Welcome! Please, make yourselves at home! Dungeon Rules are posted over there. You break 'em, and Baron Grimes will break your kneecaps. Piss him off badly enough, and he'll cave your head in. Really piss him off, and he'll string up your friends and family in front of you as you bleed out to death.
Just kidding! He'll probably just fine you . . . while knocking you around silly.
Anyhow, beds are ten copper per head per night. Complementary meals are served in the dining hall.
You can get in touch with Merchant Liszviel if you are looking for amenities outside the dungeon. She'll be more than happy to accommodate you if you've got the coin.
Oh, and I know the Dungeon Rules are over there, but I have to say this please avoid harming, killing, or forcing yourselves upon myself or the other Alexes in full view of other guests. That happens frequently enough to make some guests feel squeamish. At least talk it out with one of us before getting down to whatever floats your boat.
And please disregard any ideas that we Alexes are people or something. We have no souls inside our hollow shells, for we are merely walking piles of meat sculpted by the dungeon to serve as its proxies.
I didn’t think it could be done, but an original book with a great plot believable mc and a fun storyline was written here. Give it a shot it’s very fun just the slightest bit raunchy and even stand alone no cliffs.
Lotta dungeon cores like to say they're different as they race off to be OP & not be a sapient rock. I'll be the first to shoot those down as just another isekai just in dungeon core setting & they stop being a dungeon core. But I've found a winner for different this dungeon doesn't need other world settings just an actual unique setting as a misfit dungeon trying to survive at first. It's more a anthology / political intrigue as we follow an ancient dungeon try to live with humans & fulfill a promise to a long deceased friend while being as raunchy as possible (no explicit scenes)
Interesting take on tame dungeons. This is a complete novel and doesn’t seem to be a series.
Classes are present but not explained and skill are used but only explained in the broadest sense. No true stats, but the size and makeup of the dungeon is listed quite a bit.
Fun, but with some deep concepts. A bit more mature than much of its playful nature might lead you to believe. The development of Baron Grimes is…layered.
I am interested to see what this author writes next.
That was pretty good This is a dungeon core book, with a twist, and a bit of comedy and a fair amount of empire building. I enjoyed it. The ideas were interesting and the story and world building are solid. The grammar and sentence structure are occasionally awkward, and I had to go back and reread sentences repeatedly throughout the book, but I was so heavily invested in the story that I didn't mind. Apart from the overall story concept the real Shining light here are the characters. They are all being played against type, so the book feels fresh and new, not cliche archetypes trotted out as cookie cutter stand-ins. You might recognize inspirations like Divine Dungeon (obviously) but also some rarer sources like Ancient Dreams by Benjamin Medrano and I suspect a touch of threadbear by Andrew Seiple. Never the less there is a lot new here, and even the elements we've come to expect felt fresh. Wile I did feel a little detached from events for most of the book, I was intrigued and very invested. I read the last 80% of this in one long marathon session, and there were some emotionally gripping moments. I would recommend this one to readers who like to think about what they are reading.
I really wanted to like this book. Great cover, interesting premise. But it turned out to be LitContractLaw instead of LitRPG. I finally gave up at the 75% mark because i just didn't care. The Merchant is pretty good and the dungeon has personality, but the rest is flat.
Could be the best book I've read all year (and I read a LOT).
Edit, second reading: Still a great book.
Engaging and well paced. Lots of interesting characters and we get a chance to get to know many of them fairly well. This is really just a fantasy book, the "dungeon core adventure" not really the focus.
One thing I particularly like is that it's one-and-done. I'd like to see more books like that, but I understand the pressure authors can be under to crank books out. It's nice that this one doesn't feel rushed. If you can't tell your story in just under 600 pages you probably need an editor.
This is one of those four star for some, zero for others.
This has an interesting world state filled with characters that are pretty much all bad. Not as in poorly done, but just bad people. The issue is the lack of storyline. If you enjoy a slice-of-life show, this will be a four star. If you want more of a correction based narrative, this is not for you.
Abit of fair warning story’s by Burt Wrenlaw have tendency to not have a sequel for along time or never so it my be a while if the author writes another dungeon novel.
The story is different from most other novels has the story doesn’t really have a defined MC has the story progresses the individual chacthers all have things that effect the story lay the dungeon is center that links them. The narrative of the story takes into a soft-core type gamelit story has game mechanics have but it’s more background influences for skills the chacthers use.
It becomes a story that you’ll either really like or become annoyed with has the story has abit of a rough side to it from over simplification for the defeat of the main enemy leave it open for a sequel to settle the score. Then there’s finally the lack of any resolution of purpose for the story has it dosen’t really give a finale goal the chacthers try reach makes them seem bland for there in the moment thinking.
I want to say I had a little bit of a time getting in the books grove. But by the 4th chapter it was A dream to reed. I found it the complex and amazing on how it wove a complex social and political intrigue . I loved the charters and could not put this book down till the end. I hope you will keep finding new books to write also would love to see a second book of alex. Thanks for your hard work and wishing you the best for entertaining a lonely old man.
It is rare to find a fantasy story that feels original, more so a dungeon story. This manages the trick, with a blend of politics, scheming, and characters that amplify the premise. Extended descriptions and belaboring the obvious mar the pace and flow. I skimmed too much without losing the tale. But I do recommend it, strongly.
It was a fun story. It got heavy in some unexpected places, like domestic abuse and betrayal, but I still enjoyed the story and the mc. I wish all of the mc’s would have had a hea neatly wrapped up but since that wasn’t the case, perhaps this just means that more stories will continue to follow these characters. I hope so. I recommend this book.
I know the cover and to a lesser extent the description leads one to expect a harem or at least very adult novel.. but it’s not. It’s a well written book.. about a novel dungeon, it’s life and expansion.. as well as the people, town and nations that surround it. Well worth the read!!
Good story, has a well developed world, with a good merger of evolution as we know and fantasy awspect in it. One of the best tratis of the story is how the author gives life to different cultural outlooks betwee the known kigdoms and the new emerging nations. As portraying the view on divinity in each one.
What an amazingly fun to read fantasy adventure story!!! Great characters, naughty innuendos, unique use of dungeons and an all around fun read!!! This could definitely be a fun series to read!!!
Despite the description this is not pure smut. This was slightly disappointing, however the story is compelling and the characters interesting and with personalities that feel real rather than convenient.
A very interesting dungeon novel. Plenty of sexual Energy but more fade to black than actual sexual action. Cannot wait for the next book in the series. However, this book does not go into much detail about dungeon building.
I'm not a fan of slice of life and I was told that's what this was, but it's not. It's definitely a unique take on the whole dungeon core genre but I honestly hope for more books.
The world, dungeon and characters all felt very real and interesting. No cookie cutter characters. The world is a lit rpg without bogging you down with stats and numbers. Very refreshing. Thanks for the story!
Quirky read. Well written but not as naughty or violent as the blurb suggested. Good storyline about the dungeon growth over time and a very interesting world.
Excellent read, with well developed concept that is executed with colorful characters and believable dilemmas. The slowly revealed backstory works well with the final threat.
It was very light on the litrpg aspects but instead focused heavily on the interactions between the dungeon and those around it. A very fun read definitely recommend it to anyone who likes dungeon core books
An interesting take on the Dungeon Core genre. Its a light litRPG story with all the game aspects in the background. The Dungeon, Alex, is the central character, but those it interacts with are well developed and explored. I liked how the story explored the motivations of a sentient monster.
Honestly, this book was a fantastic read. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys dungeon protagonist stories. Give it a read, especially if your waiting on another book to drop from one of your favorite authors.
Very well crafted characters, a new and interesting twist on the whole dungeon theme, plenty of action, plot twists, intrigue and some hope for a follow up.
