Second Chance at Love. Forced Proximity. Enemies to Lovers.
Ethan avoided his childhood sweetheart ever since she’d crushed his heart when she chose an acting career in LA. Now she’s back for two months and as the manager of Clear Creek Adventures, he's forced to promote her production. Working with Emily is sweet torture. The old feelings resurrect to life, and all his friends tell him it’s about time he proposed. He has but a few weeks to overcome his fear of commitment and plunge into unknown territory. But when Emily is offered a TV deal that will catapult her career, how can he compete?
♥♥♥ Emily Masters would rather weed the entire Roosevelt National Forest than work with Ethan, the Georgetown Railroad Troll. But her ex-boyfriend would be the key person to promote her production at the local theater. She would raise the money to restore the historical building, then leave with her heart intact.
♥♥♥ What others say about Lisa Renee's series:
"The author brings the story to life with her words and keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next."
"A classic Lisa Renee rom com full of the kinds of unexpected moments and witty dialogue that keeps you laughing and wondering what in the world is going to happen next. Great fun from start to finish!”
Lisa Renee’s first full-time job was as a marketing manager at 19 years of age. From there, she learned the ins and outs of small business and went on to create three business start-ups, including developing her own brand of organic smoothies and lattes.
When Lisa got the writing bug, she switched gears and now loves coming up with swoon-worthy stories filled with awkward moments, adding love and laughter to every page of her romantic comedies.
When she's not writing, you can find her enjoying nature, hiking, snorkeling or with her running buddies, jogging the great outdoors of her home country, Australia.
Second chance romance, storyline was fine. I wasn't super invested in their story. Although they were supposed to be Christians, there wasn't really any faith in this story. Male MC said he didn't believe "some of the Bible was applicable today" and seemed to imply that having sex before marriage was OK since it "didn't hurt anyone else." The female MC apologized to her mom for swearing (even though she actually didn't swear), but there's no harm in violating God's rules for sex??? For this reason, I'm only giving 2 stars.
This story is exactly what a romantic comedy is. Young love, separation, then meeting up again only to realise the feelings are still there. Teasing each other & remembering their past. Such a funny yet sweet story with a happy ending.
Another entertaining story in the Clear Creek County RomCom Series
I've been wondering about Ethan's story since Kaitlyn and Jake's book. The little hints here and there certainly helped but never fully explained what the G.O. was with Emily... until now.
An interesting pair with an interesting past! Nothing like one's expectations being dashed to bring out the grump in someone. 🙊 Although I felt bad for both Emily and Ethan at different times, at other times I felt like slapping them and telling them to work their issues out! 😂
The theatre work and their performances held many amusing moments. Blender fails and Siri disasters, Ethan and Emily found themselves in many moments where they needed to decide how to respond. 😊
I enjoyed Ethan and Emily's story! Ethan's loved Emily for years, though five years ago she broke his heart when she left town. Emily's heart was broken when she left Ethan five years ago. She would have stayed if he'd only proposed and meant it! Now, she's home, and they're going to be working together. Will Ethan keep her at arms length, or will be they be able to work together? Will they be able to admit their love to each other, or will Emily leave again because Ethan can't make a commitment??
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Both Ethan and Emily feel hurt and betrayed by what happened. The author slowly reveals pieces of “what went wrong”, first from Ethan’s viewpoint, eventually from Emily’s, but we don’t get the “full picture” until pretty late in the book.
Six reasons to read (both sides of) their story:
1) Great setting: I love small towns, and this series has a cluster of three, all nestled in the Rocky Mountains! 2) Great characters: Quirky but lovable, the people in these communities truly care about one another (though they sometimes have interesting ways of showing it.) 3) The “friend group”: How wonderful to have a group of friends, most of whom you grew up with, who not only have fun together, but also support you and challenge you to grow in your life and faith! 4) Character development: I especially appreciated seeing Ethan make choices to grow in faith and become the man that God is calling him to be. 5) Many scenes that bring chuckles and smiles: While there are certainly “weightier” moments, the overall tone is fun, making this a very enjoyable read! 6) There's a happy ending!!
This is Lisa Renée’s third trip to Clear Creek County. The first one, Fake Engagement Mistake, is a novella (available for free at the time of this writing through Amazon.com) and Fake Identity at Stake, which is a full-length novel. While this story can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, I appreciated reading Paul & Becca’s “back story” in Fake Engagement Mistake and look forward to reading Fake Identity at Stake and the others coming up! (Caught in the Act, a novella coming in January 2022, and About Time You Noticed, a novel slated to come out in June 2022.)
I received a complimentary copy of About Time You Proposed, but the opinions are my own.
This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Renee. But it won’t be the last! I liked how this author wrote. She has great characters and an interesting and engaging plot line. Plus, don’t you just love the enemies to lovers trope? I know I do! This is not the first book in this series. But it can be read as a stand alone.
Emily is a great character! I loved the way she was home just trying to get her life going again after leaving the demands of L.A. She’s been asked to direct a play in the local theater. Really, she’s just killing time before her acting career hopefully heats up. I liked seeing her with Ethan. The two of them just have chemistry, even if they pretend to want nothing to do with each other.
It was interesting to see things through Ethan’s eyes. He knows why Emily doesn’t like him. And he doesn’t like her much either, or does he? It was fun to see how confused these two were. Because neither of them really acted like they didn’t like the other all the time. There were so many mixed messages!
I enjoyed the plot of this one. It was fun to see all of their friends. And now I’m going to need to read the first one to find out the back story on Jake and Kaitlyn!
I was sent an e-copy of About Time You Proposed as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely love plays, acting, and theater! Mix in second chance romance, a group of fun friends, and a small, cozy town and I was sold! “About Time You Proposed,” by Lisa Renée is a fun read with all of these things!
Before I started reading, I was already excited because I met Ethan in the last book! He quickly became one of my favorite characters because of his joking, fun loving spirit! Also he was the best friend! Emily is the one that got away! Her and Ethan were childhood sweethearts, but eventually she left to pursue her acting career! Certain events bring her home for an extended holiday, where they are forced to work together!
What starts off as a quirky and funny enemies to lovers story quickly becomes a heartwarming story of love and forgiveness!💕 If you need more convincing, here’s my list of my favorite things to get you curious!
•smoothie mess •getting stuck in the curtain •fake facial •romantic train ride •amazing epilogue, with a dog!!
Check out this sweet, Christian romance!! It releases November 30th, but it’s available for preorder now!! *I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
About Time You Proposed is a sequel to Fake Identity At Stake by Lisa Renee. This rom com was indeed a page turner and had some hilarious moments. This could be read as a stand-alone Emily Masters has been asked to direct a play at the town theater and the proceeds from the play are to make renovations on the theater itself. Her time in Hollywood has not been as productive as she had hoped, and she had plenty of time to devote to the project. Ethan Winters is the ideal person to promote the play since he has many marketing contacts through his job at Clear Creek Adventures. Emily had been his childhood sweetheart, but he was always afraid of commitment, thereby being why they broke up. Now he had been asked to help market the play and to work closely with Emily during the two months she was committed to being in town. This was a delightful book that brought characters from the first book into it. The town remembered the combination of Ethan and Emily from previous years and were always eager to pair the two together no matter how much they protested. I was given a free copy of this book for review and the opinion is my own. #AboutTimeYouProposed #LisaRenee
Synopsis: “Emily Masters would rather week the entire Roosevelt National Forest than work with Ethan, the Georgetown Railroad troll.” With a rocky past and future dreams, the last person in the world Emily wants in her life is Ethan. But when they’re forced to work together to save the local theater house, things begin to look a little different. Old feelings resurface, but so do old problems. But maybe it’s about time to move on.
Analysis: Raise your hand if you love Hallmark Christmas movies because I’ve found the perfect book! We all know this style is somewhat predictable, but with a small town romance, characters with a history, and theater life, it’s the perfect light-hearted read. I loved that this book was clean and wholesome but still pointed at real life issues without being depressing. A lot of drama and a little cheesy, this book will keep you turning the page for that happily ever after. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I started this before I read Fake identity so I went back and started at the beginning and man alive what a treat !
So I finished Fake Identity , made myself a coffee and then settled in with the people of our beautiful mountain town and watched things unfold between Ethan and Emily …..Mrs Baxter means well but darn it all she’s a busy body but her heart is I. The right place ❣️
I had a few giggles especially when Ethan and brows are under discussion or should I say plucking 🤪🤪🤪🤪
I’m so sad they missed out on years of happiness because they didn’t talk but again it’s bought out that all things in God’s timing !
I’ve liked Tommy from the beginning so I wonder what God has in store for him and Sarah
A touching story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I appreciated this one much more than the 1st one in the series, but a lot of that was that I was having a difficult time comprehending the story with the first one. There are some quips and quotes in this story that added another dynamic level to the storyline. I loved the characters and the "impromptu" play that was directed and performed by our h! Hilarious lines and some of the ad lib kept me in stitches. The author did a good job bringing characters from earlier books popping up in here to tie every thing together.
I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review with my own personal opinions.
Lisa Renee is one of my favorite authors & this is another winner! You can definitely read this as a stand alone, but I recommend the whole series. Ethan & Emily were high school sweethearts that were supposed to be together forever, but life got in the way. After all of the pain & heartache between them can they work together on the town's big project? Will they find their way back together?
This is a sweet romcom that is very enjoyable all the way through. If you like to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea to relax then this book is for you! I was given an ARC for review but all opinions are 100% my own.
Another clever romcom from Lisa Renee, with some cute schtick, some heartfelt soul-searching. some hard-earned growing up, and some back--and-forth romance. Emily and Ethan's story is engaging and entertaining, and will keep you wondering if it will all work out until the end. I enjoyed the small town ambiance and close-knit community, with some characters from other stories by the author that leaves you feeling like you're friends with them all.
I love how Lisa Renee always brings a faith arc into her stories. We are back in clear creak county for another fun romcom. Ethan and Emily overcome previous issues that both draws them together and pushes them apart. Change is possible. This is a standalone book, but if you want more of Clear Creak County read Fake Identity at Stake!
I received a copy of this book from the author. This in no way affects my review. All opinions are my own
Ethan and Emily get their moment in the spotlight in this delightful rom com that's filled with moments that will make you laugh out loud. The characters are real enough you'll want to take them out for a cup of coffee, and the faith thread is ideal. I love the small town with all its zany characters. Don't miss out on this one. I received a copy of the book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Emily and Ethan had been in a relationship for many years. She was hoping for a marriage proposal which never came. She decided to leave town and pursue her career as an actress. She came back to town, and while there she directed a play as a fundraiser. She and Ethan had to work together. Not sure where this will lead? Read the book to find out. You'll be glad you did.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
About Time You Proposed was a cute story but I didn't feel the leading protagonists, Ethan and Emily, had very good character! I did not feel their behavior was very Christlike for a Christian fiction book! They both had issues that they were able to work out. The community theater was humorous. It was fun to see characters from previous books. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
This book was adorable! We only had this one on Kindle, but now I want to know all about how the other characters met: Becca and Paul and Jake and Kaitlyn and Page and Dion. And I totally want to read all about Sarah and Tommy. Ethan and Emily were so cute and I couldn’t stop laughing at Ethan’s sense of humor. Such a cute book. These are the exact kinds of books that make me wonder about my own future. 😍
It was an okay short story to read. It was based in Colorado and that's where I'm from so I thought that was cool. Story is about a couple who broke up for 5 years because the guy didn't want to commit. The girl leaves and comes back to volunteer to direct a play.
It was cute in some parts. I read other reviews that this was a book with faith in it. I did not read anything with religion or whatever in it.
Highly recommend reading these and reading them in order. I started with About Time You Noticed, but I am hooked. Scriptures and biblical perspective are sprinkled in to heartwarming love stories. Thank you for sharing God’s love for us with relatable characters.
I was a bit disappointed by the plot and Ethan and Emily's storyline, but I liked the book enough to finish it. I enjoyed the beginning more than some parts of the ending. Although this is my least favorite book in the series so far, the author put it all together expertly and I can't wait to read the final book in the Bachelors of Clear Creek book series.
I enjoyed reading this story about two people who have been sweethearts in the past but separated years ago. They meet and work together on a stage play in their small town. I look forward to more by this author.
I really enjoyed reading this romantic story. The characters are very believable. I loved the descriptions of Georgetown, Idaho Springs and the train. I've driven through that area for many years. A very happy ever after story.
Love a sweet HEA and seeing life long friendships depicted...they do exist and are true blessings. First time reading Lisa Renee..very much enjoyed her style and looking forward to more.
Clean Standalone Rom-com Interconnected Series HEA
Can be read as a standalone but has characters that overlap in the other books. Best if read in order. High school sweethearts Second chance Small town boy dreams Hollywood star actress dreams Fear of marriage
It's a good book. It took me a little while to get into this book, but it was worth it. It was fun as one got to know the characters. Cute and humorous.
