I anxiously waited for this book, I have read and or listened to the entire series and loved it! This book 11 in the Immortals of New Orleans series, with gorgeous vampires and wolves and more! Viktor Christianson is an ancient gorgeous alpha vampire. Waverly LaFleur is an art curator and has psychic abilities. This storyline is action packed and filled with many paranormals. Waverly and Viktor are perfect for each other. She brought the humanity in him he has lost as an ancient vampire. Their love is powerful and I would have loved more of them in this book, because it's such a page turner, with so much going on. But, it all comes together when they have to figure who the bad guy/s are. I didn't like not knowing Viktor's and Waverly's physical description, I love attention to details and this book did not have that. This book had so many interesting, sexy secondary characters and I love knowing and hoping that Kym Grosso will write more of the Immortals of New Orleans series! A great read and would definitely recommend this book.
While this wasn’t a total loss for a decent book, there were some issues that I personally didn’t like. The major issue was the whiplash you get from reading this. Everything was so rushed through that important scenes were lacking and any danger was met with flashing right out of it. The Adam and the museum scene is the perfect example of this. The whole thing was barely a struggle and laughably short.
Also, this book all happened in less than 5 days and declaring one a love of their life and eternal soul mate won’t sit well for those who can’t stand insta love stories. The main protagonist backstory could have been better explored. And lastly, the repetitive inner monolog and conversations wore thin after the fourth and fifth time having to explain it. We get it. Viktor doesn’t want to take her choice away because everyone will grow old and die around her while she’ll stay young forever. Sheesh. No really! Seek some therapy.
It wasn’t a bad book, even with a few self publishing editing issues- see notes and highlights. But I couldn’t give this book more than a three star rating. Mrs. Grosso can do better.
It feels like forever since I’ve immersed myself in the Immortals of New Orleans world, so much so I feel like I’ve come home🤩
Viktor is an ancient vampire and when leaving a blood club, he helps a human female that’s in trouble. Unfortunately, she piques his interest and he’s soon obsessed with all things Waverly❣️
A wonderful story that I thoroughly enjoyed and I can’t wait for Julian’s book next❤️
The story has pain, suspense, sexy times, and heartbreak.

Once again Kym Grosso shows why this is one of the few PNR series that I still read.
Viktor is most definitely very alpha!!! At over 1000 years old he has had plenty of time to perfect all those alpha tendencies. As well as do everything necessary to suppress any human traits that might have tried to stick around. But when he meets Waverly start rearing their ugly heads. Pretty soon she has him doing some VERY human things!!!
Waverly was an interesting character. She was definitely a dichotomy with her love and knowledge of art verses her surfer girl tendencies, among other interesting traits.
I love the detail the author has gone into about the art that is mentioned in the story, as well as the artists. Not so much as to bore someone that might not be into Impressionism, but enough to get a feel for the history.
Another great addition to the Immortals of New Orleans series! Can’t wait to see who the next book will be about!!!
Kym Grosso is an author who is an auto buy for me every time. And Immortals of New Orleans is one of my favorite paranormal series. That said, Viktor and Waverly's story was one I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning reading because I couldn't put it down. Thank goodness I'm retired and don't have to worry about a job. LOL Just as magical as the rest of the series, readers are taken on a journey from one place to the next. It was so good to see favorite characters from previous books and seeing a few new characters who will hopefully get stories in the future!! Don't miss this book!!! It's going to be a favorite this year!
Viktor Immortal of New Orleans book 11 I have been waiting for this book for a while I started reading at soon as ARC hit my kindle and my eyes devoured every word. I couldn't put it down. Viktor story was fantastic and loved being back in this world seeing past characters and meeting some new ones. Defenitly a must read Kym Grosso is a one click author for me. Viktor available on Nov 30
Now lets talk about Vampires, and lets face it, depending on the Author, they are nothing like the ones I remember as a young kid hiding under the sheets as the scare me witless. Now my favorite Author has some Vampires that well lets say I would not mind meeting haha, she started with Kade and Luka, then Leopold, Quintus and now wowzers of all Viktor who by the way as he puts has walked the blue marble for 1000 years. and man is he sexy as hell and so Alpha.
Ancient vampire, Viktor Christianson, what could he tell us after all this time on Earth, well first of all his creator was well lets say was not the nicest person on this world and Viktor suffered for that, no love no friends and no children.
Now we all know its not permanent, this no love and no friend, enter art curator Waverly LaFleur and besides one heck of adventure that takes to so many places that make want to travel again, but no one to move me from one place to another and the cost well we all know how much,
It was nice to see old friends and meet new ones and to see a story flow so well.
It is the climactic fight at the end that bothers me. Not the fight but how it started. Did the author know who did it before she wrote the book or was she surprised like the characters. I would think I could make a list of my possible unsubscribe and come up with this one if I were fix and his brothers.
If the bad guy can get to you from the inside then the outside isn't safe either. How many times does a woman have to say yes before the hears her.
VIKTOR is the eleventh instalment in Kym Grosso’s contemporary adult IMMORTALS OF NEW ORLEANS erotic, paranormal romance series. This is ancient vampire Viktor Christianson, and museum curator Waverly LaFleur’s story line. VIKTOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as the story line references a number of past events.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Viktor and Waverly) VIKTOR follows the building romance and relationship between ancient vampire Viktor Christianson, and museum curator Waverly LaFleur. When her best friend Teagan goes missing, Waverly started searching the local supernatural clubs where she would come face to face with Viktor Christianson but Waverly doesn’t do the paranormal like her roommate Teagan, including the man with whom she will fall in love. When an anonymous donor offers up a priceless piece of art for the museum’s fund raiser, Waverly, once again, comes face to with Viktor Christianson, and will quickly discover that the piece of art offered hides another artifact once thought long lost and buried. As Viktor and Waverly begin a search for the original owner, Viktor comes to realize that his past may have resurfaced, and has taken aim at our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Viktor and Waverly, and the potential fall-out as the underworld is struggling to hold onto one of its’ own.
Viktor Christianson has been alone most of his life having suffered horrendously at the hands of his vampire sire but meeting Waverly LaFleur stirs something deep within our story line hero, something Viktor never thought possible in the face of the abuse and evil he has endured. Waverly LaFleur is adamant about not getting involved in the supernatural community but her attraction to Viktor is stronger than her ability to stay uninvolved but as Waverly and Viktor begin their search for the who, what, and why, Waverly slowly falls for the man that will claim her body and soul.
The relationship between Viktor and Waverly is that of fated mates. Viktor never thought he would find his bond-mate but something about Waverly draws Viktor like a moth to a flame. Viktor is unable to walk away, and their palpable sexual attraction does not go unnoticed by Viktor’s supernatural family. Refusing to claim Waverly without her consent, Viktor bides his time, time that may be Viktor and Waverly’s ultimate betrayal. The $ex scene are intimate, erotic and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Viktor’s brother Greyson; Viktor’s hybrid ‘child’ Rafe; as well as Quintus, Sebastian, and Ilsbeth, and Waverly’s former college friend Adam. The requisite evil has many faces.
VIKTOR is a complex and detailed story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is powerful and captivating; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are energetic, dynamic, and edgy.
I've really enjoyed all the Immortals of New Orleans books! This one might be my favorite. The relationship between Rafe and Viktor was a good laugh. Viktor an ancient vampire, you can almost see him shaking his head and rolling his eyes every time Rafe opens his mouth. What's most important is that you already see his humanity. Viktor was never as bad as he thought was. This story is about choices, evil or inherent good. Baxter is the personification of evil, but that doesn't have to define everyone he sired. It was implied that there was more to Waverly than being just human. I wish that could have been fleshed out, I hate to be left hanging. Waverly was the epitome of good. She was a loyal friend, brave in the face of danger and able to overcome prejudice that apparently started in childhood. I know most books have HEA built into them but her trusting and then loving Viktor was still heartfelt. She never let herself be the victim and he got his humanity back. I sincerely hope we see more of these two in future books. Now onto a pet peeve...this to authors and publishers. Book covers! I read my Kindle books on a Fire tablet so I've got color and that makes the problem even more egregious. (Plus being able to enlarge covers.) I'm a very visual person and covers are important to me! I've read that covers can help sell a book so for goodness sake try to be more accurate. Case in point the cover of "Viktor"...we see a very handsome and sexy man in a tuxedo with BLACK hair. As I read the book this was Viktor to me until page 129 "... stark contrast to Viktor's sleek blond mane." Viktor is a blond; well so much for that cover! And this happens a lot, piercing blue eyes...clearly brown on cover model, clean shaven...has a beard...I could go on, but I hope someone gets my point.
Oh Kym! You never disappoint me with your writing. I loved Viktor just as much as I have loved each one of the other books in the Immortals of New Orleans series. Perhaps a bit more, as I have a particular weakness for the "ancients" so to speak. The banter between Viktor and Quintus had me cackling at times.
Viktor has been an integral part of the Immortals of New Orleans series from the very beginning, in varying degrees. Sometimes only a tease of him here or there, sometimes with more of a story-centric part. I've always loved his wit, intelligence, and no nonsense manner. His ability to problem solve for his friends/kin is fascinating, and no, not just by unaliving the "problem". LOL
Dr. Waverly LaFleur is our heroine in this installment of the Immortals and Viktor has met his match, literally and figuratively. She's smart as a whip, athletic (she's a surfer!!), and beautiful. She's an art curator who has been unfortunately targeted by nefarious persons through her art dealings, and now she's in grave danger. A chance meeting with Viktor at a blood club puts her in Viktor's sights and the game is on. She runs far from him after an uninvited psychic vision involving Viktor terrifies her to her core.
Viktor knows she's his, but can he convince her that he is hers? Will Viktor be able to keep her safe from the darkness that seems bent on taking her out?
I loved this book so damn much! I thought I was in love with Quintus but holy vampires! Viktor has me enthralled! Then...THEN! Kym throws in that little snipped of Julius at the end?! What the WHAT? Stop it! Now I'm waiting on pins and needles for his badness.
ALSO: I had the opportunity to listen to Viktor on audiobook. Ryan West and Kai Kennecott narrate this book flawlessly. I'm telling you, hearing Ryan as Viktor absolutely brought him to life (haha! See what I did there?) and it was AMAZING! I definitely recommend listening!
Powerful, passionate, action packed and intense. Audio narrations Ryan West and Kai Kennicott deliver a stellar performance of Kym Grosso’s VICTOR.
The 11th book in the Immortals of New Orleans series brings us Victor and Waverly’s story. On the surface, these two could not be more opposites. He is an ancient vampire, alpha and a player. She is a surfer girl, human and an art curator. Under normal circumstances their paths would not have crossed, but when Waverly ventures into unknown territory in search of a friend Victor rescues her, and that changes the name of the game. Victor decides he can’t let her go.
Victor and Waverly soon embark on an adventure that neither one saw coming. One that is putting danger at their backs, and yet opening their eyes to things, they never thought possible. Secrets and evil combined with passion and intensity. Both of them change their ways that they have been stuck in and open themselves up to something only each other could give them.
VICTOR is a complex and intense read that had me wanting to speed up the narration just to find out what happens. I did not do that because I wanted to savor the story. Ryan West and Kai Kennicott truly bring the story to life. They deliver the story with passion and soul. You can feel the danger and the intimacy of this thrilling story coming through their words.
It’s no secret that I have been a long time fan of the series. And I am a huge audiobook junkie. Ryan West has done an amazing job narrating the series, but I do have to say the added addition of Kai Kennicott narrating the story, gave it that little something extra that it didn’t need, but yet made it better.
Once again Kym Grosso shows why this is one of the few PNR series that I still read.
Viktor is most definitely very alpha!!! At over 1000 years old he has had plenty of time to perfect all those alpha tendencies. Another great addition to the Immortals of New Orleans series! Can’t wait to see who the next book will be about!!!
I really like this one a lot! I think what i loved the MOST though is the fact that Victor refused to share his new mate!! Other than book one, which was prob. my least favorite of the bunch simply because i didn't care for the heroine, this is the only other book in the entire series where the hero doesn't share his new mate sexually! I'm all for the occasional hot threesome but i don't want every single book to have it because it becomes a bit monotonous and to be honest, it kind of takes away from the 'specialness' (...if that's even a word?) of someone finding their destined mate. One would think that you would covet something that special and not want another to touch it. Destined mates is one of the reasons i love paranormal romances because it just seems to make the coupling a bit more special, when someone's waited hundreds or thousands of years for their one true mate, but the whole sharing aspect kind of tarnishes that for me. I'm hoping there will be others with Victor's mindset but unfortunately, i think this author likes her threesomes. With all that said, i really have enjoyed all the books in this series...love all the characters and the storylines and look forward to more books in this series.
I like An Immortal of New Orleans series but do the heroines have to be so weak and whiny? The guys are great but Waverly has a PhD in art history essentially having to piece together the truth from lies to see if the art is real or not and she couldn’t piece together she was being set-up. He constant whining, ugh! Kai Kennicott is narrating with Ryan West now and he voice has no strength or grit to it so it always sound weak. Kim Grosso’s female will never turn into Sarah Connor and be “Let’s do this” but give them so backbone! Do they all have to act like a deer caught in headlights?
There’s 19 chapters and at chapter 16 Waverly is still screeching “I can’t believe this is happening”. The book is almost over shouldn’t you believe it by now. That’s my only complaint heroines that would be the first ones killed in a horror movie because they’re running through the woods in heels and fall at the feet of the killer. Such a shame because a real female that could truly compliment Viktor in every way instead of the damsel in distress would of been a nice change of pace.
Art curator Dr Waverly LaFleur is searching for her friend who was involved with the wrong crowd before going missing. A Miami blood club is not where she wants to be. Our heroine is about to find out why her mother always told her to never date vampires.
Viktor is an ancient vampire who has enjoyed all the benefits of immortality. He has no use for humans, except as food. So why does he suddenly feel the need to protect one??
This is a HOT paranormal romance filled with incredible characters. Some you will have met before if you have read any of the previous books in the series . Our characters have a mystery to solve that gets more dangerous the more they find out. Welcome to the world of the Immortals of New Orleans where the sex is hot, the blood flows and enemies and friends flash in and out of the story.
A very exciting addition to the series. Each book can be read on it's own, but will tempt you to buy all of them.
This was very good, the build up to the romance between Viktor and Waverly was seductive and sexy and so sweet..so different from the past few books. Viktor was sexy, classy and so deadly, really liked his character. Loved how the art would was brought into this book, really took you into that scene which I enjoyed. The sex pattern was finally broken with the threesomes, which was a nice change up but do miss my wolves, lol. The hole child thing with Rafe, was a cute twist and it was awesome that this book brought back in Quintus and new siblings. It sounds to me that there is some deep evil. brewing with their sire to come. This book was definitely written differently than the patterns of the past few, which even though they all had some what the same pattern, still very good. This one was different, refreshing and had a great story line. Well Done! Looking forward to Julian's book, although we haven't had much on his character in past books so this will be interesting
This is the eleventh book in the Immortals of New Orleans series where listeners get Viktor and Waverly’s story. Viktor is an alpha vampire to the nth degree and his world is upended when he happens upon an art curating human named Waverly. Ms. Grosso’s storyline will have anyone salivating. That being said, I had already read the book before listening to this audiobook and the narrators took it to another level. Kai Kennicott has a gift of whisking the listener away with the timbre of his voice as he crafted Viktor and the other supporting characters where you just want to close your eyes, see the scenes playing out in your mind and become an extra on the fringe of the action. Ryan West is a new narrator to me and as the audio progressed, I acclimated to his voice and enjoyed it more. Overall, the blending of the narrators voices bring this book to life and listeners will feel the characters’ emotions throughout this intense and passionate story.
I love when the immortals find their mates and can't resist the pull to claim them. Viktor's creator was beyond cruel. Whipping, beating and torturing the children he made gave him great pleasure. When the creator was finally killed and sent to Hell the vampires he sired found their freedom. Viktor is over five hundred years old and had turned off his humanity long ago. Then he rescues Waiverly who ended up in a dive of a blood club looking for a friend who had disappeared. Instead of finding answers she almost gets killed by a vampire until Viktor saves her. Turns out she's a curator for a museum in San Diego. Viktor ends up following her and the two start to form a bond. Something evil is out to get Waiverly and Viktor has sworn to protect her at all costs. They face danger together and come out stronger than ever. Awesome story.
I love Victor and Waverly, a special connection brings them together in the love they have for Art. I relate to this my father in-law was involved in the Milwaukee art community and created beautiful drawings and paintings. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next book. I am not into spoilers but I loved the mystery and all the secondary characters but I can’t wait for Rafe’s stories I feel that humor would be a part of the book. I also liked the hint about children I think it would be a great surprise. Love Kym’s style of writing in third person it’s my favorite when I look at books.Thank you Kym for your books keep writing such wonderful characters and beautiful stories. If you like paranormal romance and mystery this series is a wonderful one to have.
I love this series. I don't know how she does it, but each book just gets better and better. I don't like to give too much away when writing my review. The is so hard cause there is so much I want to say. Viktor was definitely one of my favorite. Waverly was perfect for him. I loved her struggle to decide what she really wanted. She goes through a lot and still chooses Viktor. I wanted to jump into this book and take her place. I love, love, loved Viktor and their story. I really loved how they all came together in the end. No I will not say who. You'll have to read it to find out. You will not be disappointed. I hope the next book is out in the near future.
I love Viktor. He’s an ancient vampire with so much finesse and a true gentleman to Waverly. The human that brings him back to life.
They have a beautiful love story full of mystery, twists, turns, and so many fun moments with the characters and their friends. Getting to catch up with some of my favorite characters from past books is always fun.
Waverly finds Viktor to be unique because he sees her and gets to know her, which makes their bond special, and it shows that even ancient vampires have hearts. Viktor and Waverly have a connection that immediately draws you in, and they are hard to put down once you start reading. This series keeps getting better and better!
Kym never ceases to amaze me with what she comes up with. we have seen Viktor and several books being an arrogant cocky vampire than he is lol and I loved watching him fall and fall hard. I like the fact that it shows the relationship between not only him and the good doctor lol but also Rafe. If you were at the other books you know who he is. He is the only child Vik his sired in his long life. Oh and did I mention he's also a half breed. Or female main character is a art curator finds her self in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is human but she has visions. And the minute they touch provisions are triggered. Which leads him down on heckuva road.
I loved this arty vamp. This book was a bit different from the other (which i enjoyed) by having the main character know what she wants and accepting her feelings for our lead vamp quickly. There was no slow burn and this allowed the story telling to be more focused on the problems they were trying solve. With those praises being said... I waited for the Audible version and was bit disappointed with the performance. i enjoy Ryan West as a narrator but this was a very lack luster version of his talent. I had no issues Kai Kennocitt, she did well. I cant wait to see who gets a book next, our Hybrid Vamp/Wolf, our Rogue Wolf or another Brother Ancient Vamp.
I feel like it was a thousand years waiting for Viktor but it was worth it. Such a rich and tasty story full of all the elements I've come to expect from a Kym Grosso novel. Is it strange to feel like I know these characters intimately? I've read each Immortals novel more than once and I treasure them like family. Viktor has finally found his person and the journey was a long one full of pain. It makes life richer and worth the wait. Thank you for another great story and I'll be waiting on Julian.
I have been waiting for a new book in this series for what seems like a very long time. I have missed this series and the “family” that they have become. I really enjoy the snappy repartee that goes back and between all the characters. Viktor and Waverly start out a little stiff but soon enough it seems much smoother. It was nice to hear about some of the earlier Immortals that I have read. Lots of twists and turns to keep you reading. It was so satisfying to dive back into this series. I will once again be waiting on the edge of my seat for the next story in this series.
The Great Paranormal Story Weavemaster Kym Grosso delivers another award worthy tale. My imagination was awoken with such a vivid presentation of characters and world building. There was lots of drama, action, twists and great plot. Of course, let us not forget the steamy pairing of Viktor the ancient immortal bachelor and Waverly, the art curator that conquers his heart. Also of note, a hybrid wolf named Rafe provided lively banter throughout the book. If you love Vampires you have to read this and all of Ms. Grosso's books. One-click now‼🖤🔥
Viktor's story starts with saving a human female at a blood club which he frequented rarely. Fortunately he was there that evening to save Waverly, an art curator. Viktor decides to loan a Monet to the museum that Waverly works for. It seems Viktor can't forget Waverly. Waverly has always rejected any vampires although she can't seem to forget Viktor. Their story begins but, along the way, they not only fall in love but they are tested beyond comprehension, at least for Waverly. This story contains non stop action, evil, passion and love.
Wow from the first few pages this book grabs you and doesn't let go . There is the full range of emotions. Fear, denial, love, hate, possessiveness . There is plenty of suspense and action going on also.. Viktor found his one. I almost forgot how much I love this series. Looks like the next read could be Julian. Will we see one for Rafe and Greyson.
