I received an early ARC of this book and this is my own honest review.

The Trouble With Her is the 4th book in the series and is Andy and Jessa’s story. If you’ve read the other books including The Dark Love series you will have met them both before.

Yet again, Kat has done an amazing job telling their story. The prologue set up the whole story perfectly.
I loved finding out more about them both and how their friendship turned sour and the impact of Jessa’s seemingly sudden marriage on Andy and her family and friends. I really didn’t like Jessa’s husband, to me he was a typical posh, rich, upper class Englishman. I really could feel and understand Jessa’s emotions at times.

When you get Lex, Noah, Kate and the rest of the Edwards family as well as a bit more of Eric you know you’re in for a good read! I loved having the old characters back again, but also found the new ones to this book were well written and researched too, even if I didn’t like them.

This is a must read book and most enjoyed reading in order.

Not my favorite in the series didn’t really interest me that much plot wise but I did enjoy all of the moments with all the side characters.

True love ... emotional, heartbreaking & raw

Kat T. Masen is one of those authors whose storylines just keep calling me back for more. Her Forbidden Love series keeps getting better with each book. THE TROUBLE WITH HER is book #4 in the series, and I highly recommend it and the three preceding books. This story is raw, emotional, heartbreaking, but in true 'Kat style' there are plenty of hilarious moments to be found among the emotional ones. There is also the opportunity to catch up with the amazing extended family I have come to love. THE TROUBLE WITH HER is Andy and Jessa's story, and all I can say is ... break out the tissues, wine, and chocolate.

" ... only now do I realize just how much we were fighting the same battle - protecting our friendship at all costs."

Andy Evans-Baker and Jessa Bentley-Mason have been best friends since they were children, they've both been keeping a secret, fearing that if it ever gets out their friendship will be forever ruined. One act destroys that friendship; Jessa comes home from London engaged and Andy is confused, ropable and broken hearted ... but why? Time passes and Andy finds himself in London for work. He also finds himself facing the only woman he has ever love, only now she is married with a son. So begins a story of sexual tension, misery, heartache, and unforgettable moments between two friends who have always been so much more to each other. Will they finally act upon the feelings they have, or will Jessa, although living with constant unhappiness, live by the vows she has with her husband Benedict - ugh that man did not make for pleasant reading. Will Jessa follow her heart or her head? Will Andy have the strength to let go of Jessa for a second time?

"You always have a choice Jessa."
"It's not my life anymore, ... you have everything."
"That's where you're wrong, ... I don't have everything. If I did, you wouldn't be going home to another man."

Forbidden is the name of the series, and Kat has certainly taken risks with Andy and Jessa's story, but the risk has most definitely paid off. Jessa's marriage and life is not what she thought it would be, and Andy's love for Jessa has never diminished, a love he has never openly admitted to. Their memories of their childhood and their friendship are becoming harder to forget. I adored both Andy and Jessa, my heart went out to them for what they were going through. I'm so pleased that Kat didn't rush their relationship, instead she allowed them to take slow steps and jump the hurdles they face at their own pace.

"Unconditional love ... To be loved, and only loved, by the man I have always loved."

Yet again Kat has written another addictive story that I couldn't put down. It was awesome catching up with the entire extended family, the care, the support and love they all have for one another is unequal. Of course, there must be the inappropriate moments from Rocky ... duck butter and motorboating come to mind ... a book wouldn't be the same without this man making us all laugh. I enjoyed the moments Andy shared with his father Julian, Lex, and Noah, they all showed just how close these men really are, as well as the cousins with both Jessa and Andy.

Another terrific read from Kat, and a wonderful addition to this amazing series.

Andy and Jessa have been best friends for as long as they have known each other. Their feelings for each other turned into something more. However, not admitting their feelings leads Jessa into the arms of another man, resulting in marriage and a baby.

Only time hasn't quelled old feelings. Noah, Jessa's father can not stand to see his daughter unhappy, their relationship strained. A conversation is had that leads to a decision being made, one Lex and Noah hope doesn't backfire.

Jessa is struggling in her marriage with Benedict, but she stays for her son Bentley. She misses the person that she was before, but with Andy back in her life, he invokes things long forgotten.

This leads to Andy and Jessa reconnecting, falling into easy, nostalgic conversation about their life. In one moment, everything changes between them, which puts Jessa in a precarious position, yet the opinions of their family will not sway what they feel for each other.

There family don't agree with their choices, but understanding that they themselves must accept those choices and deal with the consequences, because Jessa and Andy both know from personal experience what their parents went through to get where they are today.

Jessa comes to the realisation that her marriage to Benedict is over, but not before he confronts her about her infidelity, which she confirms, despite what they had, he accepts the inevitable.

Jessa takes back control of her life. She is now free to pursue her dreams and freedom she has fought for so long. Jessa shares with Andy her fears, and he comes to understand her more on an intimate level.

Andy and Jessa reaffirm their love for each other, which then provides Andy with the opportunistic moment to bind his best friend to him forever.

I love the different family dynamics and what each and every character brings to their story, got to love the meddling parents, aunts, uncles, and especially the cousins who make it all wirth the while.

Highly recommend both the author and the book. Onto book 5: The Trouble with Fate

To Those Who Wait.......

Andy Evans-Baker has only ever loved one woman. His best friend, Jessa Mason. Only problem, she ran away from him and her feelings for Andy, only to end up married another man.

But what will happen when Noah and Lex step in to bring Andy and Jessa back together? Will they both finally get what they've always wanted, or will they be destined to stay apart, never finding the right time?

Be ready for laughs, gasps, sighs and a little bit of heart break when you get reunited with the entire blended clan of the Edwards family once more. And know that it definitely takes a village!

I got the ARC of this book and it did not disappoint. These books are my favorite series ever and I was so excited when Andy and Jessa were getting their own story. I am so heavily invested into this entire family that this book made me cry a few times. I love these characters and their stories. Seeing how much Jessa and Andy have gone through just makes you fall more in love with them. I am so glad that it ended the way it did, and oh course Kat has me begging/craving for more. highly recommend this book, but it’s even 1000000X better if you read all the books that come before.🤍🥲

Andy and Jessa. They were just meant to be.
Another story of ups and downs. I did get a bit teary at points. It was good see the rest of the family. Lex and Charlie ❤. Rocky kills me. He's too funny. Love the mix of characters. I also love the fact that all the old faithful characters show their faces. Another great story from kat. ❤ for some reason I want to live in this world, with these families. I will be highly upset when the series ends.

So the guideline the writer is following is cheating and jealousy? ooookay.

So Andy and Jessa are in love. Rather than telling each other about their feelings, they assume stuff and Jessa runs away to move to London. There she met Benedict, fell in love, married him, had a baby, fell out of love and now wants out of it. She is still in love with her best friend Andy but none of them come clean about their feelings. Andy comes to London for work, Jessa and him finally confess that they want to be together but problem is that she is married. I dont have to be a genius to figure out that there is going to be cheating later right? Of course there was. So they meet hang out with each other but they decided they wont cheat. I knew that wouldnt stand. They go to the bathroom and watch each other get off. As long as they dont touch it does not count as cheating right? Spoiler alert, they end up screwing each other later.

later it turns out that Benedict is also cheating but how hypocritical Jessa is. Also, Jessa was thinking how bad she was for cheating on her husband. What kind of standards are the writer setting? Its okay to cheat on you fiance since you are not married yet (book 2) but its not okay to cheat on your husband?

Also, Andy's mother. What kind of stupid mother condones her son cheating and breaking up a family? Every person in this series is seriously messed up. Also, as one manwhore settles down, another one emerges in each book.

I loved every minute of this book!
Andy and Jessa’s story may be a little different but different in a good way. It’s got all the twist and emotional upheaval that I love to read as well the family connection and bonds that can never be broken. Another plus for me is it has the right amount of humour and shenanigans that comes with a large family unit. This book may test the limits of some but don’t be afraid to open your mind and think outside the box because the journey taken in this book is amazing in every way and the emotional pull is something that you will feel deep in your soul.
This is one author who likes to test the limits and take chances, and by doing so Kat T. Masen produces the best reads you could wish for.

I absolutely love this world …

I absolutely love this world of
characters and family. Each one unique in their own way. The appearances of all the Originals is like a side portion to the main! I mean i’ll
always welcome more of Lex.. 😝

Andy and Jessas story had me well and truly hooked from the beginning, one of them where before you realise your nearly through the book!
I started so late at night and that was the only reason i put it down otherwise it would
have been devoured in one read!

I loved that we didn’t have a yo yo story going on, when it’s a second chance story so many times stories go back and forth in time too much but Kat does it just right! She shows us the friendship of Jess’s and Andy and the departing but focuses on the reuniting!

I won’t lie i did want a little bit more of the steam and forbidden but as with all the previous i’ve read Kat T Mason writes more than a love story. It’s a journey of life events, finding yourself, believing in yourself and how to overcome obstacles!

The story is a rollercoaster. it’s emotional, raw, delicate and true love.

Another brilliant story … ready to see what Addys been up to !!

Andy and Jessa had been best friends for years as they grew up with each other. As they got older they developed feelings for each other but never acted on it because of their families close relationship. They were always getting jealous when the other went out/ had relationships with other people, but still never did anything. One night it got too much for Jessa, so she went to Europe and didn’t tell her best friend why or give him a heads up. A few months later she comes back home, new Fiancé in tow. Andy is heartbroken, confesses his feelings to her, but she still chooses her fiancé. 2 years later, Jessa is married and has a little boy, but has been struggling mentally due to being alone in Europe and her marriage not being good. Jessa a dad sees this, so he sets up a job for Andy that takes him to Europe near Jessa. They rekindle their friendship, both still being in love. Jsssa now works through divorcing her husband and co parenting. Loved the realistic plot, 2nd chance romance for the two.

tbh i thought this book was going to be about the rest of the Edwards sisters, so i was kinda disappointed when i found out that this was not theirs. but i finished it because of andy. i don’t give a single fuck about anyone else in this book.

i did not liked this book at all, i found it really boring.
i didn’t liked the fact that some of the chapters were written in anothers character pov, for example: noah’s pov… like i don’t fucking care what jessa’s father thinks and i don’t want to read about him having sex w her wife, i don’t know what the author was thinking.

i know that this series is like a ‘next generation series’ and the author wrote a couple of series before this one, but i haven’t read them (and i do not plan to). so , with that said, i don’t care if she was feeling nostalgic and wanted to relieve writing her old mc’s, i don’t want to read it!

to sum up, i felt that the book lacks of everything . everything goes really slow and at the same time really fast.
also, the smut is bad.

alrighty roo... like my couple make for these two!?
I enjoyed this book and I enjoy the trouble with series a lot. Andy and Jessa these two gave me butterflies in my stomach reading them! They were so meant to be!

When I read the blurb of this I thought to myself these two are gonna wreck me!! Surprisingly the angst wasn't too crazy. I also appreciate how Kat doesn't drag/draw out the drama. At least for this series she doesn't. Was it a bumpy road for Andy and Jessa!? Absolutely!! However these two found their way back to each other!!

My ONLY complaint! I wanted to see so much more of Andy and Jessa's future the epilogue have a nice little peek but I'm greedy!! I wanted to see more!!

As always I enjoyed seeing snippets of characters from previous books and getting updates on them!!

8/10 would definitely recommend!!

Love seems like a lot of trouble

Spoilerss

I can’t believe she moved countries, got married & had a baby all because she was running from the truth of her feelings😩 I think Jessa got lucky by Andy not falling in love with someone else, she could have very easily been watching him be in love with kids but like they say, whatever is meant to be will be.

Andy & Bentley reminded me of how much Andy loved Julian when he first started with Adriana, I love that all these men love on each & everyone of their kids, being raised as a village is something beautiful & I’m glad the girls have great examples of what a husband should be & the boys know that they put their women & children high on a pedestal.

I love Noah & Kate, every time I get a glimpse of them it makes me want to re-read their story all over again. They will always be my fave!

A good ending for Jessa and Andy

This is book four and it’s about two best friends Andy and Jessa. They grew up together and are technically cousins, not by blood, by various marriages. If you are reading this series then you know that all the couples have complicated histories, but all the families seemed to have worked out any past hurts and wrongs. Everyone knows that Andy and Jessa belong together except those two. They keep holding back their true feelings about one another because they are such BFFs. I did enjoy reading this book, however the two lead characters tortured me with their constant denials in internal dialogues. For Jessa to run away from her feelings was just immature. For Andy to hide his feelings for Jessa was just as bad. Read On!

I was so excited for this book!!

Andy and Jessa were so precious. And Bentley?? ADORABLE!!

I loved the flashbacks of when they were kids. Kat wrote these characters so so well & made me fall more in love with Andy than I already was.

Jessa was always the one that got away for him & even after all of the trials, they came out so much stronger & it was so sweet for them to finally get their happily ever afters!

The only reason this is not a 5 star read for me is because the ending just felt a bit rushed. I wished we would’ve gotten a divorce & wedding scene as well as an epilogue more into the future.

All that to say, Kat’s writing is marvelous & I cannot wait to continue reading the rest! I’m pumped for Addy’s book!!

Her best friend

They were best friends since childhood. They loved each other but never acted in it a since they didn't want to jeopardize their friendship. Push comes to shove Jessa needs to travel. She decides London and by chance she meets someone. But the thing is when you look at the world with colored glasses you don't see the whole picture you see what you want. She goes to another world and leaves her sane one home. Jessa finds out quick enough that her world now is not what she wanted, a love less marriage and a little baby. Andy comes looking and may make things right.

“I don’t have everything. If I did, you wouldn’t be going home to another man.”

My love for this big family just continues to grow! Andy and Jessa are best friend to lovers. Due to both of their fears they ended up separated for 2 years but fate brought them back together. Jessa ran from her problems when she should of faced them but life is all about learning along the way. Between marriage and motherhood she loses herself but her best friend Andy comes back into the picture and she finds herself again. They are truly meant to be. Andy has loved Jessa forever and he will do what he needs to make sure she never forgets. And the way he was there for her baby boy ugh loved them!

Oh my, did I enjoy reading Andy and Jessa’s story. I knew at the end of Ava’s story that something was going on with the two of them. Love has a crazy way of bringing people together. I was not happy to see them separate and Noah definitely worked his magic along with Lex to bring his daughter back to his family. Andy was always the Key.

Every mention of Elijah made me heart hurt. To know he just wanted the best for his son made me cry. Adriana and Julian did an amazing job raising Andy. Noah and Mo along with Kate did amazing with Jessa.

Running away from your problems will have you loosing yourself and Jessa learned the hard way. Thank god for her bestfriend.

....

What was meant to be well needed space to think turned into the worse decision of my life, vows were made that shouldn't be broken. Even if it means never being with the man I love.

Jessa & Andy were young & unable to come to terms with their feelings, both not wanting to destroy the friendship they had by giving into what may be.
I love the bond Andy & Bentley have, that instant connection that you can't get enough off.

I liked the way this book was written, looking back at their childhood memories & experiences with family that sculpted them into the adults they are.

This was a good storyline. Mixture of Kate & Noah/ Morgan & Megan Markle & the royals, if you ask me. Aka when Rosemarie mentions how Jessa needs to tame her curls… 😑🤔 Rosemarie had a heart problem for a reason & I don’t think anyone was upset about her sudden departure lol I definitely wasn’t.

It had a little of the jealousy factor but not too toxic. The anticipation of what Jessa was gonna walk into regarding Benedict, had me on edge. Only to be eased when it wasn’t anything that we didn’t know & anticlimactic, to be honest.

In the end, I’m glad Benedict was cordial enough to sign the papers & still wanted to be a part of Bentley’s life.

I love the “Lex and Charlie Next Generation” stories!! Andy and Jessa have a wonderful love story to share in this book. Yes there are speed bumps, hurdles, and a lot of issues to overcome for these two to get back to each other. But this journey is beautiful, sweet, and I can totally relate to the story line although I fall into Andy’s situation while my now husband followed Jessa’s path. I could not put this book down because I needed to know it would work out! Love that their story is told in this one book because I would not be able to wait to find out!

Absolutely loved this book.
From the time Jessa and Andy first saw each other again you could see just how much they still loved each other.
There was many sexual tension scenes which just made it better.
I loved the interaction between all the cousins and the adults are still as bad as they were in the pervious series.
Overall Kat has delivered another great book in the series and can’t wait to read the next one.

Another amazing read by Kat. This time it was Jessa & Andy’s turn to show us how to fight for the ones we love!!
The anguish’s between both Jessa & Andy could be felt off the pages. Loved watching this relationship evolve from hate to lovers. Taking you as a reader on a journey through the mental battles they both have to go through to end up back to how things were. It was hard at times since it was so relatable in real life having to deal with theses battles in a relationship.

I like this author's series with all the amazing characters. This love story between Andy and Jessa was entertaining, but I prefer strong female characters with spit fire like Charlie and Ava. Jessa was a little to reserved. For this reason, it barely made a 4. Andy on the other hand was a great male character as he was such a lovable guy. I wish the authour will write a story about Bendadict, his sexapades and the nanny.

I devoured this series within three days. I couldn’t get enough of Kat T. Masen’s words. The longing and desperation is felt through every word.

Why do we run from the good right in front of us? Are we not worthy? Can we redeem ourselves or accept the choices we made?

Jessa and Andy’s story is about love, patience, and accepting what is right in front of you.

Happy 📕 Reading!

fantastic read

God I love these books. I wish I had a family like the one in this series. The writing reminds me of Kelly Elliott and you feel like you are in the story with the characters. I have enjoyed all four books so far and look forward to reading more from Kat. If you want a book (series) that will keep you wanting more then you need to read these.
