild girl could be. We offered over and over to bring her into Maxton, but every time we tried, she fought us tooth and nail, hissing like a house cat. Hence the name Kitten.

Then we grew up. Found our Omega, Darius, formed a Pack. Our visits to Kitten got less and less, our frustration growing more and more prominent until there was only animosity between us.

Then the world went crazy, and Kitten was at risk.

We’d save her now, and it didn’t matter if she hate us or not. At least she’d be alive.

Feral is the third standalone book int the Shadow Bred series. This series is Reverse Harem Omegaverse novel with MM and MPREG themes.

When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre.

Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer.

Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?

The Wiley-Fletcher-Reid pack is the cutest group you’ll ever meet. And Kitten adds the sass that these men have been missing while bringing so much heart to the group.

If you haven’t read Frenzy 🛑 STOP🛑 and go read it. Better yet, go back to Manix and start from the beginning. Watching this near extinct class of shifters grow and evolve is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

Meet the pack:
💚 Corvin Fletcher - Alpha of their pack of Alphas who works as a Legion mechanic
💚 Beckett Reid - Alpha raised by a single mom. He’s now a Maxton High School teacher.
💚 Cooper Wiley - Alpha and cousin to Finlo Grey from pack Huxley-Grey & he works for their construction company.
💚 Darius Reid - Omega who works at the Sanctum with best friend Bonnie De Léon, the Alpha General’s Omega.
💚 Kitten - beta turned Omega raised by an ancient, Manix urban legend named Lorso

We may have heard about the feral girl in the woods last book but she is nothing you’ll ever expect. She is a firecracker of a woman who isn’t afraid of anything. Yet her ancestry and bloodlines will shock the heck out of you more than anything in this story. Having been raised by the grumpy, gruff old Manix Lorso she has a tendency to slip into what’s affectionately called Kittenish - a mix of grunts and Latin. While her English is rusty, she’s a voracious reader so it comes back easily once she starts talking more.

The author opens this one smack in the middle of the Frenzy from last book. Carnal urges and the intense need to procreate consuming the town and pack. So although Kitten is not theirs (yet) she willingly claims these men as hers. And in an especially intense wave of desire, Kitten demands a fully shifted Manix. After the shock wears off her childhood crush delivers in spectacular fashion.

“𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭. 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧.” 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝—𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐛𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭… “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐢𝐭, 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞. 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐚.” 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫.

While it shouldn’t be funny, I find it hilarious that these five are shocked when their risqué week of copious copulation results in babies. And I greatly appreciated the way Kitten made it a point to reassure Darius the entire pregnancy. Even though she isn’t officially a part of the pack, hesitant to be a parent, and overall unprepared for this change in her life.

🔥 sweetverse RH with MPreg
🖤 MMMMF
🖤 3 Alpha’s and 2 Omega’s
🪢 knotting
🐉 full shifted fun with Kitten
🔥 DP with 2 in the 🐱

We don’t have universe crossover this time, but there are a few peeks at Maxton favorites:
🖤 The De Leon pack’s status is updated
🖤 The Huxley-Grey pack and the babies are seen here too
🧛🏻‍♂️ Australian vampire Doc Tanner finds himself a secret girl
🖤 Merrick and Murphy find them someone too
🎉 Wilkie goes MIA and I really could care less if he’s dead or alive

I have so many theories now that were three books in and I can’t wait for the next book CRAVE to drop this Summer.

A sweet addition to the series.

I like Kitten and all of the male leads. Though I will admit at times I had trouble differentiating their POVs. Occasionally when I paused in my reading, I had to go back to the start of the chapter to remember who I was dealing with.

We got a little hint of Kitten in at the end of book 2 so I was so excited to get more of her story! This book picks up as the beta females are all transitioned to omegas and the frenzy begins.

It is Corvin, Beckett, Cooper and Darius’ turn to make their pack whole, but it is going to be a struggle…can they tame the feral Kitten?

When Corvin and Beckett rush to find Kitten and protect her from what is coming, and once they find her they don’t have time to do anything but take her home… It was an emotional moment for the Wiley-Fletcher-Reid (WFR) pack…my heart hurt a little for Cooper and Darius tbh.

The WFR are going to have a lot of work ahead of them and Kitten has a tough road ahead of her too… letting go of years of everything she was taught so she can embrace something new will be a struggle. She has to learn to trust and she will discover secrets that will break your heart.

I have enjoyed this entire series! Each book is full of story, steam, great characters, and originality which is a winner winner chicken dinner for me! I will keep reading this series (I NEED TO KNOW WHO WAS IN THE ROOM WITH TANNER!!) And I can’t wait to see what is next.

A must read series in my opinion!

Sweet

I love this version of an omegaverse world, because they shift into these amazing beings and their male omegas get pregnant. It's so cool. This story in particular was lovely with a feral woman and the group of men who love her.

I'm excited to see where this world takes us next. Maybe Tanner's story?

Loved this. 💋💋💋💋

Feral

HERO /HEROINE
Beckett, an Alpha.
Corvin, and Alpha.
Darius, an Omega male.
Cooper, an Alpha.
Kitten, a Beta.

OVERALL THOUGHTS Betrayal is not for me folks. Ruined the whole damn thing.

FULL OF SPOILERS GUYS.

Beckett and Corvin find a feral young girl out one day while they were hunting in the wild. Long story short, they fell in love with her, took care of her, and taught her English. But she never trusted the town Maxton or Manix people as a whole and refused to go back with them.

Meanwhile, Beckett and Corvin back home were courting Cooper and Darius, ALL WHILE THEY WERE NURTURING AND FALLING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSE BTW. I'm talking years. Then when they were about to seal the deal with the guys, they told her they found a male omega and another Alpha. They asked her to join, she said no. The boys were heartbroken but for a whole year they tried to make it up to her and see her but she would never come out of hiding when they went to visit her. They eventually sealed the deal with Coop and Darius but overall, the pair felt uncomplete and lost. THEY NEVER TOLD ANYONE ABOUT HER. Not even their new mates, people they love.

So tell me HOW, I’m supposed to route for two men, who 1. Kept practically a lover, secret from their Alpha and Omega. (They never were physical with her. But all three loved each other and they were intimate emotionally. Def more than friends. Made plans to move out into the wild with her.) 2. Timeline wise, she came first. Cooper ad Darius came years after their bond with Kitten formed AND THEY STILL WENT THROUGH WITH IT?

Also, I felt so bad for Cooper and Darius. They were blindsided and thrown into this new relationship during an incredibly difficult time in the story. During the Frenzy, where no one, besides Cooper, bless him, could control themselves sexually. And afterwards, they had a few harsh words for the boys but they didn’t show remorse. Sure they gave them puppy dog faces and said sorry but their inner monologues said that they would never give her up. That they were happy this happened, even at the expense of their packs feelings. Like that’s fine and all but god dammit why couldn’t you have been honest from the get go.

I finished the story. I hated this pack. Every time I tried to like them I just remembered it was built on lies.

While I’m a huge fan of the McGinty universe, this book in the series just fell flat to me.

Two of the alphas, Becket and Corvin, ended up meeting a feral girl in the woods years ago. While they grew to become friends, on they matured (and probably along the same time they officially formed the pack) they began coming around Kittens cabin. Weeks turned into months before the two boys stopped coming by, and for the most part the group fizzled out. This is until all of the beta women in Maxton shift into omegas, at which point both men realize that Kitten is in extreme danger.

Long story short, the two go back and take an unconscious (because remember, she’s shifting) Kitten from her home and bring her back to theirs so that they can keep her safe from the feral alphas. The other alpha, Cooper, and the packs omega, Darius, are both very upset by this change, as they quickly come to find out that half of their pack have been keeping a large secret from them. A secret who is now in heat.

What I did not like about this book is that Cooper and Darius both accept Kitten right away. They aren’t happy with the other alphas, but for the most part the two of them don’t object to Kitten. Had this book spent more time on this conflict I think it could have been a more satisfying read. As it is, there is no real conflict in this book. The only hiccup in the book comes in at about 70% of the way into the book. What could have been the biggest hurdle would be integrating Kitten into the pack. How about Darius becoming pregnant by a woman he’s only just recently met? What about the distrust he faced knowing that two of his best friends hid her from them? I’m not a fan of insta-love, so I would have preferred the pack have to grovel more.

What I was also surprised by is that Kitten, who spent years alone in a cabin, puts up virtually no fight when she stays with the pack. How do you go from being alone, speaking a language that no one else knows, to accepting your new role as member #5 of a pack? You have to suspend belief while reading (hello, there’s mpreg) but some reactions and decisions still need to be genuine. That isn’t how this book felt to me.

DNF. Pretty much a porn without plot. At least the other two books had some substance. The only remotely interesting character was Cooper and the only reason he said no to the orgy was because the author needed someone to act as the Beta and he flipped his script like the next day and suddenly wanted to sleep with Kitten. Plus the changing into a huge monster to fuck a tiny woman doesn't make any sense. Not only do all these men have like giant size penis' to start but then you add a monster god penis in there and it's like "what???". I'm sorry but there is only like on average 3-5 inches until you hit the crevix. There is no need for like the other 20 inches these men are carrying around with them. For the same reason, knotting doesn't work with a vagina involved. The Knit is at the base of the penis. Therefore if you have a man "knotting" a woman in the vagina, the woman would need the length of the penis before the cervix. Example: a 10 inch penis? She would need a 10-11 inch vaginal channel to allow for room/be comfortable for her. The only reason that is viable for a bowel or ass or anus is you got more room to shove these god like penis' into.

4.5/5⭐️

This author can continue writing in this world and I would consume each and every single one of them (ehem, Maverick and Murphy next please?).
This is book 3 and while it can be considered standalone, I'd highly encourage to read books 1 and 2 for better understanding. A reader might be kind of lost a few times since there's mentions of past conflicts from the previous books.

I just loved Darius, Cooper, Corvin, Beckett and Kitten (although, I would have loved for her to get an actual name eventually but not a big deal). So things are a GO in the beginning chapters because, this runs parallel to the events that happened in book 2 (Betas turning into Omegas and the mating frenzy) so its from 0-60 in 2 seconds. Then it slows a bit down, so it's a bit backwards in terms of "courting"/getting into a relationship but it worked for this pack. There were a few things I feel were glossed over and felt could have been expanded on (maybe some groveling and better apologizing in certain scenes) but overall, still a very enjoyable read. The HEAT & mating scenes 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵🥵

Omg. I absolutely adore this world. Grace could write them forever and I would happily read them. But this pack! Oh my goodness!!! I completely adore this pack. My favorite one yet. So sweet and loving. Darius is the best kind of omega. Just a huge open forgiving heart. Kitten is stinking adorable, half feral and completely ready to love. 💜

11 years of secrets

We are back in the world of Maxton!! Book 3 follows book 2 after the Omega-shift frenzy and we finally get more about Corvin and Beckett’s secret mystery…feral Kitten.

While Book 1 and Book 2 had a lot of suspense and drama, I feel this book focused more so on this pack specifically and the trials of coming together and becoming Wiley-Fletcher-Reid pack.

This book was sexy and cute! I felt like the beginning was a bit rushed, although if it wasn’t then we may just be reading about orgies over and over again.
😉😉😂. Even though Kitty, Corvin and Beck had history, Cooper and Darius developed an insta-love with her right away. I do always enjoy seeing a “couple” grow into their love throughout the book and that’s exactly what we got. They were not the same characters from beginning to end. They all became stronger and wiser as it went on.

It started off with how the 3 of them all originally met. Where Kitten came from and what led to her being kept the “worlds greatest secret.” I loved getting more of her back story, finallly!!! Kitten is a force all on her own and and fresh breath of air for the Maxton community. Plussss, her kink is a new one in the series so far and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT!!!!

When tragedy strikes at the end, it ends up putting the Manix people in practically a whole new world where their future is unknown. The side characters in this book were great! I can’t wait for more Manix and to see how this new “world” plays out in their story. Also who is Tanner with!?!

I do think this story set up for an amazing book 4 and I can’t wait.

This is definitely more of a love story, above all else. Must have read other books in series to fully understand events.

“Need you nice and wet for my knot, beautiful. I want you to ride my face like you’re about to be the bull riding world champion, okay?”

*Overall 4/5
*Heat? 4/5
*Fast Burn
*First person POV (all main characters)
*RH - MMFMM Romance
*DP 😉
*HEA? Yes.

I liked this book. I have to admit though, after waiting so long for it, it did come across a bit lackluster. There was no push and pull and the characters got together way too fast. I wanted to DNF so many times but I forced myself through the end. The second half was pretty boring though. I was more interested in the side characters than I was with the main leads.

Feral was another dive into the Manix world with the wonderfully creative Grace McGinty and she didn’t hold anything back with all the omega, mpreg, alpha heat that you have come to expect from this series. This reverse harem is not for the faint of heart with many polite boundaries being crossed and the heat levels turned up to maximum as we get to know the Wiley-Fletcher-Reid Pack a whole lot better.

Feral begins in the middle of Frenzy, as the female Betas begin to turn into Omegas and we got a hint at the end of that book which way this one was going. Half of the Wiley-Fletcher-Reid Pack have ties to a lone female half-Manix, Kitten, who lives in the forest and their past actions dictate the direction of this story takes. I loved the plot of this book as beyond all of the heat and chemistry was a beautiful story about family and what makes the feeling of home. Once again Grace has created wonderful characters with a beautiful balance of hot, sexy and sweet that both burn up the pages but also tell this wonderful story.

Feral is another great additional to the Manix legacy adding more to their growing story. Definitely grab this when it is released!

Who doesn't love sweet alphas?

I didnt want this book to be over, as I never want any of them to. I'm not sure Grace will ever be able to write a story where the main harem of guys are not all loveable and vital to the story. This is the third book in the Shadow Bred series, and once again I absolutely love everyone.

It's a sexy read with plenty of smut, a great plot, and some emotional and heartwarming moments that leave you tearing up or smiling ear to ear.

I cant wait for the next book. There are ao many people I want to see HEAs for. I will say that I think Frenzy is still my favorite, but they are all so amazing and Grace has quickly become one of my all time favorite authors!

This wasn’t my favorite from the series but I still enjoyed it. In general I really liked the relationship between the pack but I felt like the book lacked in showing us the connection between Darius (one of the pack's omega) and the guys. Sometimes I felt like they felt more for Kitten and that didn’t sit right with me.

I would’ve given this a higher rating but I felt like the ending was very abrupt and I wanted to see more of them.

Anyways, I loved seeing Bonnie and her pack, I love them. I also enjoyed seeing more of Tanner and I’m excited to find out who’s his omega. I recommend this book. Toodles!

This is the 3rd book in the Shadowbred series and I really enjoyed both the storyline and change of pace of this story. This story begins with the shared history between Kitten and her 2 protectors and fast forwards to present day in parallel timeline to Book 2. I really liked that this was a sweeter romance story. Whilst it maintains the heat of the series, the story itself has a different feel and gave us updates on favourite characters and harems. Grace has crafted a well thought out and intricate world with characters we can care about.

I was super excited about getting a book about Corvin and Beckett's pack because they seemed like such awesome guys since the moment we met them in Manix so naturally I was rooting for them to finally get their own HEA. I'm a little sad to say that I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. The whole thing was a little bit slow and there wasn't all that much action going on plot wise in my opinion. I also felt like Kitten gave in a bit too quickly given her background but that might just be a personal preference to have gotten a bit more of a build up after she was gone for so long. I will say that I was a little surprised about where this book took not just this pack but the town of Manix as a whole! I feel like I can already guess a decent portion of what the plot will be in the upcoming fourth book Crave (set to release this summer) in addition to who it will be about! 👀 I was always a little curious about this person, especially after the second book so I'm happy that they're going to be getting a story! And while this wasn't my favorite book of the series I still really enjoyed my reading experience overall. It was a satisfying end for this pack and even though there were a couple minor loose ends that were brought in but and fully addressed (like Beckett's mom coming to terms with Kitten's ancestry) I think that it still gave us readers a generally satisfying HEA. Here's to hoping we'll get another good story and lots of cameos from our favorite packs in Crave!

To be honest, I expected more from this. I don't remember the previous books, but these days I complain a lot about having multiple POVs but none of them have their unique voice. The same problem occurs here as well.

The book also suffered from the lack of actual plot. It is quite long, which I prefer so there is enough space for action and romance as well. In the first part there is a lot of porn and understanding that Kitten may be unsure, and Kitten not being unsure at all... She was afraid to come near the town for all her life, but a few days of sex will cure anyone of their anxieties. I didn't like how her adjustment was just so easy.

Actual things started to happen around the last 50 pages, so I have to say that the pacing was really off. I don't need 75 detailed sex scenes to know they are having sex. Most of them didn't bring the plot or the character development anywhere. The most pointless one was the last one. And writing a book for the sake of sex scenes is called porn, not urban fantasy.

I will still read the next book in the series but I'm not looking forward to it as much as I was for this one. I really liked the first book, was a little put off by all the sex in the second, and this one even felt boring at times. I see declining tendencies here.

This was an okay read but I think it may be where I take a break from this series. Do I want to know what happens with Merrick, Murphy, Rosa, and Tanner when these characters get their books? Sure. But I don’t think that I can read anymore on the partially thought out biological purpose of male pregnancy for Manix. Plus, with so many characters in each book, people are starting to blur together.

The alphas were practically interchangeable. I never knew whose chapter I was reading until I played the game of elimination once they started naming other people.

The ideas are often there with these books but not fully executed. There was this reference to Kitten being feral but she didn’t really come off that way at most times. I know she supposedly learned a lot from Corbin and Beckett as a teen but she spent a lot of time alone after that, so how is she able to joke about things like the stock market? I was expecting a character who was much more disconnected since she was supposed to be somewhat feral.

I do think that there could have been a full series just about Courtland. He’s faced a ton of challenges since becoming Legion General.

This felt like a pretty 'meh' entry in the series for me.

Pros:

* I liked the man vs nature conflict approach
* While I was hoping for some angst, I admit that I enjoyed the lack of interpersonal drama with any side characters
* I enjoyed the gender perspective - I liked how Kitten got to be protective and caring and nurturing while Darius was pregnant.

Cons:

* The connections between the LIs didn't feel genuine to me
* The POVs all blurred together - no one had a distinct voice and I often had to check the chapter heading to keep everyone straight (including Kitten).
* I didn't feel like the secrecy around the Doc and his paramour was handled well, creatively speaking. The cliffhanger reveal felt very awkward and forced. I know it's a weird thing to be annoyed by, since it has very little to do with the actual story, but it annoyed me.
* The synopsis implied way more angst than was delivered

Another enjoyable book in the series. I think the only reason I’m rating this lower is because I’m just not in a smut mood right now. I feel if I read this again, I’d love it even more because it’s a great story and development with all the characters.

I think what turned me off was the beginning, and the fact that Corven and Becker didn’t really have to grovel about keeping Kitten a secret. I personally wanted to see Darius and Cooper make them work for forgiveness rather than just hand it over. Thus I couldn’t really get into the smutty fun that was this book.

5/5 on the spicy scale. I really wish I could’ve enjoyed the sex scenes but I just couldn’t get into them for some reason. Great stuff though, very dirty.

Again, I had issues with this book, although I think I liked it overall more than the previous one. But like, all of Kitten's development was brushed over so quickly. Like, she went from running around in rags speaking Latin to speaking perfect English and reading books and going to bars in town in ONE CHAPTER. Also, the insta-love bit on the part of Darius and Cooper was a little annoying. Finally, the book ended so abruptly. I turned the page and it was over... usually, these books have epilogues, so I guess I was just confused. Oh well.

⚠️ This is Book 3 but each book can be read as standalone (which i did here)

It was alright. I really loved their pack dynamic. The character of Kitten was extremely endearing to me. She has a clear, coolheaded mind which allowed her to be emotionally intelligent. So refreshing for a FMC!
Darius is without a doubt my favorite MC. He’s a pretty no nonsense man in a loving, nurturing way.

HOWEVER, I’m still skeptical with the procreation mechanics. . .not entirely comfortable about it tbh, for Kitten and for Darius equally.

# read: Honestly, it’s a comfort read omg 🥹🫶
