Like another reviewer stated, I don't go looking for vampire books much, if at all.
But Vivian Murdoch has become one of my go-to's for easy and entertaining readings.
This book was no different.
One can really tell how this author continues to grow in amazing ways in her writing, storyline, characters and everything else.
She may have changed my mind about vampires. But only hers.
Keep up the amazing work! Looking forward to what else you have in store for us.
I rank this book dove grey/dark ivory on my darkness scale.

This one is hard to rate.
It's the first time I read a 500 year old vampire that truly sounds like one. Void of all humanity, cruel, sadistic, with no boundaries remotely similar to ours. Easily bored, manipulative for the sake of feeling something. He was a nightmare, nothing sexy or enticing about him at all. But he delivered something new, and it was addictive in a kind of 'car crash you can't look away from' type of way.
The real reason why I kept reading was the psychological thriller aspect, and how I needed to know what was really going on and how much he was mind fucking these characters. To which the answer is: a lot.
I can’t see a happy ending at the end of this one, which only intrigues me even more to keep reading.

Wow....I have so much to say, but I will have to be super vague to avoid spoilers.
The author warned readers that this would be a much darker read than her previous books, and trust me when I say, she meant it. Even with the warning, this book was definitely darker than I expected, but in the absolute best of ways (well best by dark standards).
I’d like to say this book starts off like a traditional romance….girl(Katrina) goes on cruise, girl meets two hot guys (Luka and Jackson), who should she choose?... but that would be a lie. There is nothing traditional about this book. Which is why I love it!!!
This book went in directions I never expected and I loved every minute of it. Katrina is such an interesting character. Strong yet surprisingly fragile at times but far from weak. She's earned this vacation and is determined to enjoy this cruise to fullest, no strings attached...funny how she thinks she has a say in the matter 😈
Luka (our super-hot vampire) is so deliciously dark and twisted. Every time I thought he went too far, he went even further. Fair warning- Luka doesn’t cross lines, because in Luka’s world, there are no lines. Trust me when I say there is no mistaking this man as a hero. (And I wouldn't have it any other way).
Now that I've done all that gushing over Luka you have to be thinking, how can Jackson compete ? You couldn’t be more wrong. That man more than holds his own. A sexy domineering alpha who knows exactly how to handle a woman both inside the bedroom and out (and trust me, there’s a lot of out). When Jackson's in the room, the temperature is definitely rising. 🔥 🥵 🔥
So, no surprise, I spent the entire book going back and forth between Team Jackson and Team Luka. Gotta be honest, I still can't decide who I want more but also hoping I won't have to. *greedily crossing my fingers*.
I won’t go into further detail, because its nearly impossible to do so without spoilers, but if you like dark pnr romance, and trigger warnings make you buy the book vs run from it, then this is definitely the book for you.

So, I bought this book without knowing fully what it was about. Someone posted the warnings on Facebook and recommended this book strictly because of the kinky warnings that’s included in the beginning of this book.
So it’s a Bratva AND vampire trope. Honestly I would probably roll my eyes at this. I love both these tropes but I’ve never read them together.
But this author did a fantastic job with bringing these two tropes together in this series.
Luka is a nearly 6 century year old vampire. He’s smart, highly intelligent, ruthless as hell, and a complete antihero to the T.
Then we have Katrina. Recently broken up with her lackluster boyfriend, she decides to go on this BDSM cruise with her BFF. (You will not get the scared, frail, innocent, virgin heroine.)
Katrina is not new to the BDSM scene but there are things that she would like to dive into and try. What a perfect time then on this two week cruise to which she will never have to see these people again.
And then we have Jackson. He is on a vengeance seeking path to find and kill Luka. Luka killed his partner in crime and lover and wants to seek revenge on the person that did so. Her crime scene has given him PTSD and it’s a moment of time that he cannot get out of his head. And he wants Luka dead.
The base plot of the story is both men are highly attracted to Katrina. They both see her as a submissive that can fulfill all of their Dominant needs. The thing is, Luka is very aware that Jackson wants him dead. But Luka wants both of them as his submissive. What Luka wants, Luka gets. There’s a bit of forced drug psychosis and just a lot of kinky shit that happens in this book and I read this book in one sitting - Did not move out of my chair because it was that good!!
It does leave off on a cliffhanger. But this book is so worth reading now if you want a good kinky read.

Dark, depraved, disturbing and a perfect October naughty read. Must love all kinds of dark kink to really enjoy this book…..if you are squeamish probably want to pass on this one .

This was so freaking good!
I don’t read a lot of vampire stories, but I was intrigued by the promo for this release that I just had to preorder it. I was not disappointed. It was an exciting story, and truthfully, I enjoyed every moment and every character introduced - hero, heroine, antihero, villain, villainess, heroine’s best friend, villain’s right hand, etc. The character arcs were fantastic, effectively blurring the lines between good and evil and evil and good, making you love the wicked and wanton as well as the sweet and sexy and nice and naughty. There was no lag — it was so a captivating tale that I read it all in one sitting. Though the book ends on a cliffhanger, I still feel like I read a complete story. I was thrilled with the adventure I got as the reader, I was satisfied with the ending offered, and I am excited to read the next installment. This book is incredibly hot and sexy, but some scenes might be considered “triggering”, so be sure to read the author’s notes/warnings before purchase. This is a delicious dark romance, and I actually enjoyed the tastefully erotic non/dub intimacy. I personally didn’t find it over-the-top or disturbing. These elements (including the blood play/drinking) are consistent with the vampire genre, imho. So if you watched and enjoyed, for example, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, I think you will also enjoy this story’s darker themes. Highly Recommend!

This book took me on a dark ride that I was not expecting. The chemistry between the characters was intense, and the twists left me needing more!
Katrina is such a fun character to read. Her sass and heart shine through every scene, and I really enjoyed how strong she was even when she was terrified-and with good reason.
Jackson is a CIA agent out for revenge, and he’s up for having some hot as hell fun while he’s at it. He immediately caught my eye and I thought for sure he was the one for Katrina.
But then, along comes Luka. The dark, sinful, Vampire puppeteer is having the time of his life bending everyone to his will. If you always fall for the bad guy… Luka is your man.
Mind your triggers with this book! It definitely gets dark in here, but it is the perfect amount to keep you on the edge of your seat. Perfect book for spooky season!

Riveting
This book is absolutely riveting. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn’t look away. The characters captured my attention and my heart. Just when I thought I knew who I was cheering for I would do a complete 360. I love the dynamics between all of the characters and can not wait too see what happens in the next book. I know it will be phenomenal.

From Russia with Blood is the first book in a duet and man was I hooked by the vampire's teeth from the start. This book is definitely dark and might set off any triggers if you have any. I don’t really have any triggers so I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Vivian Murdoch is an amazing author and hits the BDSM, kinkiness, and fetishes perfectly. I loved each character from the get-go and can’t pick whom I liked more between the Alphas in this book. They were both delicious and knew how to really bring it throughout this book. I loved how Vivian gave such great background on each character and didn’t rush anything while reading this book. When I reached the end all I kept thinking was what did I just read!!! I couldn’t put the book down and am so excited to get my hands and sink my teeth into the next book.
Luka is the Alpha vampire and man does he ever get what he wants. Jackson is the DOM that really knows how to give and receive. Then there is the submissive Katrina which I found her to be strong-willed, knew what she wanted submissive. This book takes place on a Halloween cruise!! How fun would that be?!? Which I felt her fear of being on a huge boat out at sea. Cue the three-man orchestra!! The backstory of Luka and Jackson was exciting to read about and loved how they interacted together. All’s I can say is this book was hot, hot, hot!!! I absolutely love Alpha men in books and these men did not disappoint at all. The possessiveness was just so blatant between the two that I knew they would explode with feral rage at any moment. When it came to Katrina she was just amazing with her acceptance of what she liked. She was ready to let her freak flag fly!! I did hate her ex-boyfriend with a passion!! He was such a douche canoe. We didn’t meet him but she thought about him and how he treated her. I can’t handle book men that put their girlfriends down or make them feel less than they are. I loved how Katrina was stronger after leaving him and meeting Luka and Jackson even if it was on a cruise.

Well this book is definitely dark and has so many different tropes. I’ve never read anything quite like it and this author definitely has a eye for this writing.
This book is a PN, Mafia, BDSM, darker than dark read.
There’s really not much to say as anything I do will give spoilers, so let’s just say if your into dark, paranormal and mafia books then this is for you. There’s a lot of twists and a great plot line.
I will also say non of these characters are week by any means. And I would say that Luka & Jackson are ruthless.
One cruise ship, one girl, one guy looking for revenge and one vampire. What will become of these three!!!!
Please make sure you read trigger warnings and expect the unexpected. I knew of the warnings but still wow 😬

1 gruesome first chapter (but I've read horror erotica that had more shock factor if that's what you're after), 4 boring cat and mouse chapters then so much filler material with unending monologues and repetitions I had to speed read till the end to check the pay off at the end. It was wea. I felt no connection with any character and there was no bratva stuff really, just an evil Russian vamp. Very standard vampire mythology. I will stop here and not read the 2nd book of this series cause I couldn't care less about the cliffhanger. 1.5 ⭐ I guess I like my bdsm (or even my noncon) straight and not mixed with other tropes. Lesson learned.

This is the darkest Vivian Murdoch story I have read and readers should heed the trigger warnings. Readers should also know that this is the first book in a duetand the ending will kill you if you have an issue with cliffhangers. I love cliffhangers, but this one knocked the breath out of me. I'm dying to get my hands on book 2 and if it were possible for me to be able to make Ms. Murdoch write faster I would be doing it. Think Stephen King's Misery level encouragement.
There were so many twists and turns in this one and I feel like I was in a constant love/hate relationship with both Luka and Jackson. They are both dark and depraved, and oh so delicious. Katerina is strong, sassy, and no shrinking violet when it comes to BDSM. I loved that she wasn't a newbie to the scene and that she has a more adventurous spirit. She may have bitten off more than she can chew in her current situation, but she doesn't back down, and I love that.
If you love the dark, and vampires that aren't sweet and glittery, then this is a must read for you.

I can’t wait for the next book! This book combines by lack of enthusiasm for cruises, love of all things vampire, and BDSM into one fantastic story. Katrina is a great character, with a lot of human flaws. And, oh, the trouble we get into with our friends! She thinks she will be just fine when she meets her Indiana Jones wat-to-be, Jackson. Jackson is more undercover, super-secret agent, on a mission impossible, but is quickly sidetracked by Katrina and his need to be her rescuer. And then you have the villain, Luka. Tall, dark, and handsome with fangs. Very intense and sometimes hard to keep watching, like any great horror movie. You won’t be sorry you finished it!

Yessssssss!!!
Okay, so.... several people recommended this books. So of course i listened. And i legit could do redrum to them for not mentionong the suet isnt complete. It wouldnt have stopped me from reading but aghhhhhhhhh i need more. Qnd im greedy and gluttonous so i neeeeed it now. No matter i may just re read this once a week until book 2 is out. Omg!!! Luka, Jackson... i cant decide who i love more. Probably Luka. Though that can change with my mood. Did i say i need more? I could seriously read this over qnd over again for the rest of my life

The spice in the book is excellent even though it's not really my kink. The plot is interesting, but the female characters are annoying and basic. The internal monologues and dialogue are terrible. The guys just constantly repeat how they need to possess Katrina and how she is their whole world after just meeting. At one point Luka says he'd die for her... He's a psychopathic, immortal vampire... Katrina's like I'm here to sleep around and not catch feelings, but then she catches feelings immediately.

Solid vampire book. I enjoyed Luka in all his vampire delicious glory. Jackson was great and I loved when he became unhinged and finally took what he wanted
I didn’t find this dark, and would’ve enjoyed more depravity and ruthlessness from Luka. With the tone and feel of this story, I would’ve liked more intense passionate sex scenes over so much play. However, I did really like how the bdsm was written and portrayed. It was fab! 👌🏻

I feel like my rating is a definitely it's me not you type of thing.
I know I can't read paranormal. I KNOW IT. It's too much for my brain the lore, the world building all that. And still I was stubborn and tried it. I was super frustrated with myself.
The story line was pretty interesting and I feel like taboo paranormal readers will love this. I definitely had my moments.

I was promised non con and it wasn’t true non con. The second you find out she voluntarily went on a sex kink ship because her ex was too vanilla and asked for kidnapping kink I was put off. I want a innocent heroine who does not know kink. She was way too into it and boring.

Not badly written, but no story at all. Nothing happens. Characters just have repetitive thoughts. Interesting concept with the cruise ship. But the story just went nowhere.

It took me a bit to link together all the characters and their different roles in this game of cat and mouse.
I would have enjoyed a bit more meat at times but that is me and I am pretty sure the author intended the reader to feel like everything was just beyond their grasp
