This is a super short (89 pages) but encouraging book for mothers.
There are 16 chapters— a couple pages long— with a couple verses and questions to meditate on for each one. She covers so many important topics like: the calling of motherhood, Bible reading, discipleship, dying to ourselves, guarding our marriages, mom guilt, perseverance, prayer, words, emotions, and more.
There is special encouragement for mothers with kids in the younger years, the older years, and single moms.
Boyles reminds us that motherhood is hard but incredibly important and meaningful. We just need to be obedient and faithful in the seemingly mundane things every day and trust that God is nourishing the seeds we plant into beautiful gardens.
“Success is faithfulness to what God has placed before us.”
“As we bring our needs before Him, we find His grace is sufficient. As we bring our brokenness before Him, we receive His comfort and healing. As we bring our sin before Him, we receive forgiveness and freedom.”
This is a great option for busy moms who don’t have a lot of time to spend on devotions each day that is still grounded in truth and will give words of wisdom to incorporate into our lives as mothers and wives.
It also makes a great gift!

Quick read, but really, not much gospel-centered about this book. Lots of true but not revolutionary ideas about how to be a good mom. Initial chapters outline how our highest calling is to be a worshipper of god- not a mom. That was a good reminder, but the rest of this booklet was pretty standard in way of reminders about our words, priorities and duties as Christian moms. Not much, if any at all, talk of the completed work of Christ on our behalf (I.e. the gospel). Nothing heretical, but also not a book worth reading or passing on IMO
This was a gift from my church’s postpartum ministry after having my son. This was a short but really good and enjoyable read about different aspects to help be a gospel-centered mom. It was convicting and encouraging. There was a short reading each day for 16 days followed by some scripture to read and review and then a space for prayer. I actually saved some quotes from the book in my phone notepad to review when I need them. It was a good reminder of the importance I hold as a mom in the household and how it is necessary to demonstrate the gospel to our kids. Great and quick little devo series!!
Daily Grace Co. is always a win!! They have a wide variety of encouraging and convicting devotions, all rooted in the goal to grow and equip its readers to become more like Jesus and radiate the gospel.
I enjoyed this short devotional for moms. It was full of solid truths, and I liked the layout of a short devotional read, followed by some scripture to read, and then a place you can write out and reflect on each day. I especially liked the chapters on discipline and emotions. I needed to reminders of watching our tones and body language, and how we engage our emotions.
A great, inclusive devotional! As a working mom, I liked the perspective it gave on parenting and there was no shame for working. Also has a section for single moms. Really loved this.
Absolutely loved these short devotions. Exactly what I needed as I go through some struggles in motherhood. And the Scripture and reflection prompts were so powerful.
We read this as our discipleship book for co-op. The chapters are short but pack a big punch. I was greatly encouraged and enjoyed discussing it with my group.
I’ve been slowly reading this every week with my friends in our homeschool co-op and I love this book. It’s short but packs a punch in each chapter. It has so much wisdom, and it is never condemning nor encouraging performative religiosity. This is a wonderful book to see how to center the gospel in many aspects of motherhood. Walking with Christ doesn’t have to be fake, shallow, or performative. We can center our lives on Jesus Christ, and be truly transformed as we guide and disciple our children intentionally.
