Coming back to the school was not something I was looking forward to. With my secret still hanging over me and the impending visit from King Blaine shadowing me every day, the stress is taking hold of me.

What I don’t expect is for the unexpected arrival of a swordsman, which forces me to throw caution to the wind and fight to protect him.

Trials are much harder this year and with Vespin starting his advance to Blaine's land, everything is heating up, and not just the war.

More surprises makes me unsteady and my budding relationships falter. Will I say yes to save to save them?

Trigger Warning: Fight contains M/M and F/M/M there will be triggering elements of abuse. This is also a Reverse Harem which means the Heroine does not have to choose between love interests. There will be lots of steam in this book as well.

You best believe i made a whole account just to write this review so y’all better buckle the fuck up while i talk my bullshit.

I’m still trying to understand what i’ve missed because everyone seemed to absolutely adore this book and i’m trying to figure out how i could go from loving a series to wanting to DNF it so quickly.

A positive aspect tho? I loved Garret and Orion’s relationship and generally how they explored their sexuality. it was nice to see and i generally liked their relationship.

Now moving onto the shit-show…

One of the main issues i have with this isn’t the plot itself. No i was well invested in the plot but the romance is where the problem lays. I’m sorry but how many love interests does this girl have? and for what reason? no no i’m still trying to figure out why like 10 men are head over heals for her.

I was absolutely chilling with Vash and the unit. Then we get Lukos. Im not… and will never be into student-teacher relationships so you could see why i was not routing for him… but let’s say he wasn’t a teacher… yeah no. i still wouldn’t route for him. Nothing personal, he’s a lovely character but he seemed hella out of place.

If it was just that tho, it would have been fine, I could have— would have gotten over it and enjoyed the rest of the book… but tell me why it was necessary for her to start slutting it up with fucking king Vespin?

Still don’t how or why that sort of development was needed and why he couldn’t have just been a cool king who admired her and just wanted the best for his people without being added to the never-ending harem, but apparently not. It seemed like every male she interacted with was ready to spread their cheeks for her. What’s so magical about her pussy? We may never know.

There was some other blushing bimbo who was smitten for her too but i couldn’t have been bothered to rmr his name cuz at this point… i was practically waiting to see if her brother would join the harem as well bc the continuous additions just that ridiculous to me 😕

There were some little things like grammatical errors and what’s not but lemme talk about what was my final fucking straw. When i thought things couldn’t get any worse…

Didn't care for it

Not what I was expecting. I loved the first book, this one, not so much. The further I read, the less I liked, till about 60% I Just started skimming. the sex took up way to much of the actual story. And the little we got seemed boring at times or just completely rushed. There is no balance in this book, and some questionable events that I just can't wrap my mind around. I think this is over?? But if not I can't see how u can drag Any of this on.

I absolutely adored the 1st book. It was one of my top 10 that I read in 2021. This book? Not so much. I am not sure exactly what happened but the writing is atrocious. If I see guys referred to as 'males' one more time I was gonna throw my kindle. What about men? Boys? Guys? Males is so clinical sounding and its used all the time.
Next thing...everyone wants the fmc. Why? Her being with her unit made sense. But let's throw in the professor..and possibly this professor (changed her mind on that one) and the kings! It took away from the relationship building (there was very little this book) and it just became annoying. The sex was boring and because there was so many guys it happened a lot. There was little drama and relationship building between the fmc and her group. It just was and then went to sex and that was it. They all continuously withhold information from one another still. For no reason it seems.
The story was all over the place this book. It jumped everywhere and ideas felt like they were just suddenly thrown in and hastily written on paper. Everything from the descriptions to the conversations felt rushed and off. And that's without the grammar and spelling issues.
Also, why are we suddenly reading about side characters? The first book towards the end did bring up parts with Roe with the focus still towards the main characters. Now half the book is about side characters and their quests to find love etc. It just feels like a push to get more books out of this series. A series that if written well wouldn't need to rely on side characters to have multiple books.

Whilst I am enjoying this book, there are SO many typos and grammatical errors that really detract from the book for me. A lot of these problems could have been avoided with the use of a spellchecker such as grammarly. There’s a lot of repetition of certain words making the text sound stilted, and there’s quite a few errors where a completely wrong word has been accidentally written. I feel like this is a draft and should have been professionally proofread before being published 😕

An example of the lack of punctuation, taken directly from the book:

• I know he's thinking about what I just thought about myself how quickly we could win this war if we had people like that but I also understand that he doesn't want to risk innocent man just to see if there's a chance to even get some more magic users on our side because we really cannot afford to lose anybody on ours either.

• “We do not want to hurt anybody that is not our goal like the others before you we have given them an option should you lay down your weapon and leave us in peace there is always a place for you in my land where you can live among each other free marry who you want and not live in fear of your life and only pick up a sword should you choose to.”

An example of the wrong word having been used, taken directly from the book:

• “I’m on bored with that.” Archer says.

• My knees feel weak as my body feels with need.

I realise the author only had a few months to write this book and may have been overwhelmed with the time constraints, I certainly couldn’t have written a book so quickly!

The author is welcome to message me if they’d like to talk more about how to improve the book ☺️

meh.

So I really enjoyed the first book of this series, enough so that I read this one even when I wanted to put it down and never look at it again. The writing in this is ATROCIOUS; it was like they rushed through to finish a first draft and then just released it with no editing or proof reading. The grammar and punctuation are so bad it made me want to die a little inside. The plot line I so chaotic and choppy that it made me want to stop reading. I know the writer wanted to set things up for a bigger story and spin offs, but this story and these characters really suffered for it. The pacing is off, the passing of time is confusing and the flow of this story is just awful. I’m only giving it 2 stars because I liked the first one so much. It feels like a whole different author wrote it, like it was a huge step backwards. So so disappointed.

ARC review. Honest review for Fight. Book 2 started off right where book 1 left you on the cliff hanger. Story line throughout had a strong focus on relationship set ups with optional clothing. New plot twists for later books established and a nice new cliff hanger at the end. Overall a nice quick read.

Dnf at 57%. The main character started to feel sick and you know what that means, Pregnancy. So I looked up the word Pregnancy on the book(since I was reading on KU) and yep she gets pregnant. I personally can't stand it when the MC gets pregnant it just ruins the book for me. Other than that it wasn't a bad book and I'm sad that that trope had to be included.

Why did I start this series so excited, and now I'm just frustrated and pissed?

I really liked the first book, it wasn't perfect, but it was really enjoyable. This one? There's very little I DO like.

I won't go into details, but here's a list (not exhaustive) of everything I hated:

- The grammatical errors

- The pacing that was very much off, I was constantly confused as to how much time had passed.

- The ENTIRE OTHER STORY happening at THE SAME TIME. Not gonna lie, I just skipped those POVs. I get that the author wanted to introduce a spin-off, but you don't do it by making it half the story... That was the most frustrating thing ever.

- The wacky logic. You know the king is a bastard that needs to be taken down. Why, oh why would you still be at the academy??? Run away?? Plan his downfall??? No, they decide they should go to class and participate in the very dangerous trials... The author tried to justify it as them flying under King Asshole's radar, but that would only work if they were somehow working in parallel to play him and infiltrate the palace to bring him down from the inside. They do not. They just go to classes and fear for what would happen next...
The General basically sending Raven to get raped by A-hole king because his daughter is LOCKED away in the castle, but then he gives Nix the KEY to open the door????? WHY DIDN'T YOU DO IT YOURSELF???
That other guard who still hangs around the palace even after Raven told to hightail it and go to the other kingdom where they would be safe... He must like living in fear, I have no other explanation.
Raven is literary sent in with a dagger and is told to kill him the second she isn't safe. What happened to that? She wasn't drugged or anything, this able-bodied fearless warrior just didn't defend herself. WHY?? why why why why??? Kill the fucker. No weapon? find one, or hell, make one, you were taught how, or even improvise as you were also taught. Don't just take it? There was no reason whatsoever not to do everything in your power to try and kill him. So this was just another "FC waits for her harem to be saved and is enduring something traumatic in the meantime", yay...

- The miscommunication. Sometimes I don't mind a miscommunication because it's funny, or it helps characters realize things, but here it's just a ploy to keep the characters apart as long as possible. The whole "I will not tell them I am actually a girl because I don't trust them yet" would only work until maybe the middle of the first book. After that, I was just confused why she just let them be all confused and angry when it was very obvious she already trusted them. And then the whole "I'm waiting for the right time" in this book was just BS and an insult to the readers.

- FEMALE???? MALE????

- Again, I feel like I need to repeat it, but the side characters getting more "screen time" than the MCs sometimes, is just baffling. I don't want to read the povs of characters I don't know, don't want to know and that are only impacting the story very little but are mostly for a future spin-off.

- TYLER??? You plant the seed in book one. Ok. Then book two you make it seem like he's part of the harem too and I quote "he has it bad", as in he has it bad for Raven. And then you change your mind??? and he SUDDENLY isn't meant to be with her??? the hell?

- Again, probably because of the pages that were wasted on useless characters, some important moments that need detailing are just brushed off quickly. The battle? wosh, the guys reuniting with her after rescuing her? wosh, her trauma recovery? wosh

- That cliffhanger? Was that really necessary to introduce an OW trope at the end of the second book when all the relationships have been solidly established? There are 3 scenarios here:
1. This is just a way to shock the readers and have the FMC hurt until he reassures her that she is the only one. If option 1 comes to pass, what was the point?
2. Big shock, he actually breaks the FMC's heart and goes with what's-her-face, and that would be a horrible horrible horrible option that would just be hurtful for no reason.
3. He wants to have both her and the OW since she gets a harem, O & G are also together, so why not him with both? And ew. I know it's irrational since the FMC has multiple love interests, but if they are interested in other people outside the harem, I'm outta here.
So basically no option is good, and introducing something like that so late in the story is pointless and cruel.

There are probably more, but I feel like I need to end this rant and stop my blood pressure from rising to a critical state.

I liked the first book, but this one kinda lost it for me. First of all, the main female character is raped on page several times by the villain. Typically in romance, authors keep that off page or as a past event. I’ve read hundreds of romance including super dark romance and I can really only think of two other romances books that I read that had on page rape like this and they both had SIGNIFICANT trigger warnings. The only warning I saw on this one was that the heroine experience abuse…. This goes way beyond that. The author also handles her trauma really poorly at the end which is a pet peeve of mine. It’s also not characteristic for a book in this trope/genre so it just felt like I had been reading a fairly light series until that point and then I was kinda shocked.

Tbh, she never should have been sent back for the second trial in the first place. All of them were safely across the border and none of them needed to be put in a position of danger at that time. It was a strategically terrible plan. They knew the king specifically had a plan to kidnap and rape her and they went along with that plan for no reason at all. It seems fairly easy for people to travel around and cross the border back to safety, so idk why all their plans make it sound like nobody can escape the kingdom. Even the General made this crazy plan to save his daughter, but he had the key that could unlock her dungeon anyway as he’s the one who gave it to Raven who gave it to Nix anyway… Raven didn’t need to be involved. For a book that includes an entire faction of people skilled in strategy, I was confused by the “logic”.

The author also starts to throw in a lot of side character plots to the story. It started to feel like how the Throne of Glass and ACOTAR series took on side characters which I’m just in general not a fan of. The ending absolutely made me furious, and it wasn’t the cliff hanger part so much as the whole impending doom of other woman drama. I HATE OW drama especially in RH and especially at the stage where we have established close mate bonds. If this happened significantly earlier in the relationship development maybe I wouldn’t be as bothered, but chucking it in at this point was annoying. I also see that the next book is about this character and not the ones that the entire series has been about so far. It’s giving Tower of Dawn 🙄. There are so many unanswered questions in this book, I think there is a lot more that is unresolved than was actually resolved. I thought the series was promising but I’m actually just really annoyed now. Plus our FMC who has promised to not lie or keep secrets is again keeping a big fat secret 🙄🙄🙄🙄 and even though 7 in a harem is already too many and they have established themselves we’re getting hints that there might be another.

Also, is anyone else getting the impression that Tyler’s dream vision of a girl he has to promise to wait for mean there is a little red headed child that they’re indicating will grow up to be his bond? Because that gave me some ick.

I didn’t even factor the grammar and spelling issues into my review. It could use an editor but it not actually the worst I’ve seen 😅

This book is fantastic fantasy fiction with plenty of action and steamy scenes to keep you guessing as the complicated story unfolds. Raven is even more heroic and loving in this book, and we really get to see new sides of her. Roe is an unexpected surprise for most of the story. Honestly, there are so many characters to relate to and track it is hard not to love them all, from the hot studs to heroic women. I can't wait to see what is to come in this series.

This book does have an author warning for triggering scenes.

This book begins where the first book left off. Raven is meeting someone she doesn't expect to. I'm stunned that is who it is. She also discovers his history and position, and I'm so glad it is him and not who I thought it was.

We'll finally one male has claimed her and the best part he knew her truth all along go Vash. Vash is so sensitive and sweet, but his secrets are enormous. I can't wait to return to Knighthood Academy, and Raven tells the rest of the guys her secret.

Wow, Raven is delighted for year two, maybe a bit nervous, and definitely blessed to share a room with 5 guys. Her whole unit of Orion, Garrett, Clay, and Archer plus Vash on her team. When will she tell them her secret, and how will they take it?

This book has a lot of moving pieces and different characters to follow. Parts of this book are very cryptic, involving magic and paths to be taken. This book is very twisted and very intense poor Raven has to go thru hell at the hands of King Blaine.

This book gets very intriguing as we meet Mira. I wonder how she will come into play? Omg, I didn't see that end coming, and now I'm in withdrawals for the next book. Yes, the author promised a happy ever after but will it be for everyone?

This story has so many amazing moments in it, from the edge of your seat action to steamy scenes so hot they might melt your e-reader. Yet, the author incorporates twists and story turns that you don't expect. She also surprises you with details that are relevant to now and later. I love that she won't shy away from some complex scenes even though they were challenging to read; they definitely brought out aspects of her characters for you to understand.

WHY???? Book one was bad with its bland characters, bad grammar and robotic sex scenes. Book two said "Hold my beer" and threw in weeks of gratuitous rape. Why don't authors protect their female characters?

She could've used the threat of rape, held off for reasons, like some kind of injury that needed to heal first. Nope. Not only did she go there, but she wrote in a bunch of delays from the expected time of rescue so that the king would have a bunch more weeks to assault the FMC. For absolutely no reason.

For that matter, the group was warned much earlier about the king's intentions for Raven. Why did they bother returning to the school at all after the holidays? It makes no narrative sense, other than the author wanting her female character to be brutalized.

Even the writing went down in quality in this book. It almost felt like the entire book was written via dictation, and the app misheard a ton of words. One particular sentence could have been split into four different sentences.

“We do not want to hurt anybody that is not our goal like the others before you we have given them an option should you lay down your weapon and leave us in peace there is always a place for you in my land where you can live among each other free marry who you want and not live in fear of your life and only pick up a sword should you choose to.”

That is one sentence. No commas.

The dialogue was cringy. At the slightest prompting, characters would reveal entire histories in long monologues, the training sessions read like Wikipedia articles, and every time the twins had a conversation they used each other's name in every sentence.

I'm a completionist, but I'm not sure I can even force myself to read book three. Maybe just to find out the answers to a few questions, but I know I'll hate every moment.

Fight picks up right where we left off in Survival. So, essentially, the big cliffhanger gets answered right in the first chapter, and the payoff is worth the wait. Fight covers year 2 of Knightwood Academy. When Raven returns to the Academy, she has a few goals. One, she will tell her guys that she is a woman, and two, she needs to continue working on the inside to overthrow King Blaine. But, there is a wrench thrown in her plans when a young boy from Vulture Bay is chosen as the next Swordsman for year one. Raven must rescue the boy, all while maintaining her sanity and the seven men she is fated to.

Year 2 of the Knightwood Academy ups the spice and the plot. Raven becomes closer to her men, and more characters are introduced to add to the storyline. The dialogue is more casual and flows better than book one. The relationships grow and the characters are becoming more unique. We are able to see more of Vespin and Raven's relationship in this one as well. I think Raven has incredible chemistry with all of her men, which can be hard to do with so many men being in her harem. We also meet new characters and get their POV as well, which adds more depth to the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this sequel. There are many parts going on in the plot all at the same time, which can be a bit confusing. But, I am sure that the payout will be worth it in the end. I am really excited to see how everything ties together, and to see what is to happen after that shocking plot twist/cliffhanger at the end.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC of this book. My opinions are of my own and I was not obligated to provide a review.

I decided to give book 2 a chance, in the hopes that it would be better than book 1. Unfortunately I was disappointed as this book was worse.
First off, the trigger warning should be more specific that some of the abuse in the book is sexual abuse/assault.
Second, the issues in this book were worse than the first book. An editor is desperately needed, though a lot of the spelling and grammar mistakes, and sentences that don't make sense, should be something an alpha or beta reader picks up. There were inconsistencies, things introduced for no apparent reason as they aren't mentioned again..
There's too much happening with too many POVs, and the main romance story is kinda lost at times. We don't need all the different POVs, I especially didn't need Blaine's; but I also think the other side romances should be less in this story and have their own novellas.
Unfortunately the characters still have too many annoying and frustrating moments
It also looks like the next book doesn't follow Raven and her guys, or even Roe; it follows a new character only just introduced. Which makes no sense to me. That should be a novella, not book 3 in the series.

All in all, I won't be continuing this series, and I really hope this author starts using an editor and more/better alpha and beta readers that can pick up on and help fix the many issues.

Needs a bit of an edit

The only reason why I have given this a 2-star rating is that this book really needs an edit.

I love the story line it’s definitely something that I look for in most of the books I read and despite it being a little rough I didn’t mind.

What was really frustrating, and takes away from the story, is the substantial amount of grammatical and formatting errors throughout the book. There are also some developmental issues that leads me to believe this was written quite quickly without someone to proof and edit beforehand.
For example, at the beginning the king demands four trails for the second year units, two before the break and two after however, only one was completed before the break, but the story carried on like this was normal.
There are a lot of pathways and seperate stories happening at the same time as well which in some cases are okay but I feel these would have been better explored in a seperate novella (Antha and Roe’s journey).
Also there are some character development that may need a bit of exploration for example, Ravens time with Blaine and the initial assault was a bit lacking. Yes, she is a strong woman but this is a personality trait and despite this being a fictional story, anyone in her position would not be able to physically move let alone stand and talk like nothing is wrong. I feel like her struggles and vulnerability in the moment could have been explored, make the reader feel something in that moment be that pain, anger, shame, anything. This was a good opportunity to build her character more and see a different side of her.

My heart is broken, i feel like someone has walked over me and my feelings are all over the place. My poor Raven, be aware of trigger warnings. It´s getting dark and hard, what that ugly ass king blaine.. ugh i can´t say that name he is nothing to me. He can go and fuck himself. Jump off a cliff.
I love to see Ravens journey and also her twin brothers journey. She is such a strong woman, kicking ass and having her heart on her sleeve, she is so damn kind. Christian what a cutie, i love that he has got a family now. That kid
There is so many twist and turns in this one, a bit cryptic you are reading from a new Pov every chapter so you are getting thrown into another head and life/journey. So much secrets and people you never thought you would see shows up. A lot is happening. I really like the guys also, how much they love Raven and how dedicated they are and strong honorable males. So now we have officially is Orion, Archer, Clay, Vespin, Garrett, Vash and Lukos, so i expected, Tyler was unclear to me but he is not one of her guys.
Omg that ending?!! what the hell what a cliffhanger... nooo, i wonder what will happen now when Mira has made her appearance... i swear to god if she is gonna mess with Raven i am gonna stab or kill a bitch. I hope she will have a kind heart still, Raven don´t need to go thru more heartbreak
I don´t know how my heart will survive another cliffhanger...

And i am interested to see how Anthas and Adoras story will turn out, we have just got some teasers of what will come, their future harem and the obstacles

This was a bad read.

Please dont tell me that the mention of there being mate bondings up until 20 people was a forshadow because im done with the add up. I have read their vampire queen and it was good. Once. Tried the big harem and I dont like it enough to repeat it...

Too many characters + too many smut scenes - enough pages = zero story developement.

I thought this was going to be an interesting story but the villan being randomly obssessed with the FMC is too boring and overused.

So many scenes are just cut TOO short. Like we don't even see the battle when they come to rescue her. Nop. Let's just skip that and move on to where she is recovering. But not even the recovery part we get. One page she is suffering and retreated with her twin and the next she is being with the guys again.

I feel ZERO connection with the guys. ZERO. I was already starting to connect with the 4 OGs and then 4 more randoms added. Whyyy do we need to see secondary characterd povs? Idc about their lives at all.

I hate that we keep repeating and repeating and repeating the same thoughts in the guys povs and they are 8. Yes we get it you have never felt anything for snyone before her. You dont like men but he is different. Ugh.

They rescue her and I was there waiting for the "omg I was so worried, are you ok" conversations that never took place.

There are more thoughts but im feeling lazy to write them all.

Overall: hated it

I really love this storyline, it just needs better editing

This would be a solid 3 star rating because I've thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, from the first to this second book.

The characters are very much likeable. Th villain is as bad as you can get with the timeframe the storyline is set in. He's disgusting, cruel, and all the other bad terms a person can use to describe someone like that.

My biggest issue is the editing. There are lots of missed words in sentences and punctuation being in the wrong places or just missing. That makes it hard when reading the sentence(s). I don't believe I ran across any misspelled words, so that's good. There's words that don't start with a capital letter after a period/end of a sentence, but with proofreading and edits, things like that are easy enough to fix. This would be a solid five rating otherwise.

That ending was such a cliffhanger. A good one though. I'm excited to see what will happen next, regardless of edits. Yes, I really did say that. I will usually stop reading due to editing issues but when the author creates such a captivating storyline, most of the time I am able to ignore edit issues and push forward to try and enjoy the book. It has to be worst than the previous book for me to give up. I've seen it be worst. For here though, I'm hoping for best.

It is time for Raven to go back to Knightwood Academy and tell her men the truth about herself, while the dangers around her and unit 1 grow even bigger than before. Will Raven be able to stay out of King Blaine's hands, or will faith make it impossible for her to hide from him...?

This second book in the Knightwood Academy series adds serveral things to the first one. More characters get their own POV and their own role in the way to peace, relationships develop further, the spice levels go up and certain triggers become bigger. I like the way Raven's story isn't the only one that matters in the way to peace; this book focusses a little more on the roles other characters have to play. I am a bit worried whether it might make the story too complex a little further in the series, but that wasn't the case for this book yet. If the author kan keep this balance going, this series has a lot of potential for the next books.

I really like how this story develops and I'm looking forward to the next book(s). Slight warning though; if you don't like cliffhangers you might want to skip the final chapter.

Alright… I am now a sucker for a badass female lead and her group of swoon-worthy men following her around *grabby hands*

This series is like a combination of Mulan, the Hunger Games and Macbeth. Extra points for LGBTQ+ main characters as well as covering the topic of sexual assault in an accurate and respectful manner.

God I wish I had this group when I went through that 😭❤️

I really enjoyed the concept and the store line. The first book was AMAZING at establishing a slow burn, enemies to lovers dynamic and this book did a pretty good job at giving the payoff. Not to mention, the world building is excellent. The character evolution was great and I liked the relationships a lot. I also enjoyed how this book went into more perspectives than the first book did! Adds so much depth to the story!

That being said:
Holy shit this needs an editor. Every page had at least 1 error that was very distracting. Also a thesaurus would have been a nice investment! The same word was used to describe the group about a thousand times (“my guys”, “the guys”, etc.). The story felt a bit rushed at times and wasn’t as slow burn as the first one.

@rowenblackauthor has easily become a one click author for me. She snagged me with book one in this series Survival. This next one picks off literally where book 1 ends.

I read this in one sitting. Easy read, spice as all heck, and the storyline keeps you turning pages.

We are still following Raven on her journey at Knightwood while she is pretending to be her brother. Her men (mostly) are still in the dark on her even being a her lol.⠀The evil King is still a very huge douche canoe.

There are surprises along the way and lets not even speak on how Rowen ended this book. HOW DARE SHE!!!⠀I cant wait to see what will happen in boko three which looks like we will be skipping over to a newish character. I think we will still see glimpses of Raven but her story will continue on later.

Before we start a mob I think its necessary to continue Ravens story we need to see these other stories because in the end they all connect.

Check your triggers cause we do have some noncon in this book.

huh

Editing was lacking. Lots of wrong words in the wrong places. Sometimes sentences didn’t make sense at all.
The story was fine. Something similar to hunger games. The war is really just one battle. We didn’t get to see much of it. There are a ton of movie pieces in this book and I think it would have been better to focus on one set of characters then branch out to other storylines instead of cramming them all together.
Also the ending who is this person? I can’t remember because it was that forgettable from the first book. So many unanswered questions.
The smut scenes were lacking and I hope there was a trigger warning.
Those scenes were also poorly written but they could still be triggering. Also if you plan to have rape and you put one scene of it in then be brave and go for it; towing the line with it made her trauma fall flat. I also spent time reading a triggering scene for nothing if you are going to toe the line the rest of the time you should have just alluded to what happened to her from the beginning.

Fight starts up right after the events at the end of Survival and we FINALLY get to find out who was waiting for Raven at the door (I mean, we probably all had a very good guess but it was nice to have confirmation). This book has lots of spicy scenes and worked as a way to continue to build the plot and storyline for the rest of the series. I love Raven's determination and grit, she never gives up no matter what is thrown at her and shows her love for all the guys in different ways. This book is also multiple POV and we end up following various characters and their stories, plus how they relate to Raven's. I can't wait to see where Rowen takes us in the following books. Definitely one of my favorite, most unique series I've read in 2021.

This book is the second in the series and cannot be read as a standalone. Please be aware of tough situations later in the book that might make some readers uncomfortable.

Black did it again for me! I loved her details and her way she brought me into her world. I was so engrossed in the world I totally forgot about what was going on in the real world.

I love the budding relationships between the guys and Raven. And I'm very interested to see where Tyler's story goes as well.

One thing I loved and I do mean loved. Is the way she did everything in her power to protect Christian. That is the way.

I'm curious to see Roe/Anthas side storyline and how it plays into the overall success for Raven to save b everyone. Same with Adora! I just want Adora happy!!!

And tall about that cliffhanger. I know thst it's going to bring angst come book 3, but I'm confident that that Raven and her guys bonds are strong. Don't mess up dude .... Or I'mma be a little stabby. ... and I dont think Raven would like that very much.

I personally did not enjoy this book very much. The story felt rushed at certain points and I did not enjoy all the extra POVs. There were so many POV added that it just felt like filler chapters that really didn’t add to the story. Certain parts of the story were just hard to wrap my head around like I understand Raven is strong and independent but her recovery from her abuse felt rushed. I know people process trauma in different ways and she is still healing but to me it seems rushed through and then suddenly the guy are just going to barge in the room and make everything better? Like I said everyone is different but the story just didn’t have the emotions and reactions that felt true or real. I’m also not interested in a totally different book about a totally different person. I will most likely not continue this series which is sad.

I have read these books literally back to back. I found this author because she was referenced in another book, and I fell head first into this Dystopian world.

Raven’s path is not for the faint of heart. The prophecies state that she will go thru things that would break others. All of the prophecies seem to weave thru her story, because her path encourages the journeys of others. I love how every tendril of the future isn’t set in stone, and every story is intertwined. I have 0 chill, and I’m so excited that I found this authors. Her plot lines are amazing, and she is diabolical as she pushes her characters Thru pain and suffering as she promises a HEA…eventually. This book hurts, and her men will also feel her pain.

Quick triggers: kidnapping, sexual abuse, gore, and war.

Fight picks up right where Survival left off. Let me tell you I could not put this book down! I loved watching all the characters grow, especially Raven finally being ready to tell the rest of her guys that she isn’t really Roe. It’s amazing how strong Raven is with some of the struggles she has to go thru in this book and that she doesn’t let them break her. Her guys are sooo supportive of her and everything that happens on her path with Fate. I really enjoyed all the prophecies and intertwining of other characters Fates with Ravens. This book really keeps you guessing as to what will happen next! Boy does the cliffhanger at the end have you dying for book 3!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book continues exactly where Survival left off and it is a fantastic read. Rowen is really building such a beautiful world with great character development. It’s really lovely to see how all the characters’ stories are so intricately weaved together to form such an amazing read. I finished the book in one night because I just could not stop reading!!!!

There is a little more spice in this one compared to the first book. Raven just gets more lovable and brave in this book. I love reading more about Roe and his story - really hopping for a happily ever after ending for him as well!!! There’s a bit of twists and turns in the book that I didn’t see coming. Definitely did not see that ending coming and I cannot wait for the next one!!!! Highly recommend this series!

There are a couple of trigger warnings so please do read those before reading the book 💕
