Seven Corners Shifters #2

A Chance With His Alpha

Rate this book
I’m having a baby with my best friend to save the family business. He’s NOT in love with me. Is he?

Channarong Saithong, omega tiger shifter, only has time for running his family's restaurant, and pining after his best friend, hot and playful alpha wolf Tristan Bolder. The problem? Tristan wants them to be bros for life. When Channarong’s uncle resurrects an ancient law to steal the business for himself, the only way to stop him is to...have a baby? Channarong wants this baby. With Tristan. In saving his family's business, will Channarong sacrifice his heart?

Tristan Bolder, carefree, fun-loving alpha wolf, wants to goof off with his best friend Channarong forever. Who needs a mate, right? But when Channarong comes to him desperate for help, Tristan can’t say no. Now he's got a baby on the way, an evil uncle to ward off, and no way to tell his best friend about the new-found feelings for him. What's an alpha to do?

Can Channarong save the family business? Can Tristan step up to protect what he loves? Can making a family bring out the truth of their love, and bring them together once and for all?

This is the second book in the Seven Corner Shifters series. Reading book one isn't necessary to enjoy this story, but it is strongly recommended. This book has a HEA and contains occasional strong language, MPREG, and hot, spicy grownup stuff. The omegas are heating up and the alphas are very knotty boys. Turned out pretty darn good by the end!

Have to say this was frustrating at points, the author allowed the two MCs to remain pretty clueless till almost the very end. Personally I would have slapped some sense into them way sooner!

What an adorable story. Tristan is a big playful, affectionate, supportive alpha, being oblivious about all his possessive feelings for his best friend, his bro, omega Channarong.
Channarong is in love with his alpha since forever. Tristan isn’t a serious guy and wants to stay bro’s for the rest of their lives. There’s a tiny problem, Tristan can’t live with the idea another alpha would claim Channarong, so he’ll stay close to him, forever, of course!

When family business gets in trouble Channarong wants an heir, to secure his place, there’s only one alpha to ask, his alpha, even though this stubborn one is so very oblivious, it hurts.
When Tristan finally acknowledges to himself Channarong is his fated mate, he can’t tell him, because Channarong doesn’t see him as his mate. Oh boy, talking about blind spots.
Troubles with family, troubles with business, and most of all trouble with love, besides the troubles there is a lot of funny banter.

Playing best friends but secretly being in love, having a baby on their way, knowing the other is their mate, but not acting on it, it’s quite complicated. They are in it together but not together.

I loved the hurt, the playful attitude, the strong attraction, the humorous banter, the fun between the sheets, all so appealing!
It was a fast-paced story, fun, endearing, with adorable characters, a nice light plot, and a wonderful end. The author created a feeling-good story with some hurt and comfort, some nasty matters but most of all fun, adoration, love, and endearing possessiveness.
Overall a satisfying narrative I enjoyed reading!

Channarong and Tristan were a hot mess and that’s putting it mildly. These two hid behind their ‘bros 4ever’ and combine that with their lack of communication with each other - well, suffice to say, I was rolling my eyes and getting a tad frustrated. The friends aspect went on and on whereas, the lovers part was here and there. I wanted to see their bond grow but I felt like I missed out on seeing all the good parts, while the two were still figuring things out, right up until the end.

The ending was funny and I was laughing my head off at all the theatrics. Channarong asking for the ‘good’ stuff during birth was hysterical.

Boy, these two are so blind to what each other feels. Which is odd considering they know everything about each other. I so wanted to shake them at times but they were already so sweet with each other it was only a matter of time. The only good thing about the uncle was forcing them to speak up about how they felt about each other. Goodness knows they wouldn't have ever figured it out. This was a sweet love story that has a happy ending for my favorite character, Tristan.

Channarong and Tristan have been best friends forever, and that's how they both want it to be. Of course, they both eventually want it to be more, but they are afraid of telling the other.

I really like watching all of their friends know what's going on with the two of them before Channarong and Tristan do, lol.

3.75 Stars!

This story could either be frustrating or cute depending on the reader. For me, it was cute, mostly fluffy, and helped me get over my massive book hangover. If you really don't like when characters avoid a discussion that could solve all their issues, you may want to skip this one. There are definitely some threads from this story that would have been nice to see wrapped up more, but this book reads very similarly to the first in the series. While you meet both of the main characters in the first book, His Protective Alpha, I think you could read this as a standalone.

Channarong and Tristan are best friends for life, but everyone is convinced they should be mates. If not for a horrible accident and a scheming uncle, it's hard to say if these two would have ever had the conversation that they should have had before now. While I enjoyed Tristan's antics to a certain point, he is certainly in denial. When he realizes and accepts Channarong is his mate, he still hedges about saying anything. Channarong has loved and wanted Tristan as a mate for years, so I could sympathize with his avoidance since Tristan was beyond clueless for so long. I was happy that they finally figured it all out.

I loved how much the whole town supported Channarong and his family and cheered on the relationship forming between Tristan and Channarong.

The trope, friends to lovers, is enough reason for me to rate it with lower rating no matter whether the story is great or not because I have strong dislike with friends to lovers trope.

I'm just curious how their story will develop since in the 1st book, the author stated that Tristan has no romantic feeling to Moo turned out he has a feeling but he just don't know what he feels is love.

This book is full with misundersanding and miscommunication between Tris and Moo, it only took an honest, heart to heart talk between them to make things right from the beginning, saved Moo from all the heartache he have been going through.

ARC received from GRR for an honest review.

Channarong "Moo" is an omega tiger shifter, who helps to run the family restaurant/store with his great-aunt and brother. When his auntie is severely hurt and in the hospital he hears his uncle making plans to steal the restaurant from him and his brother because they're omegas. He finds a loophole that will allow them to keep the restaurant if he's pregnant and the baby turns out to be an alpha. He can only think of one person to help and immediately goes to his BFF Tristan.

Tristan is an alpha wolf shifter that helps his brother in matters about their territory and works at Moo's restaurant to help out. He's a 29 year old immature, goof ball that's always saying he's staying "bachelor bros for life" with Moo. When he's approached from Moo with the plan to make a baby he jumps on the chance because he doesn't want anyone else doing it.

This is a BF to lovers to mates shifter romance that was a fun read in places but a mess all the same. The two MCs lack communication so for 90% of the book don't realize that they are both in love with each other and just think they're saving a restaurant with this baby making scheme. Tristan's immaturity got tired real quick. He didn't feel like an alpha until 2/3 of the way through the book. He seemed to cry as much as the omega which was annoying. The baddie is pretty well known from the start but his punishment isn't really a punishment. For what he attempts he should've been dealt with harsher IMO. During Moo's delivery he's in a lot of pain (understandable) but the author having him ask for morphine, meth or heroin is completely ridiculous and a turn off. This series has wimpy alphas which isn't for me but others seem to not care. Not a bad read per se but not a good one either.

Omega Channarong "Moo" and alpha Tristan "Tris" have been friends since they were kids. everyone saw them as the inevitable perfect couple, well, except one another. Neither really committing to anyone else.

Channarong worked in the family business. Tristan helped out several days per week. Working side by side, what could possibly go wrong? Aunt Kamlai becomes injured from a grease fire.
As an unmarried omega, this leave the family business vulnerable as his greedy and determined uncle, decides to enact old pack laws.
There is one loophole -get pregnant, but one sure way to keep the business from being taken over-take on a mate. His BFF is the only person Moo could ever imagine turning to for something so life changing.
What a way to find out you're fated mates, only to awkwardly refuse to complete the mating. How did these to manage to ever function is beyond me. Completely looking past one another and not addressing their true love and the fact they are mates.

Tristan's character development was by far one of my favorite aspects of this story. I really loved how he was able to fully express his emotional side while still portrayed as just the alpha he needed to be for himself and his family. Never be afraid to embrace who you truly are.

We can't forget stubbornly adorable Aunt Kamlai and the beat down of his debt-ridden uncle. Perhaps we will see future books for his cousins in this series or a spin-off.

Tristan and Channarong have been friends since childhood. They enjoy spending all their time together. Tristan is an alpha who isn't ready to find a mate. He just wants to hang with Channarong and have fun as bros. He is lazy at home but comes running the instant Channarong asks for help. Channarong helps his family run their grocery and restaurant. Channarong has always had a crush on Tris but would rather keep him as a friend than risk losing him by asking him on a date.Channarong enjoys spending time with Tris but he really wants a baby. Everyone around Channarong and Tristan can seen they are destined mates but the two are in denial.Channarong

Then Channarong's aunt and alpha gets badly hurt and will be forced to retire. Her brother comes in with plans to take over the family business using an old law that states the family business should be run by the senior alpha. Channarong does some research on how to foil his uncles plans. He discovers that if he had his own mate, he could keep the business. He also learns that if he gets pregnant with a baby, the unborn child's right will be protected. Channarong asks for Tristans help to get pregnant. The two have a passionate night which convinces each of them that they are fated mates but they are too afraid of ruining their friendship to talk honestly of their feelings.

Tristan and Moo are a special couple!
Tristan and Moo have been friends since childhood, the best of friends. Everyone else can see that they are much more than friends. Moo has been in love with Tristan since they were teens. But he's settled for being best bros, bachelors forever, just as Tristan always says they are. Tristan is in denial of what Moo really means to him. But things take a turn when Moo's family business is threatened and trying to protect the business means the two of them getting closer than ever and having to confront some truths. Throughout their relationship Tristan has always been protective, touchy and loving to Moo, and when they get caught up in a scheme to have a baby together, it frees Tristan to face his real feelings for his best friend, but both of them have to be brave enough to risk being honest with each other. I read this book straight through in one sitting. The love Tristan and Moo have for each other even before admitting they are more than friends is deep and poignant, the side characters add so much fullness to the story and the sub plot of intrigue while a family member tries to steal Moo's family's restaurant and grocery store makes this one of my favorite Ava Beringer books and a must read! I highly recommend it! A well deserved 5 stars.

Saving the Business (the Fun Way) . . .

Omega tiger shifter Channarong (“Moo”) and Alpha wolf Tristan Bolder have been best friends forever. Yet they are also totally blind to their feelings for each other. Moo runs the family restaurant, while pining away for his best friend, Tristan. Moo’s scheming uncle is trying to take the restaurant for himself, so he digs up an old law to do that since Moo and his brother are both Omegas supposedly incapable of running a business, unless… Moo has an Alpha baby! There may be another solution somewhere in the fine print about a mate, but Moo kind of likes the possibility of having Tristan’s baby, if he can convince him to help.

Tristan is like a kid himself, still having fun and goofing off with no worries about ever getting a mate. But when Moo asks for help, he immediately agrees. With the baby now on the way, can Tristan somehow tell Moo how he feels about him now that they have done this? Neither of them appear to be good at communication. A little truth here and there would solve their dilemma. Because everyone else can see they love each other. Will the birth of their baby open their eyes to the truth? And if Moo tells Tristan all they needed to do was become mates, would he be upset Moo kept that information to himself?

I am still smiling! Ava Beringer did it again! She wrote a feel good, sweet, alpha-omega, town full of family and friends who support each other, low angst yet an uncle who just won't take no for an answer until his butt gets whooped, story! I really enjoyed this quick read that has me smiling about two men who are best friends and don't know they are fated mates until one is pregnant and the other is super protective... well he always was super protective of his friend/mate. Tristin is one of the wolves in the pack that is full of all kinds of shifters. Channarong, or Moo, is his best friend and his family owns a busy restaurant. When an accident happens and Moo and his brother, another omega, are left in charge, their uncle comes to town and threatens to take over the restaurant. The only way to prevent that is for Moo to have an heir. So, he asks Tris to help him out and be his baby-daddy. Little do they both know is that Tristin says yes and all of the protective feelings that alphas get comes out in a big way. Everyone in town knows they belong together, they don't though.

This is a sweet story, and I really enjoyed it. I've read the first Seven Corners Shifters book and loved it too. Now I have book three to look forward to with Tristin's brother Jorik!

I enjoyed reading this.

While it’s not entirely necessary to read book one, His Protective Alpha, before you read A Chance With His Alpha, you might enjoy it more if you do. I liked book two a lot more than book one but I’m still glad that I read it first.

A Chance With His Alpha was at times a very sweet story but there was a subplot having to do with Channarong’s family that surprised me at times. Channarong and Tristan have been best friends forever but Tristan is oblivious to Channarong’s true feelings. The blurb does an excellent job of describing the book.

Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes and this is a pretty good one. The story kept me engaged while I read it and the family shenanigans kept things lively. I enjoyed the family dynamics of both Tristan’s and Channarong’s. Both are loving and supportive except for one bad egg in Channarong’s.

Since book one was about Tristan’s brother Bronx and he has two more brothers, I’m betting that there will be more books in this series about them. I’m especially interested to read a story for the youngest Bolder brother, Larkin, who’s been away at college during books one and two.

A copy of this book was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Seven Corners Shifters series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Omega tiger Channarong (Moo) and alpha wolf Tristan (Oink) are clueless best friends who are also fated mates, if they take a step back to realize what's right in front of them and learn what the meaning of family truly is (family isn’t always blood) especially when you have those that are family by blood working against you. Communication is key with these two the banter, the love and the craziness will have you laughing. That uncle will have you wanting to jump right in to put a hurting on him so bad …but the aunt will have you wanting to love them all. So, with two best friends who are fated mates, a birth, some hot encounters, an evil uncle and chemistry so insanely intense will these two finally get it together and see what we all saw from page one will it lead them to happiness?

I enjoyed this book. Channarong and Tristan are best friends and have a good strong relationship. Channarong however is in love with Tristan, and Tristan- unaware of this and his own feelings- wants to be a bachelor forever. When Channarong's alpha uncle tries to steal the business out from under them when his aunt is badly injured using an obscure law against omegas, Channarong decides to have a baby to get more time in hopes that it will present as alpha and be able to keep rights to the business. There's no one else he'll go to for this than his alpha friend Tristan. While I liked these characters, this book has a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding between them that could be solved if they just have a talk about it. It was frustrating at times and I wanted to knock their heads together. Both in love with each other but afraid to say so, and everyone around them could see it. *sigh* I still enjoyed this book, and liked the supporting characters as well. It had some hilarious moments too. 4 stars

Cute story

This was a cute story, I have the same issue with it as I did book one though so I'm not sure if I want to continue to read these. There are some typos and using the wrong name for a character that confused me but my biggest issue is the repeated use of "Little did (insert pronoun) know". It's used A LOT! It's really irritating that the author wouldn't just let the story flow at the end of every chapter practically it's Little did they know such and such was coming. So frustrating, if a story is well told we can fully anticipate the coming it was obvious the uncle wasn't going to give up the story lended itself to that. So to repeatedly say Little did they know and then two pages later the event happens was super irritating. Also since the characters were in the present tense throughout the book saying the little did they know makes zero since. Just taking every one of those out would have moved it up to 4 stars for me. For a cute, pretty low angst, clueless best friends to mates shifter story it was a fun read.

A tiger, a wolf, and an evil uncle walk into a restaurant...

I was blown away by this book! I was pulled in from the first pages, caught up in the lives of the characters. Omega tiger Channarong (Moo) and alpha wolf Tristan (Oink) are clueless best friends who are also fated mates; if they can only pull their heads out and realize what's right in front of them. You will love Auntie Kamlai, Chai and the Bolder brothers. You will hate Moo's scheming uncle. Come. Join Tris and Moo as they learn the meaning of family. Their road to HEA isn't easy. They are so oblivious to what everyone around them sees, you just want to slap some sense into them. There is hot sex, a tragedy, a confrontation, and a labor & birth scene that will leave you in stitches. You need to get this book...Now! Please read the first book in this series. The third is in the works. I can't wait!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

How difficult is it to smell what's right under your nose? Tristan and Channarong/Moo were best friends for life. Tristan, worked part time at Saithong, Channaron's family business helping Moo and Somchai, Moo's brother. Moo has been in love with Tristan, but thought he had no chance. He considered Tris, his mate but figured Tris was so oblivious, he's never know. Tris, has started noticing the man, Moo and not just his friend Moo. Auntie, the family alpha, had an accident and Tristan stepped up and helped more. Uncle Kriangsak, wants the business. He found a loophole in shifter law, that gave him an opening. Moo, had overheard his talk with his sons, and was alerted. Can Moo find a solution to stop Uncle from taking the business? Will Auntie recover from her burns and return to the business? Will Tristan, get a clue? Fun story. Stressful dilemma. Good, exciting story/character development. Somchai is a fun brother. Nicely done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I like this author a lot. Her humour is exactly my type and I laugh at least once whenever I read her stories and this one was so great.

Tris reminds me of Mitch from her book His Accidental Valentine’s Omega which was my first series from her and so I think that’s why I ended up liking Tristan so much.

I do have to say though, that the miscommunication trope is my least favourite and this (as well as her other books) was so full of it. But I guess she needed a plot point to move the story along.

I liked this better than the first book. I like Jorik a lot and can’t wait to read his story. I love the representation of different ethnicities which Ava is good at having not all characters be white.

Sure, her writing is cringy at times and I curl up into a ball of cringe sometimes, but it’s not too unbearable.

The uncle got off easy, in my opinion. I hated him. I wanted him to suffer.

A chance with his Alpha is a MPreg MM shifter romance.
Tristan and Channarong are best friends for life. Tristan wants them to stay bachelors for life, but Channarong is in love with his best friend for several years. He also wants a baby. But Tristan is clueless about Channarongs' feelings.
When an accident incarcerates Channarongs' aunt and throws his evil uncle into his life again, only a desperate idea can save his aunts' restaurant from falling into his uncles' hands: he needs to become pregnant. And who would be better suited as his babys' daddy than his best friend?

This book was fun. Tristan and Channarong are really clueless, which is a small minus point, as they take way too long to realize what they have. But I liked their bantering and sweet chemistry.
A really fun, quick read.

Tristan and Channarong have been friend since they were young but both are in denial of being mates.
Alpha wolf shifter Tristan and Omega tiger shifter Channarong(Moo) became friends in third grade and have been best friends ever since but neither will risk that to acknowledge there is more between them. Even at thirty they spend most of their time together and Tristan works several days a week at Moo's family restaurant. After Moo's elderly aunt suffers burns from a pan of hot oil and is taken to hospital he hears his uncle in her room plotting to take the restaurant away from them using an ancient law which allows a older family Alpha to take over when the is an omega in charge. When he finds out about this law he turns to Tristan for help.

Last time we read about Tristan, he was a 29 year old Alpha who never wanted to grow up and wanted to remain a bachelor with his best friend Channaron. But everyone in town all thought these two were mates, not just best friends. They all saw how much these two loved each other, but they both remained clueless. Channarong was in love with Tristan and Tristan was in love with Channarong. What’s going to make these two wake up and see what’s in front of them? Who would guess that a baby would bring them together? I couldn’t put my book down till I finished it. Well worth the read. I can’t wait to read about Tristan’s brother Jorik next.

This story had a lot going for it, but it also had some elements that took away from the story.

There were a lot of cute & fluffy moments that I loved, and the chemistry between Moo & Tristin was great. They were absolutely adorable when they weren’t being idiots. I didn’t like that Moo lied about their being only one way to save the restaurant. I feel like he should have been honest about all of their options. Tristin still would have helped him.

Even though they were great together their lack of communication had me almost wanting to stop reading. I know it was to build drama but I just felt like it didn’t totally work. Also the Evil Uncle was a bit much at times and the punishment for all his crimes was so minor compared to everything he did.

I do enjoy the world of Seven Corners and will continue to read the series. I will go in knowing that these are the most well paced and riveting stories but that they are still fun to read.

I did receive a free ARC of this book but that did not influence my review.

Blind for their fated mate

Tristan and Channarong have been best friends since they have been childeren. They even work together in the restaurant & grocery store, which has been in Channarong his family. When there is an accident with the Aunt, leading Alpha, Channarong and his brother Somchai with their team keep everyting running. However his alpha uncle tries to get the family firm from under them and under his lead, based under a very old law.
Channarong and Tristan find a way to counter this, a way that has consequences and a way that finally let them see what everone else in their life saw for a longtime. I have read previous books mpreg and shifters by this author and this one is in line with those.

I did enjoy this book... If you like best friends to lovers A/B/O mpreg romances then this is probably for you. This is the second in the series but it can definitely be read by itself. There are characters from the first book but you won't lose anything (like plot-wise) if you don't read the first book. The two MCs omega Channarong "Moo" and the alpha Tristan "Tris" are best friends who have their heads up their asses. Eventually, they did. I thought it took way too long for them to get their stuff together but everybody is different. Grandma was great. The uncle I wanted to punch. I am not sure why the author added the whole part in the hospital with asking for meth especially since it was coming from a pregnant guy. But overall I will continue to read the series.

This is a cute, amusing and sweet story. Moo and Tristan have been friends since they were children, each in love with the other, and each believing that the other is not interested in being anything more than best friends. But when Moo's uncle tries to move in and take over the family business, Moo comes up with the idea that a baby would save everything, and that he wants Tristan to get him pregnant. Tristan is the bold, playful and determined one, Moo is the romantic, shy and sweet one. Everyone tells them that they're in love, and they wonder what everyone else is seeing, until a near tradgedy wakes them up. I loved how everyone teased them and they were so oblivious.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

What an absolutely adorable book. This is a new to me author, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Tristan and Channarong were such a sweet surprise. These two guys have been friends all their lives, what could be more inevitable than a pairing between the two.

Tristan is defined in this book a golden retriever puppy and it could not have been more accurate. He was so sweet and loving with Channarong. I don’t think the people in Tristan’s life gave him enough credit. He was an absolutely wonderful alpha.

Channarong was so full of snark and so adorable. He was long suffering as well, waiting for Tristan to wake up and see what was right in front of him. This book was full of pining, love, excellent family dynamics and puns! I really enjoyed it from start to finish.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
