An Omega who’s trying to get his life back together. An exiled Alpha who just wants to be left alone. Fate brings two broken souls together to make them whole.
Caden Hill’s life is in tatters. Thanks to his ex-boyfriend, he lost his high-paying job, and he’s now living in his car. When his warlock best friend invites him to a sanctuary for lost paranormals, it’s a new start for Caden. He’s sworn off romance… until a gorgeous Alpha saves him from a fate worse than death. Lee’s sexy, protective and thoughtful, but he’s broken, just like Caden is. Caden’s taste in men is awful, but maybe he can make an exception for Lee.
Branded as a murderer by his old pack for killing his father, all Lee Marshall wants to do is forget his past. He runs an animal shelter with three other misfit Alphas like him. Lee thinks he’s finally found peace, but something is missing in his life. The answer lies in Caden. Caden is his bright ray of sunshine, but Lee doesn’t believe a former killer like him deserves a shot at happiness. When a former pack mate begs Lee for help, Lee finds himself at a crossroads. Will he choose redemption or his fated mate?
Moon River Rogue is a mpreg shifter romance that features a reluctant Alpha with a dark past, a broken Omega keen on pursuing him and plenty of adorable rescue animals. It is the first book in the Exiled Pack series. There are no cliff-hangers or cheating, and a HEA is guaranteed.
Since I bought this whole series I will see read the final two, but after that this author goes on my "no read" list! The multitude of grammar and incorrect words (can't instead of can) was beyond distracting. This author should pull this book and fix it before selling it in the future!
This really intriguing, somewhat dark Mpreg shifter romance is a splendid start to a new series and can easily be read as a standalone. The plot has good world building and filled with some unpredictable, complex situations that are well-described. The characters are interesting with realistic flaws and the reader will empathize with them as they go through some difficult trials & tribulations before achieving their HEA. There is good support from the secondary characters. It is about: a despondent male omega rabbit shifter (Caden Hill) & his dog (Birdie) is invited by his warlock friend (Ollie) to come & stay by his coven then he comes into contact with a alpha male wolf shifter (Lee Marshall) who has a dark past. There is: Lee’s new pack/alpha friends (West, Riley & Dom), Lee’s dog (a retired K9, Gary) & a menagerie of pets, a magical protected forest (Moon River Woods) with white warlocks & white witches (Moon River Coven), a caring head wizard (Malachi) of the coven, a unwanted blast from the past (an omega, Vin) various kinds of shifters, rogues, alphas, omegas, fated mates, pack issues, friendship, comradery, prejudices, twists & turns, adventure, action, drama, suspense, intrigue, memories, trust issues, threats, danger, challenges, extreme violence, death, protectiveness, compromises, love, steamy scenes & a well-deserved satisfying epilogue. I look forward to the next book in this series with great anticipations & would recommend this book.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I struggled to finish it. I couldn't connect with either Caden or Lee: there were a lot of things I didn't get, especially their random burst of anger. Caden was leaving a life of abuse with the previous partner, he was left with no house as he moved in with him soon after they met each other. Guess what he did when he started to date Lee? He moved in soon after. Like, boy, didn't you learn anything? Especially if you consider how Lee was a known murderer and prone to get angry quickly. West was like a jealous boyfriend at the beginning: that stupid thing he did with their first date, and how quickly he accepted Caden once he showed a little spine was kinda ridiculous for me.
There isn't much explained about their world-building: no clear idea about people knowing about shifters till I was at two-thirds of the book, how shifters can get feral, or how these bursts of anger or strong emotions impacted the human side.
To be honest, I don't think I'll read the next books of this series.
What a great start to this series. This book was engaging and kept my attention from the moment I started it. I felt so bad for both Lee and Caden. Each had to go through a hellacious set of circumstances to find one another.
The connection between the two is instantaneous and deep. Caden knows he can’t stay away from Lee, even with Lee’s reputation. Lee feels like he doesn’t deserve a kind omega like Caden but he couldn’t be more wrong. These two were definitely hot together.
One aspect I really enjoyed was meeting the rest of the pack and coven. I loved speculating about who would get their HEA next. Each character was unique and intriguing. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
There were a few grammatical errors here and there and I noticed a name mix up or two, but it didn’t detract from the overall story.

Sweet story about an omega, Caden, with emotional baggage meeting an alpha, Lee, with emotional baggage.
However, due to a pet peeve of mine I did not finish the story. Threatening to kill your friend's new partner if they mess up is not in any way okay. I know it's a common american trope, but unless it is made clear in the story that it is unacceptable (and the psycho apologises), it ruins things for me. If it's not too bad I'm sometimes able to ignore it, but this was not one of those times.
Spoiler:
No, just no. Nope.
If you're looking for light entertainment and is not bothered by that particular messed up trope, you'll probably enjoy the book. I might give the series another shot with one of the other books, as I don't know if the author does this a lot or not.
I enjoyed the story but this would have benefitted greatly from a proofreader. It's hard to focus while trying to fill in missing words or ignore duplicates, especially when it's so frequent.
Littered with errors but a good story that kept me turning the pages
This is the first book by Fel Fern I have read and I thought it was a good story, but there were so many typos, different tenses in the same sentence, and missed words that it was frustrating and pulled me out of the story. Frankly, seeing how many books Ms. Fern has already published, she should have used a better proofreader (or a proofreader at all). Lee's past was filled with violence, having been unwillingly made his pack's enforcer, and Caden was on the receiving end of his awful ex's vicious temper. Both are deeply affected by those horrid experiences when they meet and Caden is not looking for another relationship, while Lee does not feel that he is good enough to be loved, but neither expected to find their fated mate. Lee is leading a pack of displaced Alphas, and Caden is staying at his best friend's coven house when the two men meet in unexpected circumstances and immediately feel the pull between them. Their relationship was tentative at first but even from the very beginning, Caden makes Lee feel loved and wanted and supports him in everything. Grumpy, lonely Lee suddenly has a ray of sunshine in his life who he absolutely adores and will do anything for. They do take their time in their relationship and don't rush into everything as often happens in fated mates stories, and this was completely right for their characters. I was surprised and disappointed that Caden never shifted in the book because I was so looking forward to seeing the big bad wolf with his cuddly, fluffy, little rabbit. There is also trouble involving Lee's old pack which adds tension to the storyline and helps Lee banish his demons. This made the story much more than fated mates meet, bond, the end. Because of the good story, and the character development, and the interesting supporting cast, and the marvellous names of the animals at the sanctuary, I felt that four stars were appropriate despite all the errors, especially because I do want to read the rest of the series, not least so that I can see West get his comeuppance because I'm sure that's coming and I know who's going to be responsible!
Lee is an exiled alpha with a dark past. A hard decision for the right reasons. Now a pack alpha with three other exiled alphas, they all run a shelter for unwanted animals. Punishing himself for a decision form the past, he does not feel like he deserves to be loved. A pack of alphas without an omega to provide balance, can be a daunting task.
Caden is an omega who was down on his luck after losing his job, leaving an abusive relationship and living in his car with his dog. Finally giving in and reaching out to his friend, Ollie, he swears off alphas and decides to get his life together. A walk through the woods very nearly took all that away from him.
An agreement with the Moon River Coven, allows the pack to stay on the property and protect the lands from other unwelcome trespassers. While going after a few rogue shifters, he ends up rescuing an omega his dog.
The connection was immediate, but their path to happiness took a lot of support from one another. Seeing the good in one another even when they couldn't see it in themselves.
We met quite a few new characters and I can't wait to see who will be next to have their HEA.

This is the first book of the Exile Pack series. This is the story of Caden Hill and Lee Marshall. Caden is a rabbit shifter and an omega. He has lost his job, apartment and confidence all courtesy of his ex boyfriend. His best friend invites him out to stay with him. The first day his french poodle runs off and traps Caden into a dangerous situation. Lee is an alpha wolf shifter. He has been exiled from his pack. He has formed his own pack with a few fellow alphas that need a little help. Together they all run an animal rescue. Lee saved Caden from his dangerous situation and immediately takes off. Even though they only had eye contact for a few minutes, a connection is made. This is their story. The book is well written and reads really well. Leo and Caden have lots of chemistry though neither has much faith in themselves. Together they learn to support one another and grow as a team. It wasn't the typical alpha male takes ove story. Of the two I found Caden to be the strongest. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next book.

Lee feels broken by his past then he meets Caden. By the time Omega Rabbit shifter Caden was free of his ex Alpha he and his dog Birdie are reduced to living in his car but then his friend warlock Ollie invite him to stay with his coven to given him time to find his feet again. As Ollie is greeting him he becomes aware of an alpha shifter.and looking around he sees an alpha talking to an older member of the coven as they leave the coven house. Wolf shifter Alpha West is a member of a small pack that lives and runs an animal shelter in the coven territory with the agreement that they will protect its borders. Later he takes birdie for a walk but she runs off and when he finds her there are two rogue wolf shifters with her who threaten to kill her unless Caden does as they ask. Suddenly the two are attacked by two more shifters in their animal form who kill them. One of the shifters is West but the other is unknown and is the pack Alpha Lee. Caden finds himself intrigued by Lee.

This story is filled with drama, suspense, sweetness and romance. Lee is part of a pack made up of werewolves who were sent away from their packs. They live on property that is owned by a Coven of witches and warlocks, in exchange for keeping the Coven safe from outsiders. Caden is staying at the Coven because his friend, Ollie, invited him when he found out that Caden was living in his car after a breakup. Lee saves Caden from 3 rogue shifters, but Caden isn't very nice to Lee afterwards. To make up for it, Caden bakes a pie and gives it to Lee as an apology. They're fascinated by each other, but each has their own reasons for not feeling worthy. Just as they decide to bond, Lee's past comes looking for him. Lee is rough in the outside, but a marshmallow inside. Caden is a sweetheart who finds his courage with Lee. Comic relief, and support, is provided by West. It's a very interesting book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
In the beginning, I wasn't so sure about Caden, but he did grow on me. Lee I liked from the beginning. The dynamic between them was balanced, Caden was a balm for Lee's soul, or rather his bloodthirsty nature that was caused by his upbringing in a rather cruel pack. The action of the book was well-paced. It was a bit of insta-love (like in a lot of fated mates book), but I enjoy those types of books. There were two or three instances with Caden that I wasn't a fan of, but all in all nothing that bad to sour the book for me.
I actually started reading Moon Burrow Bears then stopped somewhere around book 8 and now wanted to re-read because more books came out. Then I saw the Wright Auto series (read it whole) but then I snooped around even more and found that there's book about Jason and Nolan so I started this series (Exiled Pack) from the beginning to have closure with every character and every series set in this universe/town.
Pairing ranking (yet another series, yet another ranking :) ) 1. Caden & Lee
I did think this would be a good story, but I ended up loving it! Alphas who have been exiled and broken, an Omega who has been abused by an alpha undeserving of the title. That in itself may sound like you have read it before, but this story has several new angles that I loved! First of all, alphas running an animal sanctuary! I absolutely loved this idea! Not only does it make so much sense, it also brings a whole new dynamic to these alpha relationships. Then we have the alphas themselves. All have issues, but they banded together, a group of alphas to work towards a future together. The Omega quickly becomes the backbone of their pack and I thought that's just amazing! There are so many details that make this book really great and I can't wait for you to discover them! I sincerely hope to read the next books in the series soon!

Cowards don't walk away when they are needed. Fel is sending us another group of sexy outstanding men who will entertain and delight. Lee has a past which he thought was justified at the time, but got him an unfair label and exiled from his pack. He started a new life running an animal shelter with a few other Alphas who are equally wounded. Caden, suffered the ultimate betrayal which leaves him unemployed and homeless. When they meet, Lee has rescued Caden. He's attracted, but his self esteem is so low, he feels he is unworthy. Caden disagrees. Their histories feeding into their present complicates their relationship and creates more dangerous challenges. Does Lee get to find redemption? Can Caden convince Lee he is not only worthy, but forgiven? Great story. Excellent series beginning. Ms Fern introduces some sexy likeable new characters. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the atmosphere and pacing of the story. I thought it was really interesting that this world had both shifters as well as witches and warlocks, and the story was even more interesting in that Lee's pack was allied with a white witch and warlock coven. Alpha Lee's pack is made up of misfit alphas all rejected by their original packs. Now they lived together and run an animal shelter on land belonging to the coven in exchange for keeping the land safe from intruders. Omega Caden is just getting out of a bad relationship that left him jobless and homeless. He begins staying with the coven and is rescued from a horrible fate by Lee. I really loved these two together. Both men suffer from past demons and insecurities. I loved this book and am so glad it's the first of a new series. 5 stars.
Ok...when I started reading this book in this new series, I was having a bit of deja vu. The premise seem similar to previous books but it didn't take away my enjoyment in reading about a pack of alpha outcasts running an animal sanctuary. When the lead alpha Lee encounters omega Caden , they both recognized each other as their mate. I really loved how Caden was able to see past the ugliness and see the true, sweet and caring person that was Lee. Them being mates really helped bring harmony to the pack and hopes for the other alphas to find their mates. This romance had some violence, a little steam, not too much angst/drama but a lot of feel good moments that makes this a good start to the series. I'm definitely will be coming back for more.

Caden Hill is an omega shifter whose ex-boyfriend has brought him to living in his car and out of a job. He needs a place to go. A warlock friend, Ollie, invited him to a sanctuary where he meets Lee Marshall, an alpha who befriends and rescues him. Caden had sworn off relationships after his abusive relationship. But he trusts Lee already. Lee, however, does not feel worthy because of his own brokenness. Can the two of them help each other find the happiness and love they are missing? And when a former pack member, Vin, asks Lee for help, will he walk away from Caden? Will he make another choice instead?
This is a good start to the series. We meet many characters and get the history of Lee and Caden. Grab your copy and find out if there is a chance for the two of them to be happy together. Or will there still be challenges to their happiness?
Witches with a paranormal halfway house. Werewolves with an animal sanctuary. These were such great ideas! I really wanted to love this book, so I got almost halfway through before admitting I wasn't enjoying it.
I didn't like any of the characters. The Papa Smurf is kindly and generic. The best friend is overprotective instead of supportive and has no other personality. The werewolf leader is violent and laconic. His buddies aren't different. But worst of all, the "omega" is alternately spineless and completely lacking survival instincts.
The characters in this story with the most personality are the dogs.
This was really good!! The world building is spot on! Caden is an Omega and has been betrayed by an ex-boyfriend and now has no where to go so he is living in his car. A friend talks him into coming to stay at his coven. There he meets Lee an Alpha branded a murderer. He is working with is friends at a vet office. I loved the menagerie of animals. I cannot wait for the next story in the series. Overall, it's really well written, highly recommend.

I liked this storyline. Four outcast/ exiled Alphas are running a pet sanctuary and protecting the woods for the coven. Lee, West, Dom and Riley all work together to protect the lands and take care of the animals. Caden visits his friend, Ollie at the coven house. He is rescued by Lee when his dog, Birdie is caught by trespassing rogues. Caden is fresh off of being rejected and abused by his ex-Alpha, but feels something special for Lee. Lee is drawn to Caden, but fears his werewolf will scare him and he will lose him. Liked the ending!!
Dnf. I tried to push through but I can’t. I don’t know if this is a beginner author or what, but I can’t. It’s very insta which sometimes I’m for but when they already love each other in the first 40% of the book what’s left? And some things that happened like that slap to the friend didn’t make sense. There were parts where the math just wasn’t mathing. Like their two homes backed up to the same woods, how is it going to take 30 mins to get from one home to the other driving when it took a mins running through as a wolf. The story sounded good and could have been lovely this just want it.
I loved this m/m shifter romance with Lee a wolf shifter and Caden a bunny shifter, they meet under not so good circumstances Lee’s wolf took notice of Caden his scent was appealing but Lee didn’t know how to talk to people other than his pack and Caden just got out of a bad relationship but he couldn’t help the attraction he had for Lee. Fantastic story I loved it and I can’t wait to read more in this series and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
I loved Moon River Rogue by Fel Fern. It's the first book in the Exiled Pack series. I loved Caden and Lee. I loved watching Caden come out of his shy shell and help Lee to see that he is more than the killing machine that his Alpha father and pack leader made him into before he was exiled from the pack. I can't wait to read the next book when it comes out. It's supposed to be about Ollie and West.
I only gave 2 star since I could maybe see a good story there…
It could have been a decent story. However the execution was extremely cliche and the grammar was awful. I have never been one to get irritated or thrown off by a few minor errors. This though? It was riddled with typos and it felt very disjointed. It felt like a first draft. Lots of unfinished thoughts and lack of explanation.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Caden's life is a mess due to his ex but changes for the better when Lee saves him from rogues. They end up mating and when Lee's past comes calling, Caden is there to provide support while Lee does what he has to. Caden and Lee are very supportive of each other and are what each one needed.
I enjoyed this book a lot, but didn't understand why remove the concept of knotting and also why Caden NEVER shifted during the whole book. That's just weird. There were some editing mistakes, but ok, I got over it. Also: "but I closed my mouth over his prick and took all of his jizz" This is one of the ugliest sentences I've ever read in my life.
This book was completely different style to what the author usually writes and have to say I was very impressed I think this has to be my favourite so far written by them. I cannot wait to see what happens next I the series and hope all the alpha's meet their own mates and get a happy ending
The storyline is a bit rough around the edges, with an odd assortment of shifter characters and a storyline which includes unexplained violent episodes. Pairings are non-standard, and shifter abilities minimal. Even the witches and wizards are rather limited in paranormal functions. A slow burn MM romance, with two damaged, insecure individuals who manage to find comfort and support in each other. The story ends well, with at least a HFN resolution.
I really enjoyed this book. Caden is just out of a bad relationship and isn't looking for love. Lee doesn't think he's good enough for anyone. When they meet, they realize what they were missing is each other. Together they are whole.
Caden had ended a relationship with an alpha that mistreated him. Was living in his car until Ollie had him come the coven til he got things figured out, but they were mates. Great book read the book too fast.
