Wanderers in the New Forest

Rate this book
Since Wanderers In The Forest was first published in 1958, Juliette De Bairacli Levy has added greatly to her fame as a botanist and herbalist, and has lived and travelled in many lands. This book tells of the three years that she spent with her two young children in a primitive cottage in the Forest. To her keen and affectionate observation of ponies, bees and plants is added a passionate plea ancient rights of the gypsies with whom she claims kinship. 'Her writing is vital' said Howard Spring in Country Life. 'and it makes us share in this unfettered life which she and her children clearly much enjoyed in body and spirit...'

For this re-issue, Mrs De Bairacli Levy has extended her original postscript telling of her continued interest in the New Forest to which she comes back from time to time from her Mediterranean home.
