What does a good girl do when she meets a monster of a man?
Elijah Marrow calls himself a beast. And not just because he's one of the infamous skin kings, and heir to the most ruthless pack on the continent. He can shift into an alpha wolf, but there’s something else lurking under his skin...
Me? I'm Stella Boone, a music teacher. I keep my head down, go to book club, and plan my Spring wedding. I'm not the kind of girl who gets mixed up with violent wolf shifters - especially since I never knew they existed.
But meeting Elijah Marrow proves the world is a lot darker and stranger than I believed. Dark, because monsters are real, and they’re on a mission to put every cursed wolf into the ground. And strange, because under my good girl exterior, I discover I’m a rare alpha female. One who is so powerful, I attract the attention of an omega male. He's beautiful and damaged, and claims me as a mate before I know what that means.
A situation that would have sent the old me into a nervous breakdown. But the new me gets it. You have to fight for what you want in the shifter world. And even though our three-way relationship is strange, I’m all in. I want my alpha and omega. And our Happy Ever After.
But Elijah gave up on his own happy ending a long time ago. He has no intention of continuing his family line, or putting me or our omega at the mercy of his beast. And with our enemies prepared to do anything to break us, getting him to fight against his instincts – to fight for us – might just be the toughest battle of all.
Marrow is a standalone dark shifter romance. It is set in the Hunter Moon Academy world, but can be read on its own. It is 18+ due to violent and sexual situations.
Simone Leigh Martin has tantalized us now with Marrow, a book introducing us to the Marrow clan mentioned in her Hunter Moon Academy series. There is also a little peek of our HM friends in this Marrow, a pleasant surprise for sure.
Elijah Marrow is feral. He's the black sheep of the Marrow family and wild to boot. His mission is to protect the banes, the wolves who are voids or broken, those without any other pack allegiance. Elijah has a lot on his plate between the banes and his brother Lucas' refuge, but his hands aren't full until he meets someone 'other' who he must defend against an altogether different threat.
Living a double life, Stella Boone hardly knows herself. She doesn't even know where she spends her Friday nights, but it's not the book club Stella thinks she attends. Her inner beast takes over then, and that beast is a badass with an appetite until she finds one piece of meat that bites back.
I loved these two together. Stella and Elijah are something special. Sometimes you have these books where the characters only shine when they are together, but to be honest, Stella is the star her name implies and commands the scenes she's in, and I love her with both Benji and Elijah.
In this book, we are finally introduced to the entire Marrow family and finally meet Vail's grandfather and one of the threats to her life in the Half Moon Academy books. He's a doozy. Prepare for the monster to live up to his reputation.
I love the HMA books, and this Skin Walker book is a very tasty treat. I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
Simone Leigh is an author that i have not read many of their books but this one has certainly convinced me that I need to rectify this issue right away. The drama, heat and chemistry. Is next level and I enjoyed the pacing of the book. Very excited to see what is next to come.
Almost lost it when Elijah was found but now I have another favorite author. Right up there with Feehan Hamilton Singh & Patterson. You want a good read grab it here.
This prequel to the HUNTER MOON ACADEMY SERIES is very good. It is informative without being a complete spoiler. I look forward to reading this series.
This is the kind of paranormal urban fantasy that I really like to read. Marrow is a more adult oriented story with darker themes than the Hunter Moon series that it shares it's universe with. This is a story that shows the crueler more violent side of shape shifters coupled with the types of internal politics and power struggles of werewolves in this world.
Marrow fits in nicely with the Hunter Moon series, but stands on it's own as it's own story. Looking forward to the next in the series
This was such a great read… Having read the Hunter Moon Academy series it was interesting to see the overlapping of different situations. Also another viewpoint of how some scenarios were viewed and dealt with. It definitely was not what I expected, but a great storyline none the less and ties in beautifully with the Hunter Moon series…. A really great read, whether you have read the Hunter Moon series or not….
Jumped into Marrow after finishing the first 3 in Hunter Moon Academy and I can’t wait for more. I love the feeling when you stumble upon a series that grabs your attention and keeps you excited for more. Got sucked in right away and couldn’t read them fast enough. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Girl. This book is SO much 🔥🔥 Such a unique storyline with so much suspense, heartache and the perfect amount of 🥵
The characters are amazing and are written in so much detail I feel like I know them irl! The writing is so smooth - I'm just absolutely in love with this book 😍😍
There was an air of freshness in despite the familiar trope due to the skilful handling of the lead characters. They drew the reader in despite the brutality of behaviours behaviours. The plot had a great pace and some twists and turns and it all worked to create a very good read.
I love shifter stories and I really enjoyed this captivating and interesting story. The storyline and characters are interesting, and I like them. I also enjoyed the suspense, intrigue and twists and turns in this story. I look forward to reading more from this writer.
.... sidestory to the Hunter Moon series!! It's completely unexpected and raw. Best read after at least one maybe the first two books I'd recommend. Marked 4 only because it's not a series 😘🥰
Please say that there's a continuation of this book. I really enjoyed it. Although I see that there is going to be a book about Sin's story, this book just doesn't feel complete.
This book has love, hate, fear, family, and so much more. You will be loving this book by the end of it. If you like shifter novels this is the book for you.
